I like everything about this iron not too heavy and was easy to use
So far so good it is easy to refill and light enough for myself in my late 70’s to carry. Hopefully it will last a long time
Excellent iron and creases disappear so quickly. The cord length could have been slightly longer but it’s not a major problem. Very pleased with this.
The first one I got leaked water when I was ironing constantly. I spoke to Amazon and they sent me a replacement straight away. The new iron is perfect no drips plenty of steam does a great job super happy with i
This is a great iron, I have not owned one like this before but i remember my mum having one years ago and i always wanted one.
This does not disapoint!
Its much lighter than i expected , great size for water and has a filter to i hope stop the limescale burst you get every now and again, always when ironing something black!
The cord length is good too.
Very happy with this!
Bought to replace a Bosch steam generator iron. Not as flexible to operate, but pretty good none the less.
Great piece of kit. Takes all the effort out of ironing and so much quicker than a standard iron. Loads of steam so much that my windows steam up while in use.
Cord could be longer, haven’t worked out a neat way of wrapping round iron to put it away
Thought iron would not be too good when I got it out of box
But started ironing really good !!!
My first iron of this type.
What a difference it makes – wow!
This is a basic steam generator. But it irons well. Smaller than my others I have had, but this one suits me. Would recommend it. Good for the price.
Replaced my broken iron and WOW what a great iron!!
I love the iron, I just wish the temp either went a little higher or that you could spray your clothes with really stubborn creases. Now I’m going to have to fill a spray bottle up of water every time I iro
I have been using steam generating irons now for about 9 or 10 years and this is in fact my 3rd. Like a car I like to change every few years as the technology and design evolves. As we live in a very hard water area I was delighted to see the addition of the filter system in this iron to try and alleviate this situation because even though I used to take out the pressure valve and clean out my very first steam generator the limescale still used to end up blocking the vents on the baseplate and then on occasions give a big blow out of steam and put limescale all over whatever item I was ironing at the time.
My last steam generator said that it had some sort of built in system to deal with hard water so that you never had to bother doing anything but still used to on occasions give a big blow out of limescale.
With this iron I am really hoping that this filter system will finally sort out this one little problem that I have with the water so that instead of buying deionised water etc I can just go back to using the tap and saving even more money.
As I get older now (66 years young) I have been finding the weight of the irons themselves to become a little bit waring on the arms after an hour of ironing so I was delighted after the first session using this iron to find that it is probably on half the weight of my last iron so was a breeze to use.
Even with the lighter feel of the iron the amount of steam generated made even the heaviest pair of jeans a doddle to get the creases out of. As for the light fluffy stuff that the wife wears it just flew through all of those with barely a crease left in anything.
As for my shirts and trousers you could have a shave with sharpness of each crease on the centre line of the trousers and sleeves.
Before anybody makes any comment as to why I am doing the ironing. I started at 17 when I joined the Army and through both of my marriages (widowed) I have continued ’till the present day and still quite enjoy listening to a decent book while carrying out this weekly task.
As a conclusion I would recommend this steam generator to anybody with the task of carrying out the ironing as it is a lightweight yet extremely powerful iron that makes a breeze out of any pile of clothes.
So easy to use even with one hand and a phone to take the video , always buy steam generator for ironing but must admit this one glides and takes creased out on both sides at once , the tank it bigger than my previous ones and the iron is very light weight all in all a fab purchase I also purchased 3 years cover as use my iron a lot , the last cheaper steam iron only lasted over a year and blew up so just shows don’t buy under 50 steam generators false economy !
Love it I seem to go through steam generators very quickly never satisfied but this is just right not heavy but powerful. Hate ironing can’t say this joyful chore but I don’t dread it as much.
Bought for grandson who has gone into the RAF. Apparently it glides over material like a jet! He is so pleased with i
This is good quality product backed up with a 3 year warranty (2 year standard plus an additional 1 year if registered online). The product is light and sturdy. The iron produces sufficient steam to iron with ease. The cable is just the correct length so the unit can be placed on the worktop or directly onto a ironing board. The water tank is generous size and has a replaceable water filter. My advice to prolong this product and reduce the build up of limescale is to use mineral water. I seriously cannot fault this product.
I purchased this steam generator after lots of research and reading reviews and realised that there are so many irons out. I didn’t want to spend hundreds of pounds so was really pleased to get this iron for 80. I’ve only used it a couple of times but so far so good. It has a good length cord and the iron can stand upright and I’m really impressed with the size of water tank and also the level of steam that comes out. It glides easily and does a good job of getting creases out. I would definitely recommend
I had a variant of this type a few years ago, it leaked, the steam was inconsistent and it was cumbersome to say the least, so lets go through those issues.
This Russel Hobbs steam generator iron has not leaked on me so far, in fact the base has been absolutely rock solid which is very impressive to me.
Just remember that although there is an Anti-Calc cartridge you will still need to descale it every so often especially if you are living in a hard water area.
The steam generated is very consistent and combined with how light it is and how smoothly it glides is ticking all the right boxes for huge improvement in design and time saving for me.
Cumbersome is not a word you could throw at the iron itself as it is very light and easy for me to manage with my new found mobility issues, but the base is a bit of a beast and I did need help placing it in its new home by the window
The size of the base could be off-putting but don’t let that dissuade you at all, this is a fantastic iron, it is ready to go with just a minutes notice and right now at 79.99 is an absolute steal.
This is my first time actually using a steamer compared to a generic iron, and generally I’m impressed with it so far. The main issue for me, especially living in a small apartment is the sheer size of the product. It takes up a lot of space and isn’t the easiest to store, more so when comparing it to the size of an average iron. On the positive sides, however, the iron heats up very fast and has a much larger water tank so needs to be refilled much less often.
The product boasts about being able to penetrate multiple layers of clothes for faster ironing time. I gave this a go with a few cotton tops and found it did do a great job of ironing through the stack. It’s a great product, if space isn’t an issue then would definitely recommend it!
This steam generator iron is very easy on the pocket and does a wonderful job. the iron heats up within a minute. The steam capacity of this steam iron is 1,3 liters. Its good enough to steam a bundle of clothes, without refilling again and again. It saves a lot on the professional steaming service. And the result is no less than a professional service. Definitely recommended!
This is the first steam generated iron I have used and I am impressed, it is bulky because you have the iron and the separate water tank where the iron fits, the tank holds 1,3 litres of water, but this means you do not have to refill it as much as you would do a standard iron. The iron sits on top of the base which you plug into the mains.
The iron itself is light and easy to use with a 1.9 metre long cable which gives you the freedom to move around a bit, which you need with the water tank. It did a remarkable job of a pair of thick jeans that were in need of a good iron. I have to admit I don’t iron many shirts, but I did enjoy not having to keep refilling the water whilst ironing the t-shirts and bedding.
It is big given the tank takes up so much more room than the biggest standard iron, so the iron plus the water tank are fairly large, so not ideal if you are short of storage or indeed space to iron, but overall a good iron that works well and once you’ve got used to it, very easy to use. Very expensive for an iron, but the quality is good, it heats up in 1 minute and I would say, is worth it.
I ordered this steam iron as now I am back in the office I need to iron my clothes.
Arrived well packaged in a solid branded box.
This is first steam generator iron I have had and the whole thing seems very large a bulky.
When I used the iron it is actually very flexible, iron itself is quite light and easy to glide round your clothes. It has a very long lead between the iron and the steam unit, nearly 2meters long.
Iron heats up nearly instantly, no prolong waiting for iron to heat up. Also no touching iron to see it hot, there is a light indicator which tells you iron is ready to use.
Speeds up the entire ironing process, large water tank means no constant refilling water. Iron has exceptional steam power basically providing continuous steam if that is what you want.
Overall, this Russell Hobbs iron is excellent quality and value for money. Far better than using a stand alone option for time and convenience.
I would recommend this product.
Really good weight to the iron that helps with the ironing process.
I have had one of these generators in the past and compared to this one were really heavy and bulky. This generator is easy to fill by pulling ut the water tank at the front, this tank also houses the filter. The iron itself is the lightest I have used. While irong I kept the generator on the ironing board and it did not hinder or get in the way while I was irong, but I do have a big ironing board. There is enough flex to be able to keep the generator on the floor. The iron heats up realy quickly and smooths out the creases with very little effort and when not in use sits on top of the generator. I am very pleased with this iron and generator.
A very good quality iron, it hats up very fast, no waiting around. Wow it ironed creases out without much effort at all. Very impressed with this ironing station, its worth paying that bit extra for to make a boring job a lot easier and quicker. Highly recommend this iron. Worth every penny.
I had one of these irons a few years back but though it was incredibly efficient the base on which the iron rested was so cumbersome and heavy that I gave it to my daughter as I was finding it difficult to lift. This one also has a base but it is half the size of my previous model and much lighter.
Easy to use. Just fill with water, the container is at the front, plug in and go. The iron rests on top of the base which is plugged into mains, and it is as light and very easy to use. The steaming is effective and efficient and gets rid of really difficult creases
Also this model is a third of the cost of my older iron and is good value for money.
Several years ago I would have been horrified at the thought of paying an almost three figure price for an iron, but after trying one out for a review, I quickly realized that it is well worth investing in a top-quality one; there’s less damage to clothes as they won’t snag on the iron thanks to the powerful steam button, whilst the steam button & easy-glide plate make the whole ironing process much quicker.
Me being me managed to drop my old review iron [a Philips one which isn’t made any more] and break it and I have also recently broken the Tefal one I got to replace it, so this definitely came at just the right time… And it can definitely hold it’s own; it heats up as quickly as my other two did [between 1 to 2 minutes], has the same size water [see Amazon’s comparison box], the weight is good & low for the size [I removed a star as my old ones were both a teensy bit lighter], and it is less expensive.
My wife thought this was a really impressive, effective iron. Her acid test was ironing jeans and she said this ironed them perfectly with just one pass. So she was very impressed.
Because the actual handheld iron piece doesn’t need to have a reservoir for water, it is slimmer, lighter and easier on the wrist to manoeuvre. And all that Steam makes light work of any creases.
The elephant in the room, of course, is how big this thing is overall. Sure, the handheld bit is slim and light but the whole thing is bigger than a medium sized dog! Not a problem if you have plenty of storage space but you can’t just pop this in a shelf the top of the wardrobe, like you can a regular iron. So, it’s something of a trade-off between space and operation and, if you have the space to keep it, the performance makes us well worthwhile having.
It tries to be helpful by having a clip on one side to hold the steam cable tidily and on the other side there’s a dummy three pin socket for you to push the plug in for rust storage of the power cable. I find this Durante hold the plug quite as securely as it might and could do with being a bit tighter.
A time saver steam ironing station!
I am a fan of brand Russel Hobbs and all my irons were from them ,which are pretty good too ,but I have always wished for an ironing station to be honest ,just couldn’t afford one 🙂
I have been given this for my honest review so here it is:
The iron station came in nicely packaged so no damage at all to the product itself.
Quite compact and easy to use comparing to other steam ironing station I have seen .
This is much more easy to held, much lighter which means I wont get tired as fast as I would with others.
The non stick soleplate is made of stainless still so it could last up longer.
Once you plug the station cable into the power source ,turn the on /off button and it takes up to 1-2 minutes to fully heat up.
You can choose the heat by rotating the wheel button ,not a much complicated menu.
The steam ironing station has a removable water tank of 1,3 l which is quite a lot so saves you time on keep refiling it.
On top of that it has a anti calc filter so it reduce the lime scale which could possibly build on the station.
In my case ,our tab water is known for this problem ,so it saves me from using distilled water .
Because the water goes in the station ,comparing to a normal iron which also has water tank on its own ,this one it is more practical and more easy to iron.
Very powerful steam ,only by passing once on the crease ,it makes it disappear so definitely a time saver.
Also as I just had my new born ,a powerful iron was necessary as I meed to iron all his clothes bit doing it faster helps a lot.
The only down side I could say is that when the steam is used ,it is a bit loud and it might disturb some people ,however not me 🙂
I am glad I own this steam iron station and would definitely recommend it further!
