Now this looks like a beast of an iron but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t as heavy as I thought it would be at all. Like the fact it has a carry handle but so it won’t slide off when moving it from one to another to iron. Had a large water tank so not having to keep stopping to refill it when doing a big irnoing mountain.
Easy too read and use iron which if you’ve used steam generator irons you know they just get on with the job no matter how creased anything is they just deal with it. This one isn’t quite as noisy either as some others I suppose as times goes on things get improved all the time with them. The cord length a good one for where I’m using it. Four stars though as it’s one of her more expensive ones I’ve used but for some reason I don’t know why as can’t really say I can notice anything that earth shatteringly different to my old Philips one. Apart from maybe the colour way of it . Looks sort of more space age and modern looking with it being in the black and the handle a gold colour effect that’s about it. A lot of money for a colour change.

I love the different colour of iron , I had this in a different colour but liked it so much , when that stopped working after 3 years , I got a new one . Very pleased with ease of use and it glides nicely over clothes x

I bought this as a spare while my expensive iron was being repaired, so glad I did it’s much better gets through your ironing in no time, very powerful steam gets out the most stubborn creases.

The size of this steam generator is slightly daunting, you really do need to have the space to accommodate this, because the whole thing is big., but least the iron comes off the base
thankfully; I was hoping it’d be cordless.

I have always used Russell Hobbs irons but this is the first Steam Generator and Im reasonably impressed with it. The iron heats up quicker, is very powerful and so glides thru creases easier.

For a steam generator coming in just under 100. is an exceptional price

Finally got my hands on a high quality durable and well performing iron!

Up until now my Mom was complaining how she has issues with cheap and low quality irons and they cannot do job properly and she is struggling.
Ordered this iron and vuoila, I have put a big smile on my moms face!

This will literally work perfectly with any type of clothes with or without steam, even if steam is helping to relax the material and make ironing easier and quicker.
Filling up is peace of cake and settings to understand are clear and well explained in instructions manual.

Iron plate is not sticking to any surface and is easy to clean. Loads of steam can be produced without any water dripping like old and cheap irons.

Keep in mind that Iron has it’s stand, therefore it will require some extra space to keep it but it will be well worth of space to give to this little beast!

This review is for the Russell Hobbs 26190 Steam Generator Iron, 2600 W, Black

This is an amazing product, never used steam generator in the past however I must say they are a great invention. The item was easy to setup and get going, once ready it provide an ample amount of steam and gets your clothes flat as a pancake in seconds. It is a dream to use and has multiple setting. The items is really well made, pretty large so not really ideal for moving around a lot. Overall would defo recommend!

I love my new steam generator iron. 4.5 bar pressure giving ultimate steam performance. Glides very smoothly and comfortable to hold. Very light weight and has anti scale cartridge to help to purify water. Heats up fast and easy to store. Very sleek and beautiful.

This is the best iron I have ever used, looks cool for an iron too. To make things simple here are the key points:

    1. Sleek design with hose and cable storage.
    2. Cleanable or replacable limescale filter.
3 Copper ceramic plate glides over clothes.
    4. 60 second heat up to max setting.
    5. Easy to fill and see through container makes level checking easy.
    6. 4.5 bar max pressure and 180g shot of steam.
    7. Use the iron vertically for steaming curtains etc.
    8. 3 year warranty bur you must register within 28 days of purchase.
    9. Auto safety shut off after 8 minutes.

To sum up a great iron, good value and works really well.

    No crinkles or wrinkles !!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m going to assume you know all about steam generators and just need to choose one. We’ve had several from Tefal and Philips and particularly value the ‘PerfectCare’ technology from Philips (means no need ever to adjust the temperature, or to sort your ironing — go from polyester to denim and then silk without a pause, also can leave the iron on its sole plate on the board). So how does this compare to my Philips GC9630?

Well, it doesn’t offer anything equivalent to PerfectCare, so I’ll move on to some other details:

    * Pressure is 4.5 bar vs. 6.7.
    * Normal steam output is 150g, which is good vs. 135g, but steam shot is 180g vs. 470g
    * The mains lead is a little longer at 1.9m vs. 1.8m
    * The tank is only 1.3 litres vs. 1.8, but that may not matter too much — at least it’s removable for easy filling
    * Total weight is only about 3.8 vs vs. 5.1; whether that’s good or bad is another matter

I could carry on with statistics but that’ll do. Descaling method is fundamentally different. The Philips has a de-calc plug that just has to be unscrewed over the sink to let water and scale out, when the warning light and beep notify you it’s necessary; that happens about once per month, for us. The Russell Hobbs has a cartridge that has to be replaced periodically, according to water hardness and amount of ironing — that’s after about 100 uses in a soft water area but more often if you have hard water. I haven’t checked the cost of cartridges. The RH has a filter to clean every so often too.

We feel the glide is a little better with the Philips. So is handle comfort.

I think that’ll do. There are plenty of other factors but that’s enough to tell me the Philips is a more desirable iron. Of course, price comes into it too, potentially in a big way. There’s no price yet for the Russell Hobbs but I bet it’ll be a lot cheaper than the Philips which is 249 at present, although often below 200.

The Russell Hobbs is a good iron and, if it comes in at less than 120, it’ll make a good buy. At much more than that, I’d keep an eye on the Philips price (use camelcamelcamel or keepa) and buy when it drops below 200.

In my life I change so many irons and its quite hard to fine a good one.
I can definetly recommend this one. Its very easy to use and will surely last for edges.
The iron itself is very lightweight. Ironing clothes well, not leaving any wrinkles.
Works great for jeans and all hard material clothes.
After using it as a purifier I dont see any limescales inside.
Im very satisfied with this iron.
And surely can recommend it to all.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a very good quality steam generator iron, it was our first time using this type of iron rather than the small conventional iron we are used too.

Once set up and up and running this iron is amazing , it’s very easy to use and you can adjust the amount of steam with ease using the steam dial, it is very powerful with 4.5 bar pressure, it heats up very quickly too.

We tested it out ironing the kids uniforms for the week ahead and it made the job much easier , it glides effortlessly through creased school shirts and trousers.

The only thing about this type of iron is the bulkiness of the whole unit, I like that the cords are neatly stored away though so no loose wires, to be fair it’s not as bulky as I first thought and fits in our kitchen cupboard where we kept our old iron.

If you have the room to store this iron away then it’s definitely worth getting, it has a large 1.3 litre water tank too so you don’t have to refill too often.

I love the black and copper design, it looks very stylish and modern, i really like it , we needed a new iron and this is brilliant , I’m not sure on the price point of this iron at the time of review but it is excellent quality
It has an anti limescale system too which is excellent.

I’m very impressed with the quality and performance.

It’s quite difficult to rate this without knowing the price; I’ve had a few steam generator irons which have ranged in price from 60 up to 200+. This one has more features than my last one in that it has a cable tidy, yet another more expensive iron had a retractable cable which was brilliant.

This one looks a bit square and clunky if I’m honest, but on the plus side the iron itself is very light. Comparing it with other irons from the same manufacturer which is c70 and assuming this is a similar price then it’s worth 4-5 stars. If it’s over 100 then I would only rate it 3 stars as it’s not great value for money.

Steam generator have revolutionised ironing in my view, but some of the early units has a few flaws, this Russell and Hobbs unit has addressed all or at least most of them to give you an outstanding ironing experience. Ironing is not a fun activity and this unit makes it much easier and faster. This unit has some very helpful features, first of all it fits on the end of my ironing board perfectly, the handles make it much easier to move about, the controls and well placed for easy adjustment and it is very powerful which combined with an excellent weighted head make ironing significantly easier and faster. As an example the last photo shows the result on a flat sheet folded 4 times, the steam penetrates all 4 levels- really good performance. Russell and Hobs have gives us an outstanding package in this unit and I can’t recommend it too highly.

This is a good idea and may save you time refilling water with a normal iron if you are doing a lot of ironing but a bit big and clunky to get out if you just need to iron a top to go out in. The iron is light weight but a small sole plate and you need to keep your fingers on the steam button all the time and if you have a problem with your hands and grip like my wife this is not for you. Our Gold Phoenix from JML at 50 is a better iron with constant stream with one press of the button and a large sole plate. I filled the water tank to the max level using a Pyrex jug and got 2 1/2 litres and a third was left with 1/4 litre left so I think that makes it 1.25 litres.

Yes Russell Hobbs are a great brand and this is a great iron for a lot of people but just not us. The build quality is excellent as you would expect from this brand hence the 4 stars. For my wife an iron with a constant steam button that you don’t need to keep hold of like the gold phoenix is what she needed and has now.

Not for people with hand grip problems.

We are not a household that enjoys ironing, but I really do love this iron — A breeze getting a large basket of ironing done. The downside is that it is rather bulky and large, so I had to find some storage and it does hog up all the space even though it can be stored upright.
Other than that, this is a quality brand that I trust. This is a strong powerful iron – durable and made to last. It removes tough crease quickly and easily. The actual iron itself is really light and glides ever so smoothly over clothes with the option to change the steam level with ease.

The settings on the iron are in an easy-to-reach place and the base that holds the water has a large capacity, more than enough for me to complete the large load. Love the cord and hose storage and there are clear instructions included. When you finished it locks into place and is secure and can then be carried as one to store away. It looks nice too (for an iron)

Amazing with pretentious fabrics, the steams helps with wrinkles leaving clothes in perfect condition – large water tank. Realy excited about limescale prevention and I think this will help a lot with the iron durability. Heating really fast – 60 seconds so if you are in a hurry this will help a lot; copper ceramic soleplate and auto power off. Amazing device and a great addition to my house, I have already ditched my old iron.

    Amazing steam iro

Russell Hobbs steam generated iron is simple to set up and works really well. The tank is super easy to fill and empty & the heat is brilliant, I think my favourite part is the plug storage, Mades ironing so much faster, I literally breeze through the ironing, steam flow is excellent with 4 steam settings, gets the toughest wrinkles out, 60 seconds fast heat up, Good size tank (1.3 litres) so don’t need to keep refilling, great for a busy household, easily to store in an upright position. Comes with two handy carry handles so your able to carry it from A to B safely. I highly recommend

Absolutely Love the Russell Hobbs steam iro

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAll in all it’s a big old thing, it’s mainly the base as the actually iron is lightweight and compact.
It rather intimidated me initially, I made sure to read the instruction from cover to cover.
Turns out it’s actually rather simple, while there is some do and don’t the actual set up and use is easy peasy.
You just add the water and pick your setting and your away.
Short wait time to wait for the steam to generate and some strange noises but nothing too inconvenient.
Excellent ironing ability, it’s much smoother and thorough then my regular iron.
It’s glides over clothing with little resistance.
Gets out even the most stubborn creases.
I also like that I can use it like a hand held steamer for when I have light creases I need to remove that don’t require a proper going over with an iron.
The water tank is large in capacity and will hold a lot of water.
While it is a bulky item the power cord sticks around the base and has a a slot for the plug sockets to slip into keeping it tucked away and safe from damage.
Overall I love it, it’s highly functional and has an attractive copper design … what’s not to love.

    Ironing perfectio

This is a well put together steam iron that pumps out plenty of steam on use. The iron itself is light enough to use for hours on end and the tank needs refilling after around 30 mins of intensive ironing. We like the variable rate of steam and the design which is elegant. Not sure of price point at the point of review so diff to establish value, but we have had another one of these at 300 and this is comparable.

This is a heavy and relatively big item. Thissteamgenerator means not only freshens up clothes but also helps reduce theironingtime.

    Things I liked:
    * very powerfulsteamgeneration (4.5bar pressure)
    * great for touching up creases
    * kills 99.9% bacteria and germs

    Things I disliked:
    * very heavy
    * cumbersome pipe
    * ironwater tank needs to be nearby
    * setup and after usage is a big hassle

Overall, it might save youironingtime, but the reality is it takes overall longer if you factor in the setup (water filling) and after usage clean up. It’s great it kills germs/bacteria especially during the pandemic but it’s not very convenient to use.
