About your Russell Hobbs microwave
Microwave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler.
Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through.
Cleaning:
Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages.

Avoiding Mishaps
To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:
Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)
– These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.
High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)
– These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.
Foods containing alcohol
– Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.
Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)
– Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape.

This microwave looks really nice and matches our other cream kitchen appliances. The mirrored front gets fingerprints on easily, but it’s not a big issue. There are a lot of functions I’ll never in all honesty use, but they may be useful to some people (e.g. weight/time defrost/cook, pre-sets, auto-cook by ingredient etc). I just press the 30 secs button the number of times I want something heated, and for that, it does the job brilliantly! If I had one quibble it’s the yellow light inside – I wish it were whiter, as it’s a bit odd. It’s also tricky to see inside when things are cooking, but I think most microwaves are. The red clock is quite bright and I wish it was perhaps a different colour (white or blue perhaps), but again, not a big deal.
Bought this item in 2021. Not even 3years old yet. Was using it to heat porridge for 2mins 30 secs and it BURST into flames!!
The circular ring with plastic wheel that the rotating plate sits on seems to have caught fire, melted itself AND MELTED THROUGH THE GLASS PLATE as per the photograph’s. Took hours for the smell to leave. Phoned RH. NO HELP “out of warranty. Take it up with your seller, Amazon”.
DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS. They (RH) had to do a product recall for similar reasons on their combo microwave/oven product a few years back so what does that say about the quality of their products and them only having a 1year guarantee? I registered this product the day I received it. What was the point? I WILL NEVER BUY RH AGAIN especially as the customer service was so bad. Not even an acknowledgment or apology for the stress and disruption this caused me!! DISGRACEFUL
Nice, sleek, compact design. Much faster and more efficient at heating and cooking through than any previous microwave I’ve used. Only concern is that the door opening button feels weak.
Sleek and stylish looking, exactly what I was looking for . For the style and size of my kitchen fits in perfectly . Easy to use , haven’t used it for everything it do yet , but basic use absolutely perfect, cleans well. Only negative I can say about it if I’m being picky is the plate seems to clunk around a little when in use but it’s in place properly and won’t come off so absolutely fine , very good purchase overall and very happy.
I ordered my second microwave after mine eventually gave up.
But was handled roughly and had to replace two orders. But quality with Russell Hobbs is amazing- exceptionally pleased. And issue was sorted out.
Bought this to match the toaster & kettle, was a bit overwhelmed when it arrived I thought I’m not going to get the hang of this, but once I started using it it’s brilliant, love how you can defrost by weight or time. it looks great on the kitchen worktop, really pleased I kept trying it was worth it.
Does the job for us as a couple however the clock on these runs a few mins faster.
After a month’s use the clock was 4min ahead of time. I know someone who has the same microwave with the same issue.
Not major but inconvenient when running late for work.

The handbook that came with the microwave was extremely confusing, and I resorted to a trial and error method in order to use the microwave!!! The technical department needs to address this issue.
I have kept the microwave simply because of its cosmetic appearance which is pleasing and I was restricted to choice because I needed an oven in a cream colour.
I hope this review will help future purchasers.
This was bought for my elderly father as his old one had broken after many years. He adapted to this one straight away and so it was a great buy. The only downfall I have is that you can not see through the door while your food is cooking as it has a mirror finish to the window area. This has been a bit of an issue when dad was cooking scrambled egg or warming milk as you can’t see the item rising so can cause a spillage.
Colour is good but the display light is really bright and very red. Not ideal- we’re trying to think how to cover it as it stands out in the kitchen. Interior light is a strange yellow, but that’s less important. Just weird. Otherwise seems fine.
Bought for my MIL when her 32yo microwave died. Easy to use, just big enough for Microwaveable dinners and small dinner plates. Ideal for the 89yo MIL. It does have 3 power settings. If it were me I would just have one and make it even simpler. A great buy.
Pleased with this microwave even though I haven’t yet quite worked out how some elements of it work…but that is down to me rather than the quality of the microwave. It’s been great so far.

Lovely colour. Nice interior. I deliberately downgraded to a smaller microwave from a combi. This take up little space and does a good microwave job. However, the door mechanism sometimes sounds wrong. Also occasionally the button push for the door stays in and springs out late. I’m on watch and wait.
Lovely colour, easy to use and reasonably powerful. Overall, I think it was well worth the money and would recommend.
All modes work well, only thing against is weight te33nds to go for a walk due to door opening and closing.

Can’t go wrong with this product. Slick and liking the reflective door, makes up for the slightly cheap looking interface. Only issue is it’s not the most intuitive product to use. If like me you’re used to ignoring the instructions and just figuring it out as you go, you may encounter problems. However, a quick peruse of the instructions will make it clear.

Bit annoying that you need to fiddle around with it, ie. knob twiddling to set time. Probably should have bought digital but there you go. Works fine though.

here isnt much really to say about this item, except it works and i am really happy with it, can make a hot cuppa cadbury’s choco before bed, where before i had to boil the milk on the stove.
This is a direct replacement for my broken Micro wave and it performs just as I expected with no problems. I would recommend this product to anyone.
Good microwave that so far has done the job perfectly well. Hasn’t had any problems in the two weeks I’ve been using it. Would prefer analogue controls to digital, as setting the power levels actually requires reading the instructions, rather than simply turning a dial! People love making things more complex than they need to be.
Works fine although clock runs fast which bothers me more than it should.
Otherwise easy to use and looks quite smart.
Oh and the tray keeps popping out the holder when you take stuff out, but then most microwaves have the same problem I find. Still 4 stars, which is fine so buy it.

Nice looking with mirrored front. The dials can be a tad sensitive which means you are frequently having to reset it but has a lot of functions and is decent value for money
I bought this mainly due to it matching other appliances I had, the product so far is ok but i would with the benefit of experience avoid Russel Hobbs products as I have had had lots of trouble with their toasters and found that their attitude to customer concerns leaves a lot to be desired.
Really love the aesthetic of this, fits perfectly in my new white kitchen along side my light blue appliances. The functions are really simple, its really easy to set the time which is ideal for when it gets turned off at the socket by accident.The front is very easy to clean, any finger prints simply wipe away.
Another good product from a good solid company. Once you get used to the working of this microwave (which took 5 mins)
it does everything you could ask of it. It looks great with it’s mirror finish front panel which accents the deep red lustre colour of the unit
