Microwave Hints and Tips

About your Russell Hobbs microwaveMicrowave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler. Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through. Cleaning Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages. | How to get the best cooking resultsReheat With 5 microwave power levels to choose from, you can ensure all your food is cooked or re-heated to the perfect temperature. Auto-Defrost This microwave has automatic defrost settings, all you have to do is input the weight of the food, and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time. Auto Cook Menus The RHM2076’s also features pre-programmed auto cook menus such as pizza, fish and popcorn, allowing you to cook all your favourite food at the push of a button. | Hints and tipsTo avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following: Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate) – These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all. High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups) – These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven. Foods containing alcohol – Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite. Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes) – Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape. |

Surprisingly good
Best thing about it is a one button push that gives you 30secs, eg: heat my milk for coffee, 3 pushes, go, microwave food 6 pushes, stir 3 pushes piping hot.
Simple no faffing about turning knobs
Good easy to use microwave.
Seems like a very good microwave. Been using it almost every day for a couple of months now and no problems at all. Would be good if the internal light was brighter and I’d love to make the red digital clock another colour. But both minor things. Microwave is easy to use..
One looks at the short instruction book and it’s all obvious. I can thoroughly recommend.
Good
It works well and it’s more silent than my previous oven. As a downside, I would’ve preferred a push button to open the door, instead of just pulling the handle. Sometimes hands are dirty, but a finger or the back of a finger might be clean.
An alright mecrow wavay
Considering my last microwave went up in flames I can confidently say this product su- is great. The only issue is the glass turntable does not like to stay in the correct spot at times if the plate is on the heavier side (Judging). I started degrading it out of anger and the microwave turned on, must be a faulty switch but that’s alrigh
Has a clock not like the Argos one bought a week ago, used for a couple of days both now storage!
This one really does have a clock not like the last one we bought from Argos which was 20 more expensive than B&M a week ago, not 100% sure 20 litres I calculate 18 litres but used it for a couple of days, and got the true 20 litre old one going again (new magnetron & mica window) a Morphy Richards to use from now on…..:-) We got 3 microwaves now…..:-) What a fiasco that was! So we have 2 Russell Hobbs microwaves up for sale soon! One without a clock timer and one with an inside light and clock timer…..
not intuative
The controls are not intuitive. It would feel more natural if the knob turned clockwise to bring up the timer, and anti clock wise for the presets. How often does anybody use the presets or understand them?
Top Banana 🍌
5 stars. This microwave gets the full ‘Top Banana’ rating
Great quality product, as you would expect form Russell Hobbs
The black finish is sleek and looks stylish. I like how the inside is a grey-ish colour, rather than white. The buttons are simple to understand and easy to press, even with arthritis in my hands
The noise at the end of the process is 5 digital beeps, which is handy just in case you don’t hear the first four
It comes with clear instructions that it is for food and drink only. Don’t be putting any hot water bottles, heat pads etc in there or it can cause fires
The power and performance are what you would expect from a well-known, reliable brand
It’s nice that the display is digital and you can set the clock, if you like, or it just remains on 00:00
Great microwave for 67. Highly recommended
Faulty Microwave
This item is faulty. There is a hole in the door. This happened last week. I have already reported this but I’ve had no contact from yourselves. Can you tell me what’s happening please. I cannot use the microwave and needed it sorted. I was told someone would pick it up on Monday 12th of August. Is this right.
I think this is a really nice and simple microwave.
The instructions are in a very clear big font so it’s very easy to read. The microwave itself I found was pretty easy to use. I did have to reference the instructions for a couple of things like setting the clock and setting the power level but it wasn’t difficult.
The weight of the microwave is pretty standard for a microwave this size. It’s a pretty small microwave considering others on the market so this is probably one of the more lighter microwaves I have ever purchased.
I have only used the microwave on max power but, it’s had no issues heating up my food and the noise of the microwave while it is being used is pretty standard.
I absolutely love the mirror finish door. It just looks so nice in my kitchen. The only downside is, you’ve got to keep it clean otherwise any dirt marks are more visible than a standard painted door. The only thing I will say is viewing my food through the door is possible but, I don’t have the best view as with other microwaves.
The light inside is pretty standard for a microwave, it’s a ‘warm white’ colour which makes viewing inside the microwave nice and easy.
I like the feature of having the clock on the front of the microwave while it’s on standby. The only thing I would like is to be able to change the colour of the LED’s from red to blue or even just a nice white. I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest fan of the red.
This microwave is absolutely perfect for what I need and I’m extremely chuffed.
I cannot recommend this microwave enough. It’s super simple but does the job absolutely perfect.
I find the microwave easy to clean but the only thing I would mark it down on is, it would have been nice to have an enamel cavity wall inside. I expect this microwave may suffer from rust in the future but, time will tell.
For the features this microwave has, I think the price is about right.
It is always difficult to pick a replacement for household goods when the previous item has lasted the test of time and did its job really well, and this was the case with our previous microwave oven which took 15 years of very heavy duty use!
So we had to do our research to find another suitable Microwave, that would suit our needs for “not too big, but not too small”, powerful enough at 800w and with some easy to use functionality (just a few buttons with digital display and some quick access functions) and finally smart looking as our previous oven looked somewhat a bit industrial. The Russell Hobbs RHM2076B 20 Litre 800 W Black Digital Solo Microwave check all the boxes as well as being good value for money too. We have been using it flat out daily since we bought it and it is doing a great job, being very easy to use (very intuitive functions), saving us a lot of time whilst looking neat and smart on our kitchen worktop. it is nice and quiet, smooth in operation and everything feels quality like, from the buttons press to the door opening closing. It is also very easy to clean and keep clean with simple flat bold surfaces and not too many nooks and crannies, buttons, etc… Very easy to live with and I would highly recommend.
For small households..
This is a beautiful looking little microwave, the best feature has to be the mirrored door,my last one was 1000 watts and it burnt everything and trying to clean it was a nightmare.I only have a small household now so this is big enough for my needs and my lifestyle now . Russell Hobbs is a good make and the price I purchased it for was a great deal thank you Amazon! The 800 watts is perfect for what I use it for..If you are looking to fill a big space then I would look for a larger one..If you are a single person or two people then this is perfect.. Highly recommend..
Great small Microwave
Was a bit worried it would be too small but does the job perfectly and has been completely fine with our biggest plates. Looks really clean and very straightforward to use.
