About your Russell Hobbs microwaveMicrowave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler. Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through. Cleaning: Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups) – These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven. Foods containing alcohol – Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite. Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes) – Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape |

I am so pleased with this microwave . It is so easy to use even my husband can use it. He alway struggled with our last one we had that was digital and you needed to press this and that and also turn a knob and if you didn’t do it in the right order it wouldn’t work. This is so easy. You do have to turn the timer to 2 minutes first and if you want less time you just need to turn it back to what you want. This is not a problem. I have bad arthritis my hands but the switches are easy to turn. It also looks lovely in our kitchen as the cream matches the rest of my items. I highly recommend it. 5*****
I’m very happy and it’s working well, I’ve just had it for a week or so. It’s a nice size and I really like the cream colour and neat look.
Was looking for a microwave to warm the food and heat the milk for a nice latte and have no digital display. It ticked all the boxes.
However, there are two drawbacks: the noise is a bit louder than my old SANYO one and the light is not bright enough because of the mirror front.
The mirror front looks nice but to compensate that the designer should have choosen a brighter light so the inside was visible when in operation.
The black and silver colour looks lovely in my kitchen and the microwave itself works very well. Very happy with my purchase!
We recently furnished the entire kitchen with appliances from a famous italian designer. The microwave they make (and charge 1500) is an absolute useless piece of rubbish.
We decided to buy an additional one and chose this Russell Hobbs one because I previously had one, I knew it was small and easy to add to a fully equipped kitchen and it looks gorgeous. It fits in perfectly with those overpriced, good looking appliances, no different at all. Simple controls, great looking materials, no irritatating noise, not to mention a great price. 10/10 from me. Will never again fall for the designer brands gimmick.
simple to use and does what it needs to. does seem a bit pricey for this feature point though.. and had my wife not insisted on red I probably would have got a cheaper version in a white/black/silve
This is a basic microwave – no frills but suitable for simple jobs – heating drinks etc. Timing is in minutes rather than seconds which is slightly disappointing. However, a reliable basic rather than complicated all singing & dancing cooker.
Simply select the power level with one, and the time with the other.
Much quieter than my previous one. The only downside is that I find the light display isn’t very bright when cooking.
However , overall I must say am very pleased with this product.
A basic model but does what I need it to do, which is warm things up. Can be a bit slow and was going to return it for this but decided to keep it as it’s easy for the kids to use. Looks nice too.

Simple to use without any complicated unnecessary digital displays as far as I’m concerned.
There are three things I found irritating.
1. There are no seconds on the dial, so have to guess when it’s ready if in, say, for 3 1/2 mins.
2. No light when it’s operating.
3. There is no clock
Too basic a machine for me, but too late to return it. However, it will be fine for some people’s needs.
Does what it says on the tin. Seems solid and well made. Only negative is that the controls are not easy to read unless it’s in a well lit area.
We wanted a small, simple microwave, without any bells and whistles, and this fitted the bill perfectly. Perfect for our needs.

Admittingly I don’t use it on a daily basis, probably a couple of times per week. However it does the job in defrosting and cooking food and (as yet) I’ve had no problems with it.
It looks nice as well, quite retro in design. I’d recommend one of these if you haven’t got much cash to spend.

I’ve had this microwave for a year now and I’m really pleased with it. It works well, looks nice and doesn’t take up much space in my kitchen. It can be a bit tricky if you want to heat something for less than a minute (the timer isn’t very precise), but it’s not a deal breaker.

Just what I needed a basic microwave but never thought to check if it has a light and it doesn’
I would have preferred the first 5min timer was further apart as sometimes difficult to set 1 or 2. minutes. But other than that it’s great.

Did what it said on the box, inexpensive an easy to use.
Takes a little longer to heat stuff but then it’s only 700 watts . But it’s ideal .

Its very compact,no lights or lit up clock thus saving electricity to and very simple to use.Well done Russell and Hobbs.
The size is perfect for my small kitchen, I would not have fit a larger model in.
The only thing I will say as a heads up is to check you have the head clearance (30 cm) and side clearance (7cm) when the microwave is in situ or like I do, just slide it out a bit from under the overhead cabinets before using. Like any operating machinery, not following these instructions could compromise the function or damage the microwave- it has vents on the side which need the 7cm clearance and can get hand warm on top, so needs head clearance to prevent overheating.
It makes a normal loud microwave hum but if it starts making an unusual noise or accumulating an excessive amount of steam, I would stop using it immediately but, early days, so far it is a great and attractive addition to my kitchen, matching my R&H toaster as well as my retro cream and chrome kettle (of another brand).

Like microwave very much. Compact, dials easy to read but note it is only 700 watts. This is more than enough for my usage. Use for baked potatoes, ready meals, breakfast porridge.

This microwave is very easy to use since it literally is just two dials on the front. No screen or digital components which could sometimes be confusing. Very easy to clean, just a standard microwave really. Would definitely recommend.
Got this to replace our old faulty microwave. It had to be red as we have a red toaster & kettle. And the chrome handle on the door just made this microwave look the part also impressed with the price considering it’s from Russell & Hobbs!

Bought this for my elderly mother in law as it has ‘retro’ dials and is easy for her to use. She seems unable to use push button devices so this is ideal for her. Looks good in her worktop. Very neat size too
Interestingly you supplied a BLACK MODEL instead of the cream which I ordered!!! We didn’t notice until the delivery man had left, but because it fitted in with our dcor there was need to complain. Obviously more up to date than the model we had had for many years. Like everything else it is fine when you get used to using it. hank you for quick response to my request.
Bought this microwave to replace my old one. I like the colour to match my other kitchen appliances. The timer not digital, so if you want to heat under one minute (for example, 10 seconds) , you have to count by yourself. Except this, I quite like it.
i will use it post operatively in bedroom after having three major shoulder ops 2 on one side and three the other side
there are no timing guidelines or temperature advice or cooking recipes until i receive these i can not safely use it all searches have proved fruitless
Recently moved house and forgot to bring my microwave from my old house. Been without one for about 4 months but found we were wasting money on food we would throw away that we would of had as left overs when we had a microwave so bought this one. Brillant price and looks smart too.
