The stand works really well with my new 24″ iMac M1. It is a very well made product, even though a bit expensive, well worth it.
My only issue is the earphone jack doe not seem to work with any airbuds I plug in – even in sound settings only internal iMac speakers show up.

I found this hub while looking for a better USB hub. The bonus is that it raises the iMac just enough for a comfortable level. It’s also nice not to have to reach over the iMac in to connect and disconnect my USB cables.
The stand arrived 2 days before it was due , so delivery was excellent. I was surprised the item arrived with just an address label on the stand box and no protective packaging! The stand raises my iMac 24″ just enough to allow ease of viewing the screen and enough for FaceTime meetings. Connection to my iMac was very simple, detach the cable from the underside of the stand and plug the USB-C cable into the thunderbolt port. I have connected 3 external hard drives to the Usb ports on the front and was able to read, transfer the contents of the drives between drives with out issue. The Micro SD drive is a bit fiddly especially when trying to eject the card. The stand is unobtrusive and fits neatly under the iMac. The stand is a bit pricey for what you are getting. Overall no issues yet with the stand, long may it continue.

Me ha resultado muy til porque tengo puertos USB y SD al frente de mi iMac. Quienes tienen una saben a que me refiero.
Entre los puntos buenos est el que los puertos USB A cargan tus dispositivos sin problema y que la velocidad de lectura de la ranura para tarjetas SD es bastante rpida.
No es punto malo, pero lo nico que le falta a esta base para ser perfecta, sera que el puerto USB C tambin cargara tus dispositivos. Aunque entiendo que eso requerira conectarla a corriente y sumara otro cable y un adaptador de corriente.

Got this to go with a new M1 iMac. Fully Meets requirements. Well built and nicely designed. It’s very convenient having some USB ports on the front. The new iMacs don’t have optical drives – the stand provides a perfect space for an Apple SuperDrive to sit under the iMac (Note that the SuperDrive has to be plugged directly into the back of the iMac. The Satechi hub doesn’t provide enough power through its USB ports).

Lo uso con un IMac 2021, prima cosa che si nota la tenuta del piede del Mac, su qualunque superficie scivola, su questo no, rimane ben fermo, le porte funzionano bene, nell’utilizzo i piedini in gomma lo rendono ben stabile sulla scrivania, non si muove di un mm all’inserimento di periferiche USB, unico neo la porta USB-C che purtroppo pi lenta di quelle sul Mac e non ricarica i dispositivi collegati. L’altezza a mio parare perfetta, e la qualit ottima. Consigliato.
ealmente deberan haber tenido la opcin de comprar esto sin el HUB y / o venderlo con un HUB de mejor calidad. Insertar cualquier cosa en las ranuras USB se siente desagradable y rgido. Estar rgido en un soporte que soporta un iMac es un diseo muy malo.

Yes it costs a little more than some USB Hubs but this Hub is the perfect companion for my 27 inch intel iMac 2021. Solid build and providing those extra Usb (x3) and USB C (x1) Front facing inputs which makes for quick and easy access for external drives. I haven’t made a direct comparison of transfer speed differences against the rear inputs of the iMac but they are quick enough for my needs (certainly not slow by any means). The Front SD Card slot is also appreciated. No more searching around the rear of the iMac hoping you don’t scratch the aluminium as you try to locate a slot.
I was looking for a decent way of providing some front facing USB sockets as well as a card reader for photos. (instead of having to move the monitor and blind insert) I considered the strap-on version but didn’t like the idea of part blocking cooling vents so went for this model.
I am well pleased with the result as it raises the screen to a better viewing height and provides space for iPhone and even DVD or small drive.
The construction is solid and it looks really good with all the slots performing as expected. It will charge phone or watch and even powers USB drives but not an iPad. (There is a small machining burr on the mini slot (see pic) but barely noticeable unless you look hard hence missing star)
Price is on the high side but I am happy as some thought has gone into producing a high quality and useful product.

Ottimo prodotto, finitura e qualit dei materiali di prim’ordine. Ora la scrivania molto pi ordinata e pratica con le connessioni usb frontali a portata di mano, cos come il lettore di schede. E’ il secondo acquisto di prodotti Satechi e devo di che mi trovo molto soddisfatto. Rapporto qualit/prezzo eccellente.

Ho girato la base per avere le connesioni a destra, cos ho risparmiato un po’ di spazio di fronte.
Utilissima l’uscita audio a cui ho collegato due casse. Il mac la vede come “iMac Stand Audio” cos posso “switchare” fra audio del mac, cuffie (collegate all’uscita audio del mac) e casse!
Connettori con aggancio solide e senza giochi e utile lettore di schede.

Por ponerle un pero, el cable que viene es muy corto y no llega al iMac, he tenido que poner un alargador.
The stand looks like it was part of the iMac package. It fits perfectly and does the job brilliantly. It comes with a USB Type C connector the plugs straight into one of the two dedicated port on the back of the iMac. Along the slimline front panel are the inputs – three USB 3.0, one USB type C, one each of standard SD and Micro SD ports. The hub works perfectly and I paired mine with the ORICO Powered USB Hub 3.0 13 Ports USB Data Hub with Individual Switches and Indicators. Also available on Amazon.

Der Satechi ist zwar recht teuer, sieht aber hochwertig aus und ist wirklich stabil um einen i-Mac 27″ darauf zu stellen. Die Gummife halten mit dem i-Mac drauf absolut fest. Die Erhhung um etwa 4,8cm sind optimal fr den Schreibtisch. Der Anschluss per USB-C ist zeitgem, zukunftssicher und oft nicht bei den gnstigeren Varianten vorhanden.
Die Ladefunktion an den USB-A Anschlssen funktioniert auch einwandfrei. Alles in Allem eine Langzeitinvestition, die sich lohnt. Und ein schlankes externes Bluray-Laufwerk passt auch prima drunter ! (Max. 2,5cm)
Tip: Da Preissprnge von gerne min 10,- in kurzer Zeit, lohnt sich der Vergleich im Netz !

When used as a hub, the transfer rates are acceptable. Please note, not all transfer rates are the same – computer speed, processing power, and hub transfer speed (both read and write) will be different for everybody. If you are experiencing slow transfer speeds, it may not be the hub.
As for everything else, the hub works well and yes, I would buy another if required.
Un po caruccio ma comodissimo perch alza il monitor di qualche centimetro, le porte USB, USB c, lettore di sd, micro ad e uscita per le cuffie, sono veramente comode in posizione centrale.

At first glance, the Satechi stand seems very expensive but in reality it is really well made and highly functional.
First, it is a well crafted piece of aluminium that equals the quality of the iMac itself.
Second, connecting to one of the iMac’s USB ports, it provides 3x USB’s, 1x USBc, a headphone socket and a card reader, all conveniently on the front of the stand.
Third, it lifts the iMac up by about 30mm which, for me, is a more comfortable height.
In summary, a very nice addition to the iMac which looks and feels as if it were actually made by Apple. It even allows an Apple, or other make, DVD drive to sit neatly tucked inside.
Well worth the money!
Wer einen Mac besitzt sollte unbedingt dieses Teil kaufen. Kleines Teil, groe Wirkung. Ihr glaubt garnicht wie jetzt der Schreibtisch vllig anders aussieht. Mehr Platz, viel mehr Anschlsse……..
As good as the iMac is, for me there are 2 fundamental design issues I have with the current iMac design:
1. Lack of height adjustment
2. Access to connection & expansion ports positioned on rear of iMac.
This stand increases the height of the monitor to improve the ergonomics and provides easy access to additional ports at the front. The stand is subtle but blends in and it is the simple design that works so effectively.
It’s a shame that Apple cannot or will not improve the iMac design, at least Satechi have designed a solution that looks good and works.
Lo stand molto ben fatto con ottimi materiali. Esteticamente bello. Personalmente per, trovo scomodo avere le porte di usb, schede ecc davanti. Va bene ancora ancora con le penne usb piccole, ma con i hard disk esterni con il loro cavi, occupano troppo spazio davanti alla testiera e crea una confusione di cavi sopra la testiera. Questo problema per facilmente risolto girando lo stand in modo che le porte sono al fianco dx o sx. Questo in se non un difetto del prodotto, una esigenza personale. Ho messo 4 stelle invece di 5 per il seguente motivo: l’uscita audio per ospitare il jack della cuffia fornisce un volume altissimo, anche regolando il volume dal computer, il volume rimane assordante. Lo trovo inultilizzabile. Altrimenti un buon prodotto e svolge bene il suo compito.
Eleganter, zweckmiger und gut durchdachter Monitorstnder fr den iMac. Bin zufrieden. Alle notwendigen Anschlsse sind jetzt von vorn zu erreichen. So soll es sein.
Zunchst fand ich den Preis etwas hoch aber die Verarbeitung wirkt hochwertig, durch die Erhhung kann ich das MacBook aufklappen und sehe trotzdem den gesamten Bildschirm des iMacs und die Steckpltze sind deutlich komfortabler zu erreichen als die Hinteren am iMac. Der Aufbau war kinderleicht und die Steckpltze konnten auf Anhieb verwendet werden. Ich wrde den Artikel jederzeit wieder kaufen und finde, dass das Preisleistungsverhltnis stimmig ist.

Ottimo articolo, era da un po che lo tenevo sott’occhio e appena andato in sconto l’ho acquistato, ottimo supporto per iMac, con 3 usb sulla parte anteriore evita la continua ricerca delle porte sul retro del Mac, inoltre ci sono sempre sulla parte anteriore una usb C e un lettore di schede SD. si collega facilmente tramite cavo usb C al Mac, ma in caso di Mac meno recenti viene fornito un adattatore usb tradizionale (A). spedizione rapidissima nonostante periodo natalizio e Covid.
Ich habe das Dock an einem LG 5K Ultra Fine. Das Dock ist da etwas zu kurz und der Standfu steht hinten etwas ber. Ansonsten funktioniert es mit seinen Anschlssen tadellos und lsst den Schreibtisch deutlich aufgerumter aussehen. Der Preis ist hoch. Mir war es das wert.
Love that it takes up very little space and the cord to the iMac can be tucked away cleanly in the back. It makes accessing the ports on the iMac so much easier. Be aware though that it doesn’t make sense to plug this into the USB-C port in your iMac since the max transfer speed of the stand is only 5Gbps i.e. USB 3.0. You will lose a USB-C port in your iMac if you do this. The good news is that the stand comes with the USB-C to a USB-A adapter. Also, note that the SD card reader on the stand is UHS-I speed and not UHS-II speed (as it is on the iMac).
Overall, very satisfied with this stand as it raises the iMac just right and provides access to some commonly used ports.
Easy to install. Well constructed. Having the iMac sit higher is an improvement for viewing. As described in the listing, USB-C port is only for data. It does not charge devices.
Il prodotto si presenta molto bene e molto ben fatto , perfettamente funzionale e la usb/c un ottima soluzione , unica pecca la stessa , non riesce a riconoscere l’iPad pro, ma tramite Usb/a l’iPad pro non ha problemi (stiamo parlando di un IMac del 2015) ma tutto il resto perfetto !!!

The problem with most USB hubs is that you require two hands to insert and remove your media – otherwise it just slides around your desk, because the hubs are so light.
With this Satechi hub stand, not only do you get an additional 45mm height elevation to your iMac, but now you have an extremely stylish well built hub that, because of the weight of your iMac, does not move around when using those ports. Some of you might already know this and not need convincing, but believe me, this is an efficient and tactile experience that really makes a difference.
Regarding the ports themselves, no issues with the USB A / C ports. All nicely aligned and easy to insert/remove. It’s also nice to see spring-loaded SD and MicroSD card slots! However, my only critique of these SD slots is that my iMac does not register both SD card slots at the same time. It’s either microSD OR the [standard] SD card at a time (first-come, first served basis). Shame, because at this price point I would have expected better (I’ve had 15 USB/ multi-SD card readers that are able to read both SD & microSD formats at the same time). The other thing is, the micro SD card is totally flush with the panel edge when inserted – making it a little tricky to eject, especially without the use of fingernails. No problem with ejecting the standard SD card which sits approx. 3mm proud when inserted.
There is as advertised, a 3.5mm headphone port also. Finally the only other feature on this stand is the whiteish-blue power light on the front panel. This LED is nice and subtle – not the ‘in-yer-face Christmas-tree light’ style brightness that some manufacturers think is necessary.
On the underside of the stand, there are two cable clip runners that are screwed into the aluminium base. This allows for a neat cable storage.
Overall, this is a stylish stand with a small desk footprint that compliments Apple’s aluminum cases and keyboards and there are no issues with stability or rigidity in supporting my 27″ iMac.
Yes, it is expensive – although I did purchase this from an EU Amazon site (compared to the .co.uk site, which is why this review doesn’t register as a ‘verified purchase’), it was still a cheaper price including shipping (at the time). Always pays to shop around – even on ‘Amazon’.
Based on the high-end price, the inability to read both SD card formats at the same time… and the stand’s unfulfilled potential, I give this 4/5 stars.
If you’re going to use this as advertised then you need read no further. I would buy this again and highly recommend it.
If however, you still prefer to have more connectivity options – especially the type of connections that are wired and ‘more than temporary’ that might look unsightly coming out of the Satechi front ports, then read on….

Perhaps I’ve understaded that I really love the look of this stand.. it should get 5/5 stars based on design, but I think Satechi missed an opportunity to fulfill it’s potential and provide further connection options at the rear (the space IS there!).
Therefore I decided to install some further add-ons that DON’T require any internal rewiring or modifications to the existing hub. (Please note: This has been done for ‘connectivity’ reasons. Not for ‘charging’ or ‘high-speed’ reasons – which in terms of speed results, I have not measured).
1) More USB ports. I have a printer, scanner, headphone amplifier, DAS devices, oldskool wired keyboard, photography equipment, etc. too many to name… You should never say no to more USB ports.
2) I have some ancient NAS drives that are no longer connected to the network and I really needed additional ethernet (LAN) ports that my mac doesn’t have.
Based on my requirements, I purchased two compact sized hub adapters and played around with the cable and connection layout with the Satechi stand. Be aware, some USB C ports might not work if the USB C connection is inverted. (Also, you should note that – as far as I’m aware, buying an aditional adapter/hub that features a ‘charging’ port, will not enable the hub to charge via that port when connected to the Satechi).
Then once everything was in place, with a little bit of ‘Sugru’ (a mouldable silicone glue), stuck them to the underside of the stand… and voila! No cable clutter and all out of sight. Even from the side of the stand you do not see these hubs or their cables.
So, in ADDITION to the front panel ports, I now have at the rear – 5x USB A ports, 2x USB C ports, 1x HDMI port, 2x LAN ports.
Technically I loose two ports on the 1st hub – One port is for the Satachi cable (to create the chain), plus another port is used to connect the 2nd hub – an AmazonBasics adapter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07V5K6LSF) which incidentally, actually fits the underside curved wall of the stand perfectly.
For me, this Satechi stand is now perfect – even though I may not think of a need for the HDMI port. But I am sure you could make some variations that could suit your needs better (there are plenty of different options for similar adapters/hubs out there) !

I evaluated several of these stands with built in USB hubs before deckling on this one and I am glad I did. This gives me a stylish minimalist look and functional mounting combination for my iMac 27″ desktop computer with easy from access to USB plug in devices and an adjustable height for comfortable working. An added benefit is that there is space on to store peripherals such as the mouse and also room to slide the keyboard under the glass stand on which this SATECHI plinth sits.
As well as raising the iMac to a better working height, it makes 3 USB ports, a headphone output, an SD card reader which is significantly more convenient than where they are on the iMac. Well made, well designed, solid and looks match with Apple design.
Doesn’t work on my 2019 imac even after I reset sound settings. Otherwise it very good.
For the price I was dissapointed in that.
Exactly as described and a simple way to bring ports to the front of an iMac. Use the included USB C to USB A converter and you won’t wast a precious thunderbolt port.
missfallen hat mir der Preis, aber das Rack ist natrlich sehr praktisch, der Bildschirm ist um 4,5 cm hher, gut fr die Sicht darauf, und vor allem die Anschlsse an der Front rechtfertigen dann schon irgendwo den Preis, da es schon recht fertig ist.

Its awesome, just the little height boost you need. All the ports work and the finish is the same than the one from the iMac 27.
Das Teil sieht edel aus und auf dem Tisch gibt es kein Kabelgewirr mehr. Vor allem kann man USB etc. ganz bequem von vorne anstecken und wieder entfernen. Das kriechen” hinter den iMac zum Anschlieen von USB-Gerten und/oder das einschieben einer Fotospeicherkarte entfllt. Auch hat man die anderen Anschlsse am iMac fr weitere Nutzungen frei, da nur 1 USB-C belegt wird. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Not sure how I lived this long without the stand previously. Total game changer; the elevation and accessory ease totally changes the experience.
I use the product for iMac27″. Good quality and convenient and practical.
