Just got the seek compact pro micro usb. To my surprise it works with my Galaxy S10+ and my Galaxy Tab S2! Just use a crossover and no problems. But I was expecting more with 320 x 240 resolution. Now all I have to compare it to is Flir one pro which I had for about 1 year and 6 months that died due to a battery problem and Flir refused to warranty. Flir is 160 x 120 resolution but uses 2 lenses to give a picture in infrared and an outline of the object. Makes it look more resolute than it is but it helps. But the seek dosent have a battery so no problems there and variable focus lens that can sharpen things up. The app isn’t the best but not the worst either. It only asked me for location and photo permissions and didn’t even ask to register the camera. I got to check that out. I got it on sale for $100 off so we will see how this goes.

Delivered what i wanted it to at a fraction of the high price of another camera. I was looking to see ceiling joist orientation. Image wasnt super clear and had to play around with the settings but was able to determine the orientation so i am immensely happy. It is incredibly portable small and it comes with an awesome protective case. Works with my lgg4

I first used one of these at work to debug PCBs , machinery, etc. Being able to see thermals is invaluable. I’ve been looking for a good paid of nods and they all… Kinda suck compared to this one. The sensor is just that much better. I feel spoiled. Please seek uwu

I am familiar with FLIR thermal sensors. They are still way overpriced. That also includes Chinese knockoffs. Coupling this technology to a phone is the way to go. Diagnosed & repaired HVAC & electrical problems with this already.

Nice resolution and refresh rate. As with most thermals it gets fussy depending on what it’s looking at. But overall nice little unit. Only complaints are the battery life, it will suck the phone dry pretty quick. Second it would be nice if you had more control over the temp range and width. Otherwise I would highly recommend

    That’s why I buy it.
And it’s still working after two years.

    Have some small issues:
Temperature is always higher than truth for 5 degree right after connection, then slowly drop to normal.
And After ~3 mins after connection, the calibration frequency will slow down, and image deteriorates.

A fairly accurate thermal camera at a fraction of the cost of other competitors. I highly recommend.

When using a thermal imager, red zones appear on the image at the edges of the screen when you look at the image in relatively cold areas. Apparently this is due to the fact that something in the thermal imager body heats up during operation. As a result, it is impossible to use the thermal imager for a long time and this causes some inconvenience. I bought for inspection of printed circuit boards during the repair.

The product is good. High resolution. affordable price.
    However, lack of compatibility.
The galaxy s3 all work fine. Cannot shoot galaxy s5 video.

Seek did a nice job on this camera. It’s smaller than I imagined. After installing the app, it works great with my “Galaxy ON 5” (so I had purchased the micro USB version, not the USB-C one). The phone is a spare, and after getting the app I just use it without an internet connection for this camera, and some Bluetooth gadgets I have. It has a manual focus adjust (rotating adjustment around the lens) that allows for crisper pictures at different distances, which is important. It re-scales the image every second or two as you move around so that the hottest item and coolest item fall at either end of the viewable spectrum, so you’re not just stuck looking at a saturated image. I wouldn’t claim that the on-screen temperature numbers are super accurate, but it gives a pretty good reference within what appears to be maybe 5% accuracy. I’ve used it to spot animals hiding in bushes, found some interesting rocks that seem to hold heat better than those surrounding them, inspected a leaky roof and could spot the source of the cold water better than the naked eye from standing on the floor, and the reason I bought it was to help troubleshoot circuit boards. In that regard it hasn’t really paid for itself yet, but certainly looks like it will after a while (it’s a comparison tool – compare a thermal picture of a known good board with a questionable failing board, so just takes time to establish a good baseline). I have been able to spot evidence of failed parts on boards that I already knew had problems – the camera just didn’t help ‘solve’ the problem because there are parts that don’t create heat because they are dead – I already knew they were dead, but now I know they’re not dead because of excessive current, so it’s probably an open – which makes sense. It was able to focus well enough on the boards to see evidence of warm traces on inner layers – which is super neat! This is not a $10,000 camera, so don’t expect it to be, but I’m certainly pleased with the quality of the image I’m seeing on this $270 gadget. Having never owned a thermal camera before, it’s so much fun to just walk around and check things out. You’re bound to find some interesting things that you didn’t expect.

Samsung galaxy s7. I need to reboot app or turn off turn on screen because very often temperatures scaless is very off the real. It can jump from -40 to +330 and do not display any other temperature.

Unit works as described. It will be much better as technology advances.

This worked well for showing all the hotspots in our system.

Works well with Seek recommended mico USB to USB-C Adaptors Visit their website for details. I had no problem with their app and device on my LG V20.
If you are worried about Location tracking being on, simply disable it inside the app. Its used to add GPS data to the exif info in a picture. You can also disable a bunch of other things like sending them details.
The picture is quite noisy, but given the tech, not too bad.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersClearly a better image than the lower pixel version. I have both. So many applications. Uses power through phone power port but not much.

emp is off by usually near 10f. You have to change emissivity settings depending on what you are using it for and it doesn’t auto focus you have to turn the lense deal. Aside from that it seems to work well

Used it on my dog when I first got it and was very happy with result. Took it hunting and saw a deer that was around my camp all week. It was total darkness when I detected her. Also saw a field mouse running down the road in total darkness. Haven’t used it on a car or anything else yet but very impressed with it and ease of setup and use!

Great product, works as described. Its very sensitive so be careful not to drop it on the floor.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo far so good!

It’s amazing how little heat this thing can detect. I’m using this on a Google Pixel XL, using a USB-C to USB-Micro adapter and it seems stable. You can literally track your foot steps through the house if you don’t run, or you can see exactly what was just touched by a hand or paw. I’m glad I bought it, but at almost $500 it’s a little bit of a novelty use item for my purposes right now.
