There is a slight smell as others have said, I’m presuming its cos it’s new. Does wot it says on the box
Very well packaged. Good value for money and being white is easy to clean as you can easily see if you have missed anywhere. It was slightly noisy but this was rectified by putting a sweety jar on the top. First rate at cooking/heating and defrosting food.
Liked the compact size.
Outer shell is covered in plastic which has quickly become snagged on regular use buttons – already looking slightly dowdy!
Instruction leaflet not very comprehensive – have had to guess how some operations work!
High-powered and a good size. Big enough to steam a large bowl of vegetables.
Simple controls — you just turn one dial for the power setting and another for the cooking time. You can set it going, then adjust the power level or cooking time with no need to stop and restart.
What I like best about this microwave oven is its absence of annoying features:
* No beeping digital touchpad
* No pointless pictures of chicken legs, pizza slices or potatoes
* No clock to reset every time there’s a power blip
Best of all, it emits a single ‘ping’ when the cooking time has ended. My previous microwave oven would beep three times, then repeat at regular intervals, until I did something with it.
Whilst this is exactly what I was looking for, if you want to time your cooking to the precise second, this is probably not for you.
Good price but i’m not keen on the buttons. There is no feel to them and they are quite small. The main button (start +30 seconds) is already marked when it is pressed with your fingernail. Overall it is okay for the price but I would not buy this brand again.
We don’t want to roast chicken or cook a three course meal or having to enter weights and half a dozen functions to start cooking. This microwave does exactly what you need with two knobs, jacket potatoes, soup, milk etc. simply and efficiently sorted. Our last Sharp microwave lasted eighteen years.
It works and is easy to use. I personally don’t like that the metal case can move out of position when carrying this product. Also it makes a terrible slam sound closing the door. When running it’s quite noisy.
We wanted a no fuss microwave with straight forward dials, not fancy keypads etc. This fits the bill nicely. Several sizes to choose from including the one we wanted, works a treat, so simple. We showed it to our elderly parents, who bought one too, then my brother also bought one & all parties are happy. If you want a straight forward, no fuss microwave from a name you can trust, this one has got to be worth a try.
This was a replacement for an earlier model Sharp microwave which cooked quickly and evenly. Unfortunately a heavy window mesh and inadequate light made it impossible to monitor food being cooked so one couldn’t see whether milk was boiling over. It also had a clock which ran slow and couldn’t be read in bright light. This model solves these problems with a much brighter light (now LED) and an accurate and visible in all lighting clock/timer in a nice shade of blue. Cooking performance can’t be faulted.
Excellent product the only thing is the clock illuminates but the rest of the panel doesn’t so hard to see otherwise I would’ve gave it 5 out of five.
It’s straightforward to use although the touch pad controls can be temperamental. Also it doesn’t feel as solid as our previous microwave (a 900 watt DeLonghi) on which the door closed quietly but with a reassuring ‘clunk’, whereas the Sharp door closes with a very loud metallic ‘slam’ sound and the turntable is noisier. (I suspect both these issues are due to the metallic construction). Having said that, it cooks quickly and evenly and has a much larger interior enabling it’s use for larger quantities and bigger cookware.
It still represents excellent value for money and would be ideal for the larger household.
This Sharp manual microwave oven has just two controls: power level and clockwork timer. Easier and more controllable than my costly, unreliable electronic type that had 12 confusing buttons / dials. Glad I chose a manual type for both my kitchens.
Adequate. Hard to set an exact time with the analog timer.
Needed new one looked through Amazon and this caught my eye.
It’s a great microwave that’s simple to use with turning nobs, not confusing digital flight deck technology touch screen panel.
Easy to clean too.
It’s perfect for what I need it for, the basics like defrosting, heating and re-heating food etc.
It is a micro micro lol as it is smaller than most. This for me is ideal as have limited space in my kitchen. Just be aware of the measurements given before buying.
I do think its a bit pricey for a basic microwave but it is a well known brand so I guess you pay for the brand name in this case.
Yes!! I would recommend!
There was an uncovered pointy bit (I think it was the end of a screw) underneath mine. I discovered this when it scratched my new kitchen worktop when I put it down, so I was not impressed by the quality. Other than that, the dial seems a bit inexact for short times and once or twice has cut out early on these (which tend to be what I use my microwave for most days – pretty much anything under a minute seems ropey).
That being said, my last microwave at a similar (cheap) price point was a Daewoo and while that one had nifty controls and a digital timer it also pretty quickly started cutting out due to overheating whenever I tried to cook something from frozen or half cook baked potatoes and wouldn’t restart till it cooled down – it didn’t last long before this started either! I would take a bit of imprecision over that any day (hopefully this one will last better – although it has just been a month so far). It has worked pretty well otherwise, and looks nice sitting in the corner of my (scratched :,() kitchen counter.
Does the job, easy to use. I’m just a bit mystified as to why the time display is so bright. It illuminates the kitchen. There is an eco setting that switches it off, but it’s a bit of a palaver because you have to open and then close the door, then press the button within so many seconds. Not sure how much electricity it saves when you use the setting at night, but it could be made a lot simpler with a single button press.
It’s Best Buy we got from Xmas vouchers and very easy to use
Does the job but there is no timer as such and can be quite hard to work out the time. Value for money as it is very fast and economical to use.
Great product easy to use nice item for a very reasonable price
Very happy with this purchase, only thing that could be improved perhaps is a bit more room to place a tall mug in it. Struggling to use microwaveable rice bags as they touch the ceiling and it doesn’t rotate propery.
I bought this for my elderly parents to replace their previous microwave which malfunctioned. They find it easy to use and have had no problems with it (touch wood).
The product I have purchased does everything I want it too.
An identical updated replacement for my decade old purchase that finally went BANG last Saturday. Only difference being a new black panel and silver dials, as opposed to white. Arthritic hands means keeping things familiarly easy to use, and this one is. Moderately different settings that forget to say the watts. So l wrote them down and stuck them on the wall. They’re listed in the manual. Oh yes, it does 800, 620, and 440. I’ve used it once yesterday on arrival, does what it says on the box, that’s good enough for me.
Easy to use , and got it at a bargain price on a black Friday deal
It’s a mirowave what more can I say? It’s a bit fiddley as I’m used to digital but I’m happy with it.
Excellent replacement for a Daewoo on a caravan. Perfect fit.
Very easy to operate as the lady is in her 80s and didn’t want anything complicated. Thank you
Works perfectly well and easy to use, push button controls and easy to clean. The controls appear to time out and cannot be used until the door is opened, this happened after overnight. Must be a safety feature but did make us think it was broken as we needed to adjust the clock and couldn’t, no buttons worked until eventually we opened and closed the door.success.must see if it mentions this in the manual,,,,,but hey blokes never read the manual until something is wrong do they, well I don’t!
Suggest that after every use the inside of the microwave is dried with kitchen towel as condensation is the worst enemy and it will cause trouble with flaking paint in the future, if you don’t do this step. Takes a couple of minutes but worth it!
Works excellent ,, looks very nice .. great value for the price
Good microwave to start gave up ghost yesterday 15 months old
The microwave is easy to use and has a nice design. It has enough internal space for what I use it for which is basically cooking vegetables, heating tinned beans, peas, soup etc., and the occassional micro meal.
The negatives are that the unside gets very wet so you have to wipe and dry it straight away as the instructions advise not to leave the door open.
The front of the microwave (the door and displays) seem to be made of plastic so feel a bit cheap, however it doesn’t spoil the look or functionality.
The
I wanted a microwave oven with two intuitive control knobs and adequate power. Simply, What power? and How Long? I did not want a grill and I did not want a complex membrane pad where I would need to put my glasses on and have to press it multiple times. Given these main requirements this oven is perfect. Given this basic specification I consider it to be excellent value for money.
When it comes to minor niggles, although 21L appears to be a popular size for microwaves it feels a little on the small side. Also the inside is painted dark grey which makes it pretty gloomy other than when it is active when the light comes on. Door opening spring is very effective but a little on the “robust” side. All in all though, it’s fine.
Easy to use and clean, value for money.
Many programs are there.
Great value microwave which I got through Amazon warehouse. As such it was considerably cheaper than the main site.
I can’t see any issues with it. It works well and is perfect fit me as a single person. Large plates are a bit of a squeeze to fit into it though as the microwave is not big, but it slotted nicely into the limited space I have in my counter.
The power button and function buttons are basic and straightforward to use.
The power level at 900 heats the food quickly.
It’s perfect for me and I think it was a good buy
Nice product easy to use turn the dial for 10 seconds on high or 1min on low that’s what you get , not pressing buttons with confusing digital numbers flashing , good produc
Great price for an easy to use compact size microwave.
The microwave is good and has all the functions mentioned. But it looks bit plasticky from the outside.
Thats why 4 stars otherwise everything is good.
Easy to use and slightly bigger than my last one. It does need its own space with plenty of ventilation around it but I love it, wish I’d changed my old one sooner.
Brilliant- does the job it was bought for – and does it excellently
Easy to use. But extremely small inside. My other one was small but thus is a lot smalle
Manual settings, so easy to use and keep clean. Much better than a digital one. I love it ! ! !
This does its job as a basic microwave well, ideal if you don’t want the many options offered by others that you’d never use, and easy to use twist knobs. One problem – the timer setting twist knob is low down, so the markers are hard to line up. Being close together it’s difficult to set an exact time. At normal kitchen side level you have to bend sideways to see them..Also the timing starts as soon as you start twisting the knob rather than letting you set the time then press ‘go’, so actual accuracy is almost impossible.
Does it matter? Well, many ready meals specify an exact time e.g. 2.5 minutes, but the best you can do is 3. With higher settings, this does not matter, but with only a couple of minutes it could be important.
So, generally fine but avoid if you are short sighted or arthritic!
We all love our new microwave, it’s made us realise how bad the old one was! Easy to use, much quicker than our other one. Highly recommended!
This microwave is exactly what I wanted, uncomplicated and a good size. The only reason I gave 4 stars, is because the interior is dark grey and I thought it was going to be white. Unfortunately, there was no mention of the interior colour in the description. Good microwave and looks very nice in my kitchen.
Thank you for the delivery of the Sharp MS5MS5-U 900 W Microwave oven. It took me not that long to know how to operate it It is perfect.
Got this last year when my old microwave decided to suddenly not heat.
It’s very easy to use, and the tea option is handy for warming up a cup that’s gone cold.
It loses a star though, due to the sides getting warm and the settings panel bubbling. The weird thing is that the panel practically did this overnight. If it was a few years old, fair enough, but it suddenly did this after about 10 months. That wouldn’t stop me recommending this though, as the pros outweigh the cons.
I got this microwave as a replacement for an old one that was wearing out and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something that doesn’t get used very often. And this Sharp microwave fits the bill very well it’s basic it doesn’t have a display just a nob but if you want to defrost anything it does the job very well,it’s also well made and unlike some of the none brand stuff out there you can tell it’s a quality bit of kit.So if you are looking for a small cheap microwave (it would be perfect for students) you can’t go far wrong with this.

This was a replacement microwave for my mother. She really liked it as it was very easy to use and very easy to clean. She gets confused with new things but has managed to operate this one with no problems.
My new best friend! It’s an amazing microwave. So many programs you can use and the buttons are grea
Absolutely superb, easy to fathom out, and a V large interior.
It’s a microwave. Works as it should. Has many options that I will never use. But no doubt my partner would.
This is easy to use, clean and just perfect for our family of five. Highly recommend.
Bought this for my parents it’s easy to use they’re very pleased with it.
My wife has very bad hands so knobs make it easy to use. Looks easy to clean. I think the price was very competitive.
Microwave is really nice easy to use ….but me personally I wish I got with a digital time
I got this microwave because I hate digital ones with so many functions, its super easy to use, super easy to wipe out its grea
Good quality and cheaper than any microwaves in the big chain supermarkets
Had searched every where for new microwave best one I have had great to use good size
It is neat doesn’t take up too much room and I am lost without a microwave for most of my meals
This Microwave was purchased as a general cooking device; it replaced a Panasonic digital microwave. I chose a manual microwave this time due to its ease of operation; no more dabbing through endless options. The power level is set to High mostly, and it remains set; with digital you have set the power level every time. Most often it is simply one twist of the timer knob to the proper cooking time and thats it! It could not be simpler.
I also like it that the interior light only comes on while the food is cooking, otherwise it is off. This is good because you can leave the oven door open to let steam and condensation disperse without burning the interior bulb pointlessly. The previous microwave came to grief through rusting due to condensation.
DEFROST: the scale is graduated by weight, which is not always helpful when you are defrosting foods you have frozen yourself; you may not know what the weight actually is. Proceed by short times and see how the food is defrosting bit by bit; there are kitchen scales of course!

Simple to use, easy to clean and you can fit a good sized dinner plate in it with ease!
Worked out slightly cheaper than other major retailers and turned up next day too!
Right size for place I wanted it in my kitchen. Works a wonder. Glad I purchased it.
Very good looking microwave, easy to use preset programs and with no nobs or handles it’s easy to wipe clean.
Easy to set up and use as we only use it to reheat food. Looks good in the kitchen. Happy with it.
Sharp in my opinion has always been a name for quality products, in this case it does exactly as it states on the box
The item very light ,so light every time you press the button to open the door the whole unit moves…on the whole ok for the price
Arrived on time, well packaged, nice size and well finished straightforward to operate. All in all a nice bit of kit at a reasonable price
I bought this item as my husband is not very tech savvy and he always had trouble working our old microwave … So this says what it does and all you do is turn the knob brilliant and easy to use
I know the Sharp arm in europe is not the real Japanese Sharp stuff (all about profits) – but this ‘Vestel’ microwave with a Sharp badge is nice. ITs retro looking like my parents Sharp 30 years ago, theres nothing I dont like about it – its not over fussy, it does what it should and its big so you can fit everything in it.
If it holds out, ill buy Vestel again in future, just a shame its not real japanese kit, but if you know that, proceed with Polands finest.
P.S> To those saying the buttons wear away -you didn’t remove the protective film! Once removed there is nothing to wear away as its not rubber 😀
We’ve been using this microwave for a couple of weeks now. It is simple and functional. No noisy pinger. Works just fine. Feels a little cheap and flimsy, but for that price what can you expect?! Perfectly happy with it.
I purchased this microwave because my old one packed up.
The one thing about this that I’m not so keen on is the buttons on the main display are not particularly tactile, quite often I think I’ve pressed the button but have “JUST” missed it, there’s nothing to actually let you know that you are pressing the right area (such as a raised dimple or brail type “text” or something like that), otherwise it’s great, easy to clean with it’s removable turntable, though the ring underneath is quite “cheap” feeling & from time to time bumps as the “wheel” sticks for some reason, even though it’s completely clean, so no idea what’s causing it, but at least it’s only “sometimes” and not “all the time”.
I would definitely recommend this microwave, especially for the price, very pleased.
I bought for my son, he says it’s a good one. It must be easy to use because he can use it.
We’ve been using this for 5 months, and it’s fine – a good simple microwave with easy controls. What’s not to like?
Well, one star off because the capacity is given as 20 litres but is actually only 17 litres (by physical measurement) – not a huge difference, I grant you – but if you choose this one over another one (of say 18 litres) because it had a greater capacity, then that’s dishonest advertising, isn’t it?
The microwave opening button isn’t very great and it has to be against a wall as it slides when opening and shutting doo
The instructions take a bit of reading but, once understood, the microwave cooks well. Easy to clean and has good range of power levels for different cooking needs.
I don’t use a microwave very much but my old Sharp microwave was shabby and time had come to replace. This model does everything I ask of i
I usually work my microwave digital,so when the 2 Nd one conked out,I sent for this
manual one,so easy to work none of that beep beep about 4 times, you just turn the
dial, for whatever time you want, and it cuts off,it defrosts, does the pies etc, just set the
number from,10,30,50 80,100,it will do pies without coming out soggy,if you set the
temperature low to high,I am very pleased with this and would recommend to anyone.
Hi i like my new microwave oven its perfect for my kitchen its sleek and easy to use could not be happier with i
Microwave looks great and works great. I’m really impressed. It’s easy to use and and clean and has clear instructions. The delivery was super fast too.
Came the day after ordering. Machine seems ok. Well packed. Tried it a couple of times and works fine.
Very satisfied so far.
very easy to use. Cooks well. So many microwaves on the market, it becomes difficult to choose one. I am glad i chose this.
Good value compared to other retailers. I like how there is buttons and no dial, makes it easier to use. It is slightly bigger than our last one
It is so simple to use, and easy to clean. And a reasonable price! Delivery was quick, even in the Corona Lockdown, which was appreciated!
This is a good microwave, the black face and deep black dials make it difficult to see the settings. I painted a white dot on the timer knob, it’s ok now.
Easy to use and keep clean. Not too big but with plenty of room for everything we use a microwave for. We’re really pleased with this. It could probably be improved with adjustable feet for ‘levelling’ if your surfaces are uneven.
Suits me. I wanted something simple that just did the job. This fits the bill. No confusing programs or buttons you never use. Large enough for a plate to fit.
Product great but I do have an issue with trying to register it for warranty.
IT APPEARS AFTER MUCH SEARCHING THAT THIS IS NOT REQUIRED.
The warranty is automatic for 12 months, keep proof of purchase and receipt.
It is a very basic microwave, which is what you expect for the price. One feature that could be improved is the timer, which cannot be set to less than a minute and is not very accurate for short timing intervals.
This item was bought as a gift for my daughter, as a replacement for a another microwave oven that had seen better days. There is nothing too fancy about the microwave in either looks or functions but, from reports, it is acceptable on all accounts and, therefore, good value for money.
To add to the four star ratings for the above categories would be a 4 stars rating for the microwave’s appearance – it sits appropriately, comfortably but relatively unobtrusively in the corner of the kitchen bench. It is seemingly a most acceptable and satisfying gift and it obviously does the job. No complaints – no worries!
I bought this for my son who gets irked by too much technology, and he asks me to report that he’s very happy with Its simplicity and smart looks, besides it being a good worker.
I have had this microwave for a month now, as a replacement for a short-lived Panasonic one. This Sharp microwave had all the features, size, colour and functions at the power range that I required to replace my previous microwave. More importantly, the price point was great for what you get. So far, it’s been functioning well, and does the job it was intended for as a microwave.
Two small annoying items to note in regards to this microwave:
1) The LED display seems to have been fitted a bit lower than it should have been at the factory. This means that when you look at the clock or the timing in the LED display, the bottom of the numbers are cut off (truncated) in the field of view. It’s functional, but an annoyance and potentially a product defect. How this missed QC/QA at Sharp is surprising… especially for a Japanese company (but then the microwave was built in China)?!
2) The ECO mode function of the microwave makes a sound, similar to the cooking completion sound, about a minute after the completion of a cooking/heating function. So basically, you get two sounds… one at the completion of cooking or heating something – followed by another one a minute or so later to let you know that it is in ECO mode. Also, you have to take the microwave out of ECO mode in order to use any of the digital buttons to start cooking or heating. I have not found a button to do this, nor is it mentioned in the manual, but I found opening and closing the door takes it out of ECO mode to start using the microwave. Again, it’s functional, but a slight annoyance.
In summary, the microwave is good value for money for the features, size, power, build and brand… and it’s not white or black in colour (although it’s stated as silver colour, it looks more metal in colour – great in my kitchen).
Exactly as expected, occasionally the touchpad needs touching quite firmly but otherwise super.
Good unit. Good price. Fast delivery. Not heavy so it does push back when you press the open door button. But not the end of the world.
hard to get my head around instuction etc at first.
still learning but so far all works and cooking well ,
like the larger turn table .it fits all my plates and bowls
so far would recommend
Fabulous oven easy to use & love the coffee reheat feature great settings on i
Well made and very simple to use. Looks easy to keep clean.
Great machine it replaces a 1000 machine but it is not much different in power it is a bit chunky and it vents from the base so no obstruction there but very good indeed
Very easy to use. Controls very simple. Looks good in the kitchen. Only took 2 days to deliver. Very pleased
