seems like a solid enough lock, happy with purchase, I was confused why the key whole had no cover until I read on here if you twist bottom of the D lock the key hole cover engages.
Lock is very sturdy (and pretty heavy), but the cable is not – I had it snapped and my bike was gone overnight.
If you use this make sure that you either always attached the lock to the frame and to a rail, or if you’re not attaching the lock to the rail directly best to get another cable or chain to run through it that can’t be cut.
So the other morning I went outside as I noticed the back gate was open, only to find that someone had blown the lock off my shed and attempted to steal my bike. The hint is in the word attempted .. they clearly had the power to cut a sizeable padlock off the shed, however couldn’t get through this lock on the bike. And I can assure you they tried. Couldn’t have asked for a better trial of how this lock might hold up against a robber, unfortunately for him, he lost. Stop looking and buy it, it works!
This one is the sturdiest D lock I’ve had. Using for an electric bike in Hackney and so far no one has tried to overcome this lock. The neighbours said not to use the bike rack outside, but with this and an alarmed disc lock it’s so far so good.
Have used this lock for about a month now and am yet to find anything bad about, for the price it is a very good option, cable is strong and lock is very sturdy and sits well on the bike bracket. My only minor annoyance would be that it can be hard to lock/unlock at times but this is the case with all locks I suppose. Overall good value for money and my bike has yet to be robbed so that says it all.
Purchased 2 for our electric bikes. They arrived the day after. They are solid and feel like a quality product. When you have paid alit for a bike you want to know it’s well protected. I feel confident that the combination of sturdy D lock with cable will deter and prevent would be thieves. Easy to use and comes with 3 spare keys

I did a lot of research before purchasing this bike lock set, and spoke to a lot of people about their experiences when out and about with their bikes. Surprising how many had suffered thefts of bikes over the years, but I’m confident that I am now protected against all but the most professional and determined thieves. The lock etc are of excellent quality, heavy and robust enough to prevent the vast majority of attacks by thieves, even if they are not deterred by the clear strength of the hardware and metals used in construction. Very user-friendly and quick to operate, and much better priced than many locks of inferior quality. The long securing line handles every situation, and I guess it will be a long time before I need to worry about security for my bikes. Item arrived earlier than the scheduled delivery date, and has been followed up by reassuring contact from the suppliers. Thanks again.
Highly Recommended bike lock, a little heavy, but that can be a good thing. Wire rope is covered in plastic so not to scratch and damage frame, good strong lock, just the job

Very sturdy lock with high security 8/10 rating. Very useful flexible cable for securing helmet, saddle etc. I store mine by hanging it from my saddle rather than using the bracket.
Ran into trouble with the locking mechanism seizing up after a few months of use, tried lubrication without success. Sigtuna were very helpful and quick in responding to this problem – after sending them a video showing the issue they sent out a replacement lock the next day. Full marks for helpfulness and customer service!
I was unsure about this given the price of the more branded ones but was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this lock. My friend has the more expensive brand (Kryptonite) butbthis is just as good as far as I can tell. Well worth the money.
It’s quite strong and well finished. I feel my bicycle safe with it and I love the clip to hang it to the bike, so you don’t need to carry any backpack or bag just for the lock. I am quite happy with it. I don’t rate 5 stars only for its heavy weight.

I’ve bought this for my bike as i use it for going to work and i leave it unattended for long hours, I’m very pleased with it as many bikes in the area where stolen but this made mine a very very difficult job for the thieves; It’s sturdy and it looks sturdy so they didn’t even try with mine,i would highly recommend this ,also good price-value.

I have been using the D LOCK since and it is perfect, feels very sturdy and secure.
I used the cable only twice. I found the velcro being loose and precarious so I sticked to an extra lock I already had for my front wheel.
Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Strong, sturdy, has a bit of weight to it due to material, but not noticeable when held on bike frame
The U frame doesn’t quite fit through MY rear wheel due to their size (Fat Tyre Bike)
It does secure the frame to the bike post and the cable fits through front and rear wheels and connects nicely to the U lock
And the adjustable frame fitting means it fits snuggly with no interference with bike operations
I had an older, longer, U-Lock that would fit through the wheel. but the size made it impossible to carry on the bike frame without it catching on something

The ONLY downside I have is the mounting for the cable. It is perfect for a round frame, but not so for my triangular frame.
So I have to mount it on the handle bar stem

Looks and feels like it will keep my bike locked up, along with the provided cable I was able to ‘ D lock’ the back wheel and the metre cable was able to loop around the front wheel and also lock into the D lock so very secure

Actually using this to hang a heavy bag in the garage for boxing and it works a treat, so far. its been up 8 months and hasn’t looked like moving.
Great lock for the price, seems bomb proof and definitely inspires me with confidence to leave my bike. However. Mounting the lock on the frame has been impossible. Partly because I have a small framed road bike and mountain bike (fits no where on either). But the mounting bracket broke on the only bit we thought it might fit on. The frame isn’t ridiculously wide, but wide enough to break the bracket when we tried to slide it on. Still would buy another if required, but can’t see why I’d need another one, this does both my bikes, just have to put the lock in the panniers!!
My bike is a folding bike with step through frame so has less mounting options but I have fitted the bracket to the saddle stem and find it very convenient to use in this way.
The lock is a very sturdy unit and I’m sure it will resist most attacks or at least deter the potential thief and send him looking for an easier target!
In conclusion, this package is a great lock set and is outstanding value for money – you would have to spend a great deal more to improve on it, I can readily recommend it to anyone looking for convenient security for their bike.

purchased sigtuna gear U lock with 1200mm double loop cable. What a great piece of well made equipment. I can’t see anyone breaking the 16mm U piece. The only thing that I found that was not very good and could be made better was the bracket piece that fits on the U. When tightened fully it still twists allowing the lock to move about. would be better if there was two locking screws one at each end of the bracket. Other than that it was a great purchase and I would recommend this to anyone.

Sturdy and secure. A D-lock to secure the main part of the frame, a cable to secure a wheel or seat. Mixed this with a thick chain and I would be surprised if anyone could be arsed to try to steal my bike.

Great lock. One star off for the useless Velcro thing provided to hold the wire part on your bike; it’s useless (mine is wrapped round the handlebars).
It is strong enough, I would just like the U to be slightly longer, otherwise it’s great.
4 months later the plastic tube on the U that slides in the base of the mounting bracket broke, so you have to be extra careful with it. If you can, choose the horizontal fitting of the bracket. However I contacted the company and they sent me a whole new lock, the customer service was excellent. Great value for price.

Comes with two keys and fitting instructions. Finger’s crossed I don’t need to review it’s sturdiness, no-one has attacked it yet.
U lock is very thick, coated with a thin rubber to prevent scratches to your bike. Cable is long enough to loop between the front tire and back into the U-lock when attached. Mounts onto the bike when not in use easily. I have the cable taut on the bike from the U lock wrapped around the frame, doesn’t get in the way when cycling. Excellent price and service
Good quality lock, compact, slightly heavier than I’d hoped, bracket for frame does not fit my Trek, my friend who recommended also said the bracket does not fit his frame, only seems to fit proper round tubes, but I carry a pack anyway so I just put it in there. Feel confident that the trusty steed will be where I left it when using this lock.
Prompt arrival of lock, accompanying email prior to its arrival. Fits securely, however the only tiny blot is that the Velcro piece to keep the flexible part tidy when stored is not designed for where I’m placing it. But hardly a hardship!

Bought this as my last Abus lock fell off the bike on the back of the car. It seems to be good quality and I like that they key is inserted in the middle of the cross bar rather than on an end like many other makes.
So “road” tested it and it was still there when we arrived at the start of the bike trip, which is more than the Abus. It fitted well to my wife’s bike and in such a way that it did not impede cycling or rubbing on the tyre (and has a quick release button (red) for ease of access); the best test of this was the fact that I heard no complaints from my wife during our cycle ride.
As for security, it is difficult to judge (hence only 4 stars), as although we parked our bikes up in Frant in Sussex, Frant is not known as the crime capital of the UK, so it was not “truly” tested!! But as a deterrent for the casual thief, it does its job.
The lock brilliant, put a drop of oil in keyhole as advised locks and opens easily. Lock holder doesn’t fit anywhere on my bike frame but I just have lock locked on frame.

Really strong U lock with good locking mechanism. Rotating barrel over lock protects from the elements. Cable is ideal length for securing. Not used mounting bracket to attach to bike.
The bike locks are very good quality, and easy to use (although it takes a bit of time to get used to hold both ends of the cable inside the U lock and then locking everything, with only two hands!) 😀 It’s also very easy to install the U lock on the bike to carry it around better. I found that the U lock sometimes feels not long enough to park the bike on some fences, but it’s totally fine on designated bike racks :).
The value for money is great. For the same price, I could only find one or the other, so it’s great that you SIGTUNA sells them together. It’s very necessary to have both when you live in a place where bikes get stolen every minute! Very happy with the purchase!

Brought this so I could ride my bike to the railway station. The packaging and product are excellent and it was delivered speedily. Simple to follow instructions on attaching the lock and bracket to your bike and you’re away. The lock and cable are both heavy duty and, whilst a determined thief could get through anything, this lock would act as a deterent. Overall really satisfied.

It is a good quality solid lock and It is easy to use and handle as well .
It is weighty, which is a good sign because you can tell it’s not going to be easy to get through so your bike will be safe. This lock in particular is the perfect size to fill the space within the U lock with your frame, wheel and the object you’re locking it to.

Nobody has tried to steal my bike yet, so I can’t really comment on how effective this is – however, it feels really sturdy, so I’m confident that any yobbo who tries to make off with their ill gotten gains will at least have been inconvenienced in their attempt.

Great lock, quite heavy, not ideal if your more of a Sunday bike rider over a commuter ride
Ordered this lock for my recumbent trike. The cable is nice and heavy & just the right length to run through all the wheels and then hook onto the bracket.
The cable feels very strong and well made, but is also flexible enought to bend without any trouble.
The bracket and lock feel very strong and sturdy, once locked. the lock cover is a nice touch as that should help prevent the water getting into the lock and also hide the key hole.

Seems a good sturdy lock. The bracket to mount it on the bike is really good and makes it quick and easy to remove from the bike. Cable is plenty long enough to go round wheels too.
Haven’t used it yet ! But comes well packaged, It’s heavy and seems pretty sturdy. Should stop most bolt cutters when used properly!, ie D-lock used on frame and not on the wheel cable only, as I’ve seen other people do with there’s and ends up getting stolen…

After my previous bike was stolen I wanted something that would give me peace of mind that my new bike will be safe. ice solid looking lock so far so goodno real issues the lock can be a bit sticky with key, so i be more careful when unlock/lock. Not fitted item to frame so can’t comment on holder to frame, nice good size solid bol
