How long should I leave my rolled mattress before sleeping on it?
You should unroll your rolled mattress on a bed in a warm room 24 hours before use. By placing it in a warm room, the mattress recovery time will be faster. You should not remove the cover until it has been left 24 hours.
Will my mattress smell?
It’s quite normal for new mattresses to have a slight odour when it is unpackaged, however it is nothing to worry about and by airing the mattress, you will find that any odours will pass.
How do I clean my mattress?
We always recommend using a mattress protector. You should not use detergents or chemical cleaners on your mattress as this may damage the fabric and stitching. Please do not remove the cover to clean the mattress, the cover is not removable.
Can I roll up the mattress for storage?
We use specialist equipment to roll a mattress in our factory. Please do not attempt to bend or re-roll your mattress yourself.

Arrived today. We gave it 7 hours to plump up. It was plumped in 6!
I’m now in bed. Fell asleep 30 mins ago. Woke up to the sound of the tv and noticed already that my hips do not hurt!. I do feel like I’m slanting one way but maybe I just need to get used to the fact I have a decent mattress now, after a year of waking up with spring indents on me from my old mattress this is feeling like heaven

On arrival when it was unrolled the top right hand corner was a bit flat it also had a smell that is still there even though sheets and quilt is on. Decided to upgrade my mattress as the one I had prior the springs felt as if it was coming through the mattress and it was too soft for my liking.
Anyway, I got this mattress as it’s a brand I’m familiar with and it’s everything I asked for. Firm feel, good night sleep and overall very pleased. I was surprised how it came as it arrived in a very tight package but after slicing the package open, I had to quickly lay it on my bed base and within 5 minutes, it had pretty much raised to full size.
Definitely superior than a spring mattress as being a dog owner, my dog doesn’t make the mattress lopsided as well as doesn’t disturb me when sleeping.
My son’s single bed broke so we decided to get him a double bed as he would probably need/want one as he gets bigger. So we needed a new mattress for his double frame.
If he has a nightmare etc we often snuggle with him in his bed so we wanted something nice and comfy for us all! . This mattress seemed to be the best memory foam one you could get for a smaller budget. We have an Emma mattress which is thicker and feels more substantial than this Silent Night one but Is a lot more expensive. This mattress is very comfortable sometimes I even prefer it to my Emma. The only one downside (for me) is that if you’ve slept in it all night the warmth of your body moulds the mattress and you do ‘sink in’. some people might like this, but I prefer it to stay more firm and bounce back quicker.
On arrival the mattress has had all the air sucked out and at first, I thought I’d been sent the wrong size. It was fine. Needs a day or two for the shape and size to regain maximum proportions. As with all foam mattresses there’s a strange chemically smell…leave it to sit on the floor or bed and after a few days the smell goes.
It’s softer than memory type mattresses but supportive and more comfortable. I much prefer this foam than the memory foam type.
This matters is one of the best things I have purchased this year. So comfortable and really does keep you cool. It’s soft where you need a soft bit and hard where you need it hard. Never slept so well. Feels like giving you a hug whilst keeping you comfortable.highly recommended
This made a huge difference and has improved my sleep massively since moving from a traditional spring bed.
I would recommend to anyone, my only complaint is that the smell of foam is quite overpowering and my room still smells of foam now (over 1 month since purchase.
I aired it out for 24 hours as suggested but that made no difference.
My 5 year old loves his new mattress and it’s quite light for me to fit the sheets on. The only issue I’ve noticed is there is a sort of hole at one side on the edge like some of the foam is missing. Not sure if it’s something to do with being folded up?
He’s slept well on it and says it’s very comfy. If you where a larger build I’m not sure it would be suitable due to the edge compressing when you sit up to get out of bed. Over time it would damage I’m sure.
All in all it’s great for my son who’s 5
I know there is lot of bad review on this mattress but me and my boyfriend love at first when it comes rolled up it not very deep mattress and we thought it was topper at first but come as we got to lye down on it we fell in love with it and it take some time getting use to it but it does what it meant to do I had mattress with spring and memory form and was giving me bad neck ache but after one sleep iv woke up feeling amazing and no pain what so eve
Not really! This mattress is great! I am currently sleeping on the floor due to a new born taking my place, I have no back issues and it’s comfortable, what more can you ask for?!? I’ve been using it for nearly a year now and have absolutely no complaints. Slimmer than the norm which at first raised questions in my head but I can confirm that I have had no issues at all. I am 5′ 10″ and weigh 11 stone and it’s comfortable for me
My girlfriend always complained about how much her bed at uni makes her back feel so the first thing she’d do when she got to mine was jump onto the bed and make a massive sigh of relief because it’s so comfy! It’s coming up to a year since I’ve had this bed and it still hasn’t lost shape despite the fact I sleep on one side and she’s stays over every weekend. It’s really good quality and the price I paid was a bargain I think! I’ll be buying another one for the spare bedroom when we can be bothered to get a better bed for it.
I don’t normally write reviews as I can’t be bothered but I had to write this one. I have just come back from holiday and our apartment had one of these mattresses, now I have a bone condition that causes me awful joint problems and back pain and most days I take time to get walking properly and I’m only 44. We have a fairly hard spring mattress at home and when I slept on the apartment one OMG I went the whole week with no pain at all and was walking normally when I got up! First time in years! NO JOKE one night back on my home one and I’m climbling out of bed like a geriatric! No joke I bought this mattress and put it on my credit card such is the need! Don’t think, buy it!
Really pleased with this mattress. It is just a pure mix of different memory foam, so there is no springing, which is a good think because we have tried mattresses that are a combination of both and they are a disaster, because they are neither one thing or the other properly. So if you want just a decent foam mattress at a really good price, they don’t get much better.
On this mattress, after only a single night. The complete lack of any soreness, pain or pressure. I had my first enjoyable uninterrupted painfree night for a long time. The benefits are obvious but the motivation of the energy and freedom from worry. Unparralled speed of recovery which continues all day.
The foam supports all over the spinal cord and you sink into the total foamy support structure. Which helps the painful spots.
It costs every single penny! Highly recommended.

Once unfilled it takes about 24 hours to achieve its full shape but be warned that there is a chemical smell which takes a few days to clear but nothing too unbearable.
Will say it definitely took longer than 24 hours to inflate, and at full height (have now had this for 4 months), it doesn’t seem to be at full height.

It is soft and nice.
I was actually expecting it to be the traditional thick mattresses. which it is not. the dept of this is roughly 15cm when the usual ones are like 25-25cm.
I previously had a firm ones, so it took time to get used to.
I am 80kg.
be aware that you will sink in, therefore its not for sitting or crawling as a adult. strictly laying.
but after few months of having it, its soft and nice, but i do wish i did either get a firm one or a full thick mattress which everyone generally have.
Point… regards to delivery, if it is rolled up as package, be assured its the slim mattresses and not the average thick ones you would get from Dreams or Bed Stores.
Simply amazing. it is a very nice mattress and very comfortable. It does make me get a little too warm for my liking but i can solve that with a topper! It is a bit on the firm side and i would prefer to “Sink” into my mattress but i cant complain as its still very comfortable.
So i will say do not buy this if you have a bed with rods to support the mattress rather than wood slats. It does sink into them. I have had to buy some MDF and cut it into some sections to support the mattress. It is also quite the heavy mattress. The general quality is good, there is obviously room for improvement, but for the 169 that i paid it is very good. If it was full price i dont think i would say this was good value for money.
Really good mattress, not too soft and not too hard although I ‘ weight much so for me it was hard but comfortable because it was still soft. PS. my roommate she had a proper memory foam mattress so her mattress was super soft like you just drop in sort of thing so I guess I am comaring to that one it was much harder but I would say its a balanced mattress. Good quality foam although the protector cover can get very dirty as all the dusts and stuff stick on it (bare in mind I did have my mattress on the floor carpet, student life) All in all its very affordable good size looks good and very comfortable to sleep in! definitely recommend! also does not weight a lot and you can proper wrap it up so great for moving around (again student life)
Over the next few days the mattress seemed to soften and I am glad to say that it’s now one of the most comfortable mattress’s we’ve slept on. There have been a few reviews on here where people have found it uncomfortable. I think that maybe the mattress just takes longer to expand properly for different people. I did read the side of the pack and the ambient temperature can effect it.
A very good mattress that we would buy again.
There’s loads of memory foam mattresses on the market, some very expensive, some very cheap. But what would this inexpensive one be like I thought. Would I be disappointed and feel I’ve wasted my money?
Well, it came all rolled up, looking robust but so small. Once out of it’s wrapping and on the bed, I thought it was a little hard.
However, my first nights sleep on it was fabulous. I felt snug and contoured on the mattress, and it wasn’t hard or anything.
It felt just perfect.
No doubt there are better more expensive memory foam mattresses to purchase, but I felt if I stuck to a well known brand (Silent Night); I couldn’t go far wrong.
So on this purchase I am very happy to say, cheaper didn’t mean bad quality.
It’s very well made.
What more can I say other than, if your budget is low, this mattress is remarkably good value.
And you won’t be disappointed!
We bought this for our spare bedroom. When it first arrived, I really didn’t expect it to be comfortable, in fact I thought it looked too thin & thought you’d feel the slats of the bed. But after 24hours, it had expanded fully & looked a bit more reasonable & you can absolutely not feel the slats! Only good feedback from our guests so far.
I was very surprised with this considering the price, as ours is only really for guests I can’t say how long this will last, bit for a cheap comfortable mattress I would definitely recommend this.
You have to be VERY careful not to damage the mattress when you remove the very thick plastic packaging. Then when you unroll it you must leave it for 24 hours and use it. It needs turning and I would suggest a protector too.
For us this is for our spare bed and it’s perfect. It is quite thin at 14cm but seems very comfortable.
It’s great value at the discounted price. We will test it this evening and I’ll update but it seems a great option.
My only gripe is that its a little warmer but I think that combined with the 12.5 tog feather duvet may play some part. Highly recommend.
The children said it is very comfortable. I have been sleeping only a few hours in it and thought it was good for an adult too even though it is not very firm.
I am not sure I would buy it for an adult bed because I like a firmer mattress but it seems perfect for children and teenagers.
It comes rolled and when you open the package you just need to let it flat a few hours before sleeping in it, you don’t have to wait for a few days like other mattress.

Yes it smells awful, terrible, dreadful, dead cat in a carrier bag in hot weather (please note I am just guessing that bit before I get hate mail) BUT that does not last – thank God! I am very happily married to an insomniac – love him – hate his sleeping patterns. In desperation after reading a gazillion reviews I bought this mattress. I HATED it. It stank, it was uncomfortable. It looked thinner than my mother in law’s welcome when I unwrapped it. It expanded. It got more comfortable but that smell…..I sprayed it daily with that stuff they advertise as killing sweaty sock odour in a gym. Didn’t help. Finally after a couple of weeks I decided I could stand it no longer. It was 3 a.m. the smell woke me up. I turned to my husband to say we have to dump this and he was asleep!!! He was still asleep hours later. I decided to try and persevere and I am so glad I did. The smell does go. We both now sleep. We sleep well. Stick with it. You will be glad you did. I am. Good luck!
We were doubtful having always used traditional mattresses…for the low price we took the plunge.
It is very comfortable and supports like no other mattress and doesn’t trap you in deep craters like the old wives tales you hear.
I have a crap back and this has been a real boon. Two downsides though to give an even review.
The first is that it is much warmer then a sprung mattress…but this will be a benefit come winter. The second is that if you’re very heavy it can soften the mattress prematurely…the other half was 8months pregnant when we first got it and her side was noticeably softer than mine. This did however correct itself (memory foam) a month after the birth and her weight reduced back.
I can’t imagine going back to the old style mattress…it’s so good I bought another for my Mum.
UPDATE: I’ve had this mattress for approximately five years now and I’ve had no issues – it’s still as comfortable as the first time that I slept on it. To keep the mattress in good condition, don’t forget to turn the mattress around occasionally as per the manufacturer’s recommendation. Hopefully, it should last another five years, fingers crossed! 🙂
Item arrived on time, and appears to be good quality. There is however an extreamly strong chemical type smell that is present that takes several days to disipate, its so strong that it was making me feel sick. I was told its apparently quite common with memory foam type matresses which are vacume packed / rolled up for storage, but I cant really comment if thats true or not. The item itself seems quite comfortable, but I would order this ahead of when its needed and air it out in a spare room with the door closed or in your garage / shed with the windows open for at least a week before using it.
I am still getting use to this mattress. It seemed very hard compared to my last mattress. It is definitely improving, but we had to buy a mattress topper to be more comfortable. If you take into consideration the cost of the mattress topper and buying the mattress here on Amazon, I still think it is a good deal…both mattress topper and memory foam mattress make for a comfortable, snug night. Some people have remarked about the smell of these mattresses, but I didn’t find it overly offensive or remarkable. Just a new mattress smell that hung about for a little while, and has gone now. Nothing major in my eyes.

When we got our one delivered the packaging was excellent so no worries about damage or stains thank you. After we undid the packaging we laid ours flat and left it for 48 hours to make sure it went back into shape. We had read 24 or 36 hours depending on manufacture but we left it longer but it is up to you. We went to bed the first night and my wife liked it straight away but I did not and told her that I regretted buying it and she told me to give it a chance. Well I did and now have trouble getting out of bed every morning due to being so comfortable and say to all give it a chance and a little time as you wont regret it. Great price also so grab a bargain while you can as now our son wants one also and who knows how long this really cheap value for money price last for. I have suffered with back pain for years after injury and this helps and along with me being 6ft 2 and 300lbs it still is the comfortablest mattress that I have slept on to date. Now after my nightly workout I look forward to having a great nights sleep.
Very comfortable mattress got used to it right away.
My husband says he feels the benefit as far as his back is concerned and he certainly is able to lie-in a little longer in the morning instead of having to get up because of back pain.
Read some reviews which said there was a smell for some time, didn’t experience anything like that at all.
Bed is British king size pine frame, mattress is a perfect fit from top to bottom but the width across the bed is short which leaves a slight gap at the sides. Could be an issue for some people so maybe I should just have given it four stars with that in mind.
I bought it because it was competitively priced so if it wasn’t suitable it wouldn’t be too much of a loss to go back to using a conventional mattress, but there is no danger of that.

Bought these mattress for over 2 years and I had Been sleeping very well since.
When they first arrive, it does have the smell of the packaging but if you leave it out for a while in open window for a day the smell will died away.
We have also bought separate mattress cover, they do make your body quite warm to sleep in. Its does take us a couple of days to get use to it.Good thing we can turn down the heater and save money.
I was sleeping this mattress while I was pregnant. I had sore back pain but this mattress is better to sleep in that the springboard mattress.
This kingsize memory foam mattress is extremely comfortable to sleep on. Firm yet soft, you sink in gradually and it’s easy to find a comfy spot. I left it to rise for just over 24hrs but unfortunately it never reached 20cm as advertised, which feels like false advertising on behalf of the seller – I think they need to consider changing that. Mine got to 15-17cm at most. this is a problem at the edges because it’s too close to the height of my bedstead. I’m also concerned that it won’t last long/well because it’s already so flat.
Having said that, there was no overpowering smell and I’ve enjoyed the initial sleep on the mattress.
When this mattress came on Amazon at what can only be described as a bargain price, my wife and I decided it was time the old one went to the tip. The result is a perfect night for my wife, who lays down to sleep. However, due to my many and varied health conditions, I find it far more comfortable to sleep sitting up. And that is where the slight problem (for me only) lies. With this being a seven-zone mattress, the zone where my derriere rests whilst sitting up must be one of the harder zones. Thus, after a comfortable four to five hours, I am awakened by a numb posterior, and find it impossible to get back to sleep immediately. Hence only four stars from me – but five stars from my wife.
It’s a great mattress it really is. It feels like you’re sleeping on a solid beanbag or slightly hard marshmallow. Your body just sinks in and it almost cocoons around you. I had a fantastic first nights sleep. I’ve taken one star off purely because of the smell. Oh god the smell. The first 12 hours were the worst. Going in the same room as the thing made my throat hurt and eyes water. The next 12 hours I had every window in the house open because I could smell it everywhere. It’s an awful smell. I can still smell it a little now, I’m hoping it goes away or the mattress will have to go.
So this is the entry level Silentnight foam mattress – it isn’t memory foam, you need the next one up to get a layer of that on it.
Comes rolled up very small and takes a few hours to expand properly. I bought the Euro Single 90×200 which fits an IKEA childrens bed nicely.
There is a bit of a chemical smell as others have said but after a few days this is passing.
My 15 year old son is absolutely chuffed to bits with the mattress and claims that it is a hundred times better than the cheap spring mattress that he has been using for the last 10 years or so (!).
For under 100 I think this is great value from a decent brand and would recommend it.
Feels a bit firm to begin with, but once you’ve warmed it up a bit with your body heat it melts into a nice soft spongy and comfy platform. Its certainly cured my aching shoulders. The only minor issue with it is that on our divan it slides around a bit because its so light. Not really an issue though as you can tap it back into place. Would recommend, very pleased with this purchase.
Also for anyone wondering, no you sink into a body shaped hole from which its difficult to turn over. You can turn just as easily as a sprung mattress so no worries there. Actually thats not strictly true, if after a while you were to shift over to a cooler part of the bed you would sense a firmer mattress and would have a tendency to slide or roll into it. But you would have to physically move to feel this. Under normal conditions when you’re laying there and turning over its completely imperceptible.
This was my 2nd memory foam mattress, the 1st being a Silentnight 3-zone single; this was ideal for lighter person.
The mattress comes with some basic instructions, which does the job. I bought some hardboard and cut to size to fit our wooden slated base, as we wanted to prolong the life of the product. After rolling out and leaving it for 24 hours in a warm room, I was surprised at how firm it had become. The 2 of us have slept on it for roughly a month, and has helped both our backs. No roll together and you can get up without waking your partner! When it came to disposing of our original sprung mattress, the memory foam plastic fitted this lovely.
I would certainly recommend this mattress after 3 previous mattresses; this is the best to date.

Delivery was quick and the mattress is very well made. It was purchased as a mattress for my daughters high bed and she has been very happy with it. If you have a slatted base, make sure you read the description as it sets out the minimum gap between slats.
My only grip, which I believe is a problem for all foam mattresses is that is has a bit of a strange smell. This was quite strong when it was first unfolded and two months down the line it is still noticeable when lying on it. This is slowly going but do be aware of this issue with foam if you are sensitive to smells.
I’ve had a memory foam topper for years, but my actual sprung mattress really needed replaced so I decided to buy this item. (I’ll be honest, it was the price that attracted me and the fact I could take delivery next day with my Prime membership).
I have had it 3 months now and I can’t remember the last time I have had such a good nights sleep.
I practically wake up in the same position as I fell asleep in. So comfortable.
I’ve never experienced getting extra hot with memory foam as other people have, so no problems there at all.
I no longer wake up with a bad back which I have been plagued with for years. I still have my topper on top of this mattress and as the instructions said this mattress wasn’t suitable for beds with metal ‘slats’ due to the fact they could eventually cut through the mattress, I also purchased a cheap fabric mattress topper to go under it.
Well worth every penny in my opinion and I would have no hesitation in recommending to others.
More expensive mattresses may have extra foam or slightly more support, I don’t know, but for the money I paid I am absolutely delighted.
As for the mattress itself it is foam so feels very different to spring mattresses. I never sleep very well in a new bed and so really wasn’t expecting to get much sleep but dozed off straight away. It was incredibly comfortable and when I woke up my back felt amazing! I had previously got used to a very poor spring mattress and to have a mattress where there are no springs sticking in you when you roll over is lovely. It is not as firm as some other mattresses which is a shame but I have no complaints at all and am very glad I made the purchase!

It is very comfortable to sleep on but not the wonder mattress that most reviews make memory foam out to be. It is nice not to have springs that you can feel though
Time will tell whether it will last as long as our previous sprung mattresses did (10 years each before the springs started sticking through).
As other have mentioned, the chemical smell isn’t very nice and it took a few weeks to get down to barely detectable levels. The bedding had to be aired every day for quite a while and washed much more frequently to help dissipate this smell.
If you haven’t had a memory foam mattress before, I strongly suggest giving this a try. I have had back and neck problems for a year or so now which I suspected was due to age or bad posture, but they have completely gone now and I am sleeping better than I have for many years.
Comments from other reviewers are correct in that there is definitely an unusual chemical smell generated by the mattress for a number of days afterwards, so I would recommend letting it ‘breathe’ for 48 hours before use in a well ventilated room if you have that option. It also seemed very hot in bed for a while (I suppose the heat doesn’t disperse as quickly as normal mattresses) but I have got used to this and it’s no longer an issue.
I am absolutely delighted with this purchase and the offer price from Amazon was very reasonable indeed. I don’t think I could go back to a coil sprung mattress again – they just don’t feel right at all now.
Very tall son has always had problem with his back. Sitting at desks at school use to aggravate and the bed he was sleeping on didn’t help. So we researched and found this to have excellent reviews re firmness price was good too. I must admit I was a bit worried about buying such a large item on line without having seen it or trying it. Needn’t have worried. It was delivered on time. It is easy to carry up stairs. It’s hard to believe that what you carried up stairs is a mattress! Getting into is another matter. It took ages to get through the packaging. Once in it starts to come to life. It fitted the double divan really well. First impression is that it’s like a giant piece of covered foam. I must admit I did have a few misgivings looking at it. However, needn’t have worried. Son is really pleased with it. Says he’s sleeping much better. Nice and firm but comfortable to lie on. Unlike some people, we have had no experience with smells although after it arrived we did open the windows for several hours before use because of the reviews. Only time will tell if it has been a good long term purchase but for now it’s certainly value for money.
I previously had a ‘healthy beds’ double memory foam mattress which was very soft and this is easily as comfortable that cost about 600 pounds at the time. Since then I’ve also bought a king size latex and pocket sprung mattress costing over 600. I must say this silent night mattress is way more comfortable than that one.
All in all, very impressed and cost less than a third of both previous mattresses and every bit as good and better!
Update Nov 2018:
4 years on, and this mattress is still being used and to us feels just as good as it was when first bought. It has definitely lasted very well and would be more than happy to buy exactly the same again when it eventually needs replacing. Absolutely great value for money!
Great for relaxing whilst watching a film or reading a book.
It makes a huge difference when waking up in the morning, if like me you have occasionally woken up all stiff and sore.
Only thing to remember is that it does have a chemical smell for a week or so after first unrolling it and letting it self inflate. You can get round this if you have a decent fan and direct the airflow at the mattress to help speed up the process.
Id also recommend giving it the full 24 hrs to inflate/settle before trying to use it.
It was quite amazing to see the mattress rise to a usable size from its rolled state, this we think is best done in a spare heated room as in fairness it takes a good 48hrs. and as already stated 7″ in depth is the best it could muster, this also helps relieve the smell that many reviews mention.
We expected a bad night for the first time of use but had exactly the opposite, the mattress feels very firm but gives one a sense of floating on air with a great deal of comfort, in fact its the best nights sleep we have ever had and being very early risers it would be quite easy to lay in.
This is our first experience of a memory foam mattress having always had springs in the past but we could recommend the Silentnight 7-zone to everyone.
I have suffered long term back problems for several years from a fractured spine and much to my amazement most of my aches and pains on awakening have eased or disappeared altogether.
We slept on it the same night. After a sprung mattress it feels different but a week later we are both sleeping so well and I love the way it moulds to you. My wife is sometimes a restless sleeper but I barely notice it now. I have nothing bad to say about this at all except it does retain heat so it’s noticeably warmer at night. Love it and so does my missus, a well spent 140.
We bought this to fit on our wee 4 year olds new Pirate Bed.
It is a perfectly good sized mattress, don’t know what the reviewer who complained it’s too thin
is talking about! It’s the same thickness as a normal mattress once you’ve allowed it to
expand anfter unpacking it.
Our wee boy absolutely loves it and says “It’s really really really comfy daddy” so with 3 really’s who am I
to argue! 🙂 Actually I’ve tried it and he’s right, it is really comfy, even for an adult.
The other thing I liked was that it had no trace of that horrible chemical smell that many memory foam mattresses have
for the first few days after being unpacked. So we were able to put it straight on his bed after it had fully expanded.
Don’t be fooled, these are foam mattresses not memory foam. Saying that they are pretty comfortable. I bought 2, one for each of my children and they seem happy with them.
They are very thin though, probably around 10cm and they may look a little small on some bedsteads.
There was a smell for the first 24 hours that might be off putting for some but we left them in a spare room and when they were set up the next day you couldn’t really smell anything.
They are really light so handy for taking upstairs/moving around.
All in all a good mattress for what you pay for it, you probably can’t expect much better.
Would recommend it but if you are particularly fussy about mattresses probably go for a proper memory foam one 500+ not something like this.
Mattress has a medium to firm feel.
I guess it depends on your weight… I’m kinda chunky, so it’s more of a medium feel for me, but may feel firm for the more petite person.
Very comfortable.
Memory foam has an different feel to traditional mattresses and it took me about 5 days to adjust, but after that it’s been fantastic.
Had it for a couple of months now and am getting some quality comfortable sleep.
Factor in the price compared to many conventional sprung mattresses, and it really is a bargain.
Only thing to bear in mind, is that the memory foam makes you toastie and VERY warm very quickly… This has been great during this winter, but not so sure how great that will be when summer comes around.
Still, very highly recommended… Quality product at a budget price.
HOWEVER, one week later and the mattress now appears to be about a foot thick and is 10 times more comfortable than it was on the first night. I have enjoyed some of the best nights sleep of my life. I tend to sleep on my sides and on other beds I found I was constantly rolling over due to sore hips, shoulders or back. With this mattress I can lie in one position all night without any discomfort. Any misgivings I had about memory foam have vanished. It is not too hot, it is neither too hard or too soft. It is the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on, just give it a week!
I’ve always had a sprung mattress so was a bit unsure of memory foam.
My parents bought a memory foam mattress so I went on their recommendations.
I done reviews on the 3 zone and the 7 zone but the 7 zone came tops every time.
It is 20cm deep where the 3 zone is 18cm, I wanted the extra depth. It comes rolled but once opened you can watch it grow, I left it for 48 hours before use which also got rid of the packaging smell.
I have neck, and back problems so wanted a mattress to help where needed and give support, this mattress fits the bill.
It is superb! I love it.
It feels firm when you first lay on it but it warms to your contours and you can feel the 7 zones doing their job nicely.
I’ve never slept so well for a long time, don’t hesitate on this one, just go for it you won’t regret it.

I have had this mattress for about 4 weeks now. When I first opened it there was a strange smell coming from the mattress. I left it to air for a couple of days then put it on my bed. The smell is going but gradually – there’s still a hint of it 4 weeks on but nothing like the strong smell it was first giving off! I don’t know if this is a general feature of these mattresses or if the mattress was stored in a damp place by the supplier before coming to me etc.
That aside I find the mattress really comfortable and I do have a great nights sleep on it.
The mattress was delivered very quickly. It looked very small and i was surprised it would be for my double bed.I took it upstairs and started to take off the wrapping. Wow it filled up with air and grew into a double mattress before my eyes. The packaging was difficult to come off as the mattress had been vacuum packed. Much easier for delivery. I left the mattress on the floor overnight as recommended and then placed it on my bed for the next night.
I must admit i did not expect to notice a difference right away but had frequent surgery which has left me less mobile. The mattress seemed to close around me and i had the best night sleep in a long while.
The mattress had a strange smell but after a few days is slowly fading away.
If you have mobility problems or just find sleeping difficult i would recommend you try one.
The only disadvantage i can find is that the mattress holds my body heat and i seem to get hotter. Wont need warm quilts for the winter and probably only need a sheet now. Brilliant highly recommended.
The mattress came very nicely packaged. My children could not believe that a large mattress could come in such a small package.
We unwrapped it immediately and left to expanded in an aired / warm room. There was quite a strong chemical smell as suggested by other reviewers however by the next morning it has abaited significantly.
The instructions suggest that the matress will take 24 hrs to fully expand however as suggested by others I found that by the time I went to bed that night it was ready to sleep on and quite frankly I couldn’t resist as it looked so inviting.
I have now slept on the matress for 2 nights, my back problems seem much improved and I have not struggled from a pain perspective to get out of bed in the mornng. Biggest problem I have now, is I do not want to get out of bed as it is sooooo comfortable.
I would recommend this matress to anyone, best nights sleep I have had in years.
Of course it’s still a bit of a far cry from the expensive ones of this type, but if you can’t afford them this is a really good option.
I had a semi-orthopedic sprung mattress and I really hated it – it created valleys and hills, could feel every movement of my partner and I was basically forced to roll towards him as the mattress would tilt to the “heavier side”…
With this one you can forget all about it and sleep tight. Also my back pain disappeared within a week or so after using it.
It did fall quickly into shape after opening, the smell went away quite quickly. 12 hours is all you need to sleep on it.
It could be a bit thicker, but still it OK the way it is with the discounted amount I paid for it – 200.
Firstly it is infinitely more comfortable than a spring mattress more than twice the price. It was delivered within a few days of ordering and as it was vacuum packed it was easy to take up two flights of stairs.
You can’t use it for the first night, but it is worth the wait. I used to wake up early but I’ve actually been able to have a lie in at the weekend as it is so comfortable.
There is a very slight smell, but only if you put your nose in it and try to detect it.
Moreover, unlike springs there is nothing to break. Just don’t forget you need to rotate it every week for the first three months and every month thereafter to extend its life to five years. Worth it as it is light and easy to do.
I’ve used it for a few nights and so far all i can say is it’s amazing.
I’m a 16 stone man and this mattress handles me just fine eliminating my back ache suffered from my previous spring mattress.
I wanted a mattress without springs as springs wear out fast and this was my answer.
I didn’t get any of the smell other people are commenting about, maybe peoples noses are more sensitive?
In regards to the so called 5 year warranty, it’s actually a standard 1 year warranty.
Then you have to pay delivery costs for 2nd year and then other costs as the additional 3 years roll by.
Not the biggest of problems, but still a bit of a con none the less.
Update – 10.03.13 – 1 month in and is still the most comfortable mattress i’ve ever used 🙂
We have now been sleeping on it for over a week, and NO MORE PAIN!!! Also, I have a LOT MORE ENERGY — and who doesn’t need that? I must be getting great sleep. I wake up refreshed and energetic. I bounce to the kitchen and make my wife coffee in bed. Really. This mattress is a dream come true and a bargain to boot.
It comes all folded up, and they say to let it expand for 24 hours, but we let it fluff up for about 13 hours and it has been fine. You won’t regret this. Sorry John Lewis, you need to start carrying these.
Bought this mattress after looking at Tempura at 10 times the price to replace a 25 year-old mattress of excellent quality but which had me and my partner rolling into the middle. Thought I would try the silentnight as at 169 there was little to lose and reviews were good. It comes rolled up and folded in half so the first impression is that the wrong size had been delivered. After being left unwrapped for 24 hours it expands to its final size. It’s very light so very easy to handle and has proved to be very comfortable – we no longer roll together (shame), also we feel each others movements less than with the old conventional mattress. The only small negative I can think of is that the mattress is not as thick as the previous so the fitted sheet tends to move around a little, but that’s being over-critical as this is a brilliant product at a great price I thoroughly recommend it.
Strange to receive the mattress rolled up shrink wrapped in plastic bag and wondering if it will be ok time will tell, the big problem is once it is out of the packaging it will never fit back in the bag, so not sure how you could return it.
The mattress seems fine at the moment but time will tell, origianally I ordered the Kingsize one but this would of been to big and as you can’t take it out the the bag I decided to return it and order the normal double size mattress, the returns service from Amazon was really very good and collected at date and time I asked for.
I have given it 4 **** Stars the only problem is the way mattress comes shrink wrapped.
Openend it up straight away as other reviewers had said it takes 24 hours to regain it’s shape, on the leaflet that comes with it, it said it would regain shape faster in a warm environment so I whacked up the central heating and it was ready to go to bed on that night.
The mattress itself is so comfortable, I usualy wake in the night needing to turn over because my side is aching from laying on it for too long – not the case with this mattress, it also makes the bed feel warmer which is a bonus in cold months.
As other reviewers have stated there is a strong chemical smell when first opened but for us this had gone by the second night.
It’s worth noting as well that if you have a slatted bed like we have the minimum distance between slats has to be 70mm and the maximum 100mm, this information is not so helpfully located in the bag and only seen once you’ve opened it and once you’ve opened it there’s no sending it back.
Advice:
– It’s 50 more than the base offering in Amazon, with 3 layers of memory foam. I don’t know how much difference there is between the 2, but from the view of a long term investment and like another buyer commented, it’s best to get this mattress for 179.99 and not risk
– Smell was gone after a few hours in a well ventilated room
– Leave mattress to settle in a warm room. Manual sais 24 hours but I only left mine for half that time and it was fine
Like some of the other reviews it does smell a bit but that left after a few days, just leave the window open in the room.
The mattress is firm yet comfortable, i usually struggle with sleeping on my front as it creates a bend in the small of my back….this mattress is firm enough to support me in this possition!
all in all for the rediculously low price, you cannot go wrong!! this is my permenant mattress, not just something i’ve thrown in the spare room for guests to fight with!
The only down side is it’s about 3cm too small for the width of a standard double bed….but that’s minor as it’s just me in the double bed!
Conclusion = Get it, you will not be dissapointed =D
