Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersI’ve tried a few over the years and this is on par with the rest. It’s not super fast so be willing to wait, but that doesn’t bother me. The main issue is the units. It’s in Bar and UK tyre pressures are given in PSI, so be prepared to convert from one to the othe

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersGot this for my son’s bike. It works very well with a clear easy to read display and the inflator gun itself is lightweight and compact. The case is a nice convenient addition and it is good value overall as it is so useful to have with a bike. Will get a lot of use out of it over time.

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersI love it.

I used to have a portable air compressor with wire. It was a great tool but organizing the cable was a mess. Now I don’t have this problem. However, you need to charge it, so don’t forget that.

It is not the fastest, to be honest it is quite slow to inflate tyres, but it does work.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersFor a small air comressor this tyre inflator is as powerful as one can expect it to be. Once charged it is used in the same manner as any other type of inflator as the connections available are simply inserted into the valve, the presssure is set and one simply pulls and holds the trigger until the tyre is inflated.

One can’t overinflate tyres unless the pressure is set too high so as long as one sets the correct pressure the compressor cuts out once it reaches that pressure.

It is a little noisy but one should expect that from any air compressor and as it takes only a very short time to inflate a tyre it is bearable. However, it is not as noisy as those air compressors one finds at garages, that are always out of order or don’t give correct readings due to not being recalibrated after first being used.

This is a handy little tool that comes with it’s own bag for storage. As it is small it takes little room at all in the boot of a car so one can quickly reinflate a tyre roadside, without having to wait hours for a recovery vehicle to turn up. There are some good puncture repair kits available so it would be wise to get one along with purchasing this as should one get a puncture a temporary repair and a reinflation of the tyre can be done in minutes .

I am recommending this product as it does the job it is designed to do, it is good qua
lity and good value for what it can deliver.

Golden Review Award: 81 From Our UsersThis inflator is brilliant, it is fairly light to hold and the battery life is decent for a handheld device.

The tyre inflator is not that noisy compared to other inflators that I have used and genuinely if you get a flat tyre and need to get to a garage this can make the difference between sitting by a roadside for hours and staying on course with your journey.

Well worth having in the car, it is a foolproof device and well made at that.

Golden Review Award: 94 From Our UsersI really like this device a lot. It has replaced a foot pump that was used for both car and cycle tyres. Pumping bike tyres isn’t too bad with a manual pump but car tyres definitely take it out of me and I usually use a petrol station’s machine. Now this hand-held cordless inflator has transformed what was a tedious job.
The instruction manual is written in rather shaky English, but it’s clear enough to get to grips with the operation of the pump. By pressing the “R” button on the rear panel, above the LCD display, the machine is switched on. A bright LED on the front also comes on – this is for inflating tyres in the dark and it is bright enough to make it easy to attach the air hose to the tyre valve in complete darkness. Continuing to press the “R” button toggles through the different methods of expressing air pressure (in PSI, BAR, KPA or KG/cm2). Once selected you use the + and – buttons below the display to set the pressure to the one you want the pump to reach. The hose is then pushed on to the tyre valve and locked on, by pressing the short lever down at right-angle to the valve. The LCD display will show the current pressure in the tyre at this point – if it’s already at the pressure you need then you can put the pump away. If not, pressing the trigger starts the pump, which is quite noisy (it startled me when it first started). It continues its work of pumping air until it reaches the pre-set pressure. The simply lift the lever on the valve and detach the hose and move on to the next tyre, changing the pressure if required (for instance between front and rear tyres on a vehicle).
The pump comes with a variety of adapters to suit different kinds of tyre valve, plus a yellow extension hose. There’s also a unique power lead which you plug in to a USB phone-type charger to charge the inflator’s internal battery. Unusually, the the USB plug has an LED inside, which lights up in red when plugged in, and in blue when the battery is fully charged. A nice touch. A simple zipped nylon pouch is supplied to keep the kit in.
This product may seem quite expensive but it’s proved to be invaluable to me. It’s kept in the car boot, next to the spare, and reassures me that I shouldn’t have too many problems keeping my tyres correctly inflated on a regular basis. I think the price is fair and the quality good. I can recommend this with enthusiasm.

Golden Review Award: 81 From Our UsersSmiling Shark Tyre Inflator: I always feel under pressure (no pun intended) when a go to a garage to check my car tyres, as soon as I put the money in and the machine starts to churn I go into panic mode and develop flippers for hands. So I was keen to try this machine to see if it would save me some angst and it has!

The machine is possibly a little plasticky, however it comes with a range of connectors and a air hose for your various inflatable needs, which are well made and attach easily, as do the other components provided. It’s very lightweight and easy to manoeuvre and the digital display is bright and easy to read. Really useful being able to charge by USB as means it can be charged virtually anywhere, including in the car should you be out and about and need to use it.

There’s really nothing complicated about this gadget, you can pre-set the required pressure, check your tyres and top up if required. It will automatically cut off when it reaches the pre-set figure. I noted some bad press for this item in a few reviews but I’ve used on my car tyres, bicycle tyres and a children’s paddling pool and have found it brilliant. I feel it’s fair value for the cost of 49.99 (at time of review) and I can certainly check my tyres in my own time and without feeling like a preforming seal, so it’s a thumbs up from me.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersWell I’m surprised on the bad reviews on this product for the price it’s a good bit of kit so far we have used it on my partners car and my child’s bike comes with all the connectors you need it is quite slow but what do you expect from a little handheld machine.
Comes with instruction manual which is easy enough to read and also has its own carry case so can store everything together.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersWorks well for topping up your tyres – set a pressure, pull the trigger and away you go. Fully automated, it stops at (just over) the pressure set. There’s even a light to help you find the valve if needed. The kit includes the usual range of adapters and an airline extension should it be required.

Like others have said it’s not the quickest unit but I wouldn’t say it was any slower than any of those 12V pumps that attach to the cigarette lighter outlet. To pump my cars tyres from 24 PSI to 32 PSI I would say took no more than 90 seconds each.

Where it comes into its own is if you need to pressurise the expansion vessel in a combi boiler – nearly impossible to do with a regular foot pump due to length of hose but this baby makes it a breeze.

What I didn’t like was the charging lead – if you leave the lead plugged into the unit but your usb charger turned off, the unit seems to supply power to the LED in the end of the lead – this means I can’t leave it in my countdown timer plug as the LED draws power from the unit when the plug and hence charger turn off – a simple diode placed inside the unit could have cured this, a bit of a design oversight…

It’s quite pricey but very convenient and saves getting a workout at the curb side if all you have is a foot pump.

Golden Review Award: 84 From Our UsersI am puzzled at the various negative comments I have read about this. I have a good idea about these as I have at various times tested several different brands. This one is the best of them and probably worth the higher price, although the budget one I tried wasn’t bad.

First problem – the manual. I don’t know why you would need a manual to use this. I am far from an expert but it took me almost no time to figure it out and set it up, which compares favourably with the fiddling around I have done before.

Next, the speed. Yes it is slow. Well this poor little machine has to work very hard to get your tyres almost as hard as concrete. It takes up to about 3 minutes depending on how flat the tyre is. This is about the same as the others I have tried which take power from the car battery. For a USB-charged pump, that is pretty good.

Next problem, the accessories. You have everything you need here to pump a car, bike and most other things you might want to use it for. The accessories are good quality and totally airtight, unlike some I have toiled with.

I have one little gripe – the units on the gauge are in bar while most British cars give the pressure requirement in PSI. 1 bar = 14.5 PSI so if your car wants 35 PSI you need to divide by 14.5 = 2.4.

Overall this is a first rate product (assuming it lasts) and, trust me, a rechargeable pump is miles better than polluting your drive with a pump that runs off uses the car battery and needs to have the engine running.

It has a digital LED pressure gauge and automatically shuts off at the correct pressure.

It has a built-in LED light.

The pump is portable and lightweight so it is ideal for transporting to campsites, festivals or taking on holiday.

Like the design and has a good grip.

Comes with multiple nozzle attachments, making it perfect not only for cars, but also for motorcycles, bicycles, ATVs, Jeeps, sports balls, air mattresses and water toys.

    Good value for the money.

My partner was happy using it as it can inflate pretty fast.

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersI like this a lot. I had a couple of tyres that only needed a little air put into them and it did it relatively quickly. The last one needed more which took a little longer. Maybe adding 6 psi took about five minutes.
By the end of the four it did smell a little. But maybe just being overworked on its first use. I will keep an eye on the smell.

Very easy to use and set up and charge.
    Happy to recommend.

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersOther tyre inflators I’ve had have been quite large and bulky, this is very compact and as it’s rechargeable it makes it much easier to use.
A full charge should be enough to top up your tyres but I wouldn’t want to rely on it to fully inflate a tyre but that’s rarely going to be needed.
You can preset the correct pressure so you don’t need to constantly watch the gauge, it stops automatically.
It comes with a handy bag to store it in and fits under the car seat out of the way.
Comes with a variety of valves so you can inflate balls and air beds as well.
Definitely better than the cumbersome ones that need to be plugged in to work.

Golden Review Award: 74 From Our UsersThis is a neat, compact and effective unit that is perfect for topping up the car tyres and even better for bicycle tyres. It runs up to a max of 150psi and has no problem delivering that kind of pressure without issue. Of course, if you also use it for other tasks such as inflating footballs, scooter tyres, etc. It’s a versatile piece of kit.

In use, with the unit fully charged, I topped up my car tyres, which I usually check every two weeks,
without any issues at all merely following the instructions. As a regular cyclist, I did the same
and again the process was simple and efficient. The big plus is just how easy it is to carry around, making it perfect for the glove box in the car or for keeping in my panniers while cycling. It’s also pretty handy for my regular cycling touring trips where I use an inflatable sleeping mat and pillow as well as the bike. It holds its charge well and it’s ready to go when needed. Only takes a few hours to fully recharge from empty and runs for a max of 15 minutes which is plenty long enough for most tasks.

It’s just a great little unit and I’m more than happy to recommend it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is PSI inflating and you require some knowledge of this in order to use this really my boyfriend says. It has a blue dial with black lettering so it’s clear. It comes detachable hose. Out its comfortable to hold its gun shaped. Easier to use than petrol station air pump. However this is not really suitable for a beginner. There are easier to use gadgets out there.

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersInteresting variation for a emergency use pump for the car etc. Shaped like a Star Trek TOS phaser with a trigger to operate. It does come with a handy selection of accessories, the yellow extension being the most useful.
Performance is not great, but comparable with similar devices. Plenty output at the beginning, but slows as it fights higher pressures. Don’t let this put you off, you will need deeper pockets for better.
Great to have in the car for emergencies, plenty oomf to get you a bit further down the road.

Golden Review Award: 81 From Our UsersI love this tyre inflator. I’ve just pumped up the tyre on my wheelbarrow, a simple thing you may think but if the pump had not been rechargeable, I would have to drag the wheelbarrow either through the house or round our neighbours garden round to the front street, switch the car engine on, attach the pump to the lighter thingy and then pump the tyre up. Then I would have to disconnect the pump, put it back in the boot, turn the engine off and lock the car up and trundle the wheelbarrow back.
Now I just have to take the inflator out of the bag, attach to the tyre and press the trigger. Cool. And you can change the type of measurement by just pressing the on button a few times till you have the one you use (PSI, BAR, KPA, kg/sq cm)
It inflated quickly and no noisier than you would expect from a compressor. Of course it isn’t silent, it’s not supposed to be.

You can input the pressure you need and the machine will stop when It reaches that pressure, really light, comfortable to use and fits nicely into the zipped bag provided.

It comes with all the accessories you will need for balls, inflatables, paddling pools, balloons etc. and some sort of clip and extension hose, not sure what they are for or how they are used, probably never need them whatever they are.

I’m really pleased with this, I wouldn’t change a thing, so glad I’ve got it.

    Beautifully portable and fast inflating.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersThis is an excellent tyre inflator, very easy and convenient to use.
I like the hand-held ‘pistol’ type design of this inflator, its very easy to use, comfortable to hold and, unlike many other types of inflators, doesn’t require you to kneel or crouch down next to the tyre to use it. You just need to lean down a bit to connect the hose, then you hold the inflator in your hand while it works. For me that is a really positive point as I have arthritis problems in my knees so all that grovelling on the floor gets really painful and awkward.
I like also the quick and easy connector that fits to the tyre nozzle with just a push and flip of a lever – much easier than those screw connectors.
The fact that this is a rechargeable device is really handy too. You can charge it up from a mains point in your house or garage or even from the 12V socket in your car. This means you can whizz round your car and do all four tyres without that annoying process of having to connect the lead of the inflator to your car cigarette lighter socket and then, halfway round, swap it over to come out the other side door to do the tyres on that side.
It also makes it much easier to use the inflator for pumping up other things (with the selection of accessory nozzles included in the pack.) For instance, I have a sack truck in the garage that has pneumatic tyres and on the occasional times I have to use it, I always find the tyres are flat but i never get round to pumping them up because of the inconvenience of having to take the sack truck out and sit with it by the side of the car while I run the inflator off the car cigarette lighter. But, with this device, I went into the garage yesterday and, in a matter of minutes, had quickly and easily (finally) pumped up those tires!
It comes in a handy little storage/carrying case too.

Excellent, rechargeable tyre inflator, very easy and convenient to use.

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersThis review is for the SMILING SHARK Tyre Inflator, Protable Air Compressor, 12V 150 PSI Cordless Tire Inflator, Car Tire Pump with LED Light, Digital Gauge Air Pump for Motor Bike Basketball Football Home or Travel

49.99 at the time of review.

You can see what you get in the advert so I’ll not describe the accessories here.

The quick release connector is excellent but very tight and awkward to remove, but did loosen off after some use. It is certainly much easier to use than the more normal threaded connector most pumps have. And it has a light so it is easier to use in the dark.

You can set the pressure you want with the buttons on the screen on the back of the pump and it shuts off when it reaches your preset.

It was easy to use, easy to hold and was quite fast at blowing up the tyres I tried it on. I think the inflation tube could be a little bit longer but I am picking faults here. The digital gauge kept updating as more air was put into the tyre, but for the last tyre I inflated, I simply left the pump lying on the ground to do its thing and watched for it shutting off, which it did.

The real advantage of this pump is that you don’t need to plug it into the cigarette socket to power it on: the disadvantage is that if you keep it on the boot and only use it rarely, the battery may be too low to use it at all. I put air into four tyres, blowing them up from around 28psi to 32psi and the battery gauge showed half full. When I switched it on again to try once more, the battery gauge showed full. I also found I had to hold the trigger down for a few seconds for the pump to work. It took me a bit to realise that after I moved to inflate the second tyre.

It can be used away from the car though which is great if you need to inflate things where you don’t have a power source. It is light, it has its own bag to keep it and the accessories in, and it is small and easy to hold. I really like this gizmo but the price and the battery life is making me give it 4 stars, but I am happy to recommend it. I’ll be keeping it in the boot and using it more than any other tyre inflator simply because it is so easy to use.

Golden Review Award: 83 From Our UsersBuilt to look halfway between a Star Trek weapon and a game controller, looks are definitely deceptive. This works a treat and is pleasingly fast as well.

What doesn’t set this apart, is my pet hate – the manual? – it helps guide you through the basic setup of button pressing etc, however, the manual is not the one for this pump. According to the manual, it includes a car adaptor for charging (no it doesn’t), and it does not include a hose adaptor (yes it does). If the pump didn’t work as well as it does, I’d have knocked this down to a 3 star rating as I consider this to be very poor.

I feel it’s a little overpriced but, as said, it works well. I’ll probably use this more for my 2 wheel travel than my 4, as it includes an under-saddle storage area to keep the pump safe and dry as well as a usb charging point.

If you’d not used any type of portable tyre pump, you would be in trouble if you buy this due to the poor guidance. If you have used a portable pump before, you will not be disappointed in the power and usefulness of this.

Golden Review Award: 84 From Our UsersI got this for my son’s car and had the opportunity to test it the day it arrived, as he had a tyre that was a bit low on air.

So, this inflator looks like a games controller, it is ergonomically designed and nice to hold, you actually have a yellow trigger which operates the inflator.

At the back you have a little button at the top, tis changes the readings, all you need to do is press it and it shows up on a little screen under it, also you need to press this button for a few seconds to switch on the light and on, the light is located at the front. You can also set the pressure to be set using the plus and minus buttons under the little screen as well.

There are a number of adaptors for different things, so for bikes, cars, inflatables and other things like footballs, the main lead is connected and cannot be removed, you put this on the tyre valve and lock it down, included as well is a very nice zipped case to house everything, so very handy.

we set the pressure and connected the hose to the valve, locked it down and pressed the yellow button, I warn you it is very loud, but also it is quick as well, the tyre pressure was 10 psi, it went from this to 32 psi in around 4 minutes, so not too bad, it also automatically shuts off when the set pressure is reached.

Whilst I do like this inflator, it is cordless, so you need to charge it, so this is one benefit, it has a light, it is fairly quick, has lots of bits and a case, so lots of good points, but the price point is a tad too high, I would like to see it a bit cheaper, as most people will be put off by the price, but if you can afford it, then it is certainly worth buying. I would have given this five stars, but the price means one star off, so four stars, which is still a good rating for this inflator.
