I’ve downsized from a B&W M1 package, Denon receiver and large sub, so was not expecting to be as impressed as I am! Dialogue is crystal clear, decent width to the sound and excellent with music.
I was tired of the satellite speakers taking over our living room, so there is a compromise if you don’t buy SL surrounds but not as big a miss as would have thought.
For those not coming from a full surround package, this is superb for music and movies with a decent amount of bass and should satisfy.
Personally, I will need the Sub Gen 3 to get back the full oomph and some extra separation but am thoroughly impressed as it is!
The Sonos S2 app is particularly impressive with a decent amount of flexibility without overdoing the complexity.
Was sceptical about the Sonos hype but am now sold and can’t wait to receive the Sonos Sub to complete my setup.
Just brilliant! Easy to set up and pair. Love the tuning option for mapping the room it’s used in for better overall sound optimisation. Build quality is excellent and the sound bar is huge and really heavy, looks well premium. The seller I used double boxed it so it was well protected but Sonos packaging is of a really high quality as well and protect the sound bar really well. It’s expensive but it’s really improved my film sound quality and viewing experience so think it’s worth it. The inbuilt tv speakers these days are very poor, I have a LG C2 77 inch OLED and the inbuilt speakers are terrible! Dolby digital plus blew me away. Don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you invest in the Arc !
Coupled with Sonos Sub and masters subscription to Tidal, the result is an extraordinary soundstage for music, movies spring to life. Read all the reviews you like, but be in no doubt, it’s really really good.
Sound quality is excellent, for the money it’s brilliant teamed it up with a couple of Sonos ones excellent bass so don’t need a sub.
If you’re thinking twice about this, don’t. Just buy it and you won’t regret it (if you can afford it). I was skeptical when I first ordered it as I was going off a couple of YouTube videos and written reviews elsewhere and it was the most I’d ever spent on a soundbar/speaker. However it’s probably the best entertainment addition I’ve ever made for my setup and it’ll blow you away, I promise.
Expensive but worth it sound is brilliant. One point to solve problems with lip sync Sky Q etc bought HDFury Arcana not cheap 187 but solved all problems otherwise you will not be able to lip sync and I personally found it really annoying.
Brilliant value for money. Extremely well made fits nicely In Front of the tv and love that it canes in white so on my unit it’s virtually visible
I love this soundbar, it looks amazing and sounds great. I upgraded from the sonos playbar, which looks so old fashioned compared to this. I have it paired with 2 x ones and I feel that this gives me a great home cinema experience. Having apple airplay 2, is also really convenient for me.
My fianc loves it, I bought it for him and he couldn’t wait to get it set up. Sound is great and all the features are really good. I would definitely recommend. I thought it was a bit pricey but I’m told it’s worth it.
Quite expensive but the difference is really noticeable, especially if you only listened the TV with internal speakers. You need eARC support to take advantage for uncompressed true HD audio potential but with ARC you can reach DD+, enough for almost everybody.
FULL SONOS ARC REVIEW
The below review is a honest opinion of this product.
so I received my Sonos arc last week and couldn’t wait to get it opened, ive owned many soudbars and 5.1 system over the years including many of which were Dolby Atmos.
the packaged arrived in a rather large brown box, I was quite surprised at how big it was. Once this was opened you are greeted with a Long white box with 2 clips on either side, these need to be flicked to the side before you can open the full box itself. Once opened your met with some Sonos branded paper work (warranty) and underneath there is the Sonos Arc itself wrapped in a little cotton blanket for protection, once this has been removed you will be greeted with the Sonos arc itself including the 76000 machine drilled holed. It really is a thing of beauty. Underneath the Arc there is a HDMI lead and a power lead, im not sure if the HDMI lead is 2.1 capable or not but I suspect so.
On the back of the Arc there is a power port, HDMI (eARC), network port and a pairing button.
setup – so to set the osundbar up you need to connect all the leads up but making sure you connect the sounder to the Arc/eArc cdmi port on your TV. once this has been done you are ready to go into the S2 app and begin the set up process, create an account and then follow the simple onscreen instructions, its really easy and you can’t really go wrong. Then you get to the True play setup, this is only available on IOS and not Android so please bare that in mind, this involves walking around your room waving your phone up and down, the sonos system sends out test tones and then the app caters the sound to your room.
onto performance, I was blown away by this soundbar, it sounds fantastic, I owned the Samsung hw-90 sounder which was the cream of the crop last year, the Sonos is Arc is far superior. sound it well balanced, plenty of bass and well spread, you really won’t be disappointed. Mad Max in Dolby Atmos simply sound superb on this soundbar.
there are a couple of caveats here though. if your wanting to use this soundbar for Dolby Atmos (im guessing you do) then you need to have either a high end LG tv with Arc (Dolby Atmos) pass through or a tv that supports eARC. I had this connected to an LG B8 which doesn’t have eArc, it did pass through Dolby Atmos but there was a slight lip sync issue where the sound was a couple of seconds behind the picture, I then connected this up to a LG B9 with eArc and the lip sync issue was no longer.
Another caveat is that I can’t seem to get google assistant to work, it seems to get stuck in a loop trying to take mt o the App Store even though I have the google assistant app installed, I think this is a software bug so hopefully will be resolved soon.
another emission is that true play is only available on IOS and not android, not sure why this is but it really does make a big difference to the way the soundbar performs.
this may be a deal breaker for some.
Overall though you really do get what you pay for with this, it sounds fantastic alone but pair it up with a couple of Sonos One Sl’s and a Sonos sub and it really does feel like your int the cinema.
Its expensive but worth it.

Thank you so much amazon for this incredible sonos arc love it!
I’ve got the Sonos Playbar which is currently on eBay (now sold), and have the second generation sub and two play 1’s. The set up was an absolute dream as per usual and used my iPad to set up Trueplay. Totally blown away by the overall sound of the Sonos ARC. Really feels like being in the Cinema now! This is worth every penny. Next will be the TV upgrade to get the full Atoms experience as I currently have the ARC input and not the eARC which is on the current SMART TVs. For now I am like a kid with a new toy. If you can afford it, don’t hesitate and get it. There are no complaints. Gradually upgrade your stuff, be patient and enjoy the experience!
