Paired these with a Sonos beam and used with Dolby atmos tv, excellent quality and sound, great for movies or listening music with great clarity
I bought these speakers to go with the new sonos gen 2 beam soundbar and am I glad I did! if you love the sound bar these are the next level for your sound I am blown away they have pride of place (behind my ears) they are simpley stunning for sound there is nothing I don’t like about sonos just my opinion but hard to beat and I like technology I can’t think of anything bad to say about sonos so I won’t. Ps all just my opinion.
Sounds absolutely amazing and easily paired with existing Sonos products! Looks clean and sounds perfec
Recently came back to SONOS after several years – I sold the original Play:1s and Play:5s about 5 years ago because there was a known issue when playing music from an iOS device using the ‘this iPad’ option in the Sonos app where it would skip songs halfway through.
Fast forward to 2022 and after trying an Apple HomePod Mini with limited success due to slow/no response issues I bought a One SL.
The SL means without microphone so you can’t shout at it – which I have no desire to do, I just want it to play music that I select with my finger! It is exactly the same sound engine/processor as the Gen2 One.
Sound quality is great and it is nice and loud in our medium sized lounge – I’m not sure I need it any louder but might still buy another one for the stereo pair feature.
Had no issues with lack of response, slow, lag etc and I play music either from Apple Music via the SONOS app or more frequently via AirPlay2 directly from the iPad/iPhone.
Very pleased I came back to SONOS and ditched the useless HomePods.
Amazing product, easy to setup and use, sound is awesome.
So good i now have 3 of them around the house
The material it’s made from feels premium. A bit on the weighty side but not to much. Works amazing in the ecosystem sonos created. I use it together with a sub gen 3 and a sonos one gen 2 whole listening tidal and YouTube premium. Only disadvantage is that you can’t use it as computer monitor and you need an bar to connect it on TV. Also it uses Alexa and Google assistant which is amazing but neither supports tidal in the uk and Alexa doesn’t support YouTube premium either so for the moment I’m using google assistant.
There is a lot of hate in the reviews for Sonos products, but the information that’s being spouted about the products only lasting 5 years, is in fact incorrect.
The actual statement was, the products are at a minimum going to run for 5 years AFTER THE PRODUCT IS NO LONGER BEING SOLD.
Therefore everyone saying the products would only last 5 years before you’d have to buy another, are wrong. Be aware, and DYOR!!
Using them as surround for the Ray bar.
The sound quality is amazing especially when you want to listen to low volume.
Working great but sometimes I need to unplug them to make them working again and I am not sure is the actually connection but rather seems to be some bug. It looks is when switching between the actual TV mode and the music mode.
What else. Small, compact and the only think I do miss is the Bluetooth connectivity but Sonos being greedy not everyone can afford their top devices.
I love these speakers. I bought this one to add to an existing Sonos One and make a stereo pair. Great sound. Easy to set up. Very happy.
Perfect gift I keep adding to my Sonos system so there is always something to buy me.
Connected to all my existing sonos kit perfectly this completed my surround sound in the tv room
I have a fair bit of Sonos kit, Playbar, Arc, Subs, I bought a couple of One SLs to complete 5.1 sound on my gaming room setup, so installed with an Arc and Sub as rear speakers. All my gear works on the current Sonos app, and to date despite the obselesence threats from Sonos all the kit works fine with the app and updates as necessary. The speakers were easy to install, although they added as games room 1 and 2 as a location initially and I then had to ‘move’ them in the app to the Arc and Sub to complete the system. This was easy enough to be fair.
Unfortunately despite the sound quality Sonos is playing with fire when it comes to the obselesence issue and could lose many loyal customers. Much of my audio gear here is Sonos, with a smattering of Bose, the Bose stuff is great, but Sonos has the edge.
Sound quality is amazing, plan on getting another one for another room
Great sound quality you won’t regret it easy to set up took about 5 mins
I use these just about in every room added as a surround sound system to the TV apart from the kitchen where I use a single unit . Absolutely quality , awesome sound and best purchase ever .
Ordered two of these to link up to my Sonos beam. Have never really been that impressed with the beam on its own as I wear hearing aids and had to have the volume set up high. I have just linked the two Sonos One SL’s and my goodness, what a fantastic difference it has made. Having these two speakers just behind me and im having to turn the volume down to around 10 instead of 30. The stereo effect from these speakers is truly amazing and you feel like you are actually in the movie instead of watching it. I should have bought these years ago. A bit pricey, but the speakers are quality and so worth the money. Thanks Amazon for a swift delivery as usual. Would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.
I added these speakers to a beam and sub woofer to benefit from surround sound. The sound and build quality is excellent and they are really easy to add using the Sonos app. They are a bit more expensive than some systems but this is the third set up I’ve tried and this Sonos combination is easily the best.
I’m using it as surrounds for my arc and sub Gen 3. Its been set up easily and works flawlessly till now. Its powerful enough sound from each of them and can feel the sound separation very well when its Dolby 5.1 or even Dolby Atmos.
Wires are still little short for me since my plug points are little far away at the back of the room. So I’m using an extension cord for one of the speakers.
May be I need to do additional investment and buy a stand so that I can get them closer to each other.
Bought this to pair with my Sonos One as you don’t need two speakers with Alexa. These are identical to Sonos One minus Alexa so save yourself some money buying this one or buy two of these if you’re not bothered about Alexa. Sound is amazing. Setting up is simple and pairing with any other Sonos speakers is a breeze with the Sonos phone app.
Does it’s job as expected – using 2 of these as surround speakers with my Sonos Arc. Work wonderfully as a complete surround system! Super easy to set up through the Sonos app.
I have not used these standalone so cannot comment on individual performance.
Great build quality too as would be the norm at this price point. 4 stars for me though as buying two of these just to use as surrounds is very expensive. If there was an upfiring speaker at the same price point for maximising Dolby Atmos content then it would be 5 stars!
Decent sound for it’s price, loud enough for an apartment, easy to connect to Spotify and phone. I use it in the kitche
This is a great speaker and sounds amazing on its own as well as a set up surround sound also very easy to set up with the sonos app
This is our lounge hi fi now. Easy to set up and use with Spotify.
I got 2 of them to replace the Bose soundbar I had and didn’t work properly. Very satisfied with the sound quality.
The only issue it has a poor bass compared to the Bose one, as well as its app, is not user friendly which means that you need to spend time learning how to decode it before first use.
Good sound and quality, double the size of Alexa though all in a good product and cheaper than Sonos web site .
Extremely happy regarding this item.
Looks amazing and the sound is great.
This is my 3rd and Originally I thought it was expensive for a single speaker, But after knowing it’s capability I’d be willing to pay more.
The bass for such a small device is epic even outside in the garden, Ours play throughout the house so going room to room with same songs playing is great.
Loads of Apps, You can connect through smart devices easily and Add a hub to connect to smarthings.
Even people with no I.T skills can easily set up and use it’s step by step guides are great, And the combined with a phone or tablet they are easy to adjust.
Amazing quality sound from such a small speaker and so versatile. I have 3 now around the house. Great quality and solid build.
This is the 5th one of these I have and they are grea
This is the 5th one of these I have and they are grea
I bought a single ONE SL for my conservatory – when I am sitting in my armchair doing the crossword or reading. It’s perfect. Easy to download the iPhone app [Sonos 2]; just press the button on the back and one is connected [see what I did there?]. I’m an old fashioned ‘album man’ so I don’t need to fiddle around with YouTube or any of that other stuff. The app is great and I use Qobuz which is excellent [much better quality sound than Spotify – CD and Hi Res quality as opposed to MP3]. So I am very happy. Robust stuff! A great bit of kit. Excellent sound – good bass, crisp, bright top end, pleasing separation and nice density – lovely. Recommended unequivocally.
Having received a One 2nd Gen as a gift, I immediately bought this to male a stereo pair. Astounding sound, so impressed that im now considering replacing my cinema sound setup with all its wires with thr sonos arc 5.1.2 system. A real investment in sound!
Love dancing to this product. Mostly the foxtrot.
BUT! Sonos: please make the app easier to change the wifi the device is connected to for goodness sake!
Good speaker but I wish it would work as a stereo pair with the Sonos Play.
Bought a pair of these for the audio in my Mac. They set up very easily including the procedure for stereo matching and sound great. I have one reservation which may well be a Mac issue rather than a Sonos one and I’m putting this here purely for anyone thinking of buying for the same reason.
When I start up my music library or any web based music sources, it can take up to 15 seconds after the music starts playing before it comes through the speakers. I produce radio shows and often have to listen to and edit very short segments of music. Due to the delay, this is impossible and I have to revert to headphones for this task. As I say this may well be an Apple issue but it certainly makes this a consideration for anyone buying the product for this reason. If you’re buying them purely for listening to music then I’d thoroughly recommend them as the sound quality is excellent.
Excellent sound but after buying the Sub Bass which is expensive but it did take the sound to an other level, I was considering the Naim but glad with taking the Sonus
Second one I have bought, bit of a chore to get working, but when you do, the sound is perfec
Set up was really easy, just following short printed instruction, then online guidelines. Individual unit set up, pairing in stereo were really straight forward, as was adding an additional unit. Adding music services was a little tricky to understand (separate Spotify accounts), but once we understood, relating that for the rest of the family was easy too. The sound fills the room or rooms when we have them all on… rich and clear and so good to control it all from our phones!
Bought this for my parents for Christmas. Was able assist them over the phone to get it set up and running. They have been raving about the sound quality and the ease of using the app.
