Was good quality. Like that you can change the direction of the handle. Was impressed
This is an excellent support accessory that works in all configurations. WARNING!!
Pole does NOT ADJUST TO LOWER THAN 8
Feet!!. Web page says that it will but this is false. If ceiling height is lower than 8 fr. IT WILL NOT WORK!
The security bar /stand was purchased to provide safety when entering and exiting a soaker tub for an ill male senior. Due to its durability and ease of installation the bar will remain in place for grandchildren and adults who use the tub in the future.
Robuste facile utiliser. Je l’utilise pour me coucher et me lever de mon lit suite une opration dans le bas du dos (fusion lombaire L4 & L5)
My husband had surgery and need help in the bathroom getting up. Best ever invention.
The unit is heavy but with the help of a couple of neighbours, it was assembled and installed in less than 20 minutes. There isn’t a need to anchor it into the floor as the top butts quite firmly against the ceiling. I am able to rise up and down from the throne without fear of falling over, or tripping over my wheelie which was my previous medical assistance device. It is also building upper body muscles, which is a wonderful thing. I highly recommend this product.
It very helpful when trying to get up or down from a bed or bathroom area.
In recuperation from rehab, the pole has made it possible for me to shower! A really wonderful devise!
I would have given 5 stars on every category but the instructions weren’t as clear as I would have liked. I finally got it put together and mounted in my elderly, recent back surgery, mother’s room. WOW! I didn’t use the mounting screws as it’s extremely sturdy, I hung on it before letting her use it. This is by FAR the best safety device/bar I’ve purchased. This includes having safety bars installed in her bathtub. I found a ‘used’ safety pole and saved about $45.00. No defects or missing pieces. If you have a loved one who needs safety bars, RUN to purchase this one. I read customer reviews for most of my purchases on Amazon. I also write, positive or negative, reviews to help others make informed decisions. You will not regret this purchase. Very stable and sturdy and after (finally) figuring out how to install, it’s easy to install. I put this pole next to her bed.
I am a new amputee and use this to make it easier to get into the shower, which is too big to put grab bars where you can reach both at the same time.
Highly recommend it – easy to install and no damage when we removed it to send home with the individual that needed help while staying with us. We were ready to install grab bars when we discovered this product- it saved our tile and bathroom look.
Bought this to help my dad get out of his hospital bed. We put it right next to the bed and he can grab it and get himself up.
The nursing home gave me permission to put this in my mom’s room, since it doesn’t require any holes to be drilled (but you can if you want to). It assembled easily, and is very sturdy. Highly recommended.
So easy to assemble, fits easily and 100% sturdy. Looks good and can be asily moved.
This product provides assistance for senior or infirm in the shower. We call it our stripper pole due to it’s sturdiness and reliability!
The first package I received I could tell that it was open/used before. The second one was fine. This is a good product.
I live alone now, in a two-storey home, and have extremely limited mobility. Getting up the stairs has been a challenge, but there are good railings in place. The problem has been the last step up from the stairs to the floor–no railing, and no way to add one.
I got this, and my brother-in-law installed it for me in minutes. It’s made a gigantic difference. When I get up to the scary final stair step, I can grab hold of one of the curve grab bars, and it makes me safe, and secure, getting up the rest of the way.
Best purchase of the year!!!
Vous avez un problme de sant, moi je l’ai achet et je peu vous dire que cette barre est trs facile a mont et trs robuste. Je me sens en scurit dans la douche. Trs belle invention!
My wife has Parkinson’s disease.
This is a game change
This product was exactly what was needed to assist my husband with his severe mobility issues. This product enabled him to use his upper body strength to get out of his hospital bed and transfer with ease into his wheelchair as well as transferring from the wheelchair bac into the hospital bed. This product was an answer to prayer. The PT was amazed at how beneficial this product was and wanted to share this product information with others who have mobility challenges.
This thing is a lifesaver! I had knee surgery and really didn’t want to do the raised toilet seat route or handrails on either side of the toilet, they all seemed flimsy and it would be one more thing I’d have to clean. This pole is EASY to install, less than 5 minutes. I took the very good advise of another reviewer and made sure the area of the ceiling was level, which is tricky in our house because it’s 120 years old, almost nothing is level and the toilets are very low! I’m 5.8ft and 58 years old, and with one hand on the pole can lower myself or pull myself up very easily. It holds all of my 190lbs and doesn’t budge. We positioned it in between the tub and the toilet which has the added bonus of giving me something to hold on to getting in and out of the shower. When I don’t need it anymore my plan is to take it down, put it away and when I need hip replacement in a few years get it out again! Definitely recommend this.
Used for a walk in shower for my 93 years young mom. Very strong built and a breeze to install. A little expensive but fits my style very well. I was told not to use inside the shower as it may rust but nothing showing after 3 month use.
Yes it is a bit fumbley to put together, but once it is up it is sturdily in place.
My elderly father-in-law loves it! Helps him in and out of bed!
It’s always been hard to get out of bed and then he broke his ribs. This was a game changer. Well deigned, sturdy and easy to install.
It is usable outside the shower and inside the shower. It rotates in 45 degree increments, with hard stops.
I purchased this to help me getting in and out of my walk-in bath which has a belt seat. It is superb and gives me all the help I need, with the grab bar easy to position exactly where I want it. Assembly instructions were easy to understand and follow and I had it unpacked and set up within 30 minutes of arrival. I laid it flat on the floor in my living room to assemble and then moved it to my bathroom, where I tied it to the radiator to support it , whilst adjusting the height. I am nearly 80 and only 5 feet tall!
Just a word of warning, it is very heavy, so it might be safer to have a young or strong person to set it up, to avoid any mishap. It is a very sturdy, well-made product that even came with a spanner to adjust the height. The ceiling support has excellent pads to protect your decor and is very stable in position. A further advantage is that i could be moved to a different location without any damage to floor or ceiling.
My husband is 80 years old and has Alzheimers. It works great beside the shower to hang on to getting in and out. Quick 5 minute install…very easy.
My father’s lower body strength had reduced. It was very difficult for him to get up. This pole solved the problem. It is very easy to setup. It is very sturdy. I doubted it’s strength at first but it doesn’t move at all when I tested it myself and I weigh 205 pounds. I typically don’t write reviews. But I felt I needed to let people know how much this can help them.
I installed this after my husband who has PSP had a horrible variant of Parkinson’s. This has provided him so much security and stability. It’s also given me piece of mind knowing he’s safe.
I needed to get a device that wouldn’t require permanent installation, as I needed it on a temporary basis, but would provide support to someone that had a stroke and had use of his left side only. This device works really well. I have it in the shower area and it works better than grab bars, to be honest. The handle swivels so I can move it where needed or move it out of the way. I would have liked to order another one but since I only need it temporarily i couldn’t justify the additional cost.
I probably could have just gone with an elevated toilet seat with handles for about $75, but I want him to remain used to getting up from 17″-18″ toilet seats, so he can negotiate commodes when we are away from home.
I placed Security Pole between the toilet and shower stall, so It also provides some extra stability as he steps out of the shower.
Then, once I got it set up, we practiced together while we figured out the best pole placement, and also for him to practice to find his best hand placement.
Even without using the included screws the pole seems sturdy enough (according to the directions the screws are optional).
Surprisingly, this was not too hard to install by myself (I’m 5’2″ and pretty handy). But it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have an extra pair of hands (and extra brain), especially when tweaking the pole placement, and reading the directions.
I thought the directions were fairly easy to follow for the most part, although they are mostly diagrams with only short sentences for each step.
However, I did get a little confused about the ceiling height part of the instructions, which seem to say to remove part B if ceiling height is 7 foot, because most ceilings aren’t going to be exactly 7 or 8 foot (or 9 or 10) I found that confusing. In retrospect, I assume that means you only have to remove Part B if the ceiling is LESS than 7 foot. I was so focused on that part of the instructions that I accidentally removed the plastic sleeve instead (which was not labeled in the diagram). So that left the threads exposed when I got it all set up. No biggie, it works fine. But, I plan to take it down and put the sleeve in place for a more finished look.
I guess I should have called their phone number for clarification, but….
his is a very good product for people who need some form of grab bar and they don’t have a place to attach to a wall. I do have one complaint the the white slip cover doesn’t cover all the metal with high ceilings and they say you have to buy another which I don’t think is right since they know it goes to 10 ft which is why I will give it a 4 star.
Good and very reliable tool for safety of seniors and kids, worth to buy. Beware of installation space as the upper part is H shape.
We have other ones in the living room, and in the bathroom.
She is so grateful to whoever invented it! I recommend this product!
pole is very sturdy and fit in small tight space perfectly also the swivel curved handle allows for different directions to hold onto from toilet to shower – grea
This product arrived quickly! I found it quite easy to install. Threw my weight against it once installed and it didn’t budge. This made me confident my dad could use this product safely, and indeed he has. My dad loves the handles. I love that these poles can be moved anywhere. No hardware required! Worth what we paid for!! Thank you!
I’m not sure how others rate this high. Ours moved all over so very unsafe, which is the point of owning this.
The product was exactly what I needed. Very easy to install. Good quality produc
This pole is versatile, easy to install, well made, and very sturdy.
This product worked perfectly for our family member. Only thing we did was to make sure it was completely secure was to screw it in to be more permanent and stationary as to make our family member feel more secure about using it.
It is a little pricey, but the quality of the product is good. Got this for my 91 year old mother who lives on her own in an apartment. The apartment would not install grab bars ( I assume it was a liability issue, as it would have to be anchored to a wall stud) so this product was recommended. It is great, the adjustable swivel handles are easy to use. This bar can be moved if need be so it gives you versatility aIn any location.
The perfect solution for helping my wife get out of bed. Worth every penny.
Hand rail rotates all around the pole, locking in place
