Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe transfer bar definitely helped me transfer into and out the shower which has barrier that I need to step up and over in a tight space. Being able to adjust the angle of hand holds also helped.

This is an excellent support accessory that works in all configurations. WARNING!!
Pole does NOT ADJUST TO LOWER THAN 8
Feet!!. Web page says that it will but this is false. If ceiling height is lower than 8 fr. IT WILL NOT WORK!

The security bar /stand was purchased to provide safety when entering and exiting a soaker tub for an ill male senior. Due to its durability and ease of installation the bar will remain in place for grandchildren and adults who use the tub in the future.

The unit is heavy but with the help of a couple of neighbours, it was assembled and installed in less than 20 minutes. There isn’t a need to anchor it into the floor as the top butts quite firmly against the ceiling. I am able to rise up and down from the throne without fear of falling over, or tripping over my wheelie which was my previous medical assistance device. It is also building upper body muscles, which is a wonderful thing. I highly recommend this product.

I would have given 5 stars on every category but the instructions weren’t as clear as I would have liked. I finally got it put together and mounted in my elderly, recent back surgery, mother’s room. WOW! I didn’t use the mounting screws as it’s extremely sturdy, I hung on it before letting her use it. This is by FAR the best safety device/bar I’ve purchased. This includes having safety bars installed in her bathtub. I found a ‘used’ safety pole and saved about $45.00. No defects or missing pieces. If you have a loved one who needs safety bars, RUN to purchase this one. I read customer reviews for most of my purchases on Amazon. I also write, positive or negative, reviews to help others make informed decisions. You will not regret this purchase. Very stable and sturdy and after (finally) figuring out how to install, it’s easy to install. I put this pole next to her bed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIf your ceiling is 8 feet tall, you’ll use ALL the pieces of pole that are included. (I put this together by myself, after watching the video a couple times, and clearing an upright space where the pole could lean while I added the various pieces. Called Stander with my questions. FIRST, confirm with your brain, which way the bar in the round base is facing, and how it will line up with the bottom piece of bottom pole, when it’s done, as, by yourself, will be hard to look at bottom, at same time trying to hold the whole thing sort of half upright. The smaller piece of pole FIRST attaches to the ceiling brace, and most of the height of that piece will disappear into the piece of pipe that has all the threads at the bottom end. (There MIGHT be a tiny pole piece that’s supposed to end up looking like a sleeve, to cover a couple inches of threads, but I forgot to put that sleeve on, so, rather than take it all apart, I’m just putting black electrical tape over the minimal amount of silver threads that are showing, or tie a scarf around that part, etc.) THEN slip those bottom thread of that pole, into the top of the pole that has the grab bars. THEN, put onto the circular base, and use the wrench to adjust to your ceiling height.) If less than 8 feet tall, and picture isn’t clear to you, maybe confirm procedure of your exact height, with Stander, BEFORE you start, and digest your big picture before having to brace the pole up while you’re on the phone with them. Their customer service is VERY helpful. I LOVE this pole.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product is so easy to install, no tools, hardware, or drilling. It is supported by tension between the ceiling and floor. We have 10′ ceilings and it’s tall enough. My elderly mother-in-law couldn’t live without it. We bought one for the bathroom, and she has used it for a year or two. It’s very sturdy and secure. She now needs more assistance getting in and out of bed and using the bedside commode, and this gives her that extra support. It’s also easy to move when you need to.

I live alone now, in a two-storey home, and have extremely limited mobility. Getting up the stairs has been a challenge, but there are good railings in place. The problem has been the last step up from the stairs to the floor–no railing, and no way to add one.

I got this, and my brother-in-law installed it for me in minutes. It’s made a gigantic difference. When I get up to the scary final stair step, I can grab hold of one of the curve grab bars, and it makes me safe, and secure, getting up the rest of the way.

    Best purchase of the year!!!

This product was an answer to prayer. The PT was amazed at how beneficial this product was and wanted to share this product information with others who have mobility challenges.

This thing is a lifesaver! I had knee surgery and really didn’t want to do the raised toilet seat route or handrails on either side of the toilet, they all seemed flimsy and it would be one more thing I’d have to clean. This pole is EASY to install, less than 5 minutes. I took the very good advise of another reviewer and made sure the area of the ceiling was level, which is tricky in our house because it’s 120 years old, almost nothing is level and the toilets are very low! I’m 5.8ft and 58 years old, and with one hand on the pole can lower myself or pull myself up very easily. It holds all of my 190lbs and doesn’t budge. We positioned it in between the tub and the toilet which has the added bonus of giving me something to hold on to getting in and out of the shower. When I don’t need it anymore my plan is to take it down, put it away and when I need hip replacement in a few years get it out again! Definitely recommend this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased this pole on the advice of the physical therapist for my father-in-law who had a stroke 2 months ago. It is sturdy, stable and was fairly easy to install. The grab bars can rotate which is a plus because it can get in the way while attending to the patient in bed. While one person could install this, I would suggest that this is a two person job. Once you get it up, have one person hold the pole and the other person step back and make sure it is straight before you tighten the tension pole.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have 2 of this model. I have hip and knee replacements. Thru the many surgeries, this has helped me get out of bed unaided, steadied me while dressing, standing reaching. No, it’s not un-noticeable , but you can kind of pole dance! The adjustable hand grips are a big help. Just moved, took both down, zero marks on ceiling. Recently I fell, just before my last knee surgery. You know what that means. Help I’ve fallen, etc, well this time I skootched over to me pole. Reached up and it was a mighty effort, but quick pressure on restored knee grabbed the grips and voil! Eureka! No ADT or call to family, and you folks out there who have problems, you know how those calls go!

I purchased this to help me getting in and out of my walk-in bath which has a belt seat. It is superb and gives me all the help I need, with the grab bar easy to position exactly where I want it. Assembly instructions were easy to understand and follow and I had it unpacked and set up within 30 minutes of arrival. I laid it flat on the floor in my living room to assemble and then moved it to my bathroom, where I tied it to the radiator to support it , whilst adjusting the height. I am nearly 80 and only 5 feet tall!
Just a word of warning, it is very heavy, so it might be safer to have a young or strong person to set it up, to avoid any mishap. It is a very sturdy, well-made product that even came with a spanner to adjust the height. The ceiling support has excellent pads to protect your decor and is very stable in position. A further advantage is that i could be moved to a different location without any damage to floor or ceiling.

My father’s lower body strength had reduced. It was very difficult for him to get up. This pole solved the problem. It is very easy to setup. It is very sturdy. I doubted it’s strength at first but it doesn’t move at all when I tested it myself and I weigh 205 pounds. I typically don’t write reviews. But I felt I needed to let people know how much this can help them.

I needed to get a device that wouldn’t require permanent installation, as I needed it on a temporary basis, but would provide support to someone that had a stroke and had use of his left side only. This device works really well. I have it in the shower area and it works better than grab bars, to be honest. The handle swivels so I can move it where needed or move it out of the way. I would have liked to order another one but since I only need it temporarily i couldn’t justify the additional cost.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe pole allows my husband to remain independent with his toilet transfers (he has Parkinson’s Disease).
I probably could have just gone with an elevated toilet seat with handles for about $75, but I want him to remain used to getting up from 17″-18″ toilet seats, so he can negotiate commodes when we are away from home.
I placed Security Pole between the toilet and shower stall, so It also provides some extra stability as he steps out of the shower.
Then, once I got it set up, we practiced together while we figured out the best pole placement, and also for him to practice to find his best hand placement.
Even without using the included screws the pole seems sturdy enough (according to the directions the screws are optional).
Surprisingly, this was not too hard to install by myself (I’m 5’2″ and pretty handy). But it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have an extra pair of hands (and extra brain), especially when tweaking the pole placement, and reading the directions.
I thought the directions were fairly easy to follow for the most part, although they are mostly diagrams with only short sentences for each step.
However, I did get a little confused about the ceiling height part of the instructions, which seem to say to remove part B if ceiling height is 7 foot, because most ceilings aren’t going to be exactly 7 or 8 foot (or 9 or 10) I found that confusing. In retrospect, I assume that means you only have to remove Part B if the ceiling is LESS than 7 foot. I was so focused on that part of the instructions that I accidentally removed the plastic sleeve instead (which was not labeled in the diagram). So that left the threads exposed when I got it all set up. No biggie, it works fine. But, I plan to take it down and put the sleeve in place for a more finished look.
I guess I should have called their phone number for clarification, but….

Shipped quickly, seems sturdy, keeps my husband safe & independent.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product delivers on every claim. Its strong and versitile . We were able to position it to use getting in and out of the shower and by swinging the arm it is perfict for a toilet grab bar. We purchased this for a 95 year old great great grandma but I had the pleasure if testing it out while cleaning the shower. My shoe slipped on the tile floor I made the grab for the bar and stopped myself from falling down. The bar held firm with out moving.

his is a very good product for people who need some form of grab bar and they don’t have a place to attach to a wall. I do have one complaint the the white slip cover doesn’t cover all the metal with high ceilings and they say you have to buy another which I don’t think is right since they know it goes to 10 ft which is why I will give it a 4 star.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy disability makes it very difficult to get in and out of bed. My son suggested the pole because it does not need to be installed permanently but can easily be taken down when needed somewhere else. For example, when he took me along to his cottage for a few days, he took it down in my bedroom and installed it in his cottage. It took only a few minutes, fitted easily in his car and was unbelievably sturdy. I was initially worried that the pole might not hold when I pull myself up, but it did not budge. I have been using it now for about 2 weeks and feel quite secure. I am a female senior and are not able to install it myself, however any able bodied man and woman can put it up. My son had no problem to put it up by himself. I did think it was a bit expensive but since it works well it’s worth the money.

It is a little pricey, but the quality of the product is good. Got this for my 91 year old mother who lives on her own in an apartment.
