If you have anyone that is elderly, disabled this pole is a must. The curved s gives them a handle, it moves around the pole and locks in place. We have 2 could not be without them.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had significant foot surgery last year and it involved months of being bedridden. I hadn’t accounted for the weakness that would result. I bought two of these, one for my bedside and the other for the bathroom. I don’t know how I could have done as well as I am doing if I hadn’t had these placed so I can transfer in and out of bed and the tub. Most impressive, is that they are easy to move and relocate, or remove and store when I no longer need them. I especially like the bends and the ability to move them around easily, while maintaining stability. I admit to being skeptical that this would work without bolting it to the floor and ceiling, but they haven’t slipped a millimeter. I’m so afraid of falling that the slightest movement would have freaked me out. If you or a loved one can benefit from arm up, these security poles can provide a lot of help with stability and mobility.

The security pole is very helpful for my husband when getting in and out of bed. I don’t think it is as secure as it should be because we have 7.5 ft. ceilings. The extension insert doesn’t fit for 7.5 ft. ceilings so there isn’t very much overlap in the pole without the extension. We need to keep a close watch that it is secure when he uses it and frequently tighten it up.

Where have you been all my life? This bar is so cool. I have had issues with getting in and out of the bathtub for a long time. I find showers to be OK but there are times when I need a good soak. With my disabilities it can be very difficult to get out of the tub. It has taken me up to 25 minutes to get myself out of the tub before finding this solution. Not great for pole dancingBut great for getting in and out of the bathtub.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersJust installed it. This “pole” weighs about 40 lbs. Be very careful when installing it, as it has loose sleeves and some very heavy pieces which can injure you if they slip or flop outward. Since it must be 8 ft+ just prior to assembly and most bathrooms don’t have that long a floor space, it must be assembled either outside the bathroom or on top of sinks, tubs, etc. You have a very strong chance of badly pinching your fingers. Then, you must use a 2″ monster wrench (supplied) to tighten it between ceiling and floor, while holding it with your 3rd hand and holding the level against it on 2 sides while tightening it.
My sister-in-law and I got it done without a 3rd person, and it is SOLID!
I did not expect such a massive construction just to keep my poor wife from falling into the tub again, but, boy, do I appreciate its overkill.
***** for the finished product, even though it has a sliding cover for the threads halfway up. This doesn’t seem too good, but I won’t downgrade it for that.
*** for the really poor and confusing installation instructions with tiny illustrations. Work on these, you manufacturers. Raise them to the quality of your product. People will be endangered trying to hold these pieces together while attempting to read the instructions.
Should you buy this product? Yes. It is solid and very helpful.

I was a bit worried about how this would go for my mom.

I installed it without having to use the securing bolts into the ceiling. The pressure alone was enough. I’m about 270 and was able to put my full weight against this thing and it didn’t budge, bend, or show signs of giving out.

Put my foot against the base and put my full weight against this and did a full row to get myself off the ground. Still didn’t move, bend, or give me any sign it may fail for my mom.

This transfer pole is easy to install, sturdy, and ridiculously helpful for transferring into and out of bed. It is also great for getting into and out of chairs. We installed three of them in various places after a relative was injured and they made an enormous difference in the rehab process. These are held in place with tension, no screws or nails go into the floor or ceiling. Ours did not leave a mark when removed. It is sturdy enough for a 220 pound man to hang off the side of and wiggle back and forth with no movement. It is much sturdier than I would have imagined possible.

his is an excellent product. The materials are of very good quality. It is relatively heavy so you know the metal is good and strong. The instructions were good – I had the unit installed in about 15 minutes. I read the reviews and understood that it was secure/strong but once I had it installed I was surprised just at how strong and supportive it is. I installed it for my aging father and he quickly got the hang of it and is using it regularly to help him get out of his recliner. super great produc

We have two of these transfer poles. Our first is in a small bathroom to help with toileting and bathing. It gives stability when pulling pants up and down. The second is in the bedroom. It enables the patient to stand while pivoting onto the bed and the rotating handle helps with positioning when lying down.

We have 2 of these. One mounted by my husbands bed and one by his lift chair. He is a large man 6 Ft. tall and weighs 220 lbs. He uses it to pull up out of Electric Wheel Chair and makes it so much easier on him since he doesn’t have the use of his left side. It is very safe and doesn’t damage or require holes to the drilled into floor or ceiling. So far it hasn’t caused any damage to our vinyl floor or ceilings.

I was so thankful to find this and even more thankful that it has worked out for me. I only have one bathroom in my 102 year old home and I have a cast iron claw foot tub. After knee replacement I needed to get in and out of my tub. I still needed an assist from my daughter but this pole gave us extra support and as I have healed and need less help allows me to safely and cautiously maneuver in and out of my tub. The locking and swiveling hand hold is terrific! I did need some assistance with assembly and installation but it was not difficult for the person who helped out with that!

Caring by myself for husband with dementia has gotten progressively more difficult as his motor skills have declined. Getting out of bed in the morning so that I can put him in a transport chair could take 15/20 minutes. Now that I have installed this security pole he sits on the edge of the bed and pulls himself right up. At night I can roll his transport chair to the security pole and he can grab it and lower himself onto the bed. He no longer has to go through the contortions of putting his hands on the bed and awkwardly finding his place in the bed. Luckily his upper body strength is all there. I am very grateful for this product.

Feel solid enough on a 9′ ceiling. At 180 lbs a hung off of it to test for my 125 lb wife and there was no slipping. Two things though:

If you extend beyond 8′ you will see gray steel up high, vs the solid white in all of the photos. They could, and should include a plastic cover for this.

At 9′ there is a bit of jiggle up high. Still feels solid, but I made sure to get the level out and make sure the pole was vertical. Not sure how I would feel about 10′, but perhaps just fine.

In the end, it gets the job done on a 9′ rise for a 125 lb person and we are keeping it.

I rarely have time to write reviews since I caretake my husband and that alone is soooo time consuming in addition to all of life’s other obligations. This pressure fit stability pole is an absolute game changer in our home! Using it in the bathroom but will probably get a second one for other spots in the house -huge thank you to everyone involved in adding this to my home. Thank you the the inventor, the manufacturer, to Amazon for carrying it and to the shipping folks who delivered it to my doorstep.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy mother-in-law, Candy, calls me one day and asks, “Hey, my favorite son-in-law. I’m thinking of getting into a new profession and would like you to order me two of these poles.” After a few minutes, I comprehended what she actually said which was, “I hate to bother you, but as you know I’m having knee surgery in a week and was wondering if you could order two poles for me to assist in getting in and out of my recliner and bed. It would be great if you could install them as well. Love you.” So I did what any good son-in-law would do and researched these suckers on Amazon and ordered two of them. They arrived quickly. Installation was very simple and quick as the instructions were very clear. It is really as easy as 1) Installing the base to the bottom pole, 2) Connecting the upper and lower pole pieces, 3) Installing the top brace to the upper pole, 4) Raising the assembled pole to the ceiling, 5) Using the wrench (included) to adjust the pole length so that it was firmly connected between the ceiling and the floor. The curved handle can be rotated and is fully adjustable so you don’t have to necessarily worry about making sure the pole is assembled in the right position to be able to grip it. High quality. Definitely recommended. Screws are provided for the floor plate if you so desire to mount it in a more permanent fashion, but after installation, I twirled around these poles a few times and they didn’t budge one bit. My mother-in-law was very grateful for these two items and even tipped me a few singles in my waistband (that tipping part didn’t really happen, but she promised me homemade chocolate chip cookies once she was on the mend).

Just received and installed today. My late 70s mom had been stepping into a corner shower that was much too high for her. I added a blow-molded anti-skid low step outside the shower door and installed this pole beside it. Great combination.

Highly recommend using the extension if your ceiling height allows for it. That extension adds a little extra rigidity to the pole. You’ll feel the difference when you grab the handle and push-pull on it. Once installed securely it worked great. I did not feel the need to use the additional screws.

The swing mechanism works smoothly and it wasy easy for her to operate. She’s super happy with how much safer this feels for her now.

For the severely physically disabled, there is no comparison in having a support midway between transition points, and yet, how is one to suspend a support in-between point A and point B? This product. My daughter has one to transition from her wheelchair to the bed and another to transition from wheelchair to toilet, there is nothing that can compare with this product (the only possibility are those huge swing out bars that will clobber one over the head or simply be in the way once fully extended from the wall).

Works great! The shower floor to ceiling height was only 6′ 10″ but the pole fit OK in spite of the instructions saying it required a minimum floor to ceiling height of 7′.. Very helpful for a person with bad hips taking a shower. Easier to install than a grab bar on the wall that would have required drilling through thick tile, and works better right in front of her than a grab bar would. I definitely would buy it again. Very sturdy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersInstalled bar at shower door for stability’ and safety in transfer of family member to get to shower from bar on wall to ease my aging back from bearing her weight. Instructions good- family member weight of 105 lbs and 5’2 height special needs. I have a shower chair yet to be delivered that has a chair mounted on a tract – so she can just sit down at the shower entry and i lift her feet and weight of her sitting will glide into shower. Both were pricy but any of us as we age could use them. Cheaper than fall or disc injury! I didn’t secure bar to the floor as it was tight fit- 8 foot ceiling to linoleum floor. She is small but will see if need to secure- she isn’t pulling on it — bar stabilizes and gives a sense of security to her. CAUTION: as put bars together they can pinch your finger so beware-
Also couple of parts were not on instructions nor included on the diagram! I called the customer service and clear prompt directed me to customer service and talked to a live person who answered pleasantly, identified herself , could be understood, included name of the company. I had my directions in front of me so when she helped me I could understand the numbered items where she was guiding me.
The unnamed parts were 4 plastic halved, grooved inserts and white plastic hollow cylinder. The plastic halves fit together and have thick end and thin end . Match those one above grab and one below watching direction . We put thicker end facing the ceiling and lower 2 thicker end toward the floor.
There is a white non numbered plastic sleeve that fits OVER POLE #2. It easily slides up as tighten threads and then drops over exposed threads. The plastic halves will advance into poles as tighten nut #8 with included wrench. VERY well made and I chose it because the pull pin will allow the curved bar to be multidirectional! Great feature and a deciding factor as it was more expensive, but SO helpful for us!
Amazon delivered and I recognized immediately from gray duct tape and added clear tape it was a return that I got- the poles were loose and small scratch on one pole but small. Fortunately the return box had all item parts included in a hefty ziplock bag as well as directions. Thus the 4 star was for poor return repackaging and for parts included but not explained. Overall, thankful for the assistance the bar will be!

This is a great product – however – it does not work at all heights between 7 and 11 feet. We installed this where we had a ceiling height that just would not work – the instructions say not to use the extender beyond 10 inches and we had to have it out just over 11 inches to fit the space, making the pole unstable. We ended up having to cut the metal and modify the height in order to use it. Otherwise, this is a great invention – just know that there seem to be two very specific heights between 7 and 11 feet where this doesn’t quite work.

I have trouble getting up from chairs or the floor and need something reliable to hold onto when I do my therapy exercises for MS. This is a stylish utility pole and very useful in times of need. It is a tension pole, but it can be fastened to the ceiling, and I do have one attached to Livingroom ceiling because I felt the carpeting caused it to wiggle and I didn’t trust the tension with my weight. I also have two that are NOT attached to ceilings in bathroom and bedroom. They are stable and reliable as tension poles.

It was easy to install on a 8 to 9 foot ceiling. The rubber pads keep it from slipping on the floor or ceiling. It made getting into and out of the bed and onto a wheelchair a lot easier.

We were a bit nervous to put so much money into this pole but the reviews convinced us to give it a try. This is a perfect mobility aid. Installed it next to my 79 year old mother’s bed to help her get in and out. She loves it! It has made a huge difference. It is very stable; it doesn’t move.

    Highly recommend this.

My son installed this for his dad, and it is an excellent aid in a shower or outside of the bathtub. The handle can be moved to several positions, so you can put it where you need it most at any given time. Absolutely a great, safety product, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Almost a one-person install, if I were taller I wouldn’t have needed to enlist a helper to connect the top half and the bottom half. The included flat wrench was a little uncomfortable but easily did the job. We are both heavy and this is solid and strong when we grab it.

As a person with limited abilities I’ve found greater confidence when transferring from one place to another, thus minimizing the risk of falls It can simply be installed using the rubber portion that securely holds the pole into place temporarily or installed permanently with screws on the top and bottom. It has two handles that rotate to where they are most helpful.

My Dad is 91 and remains living at home but needs assistance getting up from a sitting position and extra stability while standing to get dressed and out from shower. I purchased one to assist getting out of bed, then three additional, one for toilet, one for dressing chair and one for outside shower door. Best product out there. Thank you and congratulations to the family who designed this for their Grandma. I never review products but this is a life saver and I want to share with others in this situation, like me and my Dad.

Got this so my 90 year old mother-in-law would have something to hold on to while she showers. Installation in our walk-in, tiled shower was easy. Very sturdy. Gives us peace of mind and helps maintain her independence without drilling into the wall to install a grab bar.

My mom current has use of only one arm. I looked for something to help her get out of her chair on her own because it was dIfficult for her and my dad to do together. This unit totally has changed her life. She is able to get up on her own AND co trol the handle bar with one hand when she wants to turn the bar if it’s in her view or for another position to grab onto.

Tip: unless you have a curling lower than 8 ft, assemble the entire unit as shown. I’m a visual person and the instructions were worded correctly but the illustrations were poor to non existent. I ended up disturbing out the assemble by looking at the outside of the box. So the tip is to alswasy assemble with the extension piece u less your under 8 ft in ceiling height.

I can’t recommend this enough to those that need it.

Fits in shower nicely. Secure to the ceiling and the floor just by tension. Offers a great extra helping hand when getting in and out of the shower… Only difficult part was installing trying to hold it in place while getting it tight to the ceiling was a little tricky.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI fitted this on my own and it was fairly straight forward but it is quite heavy so assistance could be required. It is solid and secure once fitted. I had to cut away some of the side panel of our old fashioned bath as I needed to get the base plate close to the bath tub. Do a test run before you screw the round base plate into the floor. The pole has only a slot at the bottom which fits over a metal bar in the base plate so can’t be rotated after the base plate is secured. I didn’t do a test run and by the time I assembled everything and tried to rotate the top to line up straight, I couldn’t because there was only one hole for the top kingpin and it placed the top bar diagonally whilst the baseplate screw holes were straight across. I had to take it all down and screw the base plate in again with the holes at the same diagonal. All good though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSturday!! Easy to install – with extension for varying ceiling heights. The B-shaped handle is ideal for grabbing at most angles. Its position can be easily changed to adapt to your personal needs. Easy to clean. Can be moved to another location – or get two!! Very helpful!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersInstalled easily and we screwed it in once we decided where it would go for extra stability. But we do have a question about the rotation. It is easy to move by pulling the knob out and rotating. But after the knob finds its position, there is still more rotation on the grab handles than we would have expected. Now we are not sure that it is working right due to this rotation. I don’t know how to ask this as a question, so maybe the manufacturer will comment.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersInstalled easily enough. Carpeted floor next to my dad’s bed so he could transfer to and from his wheelchair. My only complaint is, after a few years of use, the pole started flexing at its weakest point in the middle. This caused it to lose tension between the floor and ceiling and come down a couple times. I had to really wrench down on the tension nut to make sure it wouldn’t slip anymore. So the lower the ceiling, the better, as there won’t be as much leverage exerted in the middle of the pole. Also, make sure you’re utilizing the part of the pole that’s used to extend it to the preferred height before you use the tension nut to fill out the slack. That will help with any possible flexing.

Easy to install, installed for my husband who is 90 and needs help getting in and out of the shower. The tension rod is more secure than what I thought it would be. I wanted to try it before screwing in and it holds well. The double grip is genius, wide enough to feel secure and allow him to grip with arthritis hands. It’s worth every penny!!!

Even though it seems pricey this has been worth it’s weight in GOLD. So sturdy and can be put literally ANYWHERE. looks nice in the room and is SUCH a boon to my dad’s confidence. We put this one next to his bed so he can get out and in bed by himself. We will probably get another for the bathroom next to the toilet. Very happy with this purchase. Super easy to put together.

My 93 year old, wheelchair-bound mom owns five of these security poles that she uses during transfers. (1) for the commode, (1) for the bed, (1) for the easy chair, (2) for the shower. These poles are sturdy and provide much-needed support for my mom when transferring from her wheelchair. At first, I thought they were pricey but after I saw the safety they provide and calculated the consequences of a possible fall, the cost factor was marginal. Also, factor in that because this product is so well built and has nothing to wear out, it can be sold on Craig’s List when you’re done with it, probably for half of what you paid for it. We started by buying one then added four more. Hard to provide a better recommendation than that!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTHIS IS A LIFE saver/changer for my 87yr father getting up from toilet and getting him in and out of a shower/tub, that was not designed for 4’9″ , 87yr old man. I gave it only 4 stars on installation because getting the top of the T bar to stay straight against ceiling, was a little difficult for 5’2 gal. To get it in a position for both the toilet and shower set up, I had to maneuver the top T bar at an awkward angle. Otherwise 1 person can set this up easily. The toggle nut (?) in center is easily adjusted with the supplied wrench like tool.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersMy husband is in a power chair due to progressive MS. His transfers from chair to bed and from chair to recliner have been nothing but night mares. We were on a first name basis with the EMT’s . We began working with a new occupational therapist who talked about “stripper poles”, but they had to be installed into joists. NOT happy with that recommendation I started searching and found these. Thought I’d try one to see what they were about.
They require no installation skills, just a level and the wrench provided. Pieces slide together easily. Just needed someone to hold it in place and level while I used the wrench to tighten. Had it one day and immediately ordered another. These poles (because they are “stripper poles” ) have been named Bambi and Tina Turner. They are amazing. He can use them to pull his full weight out of the power chair, turn the handle bar, and seat himself on either the bed or in his recliner. The do not move. They have saved many calls to 911, as well as my nerves, blood pressure and back. We have become the answer people for poles. They are the BEST
