Although they are comfortable the lack of 7.1 surround sound is an issue when gaming especially for games such as rust, for casual gaming these would be great, if for competitive make sure you get 7.1 surround sound
Good quality wireless headset which can be used with a number of devices. Microphone is detachable which is useful if you already use a separate mic. & it comes with a variety of connectors so you can charge & play. Build quality feels solid & sound is also very good.
I say good but not amazing yet still give 5 starts to this headset, it’s pretty simple why, it’s a great starting wireless headset. It has some pretty nice features, all require additional software, like virtual 7.1 sound, chat and game balance ect. It had a decent battery life, and the connector is great being USB C allowing you to connect it to a huge amount of devices, I have tested this with my android phone (S22 Ultra), PS5, Nintendo switch and finally the computer of course which was the reason I bought them. But one thing that confused me and seemed pointless but also that I didn’t like, the charging, the port is a mini USB for charging, which I hate, for now its fine, but I know how quickly these cables and ports become loose and break, and having a USB C connecter I don’t see why they didn’t have USB C charging as its a more standard connection now.
The Microphone leaves a bit to be desired, it’s basic, it works and it’s detachable, but sound quality is simply Okay, and to say its flexible is great but it doesn’t stay where you put it, it bounces back, which lead to me having to increece the gain on it so that I wasn’t shouting when using it.
All in all though, they are comfy, have a decent range (although would have liked bluetooth bit as it’s got a C adaptor this compensates pretty well), sound pretty good, And for the price it’s not bad, If the price is your budget they are worth it, however I think I would probably go for a slightly higher costing one next time to get a better sounding microphone, USB C charging, integrated Bluetooth and maybe a bigger battery, but for a beginner wireless headset it’s grea
Bought this to replace the headset work provided me. Already have the arctis for PlayStation 5 so thought why not get something I already like. The quality is great really like the fabric eat cups as they don’t get sweaty like the pu leather ones. Battery life is great get over a week of teams calls and listing to Spotify.
Use them on the PS5 when the other headset died of battery and have to say there is a noticeable difference between the arctis 7 quality and these.
For the money a great wireless headset which works great and has fantastic range.
Super comfortable on your ears and head extremely good sound quality best headset you could probably buy without dropping a lot more money definitely worth highly recommend
So this headset is great, great sound, and mic is very responsive.
However the downfalls are the charging port is not type C USB although the dongle connector is strange…. The USB dongle that is supplied is very flimsy and can see this potentially being lost/broken at some point especially if you have younger children this wont last long. It would have been much better to supply an extra dongle.-
I have used this headset for over a year now and I can truly say this is the best purchase I have made for the price. They are reasonably cheap and work well.
The quality and build quality of the headset is perfect and I have had no issues with this.
The sound quality can be changed in the software that SteelSeries have to suit you.
I use this headset for gaming and for music and chatting with friends.
Would highly recommend this headset to anyone that is curious
The mic is really bad but this headset is USB-C so I can use it on my phone. This headset is sleek so I can bring it into the gym and listen to music. The mic is really bad
It does get really uncomfortable and hurt my ears after an hour or so of use.
If comfort is your #1 priority, get the Razer Nari Essential, the mic is better and it is extremely comfortable.
I can’t falt this headset at all. Really good. But I dropped it at not even waist hight and I’m small like 5,7″ small and my left headphone no longer works. Which is a shame because this headset is expensive and I don’t feel like it’s worth the money to get a new one if it breaks form a little fall
Straight out of the box into the computer no need to tweak any settings for gaming, overall quality is great. Sound quality is crisp and mic sounds grea
They do work wired and wireless with a USB-C dongle.
The sound quality is great, the option to adjust the volume chat/game is great.
Software is a bit rubbish but the beta equaliser is great thing. I’ve played COD, Borderlands 3 and Tomb Raider and other games and the spatial sound was grea
These headphones are amazing. My friend had recommended this to me. So glad they told me about these, Sound quality is great in general and for gaming. Not a waste of money, will definitely recommend this to people who are looking for good headphones.
Now, I have been using the arctis 1s for a while now and I must say that from my experience, this is one of the best budget gaming headsets, sound and comfort are excellent, even if the build quality is not the best. And now for the 2 minor cons, cable is quite short, and there is no cable splitter included, but this is to be expected as it is a headset made for console’s
These headphones are amazing. I use them for work, where the switch to cut off the mic is super convenient and the mic quality is great, or so I’m told. The amazing audio quality is also great for gaming and music. Getting this was an excellent bit of consumerism.
Bought these for my son. He absolutely raves about them. Nice and comfortable to wear, Very light ,expandable band ,clear sound quality foldable mic. What’s not to like ?
Confortable and decent headset. This is not the best sound or mic quality I ever had but it’s quite good. And I never realised how much I needed wireless headphones!
Amazing sound quality, incredible wireless range (I can use from 2 stories below with zero problems), amazing software that comes with it, EQ customisation, customisable sidetone (being able to hear yourself), mixing of chat (Discord) and game sounds meaning you can tune in to one channel more than another. Just all-round best headset I’ve used. Quality is on par with my studio quality pair of Sony’s and the range is better than my Sony MX3s. Just incredible, absolutely outstanding
Good sound, good noise cancellation. Sometimes I get a buzzing noise which I don’t know why, maybe it’s a wire problem . But overall very good and comfortable headphones
Plastic feels a little cheap and software is still in beta, but they’re super comfy and have great sound in my opinion. I like that I can use them with nearly all my devices and the surround sound works really well with my PS5 and with Halo Infinite on PC.
The dongle that came with the earphones was not the same one featured in the instructions and was not synced as indicated which took time to set up. Apart from this, the sound was excellent and very easy to use with its own volume control. Interference is almost eliminated making the earphones very personal.
Went through a number of cheaper options including two Xbox wireless headsets (painfully tight and had a buzzing noise in both on Xbox SX), in ear ear buds (too uncomfortable and buzzed on SX), Apple wired earbuds (buzzing and mic wouldn’t work on SX if I remember correctly) and got fed up.
Decided to spend too much (160), but these are excellent. Brilliant sound and mic quality, no buzzing on wired or wireless on SX. Work with my IPad perfectly for pubg mobile, wired and wireless. Completely comfortable (although every so often they hurt my left ear if they’re in a certain position Edit: they no longer hurt at all a couple of months later).
There’s no sound cancellation (it does block out background sound a little), but I see that as a positive because I couldn’t get used to not being able to hear my own voice when talking online with sound cancellation sets.
Great for gaming, but not great for listening to music. The sound quality is good but the bass does not go very low, no presence below 50hz. So for music not very good. But for gaming i find them very good for long duration gaming the do not fatigue your ears which is probably a possitive about the bass not being so strong. Mic seems good. Not had any complaints from friend, and the mute button is very useful for blocking sneezes etc. Range is reasonable and battery life is very good. Overall very happy with them
Great: Syncs with Series X effortlessly, Syncs with PC effortlessly (with Microsoft Dongle & Bluetooth), Really comfy even during long gaming sessions, The sound is great (way better than the official Microsoft headset), Great for knowing what direction an enemy is coming from, Pull out microphone is really useful when just playing SP games, being able to tune your mic monitoring through the headset is great. Also these look nice, not to gamer(y) so you won’t look like a nerd wearing on public transport etc.
Neutral: Can edit equaliser settings, though it has to be done through the PC app.
Bad: Sometimes pics up my breathing, even when mic isn’t close to mouth. Having to plug into PC and modifying equaliser with Steelseries Engine, Micro-USB.
Blown away by how amazing these headphones are!
Incredible sound, super easy and fast to connect and really comfortable.
Really love the detachable microphone, as I very seldom use a mic, it’s so nice to detach it and have proper gaming headphones with no mic sticking out – makes them great to use for music on my phone too, without looking out of place.
It should be noted, the cups are thinner than most, so you’re ears do touch the inner lining, but it seems to be designed that way, and is not uncomfortable at all.
Gaming sound quality on my PS4 and Nintendo Switch is utterly amazing, couldn’t be more pleased.
Pleasantly surprised at how good the music quality is too when connected to my phone.
Here is a list of headsets I have gone through before finding these and loving them.
Logitech G Pro X Wireless
Hyper X Cloud 2
Steel Series Arctris Pro and dac (wired)
After using all these headsets I always found something that I didn’t like from the sound to the comfort.
This headset for me has everything, the sound quality in game is very nice and seems very balanced.
This headset also comes with a USB C charging port and beta access to Sonar which is the new EQ software which is very good in my opinion although it can bug out sometimes.
If you are looking for a headset I would suggest trying out this one.
Positives
– Sound quality is very good
– Very comfy compared to others I’ve tried
– Sonar software is very good (comes with the headset and works with the Arctis Engine)
– Better wireless length then others (I can go in the kitchen and still hear)
– I don’t charge this headset as much as I did the g pro x wireless which is nice
– USB C Charging port
Cons
– The Mic doesn’t sound the best but it’s passable (I don’t use the mic anyway)
– Sonar software at first was buggy but it seems to have settled down for me
I admit these are not exactly ‘cheap’ headphones, but I wanted a set of headphones that I could use on my XBOX as well as PC, and to be honest, 99% PC use is how it is.
Previously I owned a pair of TB Stealth 600’s which were good but unfortunately decided one day to just not power on ever again, and so thinking the Stealth 700’s would be a good upgrade, I got those – but they were too ‘tight’ on the head if that makes sense!
This review is about 3 months after purchase, so it’s given a bit of time to get used to them.
I went with these along with a Microsoft Windows dongle so I can bluetooth it to the PC, and have been impressed ever since! I haven’t tinkered with any settings, just tend to use it for COD:MW online custom games with friends, and the sound is fantastic, I keep looking over my shoulder to see if my partner is in the room, as the sounds just come from all angles!
Battery life has been fine, stability fine, I can’t say I use these constantly, they are used 2 or 3 times a week for a couple of hours at a time, but they have been solid.
Brilliant headset, so comfy on your head and doesnt give you sore ears like some headsets after prolonged use. The mic pulls out of the cup sort of like a wheel based mechanism which is just so cool. And the mic glows red when muted so you are aware, which is also pretty cool
The sound is that sharp I have had a few hacking accusations due to hearing one faint footstep, suddenly turning round and chasing the kill (honest!) Worth it.
The only 2 complaints I have however – The main one is if there is too much wifi interference your headset will keep connecting and disconnecting which is really frustrating.
Example being visiting my parents and my room has the house CCTV in, as well as my xbox, the headset kept periodically disconnecting due to all the wifi interference.
No issue in my living room however.
So not ideal if there is a lot of that or if you have a box room
2nd the volume wheels are located on the back of the headset. If you are leaning back and playing the wheel will move which can result in a nasty loud (or quiet) shock, having to re adjust the wheel mid game is also not ideal.
However after a few adaptations no problems whatsoever. Fantastic headphones for sound and comfort. Totally recommend them from a gamer myself. The bluetooth feature is also.cool as you can hook.your.phone up simultaneously and play music or take a phone call.
But yeah I’m happy
If you are looking for wireless headphones, don’t want to brake the bank, but also don’t want something that dose to your audio what a blendeder dose tasty tree baby’s. Well, this is the headset for you.
You can set up your profile on your PC and it is then saved in the headsets firmware, so once you have it how you like it, your can plug it into whatever you want, even your phone and don’t need to worry about haveing to deal with setup and config. You can even adjust the no audio sleep timeout, something most headsets don’t allow you to adjust.
Batary life is good, and will go all day on one charge with ease.
If I had to say something bad about the headset, I would say that the volume roller is in a rather silly place. Normally they are placed in the Middle back of the headset, however for whatever reason they placed it on the bottom back. This means that you can sometime kock the roller on your shoulder if you turn your head in a particular way. You will however learn to not knock it after a few days.
Just bought the headphones and tested them out today (Phone only)
Mic: Not too good but not too bad neither. Literally sounds average lol.
Pros:
– Is decent for casual use
-Great for adjustment and comfort, it stays in place.
Cons: – When you breath it can be loud/definitely noticeable, just try not to breathe heavy lol.
– Idk if this is a con but when the mic is close it becomes loud and basically inaudible (great for toxic players lmao)
– Bending the mic it felt like there was a creak idk
Headset:
Pros:
– Really comfortable, you’ll never ache wearing these
– Buttons on the side for mic options are placed greatly
Cons:
– Headset material is plastic, feels kinda cheap but not too cheap.
– Inside of the headphones is like some sort of silky material. Idk if all gaming headsets are like this but it just feels cheap lol
Audio:
Pros:
– Pretty balanced, bass is there for music
– Can hear people well through headset
Cons:
– Cant find anything, I guess if you like music with hard bass then youd find the bass 3/5
Overall: 4/5 Stars because it’s only 40 and the headset comfort is great + mic is decent. However, the headset felt kinda cheap in some parts and the mic is abit sensitive. The audio is balanced (as some people may like) but I like abit more pound to the bass although it ain’t bad so I cant complain. Maybe I’m picky but I’d pay about 30 for these not 40.
Great range, stylish look and versatile. It’s a but awkward with the detachable microphone as I know that will go missing and I had to replace the faulty dongle as it wouldn’t recognise any device but my pc. I received great customer service from both Amazon and Steel Series. If only Brexit hadn’t caused post from outside the EU to take forever.
I’ll start with the obvious, these are NOT 7.1 headphones, only 2 channel stereo. However they are the same speaker drivers that you get in all of the Arctis range (40mm 20hz-20khz) which sound amazing. Great bass tones and splendid high notes. I bought these knowing that they weren’t 7.1 but for PS5 these are perfect as the audio is onboard spatial audio. Fantastic set of phones, but if you wanted to use on switch/pc and get 7.1 then these are not for that. However purely as a Ps5 headset which is better sound accuracy than the pulse 3D these at approx 80 are a steal!
Fantastic sound quality and I really can’t hear anything from around the house when I am wearing them. The fit is very comfortable and they seem to be well made. The battery life is superb, among the best of any wireless headset I have every used.
Bought these for my 9 year old son to use with his Nintendo Switch. He loves to fact that they are wireless. Lightweight and comfortable. I would recommend.
Set up was a bit time consuming (via a PC)
Great product and works perfectly straight out of the box! Got these for my nephew and he loves them. We’ve been looking for a wireless headset for the switch for ages and this one works great. Everything comes already set up so you plug the dongle in turn them on and they work straight away. Well worth the money.
My son loves this headset. This is his first wireless set always had wired before hand he loves the fact he can move around and not knock his device on the floor . Highly recommend thus set.
These headphones are pricey but absolutely worth the money! Great sounds quality, the mic is surprisingly good too which is nice for some recordings I do for university. It comes out which is nice if you want to use these in public but be sure not to lose it! I’d prefer it slid into the headphones like the Steelseries 7 does but it works fine as is.
Be aware it does come with a dongle and they are not bluetooth. For me the dongle was part of the appeal because it means these work with my Switch, though I haven’t made a great deal of use of this. But if you don’t want a dongle then these are not the headphones for you. They’re nice and comfy. The battery life is amazing. They undersell how long it lasts. I can use these for pretty much two days solid before the battery gets low. However, they beep occasionally for about an hour before they actually die which is a little annoying. I’d rather they just beeped around half an hour before the battery goes.
All in all these are fantastic and any gripes are very minor. If these ever get broken or stolen I’ll probably replace them with a higher model for better noise cancellation.
The sound and functionality of these is great. Everything works well and they are comfortable.
I’ve tried a pair of Razer Nari Ultimate (RNU) prior to these and overall the Arctis 9x are far superior.
Stand out feature of the Arctis 9x?
Being able to connect a 2nd device via Bluetooth like your phone and use it simultaneously whilst gaming. So you can listen to music or take a phone whilst you enjoy the sound coming through from your game. The buttons work well and they are comfortable. Battery life is good too.
The ear pads could be thicker for those of us with bigger ears – although these are easily replaced, the RNU was better here and the RNU has this immersive vibration option to make things feel more intense – most of the time this was good. But RNU has a terrible microphone which made talking to people in game/party chat an extremely frustrating experience. And it’s a know problem with the RNU so stay away from them. They also have connectivity issues with regular sound distortion affecting gameplay.
After much deliberation on spending so much money on a gaming headset for the Xbox, reading and watching countless reviews the Arctis 9x proved the winner and I wasn’t disappointed. The connectivity with the Xbox is easy to set up and stable.
Sound: This is clear and well balanced. You also have 4 EQ presets you can switch between or you can go further and customise these on a computer. This is a cool feature. You have the chat mix / game volume dial, master volume dial and mute switch. The dials are a little sensitive but are ok.
It’s easy to forget how good they sound until I go back to trying my friends 200 Bose headphones or JBL’s.
Comfort: The ski band is comfortable, no sweaty ears, the ear pads are comfortable, but with my big ears I do find I’m just touching the drivers with the tips of my ears. I’d prefer a little more space around my ears but this isn’t a big issue – and I can always get replacement pads that are bigger and thicker.
If you’re willing to pay this price for a gaming headset for your Xbox One / Series S/X then get these. They win awards for a reason and that reason is they are superb.
Confession. I have owned some crap. I know what shoddy headsets sound like. This is not crap, not by any measure. I use a Rode NT+ USB mic, so I didn’t really get this for the mic quality (which is clear, but by no means amazing). It would not be fair to compare the mic with what I am used to, but I have tested, and it’s more than adequate for talking to friends and playing intense, communication focused games.
I have worn them for hours with glasses, and they are as comfortable as my last pair of studio ref headphones (AT m50x). They sound really good with music, movies, and games. They are not “audiophile” grade, but that is not a fair standard to hold a pair of 99 wireless headphones to. Valorant matches sound fantastic, and I can hear every step, shot, and special, with comfort and accuracy.
You can walk them two rooms away and they still hold the signal, great if you want to torment your League pals by taking them to the toilet with you (don’t do that. It’s gross).
Set up is ridiculous. Plug it in to a USB-C port and they just work, same with Switch, plug and play, no noticeable latency. Only draw back being these will not work with iPhone without using a cable to plug it in with the included 3.5mm jack.
The best in-class headphones you can get for under 100, utterly blown away. If you are looking for some wireless freedom and don’t want to compromise on sound, the search ends here.
My first gaming headset.
Also my first over ear headset since I was a nugget.
Not used the mic yet.
I got these because I needed a more versatile pair of headphones. I have unreasonable noisy neighbours, which is hell on my autism, so headphones became a necessity.
You can use them wired with any device, wireless with many devices, the mic can be detached, they last all day.
They really have all the things that I need.
Good sound. Good range too. When listening to stuff on my PC, I can go downstairs to the room below and I barely get any signal drop.
The downsides, after a year of use, are:
*They don’t grip my head as tightly as they used to. They slip off if I’m moving around too much. But I’m mostly sitting when I use them so that’s not a huge problem.
*The cushioning on the band is sort of unsticking a little. It won’t fall apart though. Unlike the outer coating on the leatherette material.
*The audio dial, which is extremely useful, is having a spot bother. At certain positions it doesn’t give even sound to both ears and I’m going to have to go to the manufacturer to have them repaired probably.
All in all though, if you need a gaming headset these are pretty worth the money. Unless you want to spend a teensy bit more on one of their better pairs. Look at the cost of the other sets that this company does.
I bought a 2nd pair a 18 months later so I have a spare pair while I see about getting the first pair serviced. Using a program called “VoiceMeeter” you can run 2 pairs of headphones simultaneously. You’ll need both dongles connected tho.
Had this for Christmas off my mom and dad. Use it with my pc, phone and switch. And using it between them is really easy just remove the adaptor from one device to the other without having to mess with anything on the headset.
The pc software equaliser presets help a little when you really focus but flat works ok.
Do wish they had an application for mobile that does the same so I could access my presets for when I’m playing or listening to music on my phone too.
Bought them for my boy’s new playstation 5 and what can I say? Great product for the price. The sound is fantastic and it’s just plug in and play with no setup required. I have the pro wireless and these are right up with them at this price you can’t go wrong
Great for the price and works well with the PS5 the only thing is that it’s not the most comfortable, don’t get me wrong I can wear it for long periods but I do know I’m wearing them unlike my Xbox headphones, they just a little too tight around my head. But overall good headset.
Bought these as an Xmas gift for my other half, I’ve gotta say, I’m JEALOUS. Having semi-shunned the wireless Arctis headphones of the past (plus many other wireless HP brands), I’m really happy to report, these are a PHENOMENAL! Comfy, sturdy, light, great battery life, shall I go on? With the same drivers and readily admitted better connectivity then a pair of older Arctis 7s, these puppies sound top-notch and are highly usable to boot! I’m soo glad I chose them, my beautiful lady is going to have an absolute ball with this gem of a product!
Thank you SteelSeries for smashing my skeptical expections, once again!
Edit: Here are some more thorough additions. Even considering their cheaper price, apparent downgrade from the lack of SS’s trademark adjustable ski band system, comfort isn’t an issue, if anything, they stay on your head a bit more securely, even with a mass of hair! The microphone is as clear as it has ever been, bonus for removability just, be careful not to lose it, it’s easily done… the arrival of a type-C dongle is something I thought was restricting, apart from taking up the charging slot on your phone or Switch for example, it keeps the connection steadier then I’ve even seen with other wireless gaming headsets, no latency at all (i.e. no laggy music/out of sync audio). The future is now guys n’ gals, affordable, reliable wireless gaming headphones/headsets are here, these in particular blast out fantastic, high fidelity sound that is just hard to beat at this price point. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, aslong as you have type-C devices, hop off that proverbial partition and it frolick through the golden, cascading fields of STEELSERIES products
Edit 2.0: I forgot to mention, easily tweaking these headphones with decent surround sound software on your computer is a MUST. The free, built-in ‘Windows Sonic’ is a great choice for games and movies. For music, is your lucky enough to be able to use a decent equaliser, please tweak to taste, you won’t regret it.
Great headset, super light compared to any others I have tried (Hyper X, Razer, Logitech) which makes it good for longer gaming sessions. Wireless signal is great, no issues here. Battery life is as advertised, the constant beep it makes when it’s low on battery is quite annoying however.
I listen to a lot of music and at first was disappointed with the overall sound quality compared to the Hyper X 2’s I replaced them with. They sound fairly weak and flat out of the box but after installing the Steelseries Engine software I used these EQ settings to get a more lively and powerful sound, both in games and while listening to music (find picture attached)
I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Logitech Pro X Wireless headset and after 24 hours of use I ended up going back to the Steelseries 1 Wireless, I could get it to sound better and it was a lot comfier for me due to how light it is and how well it sits on the head.
Overall a great buy for anyone that’s looking for a well priced wireless gaming headset, just make sure to play around with the EQ to get the most out of it.
Really good headset sounds are really good after making some adjustments to the software. Only thing I wish was included with this headset is the ability to hear both pc wireless audio and the 3.5mm cable audio at the same time but I know some of the other steelseries headsets have this feature.
I don’t like spending a lot of money on headsets but given these times and the amount of time I spend on the internet getting a decent headset was challenge. My last headset was a Plantronics and the mic was starting to fail. I wanted wireless but with decent sound. That pretty much makes anything under a hundred pretty much a non-runner. After looking at countless reviews I settled on the Arctis 7.
I’m glad I did. They have some weight to them, which given the batteries is understandable but are not too heavy. On my head the grip is not entirely good enough to keep them on if I lean my head more than 45 degrees but I don’t do that very often and it’s worth it for the comfort.
They certainly are comfortable. I’ve done over ten hours with them on and while you do feel them they don’t irritate in the slightest. The headband balances the pressure evenly on the top of the head and the cups surround the ear without pinning it back. Said cups have a soft cloth feel and the plastic body isn’t a fingerprint magnet.
Charging is quick and a charge lasts around the time advertised, I generally leave them plugged in at my desk and the cable isn’t annoying at all as it’s long enough so that sometimes I’ll forget I’m plugged in.
I’m no audiophile so all I say about the sound is that, to my ears, they’re fantastic. Music is great, movies are epic and the stereo works well. I play a good amount of FPS’s were audio positioning is important and these help a lot with that.
Microphone quality is good. It tucks away inside while not in use and muting it is easy with the button on that side. If you need to silence a sneeze in a hurry these headphones provide.
Battery life is great. I use them a lot so I need to recharge every two days or so but with lighter use you could probably stretch it to a week.
Another nice touch was the inclusion of a cable to plug into a 3.5mm jack. This means I can plug them into my phone and use them as passively powered cans. I don’t use that a lot as I have earbuds for travelling but a nice option to have.
It’s been a good few months since I bought them and they still look pretty new, they still work great and I’m very happy I bought them.
Bought them as I wanted a decent pair of headphones for my PS5 as I couldn’t get a Pulse headset on Pre-Order and I have not been disappointed. The battery life is amazing and super easy to connect. The sync is a tiny bit out, but as they as only used for video games, this is not an issue to me. Great product.
Simply plug the dongle into the PS5 and switch the headset on. However when I switched the headset off the sound on the TV didn’t come back on. Had to go into the PS5 settings and select Audio/tv. No big deal.
The sound from the headset is really good and I really like how the mic is detachable.
There are just a few things I need to point out.
I’ve had 2 of these already and the cushion on the headband seems to peel off, the glue just doesn’t seem to be strong enough. this happened both times in under 3 weeks of casual use.
Another thing I noticed is when using the cable, although you mute the mic, it doesn’t actually mute it. Just puts your voice really low. My friends were able to just about hear me but not make what I was saying. And when I tested the input settings it did appear to pick up some noise.
The Arctis 1 wireless headset is the best headset I have had for my PC
Due to it being wireless and not bluetooth it has never cut out on me
The battery life is fantastic on it, lasts me 2 days of use before I need to charge it
Having the USB C makes it great to plug into my phone or switch
Build quality is probably the most important thing I look for in products beyond basic function and I’ve been really impressed with this headset. It feels well made and is light, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I do wish the ear cushion was made from soft leather (rather than foam) however it’s not a deal breaker and the foam is still comfortable. I’m not an audiophile so there’s only so much I can say on the sound quality but it’s plenty good enough for me and wipes the floor compared to my previous Turtle Beach.
Decided to ignore the not so good reviews and so far I’m glad I did. I use these headphones for my Nintendo switch and they are so comfy. The sound quality is very good and everything I hoped it would be. The build quality is brilliant as well so these should last me a long time hopefully. Will edit if I have any issues
Received today but find it to be rather quiet, if you tweet the equaliser it can be too much and its very fiddly debating a return already I should of stayed with Raze
My mum bought these for my sons 8th birthday after I did a lot of research on wireless headsets. The reviews on this brand were fantastic. We’ve not been disappointed at all, he absolutely loves them. He says they are really comfortable (I’ve tried them on and agree!) The sound quality is great too apparently. I’ve added photos so you can see how they fit an average 8yo. He has them on the tightest setting, so plenty of growing room. Highly recommended this product.
Great quality of sound from the speakers as well as from the microphone. Very comfy and well done design. Mic is a separate thing to connect which isn’t very ideal and a dongle to wi-fi connection doesn’t sit well in all usb-c devices – sometimes an annoying sound of disconnecting appears. Range 3-5 metres from the audio source. The biggest con is the battery – you can’t change it as is built inside and if you charge it up to 100%, leave for some time, the headphones are discharging (of course when off). Still – I would definitively recommend them.
These headphones are great and have good sound, but they lack space for the ears. I don’t have a large head or ears but there wasn’t much space for my ears. The sponge is soft and very good if you have glasses
Basically the Arctis 7 in a cheaper shell. Quality is amazing, sound is very good. Battery life is good as well. Use this daily for work meeting (as well as music) and nightly for gaming without issue.
Ear cups are a bit shallow so your ears do occasionally press against the speaker. Doesn’t annoy me at all but it might annoy others.
Great product and definitely worth it if you need a good wireless all-rounder.
I have found it difficult to find a decent headset for my sons switch that works both in handheld mode and when mounted. This one works great and it is so easy to move between the two. Sound quality is great. Only slight concern is the headband is not as ‘moveable’ as I would like but only a slight concern. Other than that a great purchase
I LOVE this headset, it’s comfortable, light and reliable. Everything on it works the sound quality is good (it’s the same hardware sound wise as their top end headset).
The wireless connectivity has no noticeable latency and the build quality is nice, although it’s plastic and it’s a very basic retaining headband it feels very high quality and the adjustment clicks are nice. The range is good enough I’m able to get to the other side of my house before it cuts out. The microphone is by far the weakest link, and it’s just kind of meh. It’s good enough and it’s not going to be so bad people won’t want to be in a discord call with you. It’s just not great. I’d recommend this headset whole heartedly, and if you yearly care about the mic quality? There’s stand alone desk mics that are pretty comparable to blue snowballs out there for 30 dollars. You will not get a better wireless experience than this for the price.
This would be a five star product is the battery lasted longer than 8-12 hours of use.
Great fit on the ears, great software.
I would like the USB-C dongle to be smaller so it fits in my laptop – but it gets in the way of the power cable! I use a cheap Type-A to Type-C adaptor on another USB port to accommodate it.
The sound quality on these is very good and although only stereo you do hear sounds all around you clearly while playing games. Primarily use them on PS4 but also easily plug and play on my Mac. If you have a Mac or PC then you can download the app and play around with the settings which makes sounds according to your personal taste. Well made and comfy to wear these entry level Steelseries are well worth a look if you have the facility to connect to PC or Mac.
This is one of the only wireless headsets you can use with a switch and you feed a dongle into the console and link it up. There is no lag or anything and it sits comfortably. The sound quality is fine and there is an on off mic switch and adjustable volume headset. Charging cable is temperamental and the mic is quite delicate. Charge lasts quite a while around 8 hours? just a bit over priced.
Those are bass heavy out of the box same as Logitech and Corsair ones i have tried. It needs a decent equalizer to bring clarity to those headphones. The problem is that the official equalizer provided from SteelSeries within the app is TRASH! The worst equalizer i have tried so far. When i combined it with the razer THX software equalizer and also the surround spartial sound of it, the headphones shined! I am very pleased now with the performance and the clarity.
Very easy to set up and get what I feel is a good quality sound when listening to music and videos online. Microphone easy to use but star lost as I feel the quality of the sound track created on my videos is not as clear as I would like. Overall a good purchase and hopefully will last well.
Super comfy, great audio (literally can’t hear my wife upstairs shouting to me when I have these on.) The charge life is really good. It is rated at 16 hours of usage and I’d say it is about that. Charging is easy. And you can charge them whilst still using them as the cable is more than long enough to stretch.
A nice wireless headset that at first can be tricky to set up. For the first hour my mic seemed not to be working and then suddenly it started to work and still dunno how! Its comfortable to wear but the voice dosent sound too clear a bit distant at times. Sound coming from the headphones is good. Lasts about 4 hrs before charging via USB.
Online reviews said these were the best headphones for the Nintendo Switch. I haven’t tried any others, but these are damn good. So comfortable I forget I’m wearing them, great sound quality, and can be used with a variety of devices. I also use them to watch ASMR videos on YouTube, for which they excel. Totally worth it!
Working from home full time during the pandemic meant I needed some comfortable Bluetooth headphones.
The over ear design is comfortable on calls hours long and the sound quality is perfect.
It does have some issues… there is no clear indicator when picking up the headset if it had switched off or not, takes seconds to switch back on but would be good, the range is only about 20 foot from laptop… but the keys things are comfort and sound quality and these deliver so still have it 5 stars.
I’ve had this about a week now and I’m impressed with the sound. Quality of the build is mainly plastic but it’s so lightweight I don’t have an issue with it. The durability feels solid. Only thing is the charge on this doesn’t feel long. Also unless using the app u won’t know how much battery is left. The USB on this is a USB c slot so unless ur pc has one of those take that into consideration.
I bought the Arctis 1 wireless to use with the Switch while docked. They work perfectly. You can plug the dongle in the side of the Switch so it can be docked and you can have wireless audio. I couldn’t find a simple answer so I thought I’d leave one for anyone else looking.
There’s one thing that puts me off. Small hissing. If you’re not listening to anything and you have headset on, you will hear slight hissing. [Wireless interferance on 2.4Ghz?]
Something like 20dB-25dB, so I presume quite a few people wont even hear. But it’s annoying…
And my head is heating up quite easily – but in my case it’s not a suprise – same issue with g933.
Audio seems very good (not audiophile – won’t be going deep into that). microphone is good.
Having got a little fed up of trying to find a review from a ‘normal’ person who isn’t a headphone snob before actually buying these, I thought I’d write this!
I really like them is the long and short of it. The sound quality is really good in comparison to the 35 pound wired pair I was using before (not a major brand). According to my friends, the mic quality is infinitely better and improves their experience when gaming with me.
Set up was super easy and they also work on my galaxy s20 ultra and will, I guess, with any USB C device.
For 80 pounds, I’m really chuffed and would happily recommend.
I have long time hearing deficiency where I have to wear hearing aids while at work & in some situations so my hearing isn’t the best HOWEVER…..
I have had so many headset that didn’t give me enough volume but the Arctis 1 is absolutely amazing. So much so I had to turn the volume down as it was too loud on the PS4 (even with my hearing problem), see my picture for the perfect settings! Also IT’S GLASSES FRIENDLY!!
No fuss setting it up just plug in & set the PS4 to All Audio. On the Switch it just works right away & is even loud on that.
Only downside is the headset is a little tight, even on small heads like mine but after a while it feels fine.
Great gaming headset for the price! It’s more of a balanced clean sound with enough punchy bass for bullets or explosions or punches/kicks on fighting games. The cushions are super comfy and don’t leave any sweat marks allowing for ventilation of the ears. My only complaint which is a personal one is my ears are rather so small so they pressed a little bit against the actual speaker and caused some mild discomfort after an hour of gaming. Otherwise for the sound quality, build, longevity (as its wireless so no worry of ruining a 3.5mm cable though it does come bundled) and comfort you cannot go wrong! OF NOTE: THESE SOUNDED LOUDER THAN THE ARCTIS 3 WIRED CONSOLE EDITION.
The Arctis 1 Wireless headset is pretty damn good given the cost, versus more expensive options. The sound quality is good, the mic is decent and the connection is really solid. I bought these to use with both my VR set up on PC and my console set up, it’s super easy and simple to switch just moving the USB receiver. I couldn’t notice any latency issues, even with video.
I’m gutted however, that the comfort just isn’t good enough. The ear cups are great, soft and never got too warm… but the headband is poor. It’s very narrow and the padding is thin, so I am always aware of it. It’s not painfully uncomfortable but unlike my other headset, I notice it pressing on top of my head. I imagine this will only get worse over time as the padding wears out.
Might not be an issue for everyone but be aware of that. Will be returning and trying other options, maybe the Arctis 7 (2019) or Cooler Master MH670.
I bought this so I can work wireless from home and needed something that was not Blue Tooth and would be PC compatible.
Start on the Con because the plus is much much more. Con is the transmitter is a black T Bar about an inch across and if lost your not going to be happy because it is such a good system. Make it Day Glow Orange and give us two for a back up and then you have nailed it.
Build is good and very light and comfortable.
To set up was so simple I was delighted.
Sound quality out of the box was good and crisp, some reviews have said the bass is lacking and I put the headset through paces with a few music genres ie Autopsy, System Of A Down, Die Antwerp, Joan Baez, Eminem, Metalica, Tech N9ne and the theme from The Good The Bad & The Ugly. The sound is very clean and detailed the Bass doesn’t over crush, some headphones are designed to really give that massive bass that comes with modern styles. I have a pair of MX50’s that give that, but for detail and comfort these are much better and are musically excellent and give brilliant vocal detail and accurate but not overbearing bass. Plenty of volume. For movies ect I watched and listened to some old series on Netflix and 100% on that.
I tested the distance and managed to get just over 10 meters before things started to drop out and I can’t see much reason to go beyond that.
I haven’t yet tested the telephony aspects or microphone but I have some faith it will be fine based on what I have experienced so far.
Delivery was spot on.
I highly recommend this product.
Unsolicited and sat here with these on and enjoying it !!!
Really good headset, only issue is the dongle, I haven’t figured out whether you can use the headset to directly connect to blue tooth but I don’t think you ca
Bought these for my wee lad to use on his switch, xbox and phone and they work perfectly with little fuss. Have also tried on PC – work great but haven’t tried on PS4 because I don’t own one.
You use the included USB-C wireless adapter for Switch, PC, PS4 and phone. For xbox one you use the included 3.5mm audio cable and plug into the headphones and controller (wireless connection is not needed for xbox one).
Fors: Great quality build and design, nice packaging. Comes with all the cables and connectors you need for all platforms.
Againsts: The wireless adapter is USB-C but the charge cable for the actual headphones is Micro USB which is included but just a bit annoying to have to use a different cable and Micro USB is becoming outdated.
These were bought to be used with my sons switch so that he could chat his friends were playing fortnight online.
They do the job well, he is very pleased with him and can be heard well and I’ll see is friends.
Features that we particularly like are the fact that you can turn voices down and gameplay up and vice versa, see you can get it to just the right level especially if you’ve got a particularly noisy friend playing!
I liked the fact that it came with the attachment you need to plug into the switch. This meant he was able to get going straight away with it and I didn’t have to pay out front thing else. It was an all in price. We also discovered that the attachment fits the bottom of an iPhone, and into the side about Mac book laptop. These are added bonuses and places where we can also use headphones.
Another handy feature is the fact that you can have it wired if you wanted to, and you can remove the microphone as it inserts like a headphone jack. This means that you can use them as Bluetooth headphones on listening to music et cetera.
I should’ve had a little at the price, but they are undoubtedly great quality, versatile and therefore definitely worth the outlay.
I read all the reviews before going ahead with the purchase, and you can get bogged down in the detail. At the end of the day they do what they meant to, sound quality is good, and the microphone quality is too. It says on the box that they are and microphone also used by long haul freight flights because of their excellent noise cancelling capabilities, I have no idea if this is indeed the case, however it made my son extremely excited!
Ps5 must have best head phones ever sound good out of box
Straight out of the box into the computer no need to tweak any settings for gaming, overall quality is great. Sound quality is crisp and mic sounds grea
It’s perfect product. My son love it. Noice cancellation, wireless, just great. Thank u.
I purchased these headphones for gaming, the sound quality is great and the noise cancellation option is wond
My first gaming headset. Really impressed. Can hear things I never heard before!
Also works for music with my phone and pretty good.
Very comfortable and easy to use only downside is the dongle blocked the USB port on ps5 so had to use USB adapter but that is included .
Brilliant headphones.
Purchased these approx a year ago now and they are holding up strong.
Footsteps are clear as day
Far away collectibles that jingle sound like they’re right next to you
Music is loud and clear, as are movies etc
Mic is perfect, picks up your voice but barely any background noise if positioned correctly
Battery lasts 4/5 days or an entire weekend which is convenie
Would recommend!
Great quality headset, no latency that I noticed and great sound quality
Overall though a pretty good headset.
Highly recommend this headse
Have these with a couple months. Not one issue can’t fault them atall.
Really good. Might be a bit of a tight fit for people with bigger heads.
Recommended item. Bought for my son for his switch console
No complaints!!!
Definitely would buy again 🙂
Bought these for my son to use gaming etc he loves them great sound quality and effective at noise cancelling.
They are fabulous. Noise cancelling and are silent to the outside world!
Very good headset for switch. Works very well connects instantly and perfect for docked or handheld mode.
The lack of surround sound is the only downer hence 4 stars.
Overall it’s a great gaming headset for Switch and A top choice for online gaming.
Fits really well and wireless distance is very far. Sound comes out very well
Connects to all my devices with ease simply plug in the adapter and away you go. Excellent quality and long battery life. Recommend
Great build quality and nice sound. The microphone is crystal clear for audio calls too.
