How to Power This Gate Opener?
NOTE: The tiny CR2025 3V button cell batteries that come with the package are ONLY for the remote control.
Power Mode 1 – Use only the AC 220V-240V electricity to power the system
- Recommended where AC electricity is accessible and stable.
- The power supply cord is NOT included.
- The power supply cord should be at least 2×0.75mm2 (2C×18AWG). Connect the live wire and neutral wire to the “L” (#1) and “N” (#3) terminal respectively.
- Release the clutch and open the gate manually in case of power outage.
Power Mode 2– by AC 220V-240V electricity and back-up batteries, use ONLY solar panel & solar charge controller to charge the batteries
- Recommended where AC electricity is accessible, but not stable.
- Requires additional 24V 12Ah Automotive / Marine type battery (Battery is NOT included). 2 pcs 12V batteries connected in series for 24V.

I done a bit of research before buying. Price wise you cannot find better. But that’s pretty much everything
Installing is not rocket science although took awhile because at that time I dint find the instructions clear enough.
My gates are quite light and I had high hopes of these gates openers because of that just to be disappointed. During high winds is nearly impossible to close the gates or to pass with the car, dented my car because of this as appear not ho have enough power to hold the gates open.
Another annoying part is that lately I have to wait each time till gates are closed as one gate will stay half open.
The beacon which warns people about gates being open is no longer working as due to rain is full of water.
The gates will do with a sound warning better than a beacon.
I am looking for alternatives. After nearly a year I am not happy at all

Following my review I was contacted by customer support, Zack. I was offered free of charge the higher up alternatives from Topens, The AT12.
This was totally unexpected from my side which proves that this company goes above and beyond to make sure customers are happy.
I just installed the new arm openers despite receiving them in 2 days following zack email, as were sent with an express delivery. No time for a week to install but just managed that. During install, by chance was a very windy day, and I can say that my problem was sorted, as the gates were hold in place nicely.
Time will tell if I will remain trouble free. Cannot praise enough Topens customer support which was absolute fantastic. Quick solutions and prompt reply.
Nice smooth gates, easy to add the extra buttons and programme more fobs etc
I installed these about one month ago on a pair of 2.2 m high 3.5 m wide solid gates. It took two of us around 2 very busy long days, mainly because we had to install an electrical supply and we did an outside socket at the same time. You could probably do it comfortably in a day if everything is ready and prepared before attaching this kit. If you want, you can fiddle around with the settings to your heart’s content to get the doors to behave exactly as you would like them to. There are so many settings available , e.g. gentle closing time, delay between second gate opening/closing time, stalling forces. You do most of the settings from the control box, although the final closed positions of the gates are easily done on the arms themselves.
I had these gates working in *very* high winds in April and with the solid nature of the gates they did stall a couple of times in gusts of 40+ mph. Having said that, a human has a job on holding those gates in high winds, they are like super sails. As I said, you can adjust the stalling force if you wish but I left them at the pretty low default value as those kind of winds are infrequent.
After the installation, I had a few queries that I sent off to customer service. I had super quick responses from Zack who answered my questions very precisely. I also had an issue with one of the remote controllers which was resolved the same day, again by Zack. As far as longevity and reliability go, all I can say is that over the month they’ve been installed I’ve had no issues other than the one remote controller. Definitely top marks for Customer Service !

These are straightforward to install, or certainly as straightforward as gate openers could be. They work well too. I’m going to award five stars because I’m impressed with the quality and the price is attractive, at 326. Regarding price, though, keep in mind that you may well want a few of the many optional accessories. See the last picture in the listing for details.
Excellent and very good quality gate opener kit this is compatible with all dual swing gates and was easier to install then I expected! Instructions were quite straight forward and easy to follow. This is quite reliable and durable too and I’m quite pleased with how this turned out! One of the best gate openers I’ve used. Would definitely recommend

This topens automatic gate opening kit is brilliant, just what we needed fir our front gates……. They are lightweight yet durable, the quality is really good and the ease of use is excellent.
They are of a very clever design….. There’s 2 ways to install which are to allow the fares to open inwards or outwards.
They are powered by mains electricity via the built in Transformer.

My husband installed these with the help of one of our adult sons…… They mastered it in no time…… Its so easy now bringing the car in and out of our property.
These have been designed very well, they are working with no issues and they are exactly as the description states.
Both hubby and I can highly reccomend.
The price is very good as I have seen similar at a much higher price.
The Topens gate opener provides a functional automated gate for a fraction of the cost. In addition, Topen’s customer service has been simply amazing. Shelley at customer service is super quick and responsive. I struggled to find an installer, as I didn’t think I could install the unit on my own but Shelley’s quick and patient responses to all my queries made the installation process relatively seamless which saved on cost and time waiting for an installer.

Now fitted gates and openers. I must say, they work well. Very easy to fit, just followed instructions and all was well. Any problems, just email and they answer very quick. Factory settings work perfectly but if you desire you can customise most settings. Fitted easily and saved a lot of money.

The instructions were good and this made the installation really easy.
The contents were really good quality.
Once installed they were really easy to set up, I have 6 x key fobs and a wireless key pad for entry, which is handy for deliveries and visitors as the gates are quite a bit away from the house.
I would recommend these electric gate openers to anyone, really good quality, they have been on now for approx 5 months where they are used at least 6 time every day and are working perfectly every time.
Not had them installed long but seem to work as required spend the time setting them up correctly and you will have no issues
Mounting brackets could do with being bigger to cross over more of the bricks

The product is very worth it for the price i paid. Very easy to install it, less than 2 hours. Very good communication with the supplier. And excellent after sales service.
The mechanical side was a little tricky though now I’ve fitted one I could probably fit another much quicker. It’s been on my new gates a month so far seems to be working well the programming was relatively easy with the enclosed flow chart with suggested starting values for each peramater all in all very pleased
I would recommend this as excellent value for money. Instructions and videos are very good. I have not had to use the support team, I cannot comment on this
This product was very easy to install thanks to the installation video. It works beautifully with my very heavy gates. It took a few hours but is worth the effort. Highly recommended.
Very good product, Easy to install and wire up as long as you follow the the users manual. Topens support team were very good in helping in fine tuning the systerm after fitting.

The contents were really good quality and all the brackets were super strong and easily adjustable.
Instructions were good and easy to understand. The product took a few hours to instal and the fine adjustment screws on the actuators mean a precise final closed position.
My only one issue was that the cable length was to short and I would suggest increasing this to around 5 metres to avoid joining cable.
