Really pleased with this lock. Works perfectly and keeps the gates closed properly in strong wind. Also prevents having to keep adjusting them when people lean on the gates. Easy to install, nice construction and gives a touch more security. Was concerned about the delay to the opening process but you can reduce this to a touch under the 4 seconds stated in the instructions. Cotter pins could be replaced with bolts for added security but really don’t think it’s worth the hassle. Recommended and wish I had bought it with the gate opener right from the start!
Is definitely needed if your gate is in a windy location. There is a bit of natural play with the opener itself so if you want to be sure that the gate is closed and, for example, pets can’t escape then this lock is necessary. Do not consider it a security lock though if it is accessible from the outside as it looks like a determined intruder would find it easy to remove the pin.
There was a bit of confusion over whether an additional relay was needed between the lock and the opener’s control board: this was very quickly resolved by Zack in customer service.

Simple and easy to install gate lock and done to a high standard
Installed a Topens solar powered opener on a single leaf wooden gate, it works great but as the location is very windy, I was finding that the gate tended to flap a little when closed, wooden gate posts mean there always seems to be a little give in things. Anyway, got this latch as a solution for this as well as helping make the gate a bit more secure. Reading the instructions I was a bit confused as there was a mention of an additional relay board. I emailed Topens customer service and got a super quick response that explained that the interface was needed with some early versions of the control pcb. Photos showed how to tell which I had and it turns out it is the new version so no extra pcb required (it does say in the manual for the opener but did not have it to hand). Wiring and fitting is very straightforward, you need to be careful when setting the gate closed position to make sure there is no back pressure on the lock, it seems that back pressure (gate pushing back on latch) can mean the latch does not release the gate so fails to open. Making sure the gate shuts firmly avoids this and it is working great. Some openers have a push shut before unlatching to avoid this issue, hopefully Topen might look at getting the latch to open with pressure on, which is another solution. That said it is working well, no more flapping!
Works well at a good price. The only small comment is that the pack lacks any fixings – after a little messing around I found that three M5 countersink bolts through the slot of the fixed lock plate worked great, anything with a deeper head profile caused a lack of clearance to unlock.
The wiring up is simplicity itself.
After that was sorted its a great unit.
This is a must have extra, as without it the gate bounces around in the wind . Good value

Fairly easy to install, heavy duty metal body & keeps the gate closed in windy weather. Good customer services should any questions arise.
Great product should of got when I bought the electric gate so my advice would be buy gate lock when purchasing the electric gate
Required to keep my gate closed tight in higher winds. Easy to fit, did require some tweaking of the gate to make sure it consistently latched shut, but that’s to be expected. Working reliably for a couple of weeks now. Previous reviews about the security aspects are fair, it wouldn’t take much to pop out the latch pin and open the gate, but I’m sure it could be more permanently attached if required with the right know how. Overall very happy.

Prvu pour tre assist d’une batterie (que je n’ai pas mont) en cas de coupure du courant.
Bien entendu il faudra que le mcanisme d’ouverture automatique du portail permette le montage d’un verrou.
Using the manuals for both my Somfy gate openers and those supplied with this lock it was easy to work out the wiring and was done very quickly. Took a few moments to adjust the gate openers to ensure the lock worked perfectly, but all in all a great buy at a great price.
