Looked around for gate closers and after a lot of looking and reading of reviews these are the best I could find for the price. Their easy to fit with basic tools and any accomplished DIYer can fit them. Read the instructions first and measure and measure again. They will take a little adjustment but nothing too taxing.
I have had a couple of problems, a faulty control box to begin with and then a problem with the remotes. The former was dealt with quickly and without fuss (a replacement was received in 3 days), the latter was quickly diagnosed and fixed on site. A lot of better funded and better known companies could learn a lot from this company.
In view of this I would wholeheartedly recommend this product, it is a bargain, it works and it is backed up by a friendly and knowledgeable customer service department.
System works smoothly and although I had trouble with the installation, the customer service was first rate and fixed the problems I had.
I had a small technical problem, with a defective board, Topens replaced with new board within 4 days.

Firstly the product appear far better quality than expected and great value for what they cost. Yes I did have a bit of an issue setting up but as others have said the customer service support is one to be proud of – A full comprehensive answer in just a few hours and my problem was fixed. These are fitted to large wooden gates and I have to say they are top dog and have been given many a positive comment. Read the instructions thoroughly and you’ll be just fine and realise just how good these openers are and how well they can be configured, I love the slow start and stop!

It has taken me a long time to get the openers working perfectly , partly because I wanted something a bit special, they open about 100 degrees, partly because my gate posts did not make it possible to mount the brackets as they should be – so I found out the hard way that get it right and they work perfectly – otherwise ….
I am so pleased with them now – they are really good and work very well indeed.
Purchased a couple of openers from Topens. Installation was straight forward (as long as you follow the instructions).
Worked Intermittently to start with but a quick email to Topens and they sent a new clip in circuit board within 48 hours free of charge.
Everything now works 100% and my customer is very happy.
This product was fairly easy to install, however, I did have a couple of questions which were answered overnight. Very quick response, excellent customer service!!
I use it as push to open and could set it for wide open angle. Had an issue with (small problem with connector) and been solved by seller quickly, by sending new part. It works without issues for about 8 months. Really do recommend the gate and the seller.
Bought to replace a older high price model was as good at half The Price was excellent quality and easy to fit even had spare batterys for remotes works well.and the customer service is in my case(Shelly)is so knowledgeable and helpful Plus fast in response the whole package is excellent and would definitely recommend
Used for large, but light wooden gates. Software set up was very easy, with good functionality, and the physical components were easy to install. All the wiring is simple to follow. Great product, wireless remotes work from well over 60 meters in my country area. I asked about additional products to add to my set up and customer service were quick to respond and very knowledgeable.
Purchased these installed them they worked a few times then just stopped tried everything contacted topens by email they responded the next day told us to try something which we did. Remotes still wouldn’t programme sent us new remotes the next day tried them still no joy they then sent us new circuit board which worked. We didn’t have to send anything back they were more than helpful and were quick to respond to our emails.

Great value product. Good build quality and well made items. All the included fitting brackets etc were of a very high quality and the customer service by Chelsay was superb.
Installed the product myself this week, easy to install and very easy to set up. It’s early days but so far impressed with the product at a bargain price.
Great piece of kit, take your time and read instructions and all will go very smoothly. I added a wireless module to link with Alexa for complete control.

From speedy delivery to installation was a breeze! I asked a few questions of the Topens support and was very pleased with both the speed and the content of the response. Technical advise was spot on and saved me wasting money on materials and items i did not require.

I needed a gate opener to work with my gate which has one leaf that open 80 degrees and other that can open to 120 and also open and close in specific sequence. After fitting, I was able to get the gate working exactly as I wanted thanks to various programable settings that can control the speed and delays in each leaf. Quality of all the components are good, except the flashing light which so dim so did not fit that in and I will need to find alternative solution. Three weeks after installation, the power transformer failed which is not great but after-sales support was great and send me a replacement unit quickly and now everything operational again.
I really like this product and it is certainly good value for money. There are a couple of things to bear in mind though before purchase:
This unit is not compatible with the Topens gate lock. I realised afterwards it would have been useful to use the lock as the closed gates catch the wind a lot and there is some movement. I have been able to address this anyway but the lock might have been easier.
You need to get enough 7 core cable to get from the second gate motor to the control box. You will also need a waterproof enclosure to allow connection to the motor cable. You need five of the cores for the motor and 2 for the PIR transmitter. I used trailer wire and buried it in conduit.
I am an avid DIYer and found this a bit of a challenge to get everything right.
Now it’s all connected it works great.
One of the remotes stopped working. After trying new batteries to no avail, I emailed their customer support. They were brilliant and arranged for a replacement to be sent via Amazon.

Have problem with the PBS sensors as they don’t come with instructions that make it clear how to wire up and to wire up to main control board ?
As my once won’t work if turn them on gates stay open and won’t close until turn off the sensors ??
Anyone has had this problem any help would be very greatly appreciated Thanks

The Topens KD702 represents great value for money, its simple to install has a good set of instructions and a full install demonstration available on youtube. If you need tech support like I did the company is very helpful and guided me to correct the issue easily. very impressed oveall..
Very easy to setup, instructions are excellent and very easy to follow, lots of features and work well, only a few minor issues wish the post brackets had been flat instead of curved as this made it more awkward when welding onto flat metal post in my installation , but nice idea for curved posts, had a sensor screw which wouldn’t tighten but support answered straight away and arranged replacement so all good, on the whole I highly recommend these gate openers
Seems sturdy enough (good but not fantastic but for the money v.good), easy to install, programming options good.
Wish could keep open on press of button but can block photo cells, or use key but means keep key handy
I have 2 6′ 5 bar gates, move quick enough, faster than some I used.
so far close almost perfectly aligned each time once the screw adjustment set.
Does not need stop (I might add) seems firmly in place, not tried forcing of course so not sure how strong.
fairly sure you can program to stay open/closed but think auto close is best & adjust time delay leads me on to next investigation – Have now added PD132 induction loop car sensor, cheap (china!) amazon & wire, think 50 the two, dug in shingle drive, SO much better now, long drive, people can get out without me having to wait/watch. Caution if you do, think it through. As dumb switch, if you keyfob open then drive through will start to close on you as you drive over. All fine as long as don’t use keyfob OUT. IN is fine as actually closes behind you.
Really good addition is a wifi adapter, I got a HINMAY Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, Wireless WiFi .. No idea who they are but sure others are similar but for 26 well worth it
Tuya app or smartlife so can control from phones. In my case blip nearly works 40+m but app or alexa guaranteed’ish.
Alexa will then work with this. “Gate” or whatever its named but use “ON” (as if a switch), off not work.
Commands not 100% obvious as tends to cycle open, close or stop if mid way. Does not really have an open or close just opposite to what was last done but with the attached sensor is more smart.
OEM keypad is fine, has to be 6 digits which is OK, watch range, says 5-10m. mine would not work at 4.5m but if pull radio wire in main CPU out (as advised) & straighten I then got 6-7m which was fine for me.
Below is of no use to 99.9% of people but just to say it can be done & if that way inclined.
I am currently programming via the Tuya API to work (& does) from a click on my PC also blue iris (camera recording software) can then send a command to open or close, Now using blue iris I have number plate recognition & can auto open gate. Not for the faint hearted & BI is a paid app (don’t think can get a free one)

Having done a lot of online research on gate openers the Topens KD702 looked almost too good to be true. However I have not been at all disappointed. Delivery was next day from stock using Prime.
This was for a new gate installation. I found the instructions clear and concise and easy to follow. Installation was completed over just two days and very little adjustment was needed to the factory settings but where they were it was very straightforward. Customer service has been exemplary with Topens going out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction.
The system has been working satisfactorily for a couple of months now with no issues at all. Works well with both remote and hard wired controls.
I ordered the wrong item to start with and the return was easy, once I had ordered the correct openers KD702 the install was so easy, the step by step guide is fool proof.
I needed to contact customer services for a minor problem, this was done via email and the response was almost instant and sorted with step by step instructions.

Selected this product as I needed gates to open outwards and this is the only product I could find that was designed to do this. if you have to contact supplier they do respond very fast and understand what you reqiure.
Very good set and so far does very well on pretty big doors. Whilst a little bit fiddly to set up, the ability to set the individual run time for each door is incredibly useful, particularly when setting dis similar opening angles for the doors. The only issue so far after 10 days running is their tendency to creep open once the closing process has ended. We will monitor this as time goes on.
Like the ease of set up.

Need to make a few extra holes for cables. And need to find a few multi core cables before you start. But you are installing.

Product arrived swiftly. Product is fairly easy to fit taking one section at a time. I still have problems getting the gates to move pass 90 degrees which is a shame. However, so far they’ve been working as described.
A really good quality product, so simple and easy for our electrician to install as he had them working for us in only a few hours (while having to dig through concrete too!). Their opening time is quick and the signal from the remotes can be picked up from quite a way away from the sensor. All in all a product I would recommend.
Contains everything you need and instruction manual is very good. Only criticism would be the cable length on the actuators is too short. Other than that, a bargain and very customisable!

Nothing made me feel these were cheap. There are lots of handy bits in the package to make for an easy install, and the instructions are very comprehensive and in readable English. If anything the instructions could have done with a “Quick Start” section – they made everything sound much harder than it was.
The actual components feel very solid too.
With anything this complicated there will always be grumbles – control box doesn’t have enough glans options, the wires for the rams are way too short to pass underground so you end up needing another box, and the “rolling codes” security feature means users have to carry an extra remote over the ones they already have – and it doesn’t end up offering any extra security because by design you have to be able to extricate a trapped toddler, so no one with a clue would be kept out by these for more than five minutes anyway. As far as I am concerned they are there to keep the annoying group of people whom I have not invited onto my property but think they can come in because they “only” wish to change my views on God, vote for them or buy their tat. With electric gates either people are specifically invited or they will be having an interview without coffee with my dogs after breaking in. The transformer in the box is a bit noisy too.
Still, even the rolling codes show this is a quality product. I can’t comment on reliability, but to install and use this is a pleasure.
