After a spate of theft by the porch pirate crew , I bought this and it’s been quite a deterrent as they can see the light and know that you can see them so they turn away and rob somebody else. Nothing been stolen so far so great device . Highly recommended

This is a great product easy to install, and at a excellent price, I would recommend this product.
The motion detector is super sensitive. If like me you don’t have much front garden, it could become problematic as I now know when cars are passing. Overall it was reasonably easy to install. I’m considering adding outdoor cameras to this system.
I can also ask Alexa to show me the front door camera live footage on my tv via my fire stick. And Alexa notifies me when motion is detected at front door which is great for deliveries.
I also purchased 3 echo dots for different areas of the house. So I’ve linked everything up via Wi-Fi. If I can do it anyone can. Top tip set Alexa app up first with echo dots.
Purchased for my Mam, the Toucan has no subscription fees unlike the ring doorbell.

Brilliant bit of kit. Easy set up, easy installation and it does everything as described. My only big bear is the sensitivity. It’ll pick up the smallest bit of paper blowing in the wind and make out someone is at the door. Other than that 5stars

The first Toucan Doorbell to arrive unfortunately did not work. Apparently it would not charge up. However, after a cll to their customers services, they very quickly dispatched a new doorbell and this worked extremely well. Picture quality during the day is excellent while at night , the image is acceptable but better if you happen to have an additional PIR light or external light. Altogether a great product.
It has more features that I had expected can call the police has an alarm I am well pleased with this purchase.
Good but a little too sensitive on motion as wind stirring bushes created 103 alerts!
I wouldn’t be without mine as I’m disabled and have issues answering the door, this makes it so much easier for me as I can answer it whilst still sitting down, ask them to either leave the parcel on the door step or wait whilst I make my way to the door, or if its someone like a sales rep or the like I can speak to them without the pressure of being at the door at all. If your in bed there is no need to get up to answer the door, it can all be done from your mobile phone, and even better if your not in you can still talk to them through the app and tell them where to leave your parcel safely till you get back.
What more could you ask for.

Very easy to set up both the hardware and the App. The battery is still charging, some 11 hours after connecting the USB charging lead. Picture quality looks good. The camera is still in the kitchen on charge, so I can’t comment on Night vision and Motion detection.

Very good especially when factoring in the price. Runs on rechargeable batteries so very straight forward to set up. The picture and sound are both very impressive and I’ve not encountered any wifi connection problems thus far.
Easy to install no wires and was able to answer the doorbell when I was away from the house which was great very pleased with it I also purchased the Alexa show which connects to the doorbell and I can still see who’s. at the door if my phone is out of charge using the Alex show all in all good bit of tech I would recommend it.
Everythings included here for easy set-up and the plus point is its battery powered so no pesky wires it comes with full instructions though I did have some difficulties connecting it to my wi-fi which I did manage to do eventually.
The battery is rechargeable and a single charge claims to last four months, this is compatible with both android and i-phone and connects to an app, the app is free so no subscriptions a great plus.

Perfect for my house clear picture and you extinguish characters whose at the front door and surrounding .
This was easy to set up on the free Toucan App, (set up to 2.4GHz) on husband’s Android, and he fitted the wire-free camera to the brickwork near our door within minutes, using the provided screws and mount. You can pay to have Amazon install it for you, but that’s quite expensive.
As it is only 5cms wide, you can fix it to any standard doorframe if you would prefer, & very strong adhesive strips are provided if you don’t want to make screw holes. The chime takes 2 AA batteries & obviously goes indoors somewhere convenient.
The camera is black, elegant and weatherproof. It has a rechargeable battery which will need recharging (takes 4 hours) about every 4 months. A low battery alert will show on your phone.
You will get an instant alert on your phone when the motion detector senses someone at the door & you have a choice of recorded messages to talk to them, or you can speak directly to the caller & they can speak to you. There is an alarm siren to deter dodgy looking visitors and a quick dial to emergency services. If you are a shift worker, for example, there is the option to use the “Do Not Disturb” but activity will still be recorded. You can view & speak to the visitor when you are away from home.
The camera has a 180 degree wide angle, but you can reduce this if busy traffic etc needs to be excluded from
your motion zone. It has day & night vision and the picture is excellent during the day and perfectly adequate at night. We have been birdwatching by day and spotted a U.F.O last night!
Two people in the household can use this system on their phones/Alexa, & have 24hrs of recorded storage, but if you upgrade to Toucan’s Pro-plan, (2.99 per month I think) you can have up to 10 users & a week of recordings.
This has been working perfectly–even better than we expected–we just wish that the chime had a volume control as it is EXTREMELY loud!
There are clear instructions, all fittings and a (tiny!) screwdriver, and the charging cable are supplied, and it comes with a 12 month guarantee & details of customer support. There are 2 warning stickers to inform callers that they are being monitored by video. I might be wrong but I think these are law now.
I love extending the smart features in my house and this doorbell is fantastic. Some other reviews I’ve read have problems with setup/connection etc – I would put thay down to user error/lack of knowledge/poor Internet infrastructure in their house . If you have some basic understanding of how smart tech works then you’ll have no issues with setting this up. It comes with a simple to follow setup guide that is foolproof.
Once out of the box you have everything you need to get started, I gave mine a full charge and then followed the instructions. Once the app was downloaded I connected to my WiFi and after initialising the doorbell was ready to go. I attached it to the plastic casing on my door via the supplied bracket which can either be screwed on or stuck on with the supplied sticky pad. I went for the sticky pad so as not to have to drill holes in my door and once stuck it’s sold. The doorbell then attaches/detaches from the bracket and locks in with a small grub screw underneath.
Also supplied is ringer unit which takes 2 x AA batteries which are included. This can be placed in your house so as you can here the doorbell wherever you are. You can also change the ringer style if you wish but I like the classic ‘ding dong’ style rather than the full symphonies it can play!
The app is easy to use and pushes notifications to your phone when there motion detected or your doorbell Is rang. You can then choose to speak to the person by speaking into your phone or if you like choose from a list of pre recorded messages and the doorbell will speak for you – or bark like a dog if you choose the dog bark pre recorded message!
Various settings can be altered on the app such as motion sentitivty, motion detection area and so on and so forth. The picture is really good and clear and with a 180 field of view you can move your finger on the screen and look around. No lag issues, suggestion would be to make sure your router is somewhere near the front door. Mine is in the living room about 5 metres away and has a strong connection.
I like how when somebody walks up to the door the blue LED ring around the ringer lights up upon detecting their presence. Good for night time and I’ve found that instead of having my door bashed by the post woman every morning (she knocks like the Police!) she’s started to ring the doorbell which I can hear anywhere in my house and also it doesn’t make the dog bark.
Love the fact that if there is a motion detection the doorbell records it and then you can review it and watch it back in the app – been at work a few times and seen there had been people knocking on the door. Without the doorbell I would never have known they’d been. Battery life for me is around 2 weeks with the settings I use.
Lots of features, easy to use, fantastic addition to the house and at a great price point.

Taken 2 attempts to set up once set up works a treat good motion detection and night vision get allerts to my mobile when at work and charge once a week battery usually 50% so would last longer than a week great for the price happy custome
This is a very good product set up easily and im finding the battery life is great lasts well! Is a good security product when your not at home and i like the speaker feature!
I was previously only aware of the two big brand names in video doorbells and wouldn’t have thought of trying another. Simple to fit the bell/ camera to the door and the chime can be fixed or moved around. Set up with the app was flawless and linking the account to Alexa was quick and easy. Picture quality really is good, wide-angle view, brilliant security if anyone is trying to avoid motion detection. I am alerted by my phone and Alexa if any motion is detected and if the doorbell rings.
There is a delay in the doorbell being rang and my phone or Alexa letting me know, I have full fibre 150MBs so it’s not my internet speed. The dogs barking alert is good. As well as clear video quality the speech quality is clear in both directions. I can save video and also take still photos, very handy if you want to post a pic to local groups to ask if anyone recognises suspicious callers. The basic services are good but if you want more like cloud storage the premium option is only 2.99 a month.
I shall continue to tweak things to see if I can get rid of the delay, it’s ok while I’m in but would be a problem if I were out as I might not be notified in time. A good attempt at competing with higher priced top brands but the delay needs to be fixed.
Some routers do not split the 2.4 and 5ghz channels, the bt smart hub 2 is one of those routers, you need to enter router setup and disable the 5ghz channel, it can be reenabled after setup.
I already have a video doorbell from one of the well known big players, so this one was for my elderly parents who would benefit from being able to monitor who comes to the door, it would also give me a sense of how easy it was to install for a more typical user. This allows me to offer a comparative review, which some might find helpful.
TLDR; Rather impressive. The hardware is good, video and audio quality also good, nice wide angle and clear night vision works well, and everything integrates nicely with the app (Android tested). It’s really easy to install and set up. This is a credible alternative to the 2 big players in the video doorbell market.
More Detailed Review.
My father had no problems installing this, the setup instructions were simple and clear, and I had no calls to help them setting this up in any way whatsoever, it just worked. setup was quick (half an hour in total) and simple as this includes a battery powered wireless chime that you can locate wherever you wish (some other bells integrate with your existing wired chime, and needs wiring to the bell push). The downsides is that this is battery powered, the bellpush with the camera is rechargeable, and requires removal to recharge (loosen a small screw on the underside to remove, and then charge using USB, and it takes a couple of hours), bellpush can last upto 6 months between charges, but that i maximum, and depends on how much recording and movement it’s going to capture. I will update the review when i have more data on this. If it’s capturing too much (which theirs was), you can reduce its sensitivity in the app. The wireless chime takes a couple of regular AA,
Having seen the video footage in daytime and nighttime, it’s good, perhaps not quite on-par with my current, but this kit is around half the price, but it’s still very good. It’s a very nice wide angle.
The hardware is a little on the chunky side, but doesn’t look overly cheap, and better than it’s price-point. You can change the chime tone, there are 6 or so you can cycle through.
Onto the app (Android tested). It’s pretty good, not that dissimilar in functionality to my bells app from a big player. You can create ignore zones, speak to callers, send preset responses (not record your own), even send a alert tone. I was quite impressed with the app. It needs a couple of tweaks, but it’s mostly there. I found it annoying I couldn’t change the ringtone in the app, which is quite an annoying tune by default, and I also found it clunky navigating clips.
Final point is the cloud recording. The free service stores your clips online (in the cloud), for 24hrs. There are a couple of pay plans which increase this to 7 days (2.79/month) and 90 days (7.99/month), the pay plans also remove clip download limits, and increase the number of other people you can share the doorbell app connection with (free plan is 2). The free plan features and pay plans are very competitive compared to other offerings from more well known companies, so another plus here.
I contacted support with a question (just see what support quality and response times were like), and pleased to say it was good. They got back to me within 24hrs and had read/understood the question.
Overall, an impressive offering for those working to a budget, it’s also very easy to self-install. The performance is good. The only potential downside is the battery life between recharges and the faff of removing it and recharging every few months.

The video quality of the doorbell is good.
I found that the separate ringer was VERY quiet – so much so that it seemed almost pointless. There might be a setting I’m missing however..
It has many of the features of more expensive video doorbells such as night vision and online storage of data.
For the price, this seems to represent great value for money. The fact it has a separate ringer is also helpful because it means you’re not fully dependent on your phone to hear it (assuming it rings a bit louder than mine did!)
We have always wanted a camera at home, so we decided to get one of those door bells. As we have the baby we kept on the bells box cover so it doesn’t wake the baby because without it is very loud we would definitely hear it upstairs. Again because we have a baby my phones almost always on silent so I get vibrate notifications once there is movement, and we did test it out with volume when someone rings at the door my phone rings, I don’t what happens to my husbands phone as he also keeps it at home on silent. I was surprised to see the how wide it is, so we don’t see our neighbours we put the camera more inside so the brick covers their side I really don’t want to see notifications every time they leave or when they come home. And the quality of image I can’t complain I can see my husbands car reg when he parks on driveway. The car is about 2 meters away from camera. Currently it’s our toy and we love it.

Having the ability to know if someone is at your front door, even when you are out, is one of the best security advancements of our age.
Installation of the doorbell is simple, it requires no wires and has a separate battery powered remote (and programmable) chime for placing indoors. There are a variety of chimes available, which are set on the chime itself. Since it does not need to be plugged in, you can even carry this with you around the house if you are hard of hearing.
Signing up for the app is simple, I did so using my iPhone and then all you need to do is connect the doorbell to your WiFi network via the app.
‘All?’… well that was rather easier said than done. I just could not get the device to see any of my networks, (I have one business and one domestic, the latter with another separate secondary access point). With potentially any one of three network connectionss, I am surprised it saw none of them. Wondering whether the app had not installed properly, I first uninstalled and reinstalled it, but still none of my network connections were visible. My neighbour’s networks were visible, but not all of those that I can usually detect.
I was about to admit defeat when I thought I’d try my wife’s earlier model iPhone 6. I installed the app and immediately saw one of my three network connections, yet oddly not the other two. This visible connection was the furthest from my front door, which was a shame as it did result in poorer performance. Video resolution, angle of view, the ability to either message or speak to anyone calling at my door, were all excellent. However, video lag, no doubt due to distance from WiFi source, was quite pronounced.
Without additional subscription you can view and video captures in the past 24 hours, though I did find it a little difficult to find and replay individual captures, as there was a delay in starting each capture, this… as the device detected movements.
One useful adition is the ability to activate a siren at the door through the app, which will no doubt deter many a would be wrongdoer. Also at the touch of a button are a variety of prerecorded messages, which play through the doorbell with a rather robotic voice, which I quite liked as it sounded official.
This is a comprehensive package, made even more so should you subscribe to the low cost monthly plans. This enables you to store and replay captures over longer periods (7 day or 90 day), though for most people I suspect 24 hours may be enough (or 7 days at most).
Conclusion: The app has a few issues, navigation of captures is not as simple as it should be and requires a great deal of back and forth to locate an individual clip, especially if you have a lot of visitors. The doorbell itself though is very impressive, with excellent video resolution and multiple other great features. Fix the app with an update and it will easily earn the extra star!
This is ideal as I have just had a baby and often just can’t get to the front door in time if I am dealing with him. The connection to my phone is easy to set up and works really well. The quality if the sound and picture are great. I can clearly see who’s calling and give them instructions where to leave a parcel etc. This us such a help to my now even busier life.
This product is super amazing. Connects through wifi using app and is wireless and so quick to install. Has motion detection which alerts your phone which is an amazing safety feature. 180 degree wide angle lens and very clear picture quality and has automatic night vision This product is perfect to keep you and your home safe and I highly recommend it. I am really blown away by the many features and the battery lasts up to 6 months from charge.
