Really wide board, but say to fold and unfold, wheels on legs make it easy to glide around should you wish to and the stand for the steam iron is great, with a handy edge to stop the iron from slipping off.

Good value for money compared to ‘fancier branded ironing boards. Feels sturdy, quality cover (although dodgy cloud design could be better) and the shelf underneath is really handy, as is the wire holder.

Overall very happy with this board. Could do with a retractable sleeve board, and better cover design, but for the price and quality I can’t really complain.

Really sturdy ironing board. Good size. A little heavy and awkward for me to put up and down but apart from that it’s great!!

Large, sturdy, and great for ironing without having to worry about parts of clothes hanging off the edge and getting creased again after ironing. As it is large, make sure you have somewhere suitable to store it!

The age-old excuse I have used to get out of some housework is that the sink or ironing board is too low for my back. As a tall person you end up in this strange bent situation that starts to put pressure on your lower back after a while. I can no longer get away with this in terms of ironing as this ‘Large Ironing Board’ from Tower lives up to its name.

It is large in more than one way. Not only does the board reach high, but it is also wide. Even when stored away it takes up space and so we must store this in the garage as it won’t fit next to the fridge like the old model. The size of the board will be great for some, but it feels more like a professional size to me. If you are using a large steam iron with inbuilt reservoir, the board will handle the larger iron and any large sheets or something you may iron. For a household, it would suit a family with a lot of ironing that needs doing, smaller households will find it excessive.

I got this tower brand ironing board in large size. My wife absolutely loved it as she’s the one who’s in charge of ironing at our home. As per her she found it very sturdy and very easy to use. The board was safely delivered in a cardboard box wrapped in plastic. The ironing board can be folded in a compact stand and saves a lot of space in storage. We recently got philips steam generator iron, so the iron rest is big enough to hold it.

The sturdy mesh-cushioned ironing board provides a larger surface area for obliterating creases and shrinkage. The height of the ironing board is adjustable and can be adjusted upto 98cms. The linen rack is an feature to store huge pile of laundry. Overall it’s a very good ironing board which also comes with a 5 years of guarantee.

This is very heavy, but then it is HUGE.
This is the one to get if you do a lot of ironing or you want to make this tedious chore as easy as possible.
The board size is 170 x 49cm, it can be adjusted to a height of almost 1 metre.
    Very good product quality overall.

This is a fantastic ironing board if you iron a lot and have big sheets and large items to deal with. The board is very wide and nice a firm. The tray at the end is fantastic if you have a steam iron with a large base.

It has a metal Hager tray underneath which is great for smaller items.

The only reason I gave 4 stars was that it’s quite hard to put up and down. However I would recommend !

    Great board, large and firm.

Do you need an ironing board? Do you need a beast of an ironing board? Get this!

This is the Tower Large Mesh Ironing Board, that is also available in medium and small. This is the large variant which has an actual board size of 170 x 49cm and can be adjusted upto a height of nearly 1m. This is a beast!

It comes with a 10mm foam cover with cloud design, unfortunately my old ironing board cover of naked lady that undresses when ironing won’t fit. Sad face. But fortunately because of its size it fits my shirts perfectly with just three positionings they are fully ironed, winner. Even my big pants just about fit on too! The width is a great help.
Unfortunately due to the size (169 x 52 x 10cm) it may cause storage issues, as it is huge!
It has an ample amount of features including the adjustable height upto 1m, coasters for storage, solid rimmed iron rest, integrated large linen rack, wire guide and a mesh surface under the cover enabling the board to cool easier. It is really easy to fold up / down but it is a heavy unit at 9.5kg!

The board comes with a 5 year guarantee too, so peace of mind there.

I fully recommend this ironing board, as it makes one tedious task a little less hasslesome!

    Beast of an ironing board!

I ordered this ironing board as I was fed up with doing my ironing on the floor with a towel.

Arrived sealed and protected by plastic covering.

Initials thought is OMG this ironing board is massive, actually taller and wider than me.

Ironing board really well made and good quality. Fully adjustable height and locks securely into place. Folds flat but is quite heavy, wheels on bottom would be nice to roll away after use – 9 1/2 kgs is heavy to carry into cupboard.

Integrated laundry shelf is a brilliant idea, no more constant bending down to basket for next item to iron.

Size of the Iron board is massive – width alone is nearly 1/2m wide, this is great for ironing sheets but even better of ironing shirts as whole shirt and be ironed in 2 goes front and back.

Overall, buy this ironing board with your eyes open it is massive. I have come to realise size does matter and the large board has reduce my ironing time by a third.

    I would recommend this product.

The ironing board arrived sealed in plastic with cardboard protectors on the ends along with cardboard inserts protecting the main mechanism, it comes with a large glossy sheet covering the usage instructions detailed in pictures, and on the reverse it has the warranty and additional registration details.

First impressions: although large it isn’t as heavy as I expected and with the addition of the wheels can be moved easily, the board folds flat so takes up a fairly small storage footprint in our case it hangs behind a door in the bedroom on a board storage hanger, although I had to move the hanger up the door as the board is considerably longer than our old one.

I gave the board a good workout with around a hours worth of ironing, the mechanism and adjustment of height work very well and fairly smoothly, I like the movable cable holder which is simple but very useful when using a steam generator iron such as ours, I found our steam iron station fitted securely on the solid iron rest and the whole board sat very solidly while ironing. The mesh body of the board seemed to work well dispersing the heat; the large surface certainly speeded up the process not having to turn items so frequently enabling a better result.

Overall a very good ironing board, it is easy to fold and adjust, it has wheels on the end making it easy to move, although large it folds flat so storage space taken is small, I liked the cable holder and linen rack both useful additions and after using it for several hours of ironing I can’t really fault it so have given top marks.

Well designed and effective ironing board

*A review for the Medium and Large options.*

Not just a large ironing board, it’s a giant one. The dimensions of the ‘Large’ of 170x49x9cm; and the ‘Medium’ at 159.2x43x6cm, are of the board it an upright storing position. Not the stand.

The stand rises to close to 1 metre making these ironing boards very worthy for a tall person – you’re able to iron without having to crouch or arch in order to use it, which isn’t a common theme amongst all ironing boards.

This one is built to last, its solid, very sturdy, even on hard floors; and well made. Out last one failed as the folding hinges under the board, became rusty due to the use of our steam generator iron over a period of time. Time will tell if the same happens to a board from the Tower brand. If it does, i’ll report back. Tough right off the bat, it feels well constructed, and likely to provide me with at least a decade’s worth of service.

The large version also a little railing around the iron stand with a good silicone grip as additional support – to prevent our heavy Polti steam generator from slipping off. We love the addition of this railing. The medium has a similar iron stand, but one minus the railing.
The linen rack on the large is a nice touch for those that like to do a huge pile of laundry in one sitting….or standing.

The wheels in the folded position, on one side help in moving the board without lifting, though they’re not swivel wheels so they only offer a degree of support.
Just bear in mind, if you are considering the large size, that it is a monstrosity, and one which requires enough storage room using the dimensions i’ve included above.

. A Tip About the Sizing:

If you fancy a slightly smaller alternative, I suggest you go for the medium size, which is also listed on this page and one I have too. The medium is LARGER than our old LARGE ironing board from another brand, that it has replaced. Higher too, and able to stand just over 90cm tall which also makes it suitable for taller individuals. It’s tough, sturdy on our hard floors, and one which is likely to give us many years of service.
Though it has a generator stand, this larger medium size from Tower, doesn’t have a safety rail around the stand, nor a linen rack below the board, it still has the anti-slip feature on the stand, which goes some way in avoiding generator bases from slipping.
The smaller size – though the medium is still larger than average, makes it easier to fold and better to keep in a tight spot than it’s plus-sized counterpart.

I ordered the large and it is sure that it’s very big and well built, it’s great because on my old one I used to have to iron bigger things like the back of my shirt in two bits whereas with this big ironing board I can do it all in one, it’s very well made so if you’re looking for a sturdy board this is the one, the covers is great too and seems well made, putting up and folding back down is a breeze with this too, all in all, it’s a very high-quality ironing board.

I really like this ironing board. The one thing I liked is that there is wheels on the bottom so I can wheel it in and out from behind the door where I keep it. It’s very strong and sturdy. Being the large size as you’d expect it’s quite big and bulky but does fold flat. It’s height adjustable which is easy to do. The linen rack underneath is a helpful addition as handy to have. Never seen this on other ironing boards before. The design is nice and I like the mesh coating which helps the steam penetrate deep into the cloths and with thinner items you will get away with just ironing one side. It’s rather heavy so those wheels do help. The big surface area makes all the difference so if you can go for a large board and you have the room then I recommend it.
