Bought this item for cleaning while renovating. 1st item came without a hose! Amazon sent a replacement and the product works well. When using the item I still get static shock when touching the metal pole while in use.
Pros:
Power take off perfect for power tools
Large bag capacity
Easy to use switch
Velocity meter indicator
M-class rated
Cons:
Rather loud
Suction could be better for saying how loud it is
5m hose is cheap plastic
I am happy with this dust extractor. It cost me 230 at time of this review and have used it with a 125mm sander and 225mm pole sander.
It did the job well enough to stop most dust from flying around. Has a shake function which is a nice extra.
Would I buy again? Probably not
Is it worth the money? Id probably say so
Does it do what I need it too? Yes definitely
I was a bit dubious about this as some reviews were saying it had poor suction
If you compare it to units I’ve hired then yes it isn’t as powerful but they cost over 5 times as much so not a fair comparison
This works really well and filters put plaster dust pretty much completely so very pleased
I’ve had this for a few months now and it has coped with a house renovation fine
Bought this for a lot of DIY wall drilling and sanding plaster. Good value for Class M. Downsides are that it is very noisy and the hose has a life of its own.
Excellent hover for the price. Having the auto shut off, is a good feature.
very pleased with the “vacuum” performance ,am yet to link up as an extraction unit with power tools
Being an allergy sufferer and keen DIYer I’ve suffered for years. The Trend T33A has helped alleviate the sniffing, snorting, coughing and sneezing that normally comes with any DIY projects I undertake!
Easy to use and with decent suction I’ve hooked it up to circular saws, table saws, mitre saws and planers and it’s worked well.
Best use so far has been cutting PIR insulation with my rail saw, nearly zero dust created as it all went up the hose!
Great suction. Very light weight. Could be built to be a bit more robust.
Moving and handling for a day the front swivel wheel broke off .
But made good with new wheels and better fixings
used only as a general vaccuum so far so its difficult to say how it will perform on other tasks. I bought it to use for sanding/decorating to try and minimise dust generation but not used as such yet. As a general vaccuum its very good ans all the attachments are very useful
How did I do without a dust extractor so long? Seriously impressed – great suction, long suction hose and very light. I’d been using an old vacuum connected to my table saw dust outlet before buying this and immediately realised how naive I was trying to pretend that would do the job.
Only slightly less positive is with such a long suction hose, I step on it accidentally and worry it’s going to split as it’s not the most rugged hose and seems a little lightweight. Aside from that, very happy with purchase.
This has good suction and does the job. Only 4* as the plastic outer is very flimsy (skirt broke when caught on a box) and the hose is quite thin and crimps very easily.
It can be hooked up to large power tools and used to clean up industrial dust and debris – but it can still serve as a powerful floor vacuum cleaner. I got the chance to test this set out and we took it into our bookstore.
Fun fact, books are dust magnets – and a bookstore full of books is a black hole of dust attraction!
This system is amazingly powerful and worked exceptionally well on all floor types we cleaned including Carpets, Vinyl Flooring, Bare Concrete and Wood. Suction was exceptional (as you would expect from an industrial grade bit of equipment) and it has a large capacity storage for the waste it sucks up.
Initial assembly was fairly straight forward – providing you read the instructions carefully first. (I admit, I ran into problems on my first attempt as I didn’t read them at all first time around) The instructions are clearly printed and easy enough to follow with easy to decipher diagrams.
The included accessories are all great and easy to interchange. The length of the main pipe and hose is excellent, even for a tall guy like me. The power cable is super long, meaning for small to medium sized spaces, you should be good to go without having to change power sockets or get an extension lead.
Build quality seems good, The main body/drum of the system is made of metal, the top part of the unit containing the vacuum system and filters is very well put together and seems durable. The rest of the components are very plasticky though – mainly to save some weight I assume. But they all fit together well with nice and tight seals.
It all works really well, and I’ve got to say it leaves domestic vacuum cleaners in the metaphorical dust for practicality and performance.
This Trend T32 Class M Dust Extractor works very well! It has powerful suction and gets every piece of dust of my floors and carpets. It’s easy to assemble, it’s quite lightweight and it’s not too big. The wheels roll very smoothly so it’s easy to manoeuvre with the vacuum.
What’s slightly annoying though is that the metal tubes don’t have a good connection system, it’s happened a few times that they’ve come apart while I was vacuuming. It seems that you have to use quite a lot of force to put the tubes together so they’ll stay connected. What I’m also missing is that there’s no automatic system to retract the power cable, you have to manually wind it around the top.
All in all I’d say it’s a great vacuum with some minor practical flaws.
Our warehouse storage space gets extremely dusty especially with the adjoining art workshop. However it’s worth noting that we don’t use it for cleaning up any sort of woodworking or metal working dust so I can’t comment on that in my review.
However we finally feel like our workshop, warehouse and outdoor spaces are finally clear of the builders dust that have been settling for about a year, and the accumulative dust from being in use every single day. The spaces do get hoovered on a daily basis but we find it is still a bit dusty and, end up with itchy eyes and sinuses. Since swapping over to this dust extractor we have found using just once or twice a week really helps and sometimes when especially busy we use this instead of the hoover on a daily basis.
It’s extremely powerful and really helps to clear the dust. We are very impressed, and to be honest don’t know how we were coping! It is easy to assemble and use (much like an average hoover) and the instructions are clear and useful. It arrived quickly and well packaged in a handy box, and is also not too large or cumbersome, and doesn’t take up a massive amount of room (almost hoover sized) The filters are easy to use and clean out as well, and we’ve been using for about a month with no issues. We are very impressed and would definitely recommend for those of excessively dusty spaces.
It’s really easy to change both the filter and dust collection bag.
It’s more than powerful enough for my workshop needs and its abilities as a normal vacuum cleaner are just as pleasing as when I connect to my power tools to ensure a dust free environment for me to work in.
My workshop is both cleaner and safer making this a great purchase.
We work in Aluminium carving and manufacturing, as well as timber and mdf, so we end up with a lot of shavings and dust!
This is a perfect solution, the quality is stellar and the extractor itself feels of a good quality.
Its powerful, the capacity is great (think it’s 20L) and it is a great addition to our factory.
Would definitely recommend.
