While they are an exceptional pair of binoculars they are not like the old style of turning one dial to sharpen the focus. It takes a little longer to set the focus in each eye. That’s not a bad thing. Just different. The sharpness at a distance is unbelievable. I’m truly glad I purchased them!

What I like about this product: I like the feature of the compass and graticule. When spotting wildlife, I can give the heading and angle to a companion and they will be able to find it easily. I like the power and wide angle field of view.

What I dont like about this product: Trying to figure out the range. You have to use a complex scale and twist a built in dial. If this is important to you, read the instructions for use. See if it is for you. The things I like about this product make it worth it anyway to me.

Clear optics and good rangefinder. They’re not Zeiss but very clear, especially in broad daylight. A good bargain.

There’s nothing to dislike about it, and i use them to look at alsorts, plus the picture quality is excellent.

They were delivered on time. I like the view they give.

I enjoy the additional functions of these binoculars to include the azimuth and the horizontal and verticle reticle pattern that allows one to determine distance but also determine distance from your subject to additional objects within the view. I was a FIST (FO) sergeant in the US Army and so we needed this information to adjust artillery fire or just for plotting targets. It is also valuable when orienteering.

Love these, my wife tries to keep a watch on me when I go out in my kayak. With these binoculars she can still see me out over 800 meters away and then some. Keeps her calm.

These are very good binoculars. Great prisms, nice and bright, and I really like the compass. I’ve also noticed that they perform quite well at dusk in low light conditions. For the money there is nothing not to like here. Recommended!!!!

The optics on these glasses are excellent! Lightweight! Expected them to be heavier. The compass and hash marks are a plus!

Why is is wow? you dont need to focus to see the boats it is allways focused – amazing for anyone used to old binoculars

I love these and was impressed by their strong frame. Great view, comfortable and the compass is a super handy feature.

Very clear picture and good that you can adjust for each eye individually. The range finder markings are quite intrusive on the picture so if you don’t need this feature it could be a negative. The inbuilt compass is good and clear to read.

Great product, rivals many other more expensive brands. Great bang for your buck.

These are good, solid, basic binoculars. No, they probably don’t match up to a $700 pair of Steiners, but they are well-made, have good optics, and are marine-grade. I have had no problems with mine. A minor point, but I love it that they come with attached lens covers front and back. I don’t really use the reticle, but it’s there, and the night illumination works fine. Focusing was a snap for me. If you want a solid set of marine-grade binoculars and don’t want to spend a bunch of money, these may be just the ticket for you. RJB.

Trs bonne paire de jumelles, j’tais habitu la molette centrale pour la mise au point, ce modle a une mise au point indpendante o l’on ferme un il aprs l’autre. J’tais rticent au dbut mais cela permet une mise au point trs prcise et confortable. L’tanchit est trs apprciable, j’hsitais toujours sortir ma dernire paire qui ne l’tait pas.
La boussole intgre est excellente pour reprer un repre d’azimut. Pour moi, seul bmol c’est la couleur vert kaki, noire c’tait parfait. Pile hs, dommage. a ne pose pas de problme pour l’utilisateur.

So I took the binoculars to a family reunion and after a couple of days my family wanted to know where I got them as they were considering for gifts, these were far better than any other binocular that others had brought

Arrived as promised on 07/01/16 delivery driver had the good sense to leave item in porch as I was out. On initial tryout the binoculars seem good.

I have had two pairs of very similar binoculars from other manufacturers over the years and I have to say these are proving superb and great value for money. 10x magnification of great clarity, built in compass, a good strap, rubber coated and nitrogen filled. What more could the whale watcher/boat skipper need?

The binoculars were great as far as all the standards coveted for binoculars. They were simply too large and heavy for the purpose I bought them. I need a lighter and smaller pair for elk hunting. These would be awesome for waterfowl viewing or anything wetland bird watching. Not so much for hunting. Like I said before. They are very well made and seem high quality just simply too large and heavy for hunting.

I was kindly sent this product for honest reviewing purposes. Because this is a pricy item, I figure the more details I give the more helpful it’ll be so I’ve been quite detailed in my review. Feel free to skip ahead to only read the sections that are of interest to you 🙂

* About the weight & size:
The first thing I noticed was that these aren’t too heavy for binoculars (I weighed them in at 600g – just over half a kilo). In my opnion they’re a comfortable weight to carry around and use. They’re also a good size (around 20cm x 14cm) – not too big – they’ll easily fit in a backpack.

* About the numbers 10×50:
In case you’re a newbie to binoculars, the 10×50 means that you get a x10 magification, and that the diameter of the big lens is 50mm (or 5cm). The good thing about 10×50 binoculars is that the wide diameter allows a lot of light in to give a nice, bright image and the x10 magnification is enough to see close-up but not so much that it requires tripod stabilization – the image is stable when hand-held.

(NB The user guide I got was mistakenly for a 7×50 binoculars, but I think this is just a typo in the manual.)

* Contents:
As described in the product description, the binoculars arrived with lens caps for both ends, a guidance pamphlet, 1 optional bright yellow lanyard to attach to the binoculars, two lens cleaning cloths, and a carrying bag with shoulder strap. There was also an extra strap thing with zips and a buckle on it – I’m not sure what it is.

* About the lens caps:
The binoculars are fitted with individual lens caps for each of the back (objective) lenses, and these are attached to the body of the binoculars so when you take them off, they hang off the body of the binoculars – which is good because it means you can’t lose them easily. There is however an option to detach the lens caps from the body of the binoculars if you wish. There is one joint lens cap covering both front eyepieces.

* About the quality of production:
Despite being made in China, I feel like htese are a high quality product. They feel solid and well-built. The material has a non-slip feel to it which I liked since it helps you get a good grip on it. The finish looks great. It feels comfortable to hold and comfortable to use.

* About the tripod mount hole:
Although these binoculars don’t NEED a tripod because the image is quite stable when handheld, there’s a screw-lid covered tripod mount hole provided. You do need to have your own tripod already since one is not included with these binocuars.

* About adjusting it to your eyes:

There are three points of adjustment:
1.) Setting your the distance between your eyes:
The binoculars can be bent to change the distance between the eyes (called the IPD or inter-pupillary distance). It even has a little scale to show you a rough reading of your interpupillary distance in mm (from 56mm-72mm)

2.) Focus for left eye using the left eye diopter adjustment ring. (NB This differs from traditional binoculars which have a central focusing ring).

3.) Focus for right eye using the right eye dopter adjustment.

Both left and right eye adjustors have a little scale from -5 to +5 to help you set it to the right setting for your eyes.
All adjustment points are smooth and easy to operate.

* About the compass and distance calculator:
Whilst the left eye shows a clean image with nothing superimposed on it, thanks to the little square box on the surface of the binoculars that’s located over the right eyepiece, the right eye has some data superimposed over it:

1.) T-shaped scale: It has a little T-shaped scale superimposed over the image (where the horizontal scale is 4-0-4, and the vertical scale is 0-8). On this scale, every 1 figure represents 10 miles. The instruction leaflet helps explain how to use this scale to calculate the distance and size of the object you are looking at. For me at least, how to use the rangefinder was not intuitive and required to learn how to do it.

2.) A 360 degree compass, where:
360 represents North,
90 represents East
180 represents South
270 represents West.

For night-time use, there is a button on top of the binoculars that makes the scale and compass be lit with a red light when needed. The binoculars arrive with a battery already fitted to make this light work.

The left lens eye piece has a helpful Calculator Dial to help you make sense of these figures.

* In use:
Image quality is excellent and using the binoculars is comfortable in hold, not feeling too heavy, and is comfortable for the eyes. My observations for different uses:

– For wildlife & bird watching: Really impressed! The image is super-sharp, the colours are bright and vibrant, and the image is 3D-looking. The image is also nicely stable.

– For star gazing: Looking at the sky with these, a patch of what looked like clear black sky, through these binoculars showed up a lot more stars that I could see with the naked eye. I found it was great for spotting constellations. The bigger lens size (50mm) means that it gathers more light to allow you to see more stars than a smaller lens would. The star-sizes are of course just pin-pricks since this isn’t a telescope but it does help you see the stars that the naked eye can’t see, and I was pleased that the viewing was quite stable despite the high magnification.

* Bottom Line:
Overall, these feel like really nice quality binoculars with a fantastic, sharp, close-up, 3D-feeling image and great extra features like the compass and rangefinder. I’m looking forward also to testing them out at a music concert or festival in the future to see the musicians close-up even if we have seats that are a bit far from the stage.
