The actual machine is good. But the attachments aren’t. They don’t work as good as the very old vax for cleaning the stairs and furniture. Not recommend
I can’t review the use on my stairs because I’ve not used it there yet, but I’m very pleased with the results on my carpet in the lounge. Which was covered in dirt from the garden brought in by my dogs. The only thing that I have been disappointed in is the bag for the utensils which was torn when I took it out of the box.
works brilliantly need a few more uses but it brought the carpet in the less trodden area’s up very well.
So pleased I finally have my own carpet cleaner after years of hiring rug doctor! Easy to use, easy to clean, great at lifting the dirt! I need some practice with the stair gadget as I was too heavy on the cleaning solution so it took longer to dry but apart from that, chuffed to bits with my purchase. Only downside is now my family and friends keep asking to borrow it!
Firstly, I shouldn’t complain. It came to my rescue when I knocked over a tin of paint on my carpet!! OK, I did dilute the paint and it took about an hour to get it all up, but sucking up the paint away from the carpet was the only chance of rescue and I was really happy to have it.
General washing of the carpets is good. My carpets always look clean but it isn’t until you see the colour of the water after cleaning with this that you realise how much dirt is in them.
If I’m being picky I would say that it doesn’t leave the carpet as dry as I would have hoped and it’s big and heavy. Not a problem when in use as it moves across carpet very well, even on my long pile bedroom carpets, but carrying and storing the thing is something else altogether. And like any of these cleaners, you have to be prepared to spend as much time cleaning IT as you do cleaning the carpet.
It’s works I mean it’s very heavy but it works great. Just make sure that all the caps are on ect becouse for the first hour it wasn’t sucking much up and then I realised I had actually left a cap open and after that it worked grea
Brilliant carpet cleaner. Worth the money. I had a bad experience with a vax carpet cleaner which I returned because it was leaking water. But this one was super powerful and it really got into the carpet and cleaned it. You get loads of tools and free carpet cleaner with it. It’s heavy if you are going to do your stairs with but you have around 2m of pipe.
Arrived within 24 hours of order, today tackled kitchen, lounge, sofa and stairs, electric lead really long, extension hose was great fir stairs did have to move machine from the bottom to the top landing half way through, dries really quickly, the bonus for me is how easy it was to clean previous ones have been a task as we have dogs so no matter how much you vacuum before hand you always end up

Does a great job and removing embedded dirt from carpet. Used it to clean carpet after toddler puked and smell was gone within a day of carpet clean with this.
Very heavy however, which for me as young Male is fine but I can see many people will struggle to use for longer periods.

I bought a Vax carpet cleaner about 20 years ago and it was complete rubbish. So when I decided to try again it was with some reservations both about carpet cleaners in general and particularly about Vax. Eventually having trawled the various brands and models and studied reviews I decided to plump for another Vax in the mid price range. Well I have to say this time round its a very different story. The machine is so easy to understand use. There are no complex settings you pretty much set it to wash and off you go. You pull the trigger on the forward stroke to release solution into the carpet and release the trigger on the back stroke to suck up the dirty water and oh boy it it dirty. Very satisfying to see that dirt in the recovered water because its telling you what a good job you are doing. Both the clean water and dirty water tanks are easy to remove and fill/empty. I’ve used the hand attachments on both furniture and stairs and whilst I think they work quite well you don’t get that same WOW factor as you do when using the main unit. I’d certainly recommend this for the price as it only amounts to a couple of carpet hire transactions and you get to use it as often as you like.

Cant rate review for the stairs yet as not had a chance to use it for the stairs but for the rest of the unit I’m really impressed with,
Not had my carpet down long about 8 months but with young kids it’s needed doing and my god this unit made me feel scummy with the amount of dirt this pulled out my carpets,
My main advice to anyone is to go over your carpets a few times after with just plain water to make sure you extract any left over cleaning solution.

I bought this because we have a very active collie that brings in mud from the garden from her digging. This machine cleaned it perfectly,you can see the difference straight away. The old water that gets thrown away,really shows how much this is cleaning the carpet. It leaves the carpet reasonably dry too. Would definitely recommend

I lovethe twin water tanks. One for the carpet shampoo and one for the dirty water.

Really good if there is any evident stain on the carpet or sofas. Needs to push hard for a better suction.
I bought this after having to return another brand of carpet cleaner . I must say that in comparison the vax cleaned my carpets more deeply, the suction is very good & I was amazed at the colour of the water & the fluffiness of my carpets after using it. I love that this has 2 tanks which I feel makes it easier to use & my carpets dried in less than 1 hour which was great.

So, I’ve used the mainstream brand that you hire for many years and thought it about time I invested in one of my own.
I ordered this Vax CWGRV021 (went for additional attachments because of toddlers potty training and puppies going on top of it, even though I had been cleaning with urine spot cleaners – the house STUNK)
The first thing I noticed is how small the box was (about half the size I expected). Average weight for such a product.
Assembly was super easy. The bits just clip on and screw in etc. very clear instructions included. I bought the Vax pet solution for this as I was cleaning urine stink. I followed the setup instructions on the machine pamphlet rather than the solution bottle. I had read that someone had a lot of foam with warm water so I used tepid.
The machine is so easy to use. I also did a “figure 8” on old stains just because it felt right. Lol!
I did all the carpets in my house; 4 double bedrooms and the landing then down the stairs.
One of the things I noticed in the description of this machine is that it states it goes all the way to the edges…YES! Literally down the edge of the carpet at the skirting which is an inch closer than my likewise stating vacuum cleaner.
The stairs attachment (I used the one with rotating brush) was very easy to use as well. The spray has a big span and the brush scrubbed off the chocolate stains my kids left.
When I’d finished, I applied the “post treatment” lightly over all the carpets.
I decided to clean the machine well so that we don’t use a dirty machine next time. See pics!! I had vacuumed everywhere “properly” and still this machine was completely covered with hairs. The filter was so dusty and the brushes were so clogged. I’d recommend cleaning and letting compartments dry so the machine doesn’t smell next time you use it.
My husband came home once the carpets had nearly dried (I did a DEEP wash so this was about 4 hours later) and he said three things;
1) the carpet looks new
2) there is just a fresh smell rather than the damp dog smell we got from the rented machines
3) oooh how bouncy! The carpet is all fluffy again (5 years old and high traffic)
I NEVER say this but I feel so strongly about this machine; if I could give it 10 stars I would!!

Used for cleaning carpets.dried quickly looked like new after 5 puppies had numerous accidents on them. Delighted with it.
We have used this carpet washer in every carpeted room and the stairs. It worked very well. In dirtier areas it took 2 o 3 times to return the carpet to a good condition. The carpets dry quite quickly, at least at this time of the year (September).I also have to recognise the excellent customer service, both at Amazon and Vax. The first washer worked very well on floors but the stairs attachments didn’t. We did all the recommended troubleshooting steps, but it didn’t work. The item was replaced in just a few days and now it works flawlessly. Very happy with this washes. Readers must be aware that the machine is heavy
It Really does clean the carpets well. Would advise using a good Vax recommended shampoo.
I did find quite heavy when full. Have not used on stairs or upholstery yet.

Purchased this as from Amazon warehouse, it’s a carpet cleaner and I really don’t mind if it has a scuff or a box that has been bashed a bit. As it turned out the box had a hole in it and the machine inside was perfect.
Setup was simple, added warm water, added cleaning solution (will be switching brands of cleaner) and quickly figured out how to attach the hose.
This unit is heavy with water in it, but that should not be a surprise, what is important is that it holds a lot of clean water so you can easily do a whole room without any hassle. It’s not meant to be used like a hoover other than you drag it across the carpet.
Clear the area to be cleaned and then do nice slow stripes over the carpet – push forwards and squirt, then drag slowly back over the same line. Move over to a fresh bit of carpet and repeat.
Immediately noticed the quantity of water being sucked up out of the carpet – very impressive given the semi industrial machines I have used in the past. Also noticed that this machine warms the carpet as you drag it back.
Now for the quirk, if you notice that it’s not sucking up much water then switch the machine off and on again. It means that the dirty water blue plunger has activated. Once activated it wont suck any more water. This can happen in a few ways, too much dirty water in the tank – in which case empty it. If the front of the machine loses contact with the floor and finally if the filter sock around the blue plunger is not fitted properly. Take time and ensure that the filter sock is seated as well as possible – it will make all the difference.
With the cleaning solution supplied I was able to do all carpters in the house including the stair carpet. However, I have gone an bought a different solution as the Vax cleaning solution is just too expensive: Dirtbusters pet carpet cleaner 5 litre professional carpet, its a fraction of the price when you consider that you water it down 50/50 before even adding it to the machine – and it smells great.
Last tip, buy this model if you have stair carpets – the oscillation brush head is worth the extra money.
Finally, as with all machines, keep the brush heads clean. The cleaner you keep the machine the better the results.

I don’t have stairs so couldn’t say about that but I’m definitely recommending this carpet cleaner to any one who is thinking I use to pay 45 a month for rug doctors only to take a risk because the lock down ruined my carpets and I’m a mum of three very active very young children im not joking this cleaner done a better job than the rug doctor possibly because you don’t feel so rushed but I was surprised at how well it does just remember take it slow it dries fast you also don’t use to much carpet shampoo as its a divided tank and you run out of water but still have shampoo you can finish the job with what you have or you can add more just don’t put shampoo in when the tank is disconnected as opening the cap releases the vacuum seal and it leaks i found this out the hard way
Used to hire carpet cleaner but this is easier lighter and works better. Worth buying.
I’d recommend that any buyer sits in front of the machine and reads the instructions carefully, in this way it becomes obvious what and where all the features are. Once this is done the use of it is really simple.
Picks up dirt and cat hairs very very well.
In fact it picks up so many hairs it is worth cleaning the spinning brushes carefully after use, where many, understandably, get tangled.
Really happy, would definitely recommend.
I’m happy with my purchase. The only reason why I’m not giving 5 stars it’s because the carpet cleaner it’s super heavy and it’s really hard to carry it on the stairs.
But it’s a good product, it’s very noticeable the difference in the carpet after clean it.
I found the Vax a lot heavier than I expected and it is quite hard to push but I didn’t quite get the results I expected and will probably clean my carpets again in a couple of weeks but still cheaper than having them done professionally. Easy to assemble, bit of a pain getting the dirty water tank off when finished I find.
Bought this from Amazon after visiting Curry’s and seeing that just the machine was 199 with no added extras. The package from Amazon was far superior and incredible value for money – paid 152 ish for the machine and two packs of cleaning solution that was over 50 worth in Curry’s.
The machine itself is easy to put together, and use. Once you get the hang of washing and rinsing its a breeze and the carpets came up quite well tbh. I havent cleaned my carpets for years and it has given them the lift they needed. Brought the pile up too. It didnt soak them as i thought it would and by the next morning they were totally dry (i started cleaning at 10pm!).
My only issue is that when you have finished the clean when you switch off the machine for some reason it seems to drip or leak a bit of dirty water on your clean carpet, this is really annoying! So i keep it going and drag it onto a hard floor to mop up after. Not sure why it does it but hey. It can be quite heavy when the tanks are full but easy to empty and straight forward, but grateful for the large tank rather than a machine with a small one.
On my beige carpets around the skirting there is dark marks on the carpets, i can only think that this is from the dust blowing up under the floorboard edges, the cleaner has not removed this – its a shame as thats what i really bought it to tackle. I will try the hand held tools to see if it will clean it better that way.
Overall, I am happy with the machine for what it has done to the main carpets and think I might reclean again next month or something. I also feel better for knowing the carpets have been refreshed and are not so filthy – the dirt that it pulls off will make you feel dirty.
I’ve owned a few carpet cleaners and this one is the best yet.I don’t use it that regularly but when I do it drags every bit of dirt out of my carpets and rugs. One going over is usually enough to go from black water to clear.
Suction is really good and it’s simple to use. Maybe a little heavy so shorter brush strokes are better.
Recommended.

Excellent cleaning however I found that the dirty water tank had to be emptied even when very small amount of water in it, due to foaming up the float popped up very often. Hopefully because my carpet had some suds from previous shampoo cleaner and it will improve.
Great machine does what they say, I’m very pleased with it.
Make no mistake, this is an excellent, well-priced product that works like a dream. Simple to use with significant heft that helps to wash and rinse carpet that is dry within an hour. Nothing to critics, much to praise. Point of comparison, previous use of a hired Rug Doctor. The Vax gives better results and if you envisage cleaning carpets more than once at any point in time, is cheaper overall.

Very easy to use a bit heavy though. Would recommend cleaning the edges before cleaning the main carpet. Does clean very well and leaves the carpet quite dry. Have not tried it on the stairs yet – just hope the hose is long enough to reach top to bottom in one go. Result is very good!
Simple assembly and easy to use. Tried it out on the hall carpet. Worked well for the price. House is small with lots of stairs so didn’t want a too large machine. I think this will be great as only the two of us and no permanent pets
Bought this to replace an older model bought many years ago. Its excellent much lighter and much easier to clean out. 2 negatives though firstly the on off switch is hard to activate when the thing is tilted and secondly the head attachment on ours anyway didn’t click when pushing it on however Vax have despatched a replacement which I hope will work properly but overall would recommend as the cleaning results are excelle

My carpets have got pretty battered over the last 18 months. I have a duo clean vac cleaner but it had too many faults and I didn’t enjoy using it, but this on the other hand is fantastic, it has taken up many of the satins of food, drinks, sweets mud etc , a few will need redoing with the hose but I expected that due to the state of it. I love the fact it has left the lines in my carpet 🙂

Very easy to use albeit some may find it quite heavy. The machine cleans carpets very well and I used the sounsctub tool to do the stairs which also came up very well. If you take care and give an extra pass it leaves the carpets quite dry.
Impressed with the cleaning of this machine. Worked well on my carpets. Quite heavy to use when full of water but that being said probably no more than others. Easy to put together and easy to use. Carpet only damp not wet when finished so obviously sucked up the water well. Dried quite quickly but it was a hot day. Pleased with the purchase. And yes this is a genuine purchase. I always wonder myself at times.

Works a treat – spend the extra and get the this model with the extra tools. Don’t bother with Vax cleaning solution as it is too expensive. There are much cheaper alternative cleaning solutions which work just as well 🙂
When i used this the first time it stopped putting out water all the time which was infuriating. Since then, and much research, i washed it all out, including all the pipes, with hot water and now no problem at all. It seems it had some residue in the pipes that was blocking it from working ok. Used it today for the 3rd time and it worked great. Only gave 4 stars because the float keeps activating and is much too sensitive. You have to turn it off and start it again each time.

This is the best carpet cleaner in the world! I have looked for months to try and find the right one and so pleased I got this. Just moved into a new house and the water was black after cleaning the living room carpet. Picks up so much water, comes with a pre shampoo, professional one and a post spray thing which I didn’t use as have cats so wasn’t sure how safe it was. Would highly highly recommend!

I’m a flat pack anxious person and when I found I had to put some of this together I almost fainted, but I bit my lip to wake me up and it was out together with two screws and tada! I want a medal please as I’m so proud of myself.

I was unsure which model to buy so opted for the extra large tank. Good decision as the a tank does an average size living room without refilling. Carpets came up a treat, lots of brown grimy water from each room was satisfying and compared to old style cleaners, easy to assemble and operate. The cleaner has a regular or a deep clean option and a rinse which is useful to clear residue. I’m hugely impressed with the results, cheaper than a professional carpet cleaner and certainly extended our carpets life with one hours effort. Highly recommended.

Once assembled it worked really well, but a bit of a fiddle to understand how it all worked, but once I had done that I was really pleased with the suction power and how clean my carpets were.

Couldn’t be happier about this! Super easy to assemble and really straight forward to use. Some reviewers said that it leaked but I haven’t had any problems. Some people also complained that it was heavy and yes it does get a little heavier when you add the water specially because the clean water tank is on the handle but nothing compared to some machines that I have rented in the past. Highly recommended!
