Takes a bit longer to boil from empty.
I fill it up in morning full and good for 4 hours

Still early days, but so far so good! Shame you can’t see how much water is in the kettle without taking top off. Quite heavy so not suitable for all. But it seems to be doing the job! Pleased so far.

We bought one of these 1.2l Kettles five years ago, and it’s served us very well. Not only does it keep the water hot for a long time, but even when it’s had time to cool, it doesn’t pick up the stale taste we’ve had from other (plastic) kettles.

In the last couple of months our original unit was starting to click off a little early, resulting in cuppas that needed a bit of extra microwaving once the milk had been added. Descaling, with a bit of mechanical intervention around the thermostat probe in the bottom did help, but after 5 years we decided to just get a new one.

Minor cons are: The lack of a water indicator was a bit of a pain. You get used to the feel of an empty jug but there’s still a bit of guesswork involved.
Once it was a few months old, as the kettle cooled and he air pressure inside dropped, you’d hear a bit of noise as air seeped in, but nothing intrusive.

The kettle is excellent and unlike any others easily found, keeping the water you boil hot for up to 4 hours – truly eco and not gimmicky.
Seemingly very solid build, though initially it was missing a rubber plug, and now t’s just broken at the 2 year mark (trips the electricity now)!

Vektra/Grunwerg customer service when I first needed to replace it was beyond terrible (i.e. unresponsive), but Amazon came to the rescue that 1st time and replaced the kettle.

Now the kettle failed just the week before the 2 year warranty ended, but I didn’t have time to report it till the week after the warranty period. This time it’s a proper failure as we can’t use it without knocking all our sockets out!

Amazon were useless and said ‘on your bike, nothing happening here’; Vektra by total contrast were responsive and have replaced the kettle, even though originally bought from Amazon. Thank you Vektra!

I’m terrible at putting the kettle on to boil, then wandering off and forgetting about it and coming back and having to boil it all over again. With this kettle, it’s still boiling hot, so I probably halve the electricity I use on kettle boiling!

The only slight negative is that 1.7l isn’t that many mugs of tea.

I have read reviews that this kettle was poorly built and easily broken but my family has been using this kettle for over 3 years now and heavily in the last 6 months (3-6 boils per day) and have so far had no issues. It is very handy to be able to boil the kettle once in the morning and tea be made over a couple of hours without needing to re-boil.
It can be a little fiddly to pour when on the last cupful or so but this is hardly difficult and the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
For what it is worth I bought a second one for use on the boat as I thought the first was so good.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIts weird that a person could get hyped over a kettle but this lives up to it. The trigger to pour works really well though it was a little annoying at first, but the whole item feels solid and well built. I’ve poured a cup of tea 2.5 hours after boiling and it was still steaming when the water came out. Its been useful to not have to reboil the kettle every time i boil it and forget. The only downside i could think of is that it does take a while to boil, longer than some others, but other than that its really amazing!

Seems good, but two of the little rubber feet literally jumped off the bottom of the base as I took it out the wrapping. It appears they weren’t correctly pressed into the base unit during assembly.

Arrived quickly and on time. This is the second Vecktra kettle we have purchased – the first lasted 4 Years and took a real hammering! We could not recommend this product more highly, it is outstanding

Just found this amazing product. Do not have one at present. To be honest, I did not know they existed? Presently I use a vacuum flask. I boil a full kettle and then fill the flask, so I have a supply of hot water for a small quick boil for tea and can also use it straight from flask or coffee. This does save quite a lot of money per month. But now I know there is such a product available. I am seriously going to get one. Fabulous if you drink lots of hot beverages (Like myself).

Good kettle. Keeps water hot enough for tea for about 2 hrs. Coffee 4hrs.

This vacuum insulated kettle is extremely good. The water remains warm inside for over 6 hours meaning that to reheat to boiling reduces the amount of energy required. It looks good and the interior has no plastic (apart from the cap) so plastic leeching into the water is kept to a bare minimum.

The only thing I would recommend to make this kettle perfect is a slight more powerful heating element, other than that I recommend it 100%

Very pleased indeed. Much quieter than previous kettles. Be aware, the kettle has to tilt a lot when pouring which makes it quite heavy to handle on the wrist.

I have this kettle and you do not need to poor at a silly angle. It’s a great kettle and saves me lots of money by not having to boil it every time I want a drink. When mine came the lid was on the wrong way so facing away from the button but if it’s the right way there is no problem at all, it is extremely heavy and I have bad hands so I do struggle a lot but it’s worth it for the fact it keeps the water so hot.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe have a solar system so we like to have a low wattage kettle that is not over indulgent with the power it uses. Our routine is we fill the kettle in the morning for coffee – because the kettle is well insulated when we want another drink say in a couple of hours the water is still very hot – we switch the kettle on to give the water is given a boost and it is re-boiled in within a minute – about the time it takes to put the coffee into the cups.
The general build quality of the product is good and the design is comfortable on the eye. Due to the thermal qualities of the product, pouring the water takes a bit of getting used to. I feel confident that over an annual cycle the product will be very energy efficient when compared to the super fast boil kettles..

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFabulous. Quiet and quick. Really excellent. Only improvement would be having an outside water measurement so you can see without opening it. Otherwise, highly recommended and does what is says – keeps the water hot. UPDATE: After 18 months, the tab on the lid broke. I could still use it but had to twist the lid each time to open. Contacted Vektra and they have provided a new lid free – THANK-YOU! My only wish now was that it was much bigger, because it holds the heat so well but I use it all too fast. Boil once a day for all your water for tea & coffee.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m very happy with it!
It is much quieter and no steam due to fully closing lid.
Minute piece of plastic inside, no plastic water gage or other parts, just metal bit to show max filling level.
It takes about a minute longer to boil (5 minutes compared to 4 minutes for our old kettle – I timed them both!)
The lid use is straight forward, the kettle pours accurately, no dribbling, to spead up pouring just remove the lid which is easy
It is at 1088g 400g heavier than our old kettle, but feels manageable even when full.
I can recommend it. I looked at many kettles in stores, but none of them convinced me.

Good kettle but does have some flaws
1st you have limited capacity about 4 decent cups
2 there is a button which lets the water out could be better positioned
Takes 4 mins approximately from cold to boil
    On the heavy side
On the plus side uses under half the power of our old kettle approximately 1.3 kW instead of 3kw
Once it’s boiled you can’t boil the kettle until it goes cold enough saving more energy so know one can re boil the kettle
Stays warm for quite some time so the water if re boiled takes no time at all
No steam at all so no kids getting scalded and kettle was knocked over when hot and full but didn’t leak very impressed great if you have kids like me
In all a good buy at the discount price fast delivery well thought out product far more positives than negatives worth the money

Does what it says on the tin. Have used water for tea hours after initial boil. Only thing I would change is that I would feel more secure with a better handle on the lid to twist it off (it has to be quite tight to maintain the vacuum).

Great, works well, takes a little longer to boil than an ordinary kettle but certainly keeps the water hot.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI didn’t think you could get excited about a kettle but this one is great! Had it 2 days, so review so far …..

Its not a rapid boil, but then it doesn’t need to be. It really does keep the water hot enough to make tea / coffee for a good few hours (I’ve not timed it properly) so as soon as I fancy a cup I can make one instantly. Its perfect for me as I tend to put the kettle on, go back to the laptop and do some work then forget I was making a hot drink and have to start the cycle again, but no more, as soon as I remember I was making a coffee the kettle is still hot enough and for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th….(I drink too much coffee) cup there’s no waiting for the kettle to boil.

All the interior is stainless steel (except the underside of the lid) and no plastic water gauge. When the water is poured it does go through a plastic spout but that is the only time the water is in contact with plastic.

I saw another review mention a slow pour, but I’ve not found that to be the case.

I was concerned I may not be able to pour and press the release lever as I’ve only got small hands but actually its not a problem at all.

Unexpected plus side – I’ve not noticed any steam escape the kettle during the boil so it doesn’t matter where I sit the kettle (eg: under wall cupboards) as condensation no longer an issue.

Minor downside – the kettle is a little on the heavy side when empty, which isn’t a problem for me but may be for others. I was worried when I first got it out of the box but after using it the weight is fine.

If I have any problems I’ll update the review but so far I’m really happy.

Been looking for an insulated kettle for some time as one further small step to reducing my electricity bills and carbon emissions. This does the job well, if not perfectly – the outside is still palpably very slightly warm, so insulation isn’t perfect. I reheat it when I need a hot water bolus rather than relying on the heat conserved, but as the water inside is still close to boiling it doesn’t use much power. It’s also a very solidly built and nice looking product. One slight niggle is that the flow from the spout can be a bit slow and irregular but you soon get used to it..One other feature that’s missing is the ability to read on the side how much water is in the kettle so avoiding overfilling. Perhaps someone will merge the features of the Eco-kettle with this product to produce a truly green kettle. Overall another very useful tool to reduce your consumption of the UK’s unfortunately fossil heavy electricity

I was given one of these as a gift while back and it is one of the best things we’ve ever been given- its the perfect kettle. It holds as much as a normal kettle, and is a top quality design. Stylish, innovative and quality, I would certainly recommend!

keeps water warm for 2 hours about for tea . For green tea or coffee your could get away with 3 hours around that … maybe 4 if like colder drinks
pretty good … even if you reboil only takes a few seconds because it’s so warm.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersBought this from NEC bbc food show on a special price after reading the info my wife likes it as it boils quicker and stays hotter longer meaning less electric. For those who say it pours slow or you have to take the lid off to pour ! Read the instructions or visit the website as you just press down on the lid handle with thumb and pour otherwise this would be a flaw and heat would escape allowing cooler air to bring temp down, obviously I found the more the water is near the bottom the more of a tilt is needed. Overall a decent kettle water hot enough for tea 1-2 hours after boil coffee up to 3 hrs. More info check website

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersExcellent, stylish and well made kettle. I bought it to replace my 15 year old Philips Filterline kettle and the Vektra boils quicker and quieter. I bought it for its eco-credentials but I’m very pleased with the build quality. Lets be perfectly clear though, the most eco friendly way to use a kettle is to only boil what you need. If however you live in a household like mine where this seems to be impossible (!) this is your next best option – boil the kettle once at breakfast for example, and have enough hot water to make tea or coffee for the rest of the morning. The other features that I like are the safety features, the kettle is cool to touch and has a thumb operated stopper to minimise spillage. Another review has commented about the slow pour rate and your thumb being scalded whilst pouring and operating the stopper but I have not found this to be an issue. Overall a great kettle, shame given the price thats its not actually made in the UK.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWorks brilliantly – you can make a drinkably hot drink 4 hours after boiling. The only downside is that the lid has to be removed to pour. It’s simple enough – if you depress the lever on the lid with your thumb whilst holding the handle and twist slightly anticlockwise it pops off but my teenage daughter has scalded herself getting to grips with it.
