For those wanting to know – yes this powers a Mac book pro m1 2020, and yes it comes with the correct usbc lead that you need to connect. Have only received this today and was worried that it wouldn’t work due to some of the reviews on here. I even purchased seperate usbc leads which I have now cancelled m. Great value. Time will tell if the product is of good quality.
That says it all. I’m very satisfied with the product.
Use a suitable usb C cable otherwise it will not recognize
So far I am very pleased with this monitor. It is set up to work with an HP lap top with an extended desk top as a main screen with the lap top screen as secondary. Good and bright monitor. Very easy to set up. Used by me as an office monitor for emails, documents, internet etc. so cannot comment on how good it is for gaming.
Easy setup. Screen tilts. Hooks up to PC or Mac. Great value.
In general it’s a good monitor. I bought this one as it had the connectivity I was after, to connect to various generation of computers. However, the usb C connector is not often recognised by the monitor and it is really annoying when I am trying to connect it to my MacBook via usb C. I did consider returning the monitor, but I can still use it fine with HDMI and VGA connections.
love that a macbook will charge through the usb-c that connects the display. my 2019 macbook air only has two built-in usb-c ports so it’s nice that both aren’t always in use between charging and monitor.

Betreibe den Monitor am iMac 2020 als Zweitdisplay und habe fr den Preis auch nicht viel erwartet, aber ein bisschen mehr Helligkeit wre schon schn gewesen.
Sehr guter Monitor. Ist optisch wirklich schn.
Leider war kein thunderbolt Kabel dabei kostet ca 30 extra, lohnt sich aber fr alle mac user 😉

After buying another product, a competitor…I realised that it didn’t fill all my expectations. So I return the product and started to search for another monitor, I’m a designer and I needed really good resolution, I choose this one by far, the colors are similar to the monitor of a macbook pro.the size is perfect, and the weight make it feel like a real monitor, not a toy just for looking YouTube. This monitor surpassed all what I was looking for. I strongly recommend this monitor if you thinking to work on design, animation or video.
I am so glad I purchased this monitor. I use it with my MacBook pro. The included cable connects directly to my computer and it charges my computer so I don’t have to have extra cords plugged in. The size is just right and I am very happy with my purchase.
Slim, clean and optimizes the whole screen. This is the perfect monitor for home/business use.
This monitor is great. Fairly well-priced, with good visuals and easy set-up. I purchased this monitor because it has USBC capabilities. I own a MacBook, and the only port is for USBC. However, the most frustrating thing is that it does not come with a USBC cable that could be used to connect the monitor to a laptop. Instead, it just comes with an HDMI and no instructions. If I wanted an HDMI compatible monitor, I would’ve paid about $100 less and just purchased one. Once I figured out which cable works for connecting the monitor to my MacBook (it’s a lightning USBC, btw), it worked great.
Like some other reviewers I had problems getting the USB C port to work. The USB C cable that came with my MacBook Pro worked at first but then stopped. I tried an iVANKY USB C 3.2 cable, which also didn’t work. I contacted Viewsonic customer support. My representative was very responsive and helpful. After some troubleshooting they suggested that I order a cable from them (Viewsonic Item / SKU # CB-00012542). That cable worked. What’s interesting is that the iVANKY cable is working now, but the Apple cable is not. Viewsonic customer support also said that plugging the monitor into a sensitive power strip or outlet could cause problems. I had the monitor plugged into an old power strip when the problems started. I moved it to a reliable outlet, but only that plus the Viewsonic cable restored functionality. I can only speculate that using the Viewsonic cable somehow reset the port recognition which now allows the iVANKY cable to work, but I don’t have the expertise to support that.
Note also that throughout the USB C issues the HDMI port on the monitor worked fine.
My advice is to choose your power source and data cable carefully if you want USB C connectivity.
Not exactly bezel less but for the price you can’t beat it. Decent picture quality but again it’s a budget model. Realistic expectations will lead you to happy results.
Revising my review upward as the new thunderbolt USB-C to USB-C cable from Belkin did the trick. I am giving it four stars because there could have been better documentation from the manufacturer. Other than that, the product is good value for the price.
