Half the price or less than the leading brands, and tbh it shows a bit. Got scuffed up when installing it (just from setting it down). The hinges are a faff compared to others and it’s not especially easy to use – however it absolutely does the job and if the idea of spending 500+ on a box seems a bit crazy then this one’s for you.
We got this on an offer for 134.99 and it was a good deal. The box hinges and lock are on the flimsy side and not as sturdy when compared to a previous roof box we had. As another reviewer mentioned, the M6 nuts should have been fixed into the plastic turn handles as it was a right fiddle to get them located and seated to allow us to screw onto the elongated U bolts to secure the box to the roof rack. We’d suggest a dab of glue to hold the nuts inside the turn handles prior to securing to your roof rack !
We only plan light useage for the box on shopping trips from our village to nearest city, not camping as we did before so we expect this box should serve our purpose.
Just the right size for a 5 man tent, chairs and a lot more, we had a 420l which needed 2 person to fit, this one I can fit on My own, great roof box, and value for money.
Excellent quality and robust, the only comment is. It is a bit difficult tightening the nuts onto the clamps, you have to put the plastic wing nuts on first. Then start the nuts on the clamps, you have to hold the plastic wing nuts up to engage the nuts. You can only manage a short turn before you have to pull up to engage the nuts. It would be better if the nuts went on first and then engaged in the plastic section to tighten the nuts.
Great price and good quality, just what I needed to put my awning and pole’s in, happy with the quality and price would recommend.
Enjoying it a lot! Bought it and took on my holidays and fits things quite well.
I have to say that for the size could be slightly cheaper but I really enjoyed it and will be using it a lot from now on mostly on trips of course.
