Little Yet Loud
Perfect for home
The Pathfinder 10âs powerful yet always tone-filled 10-Watt output, makes this amp perfect for home practice, backstage warm-up and recording. The Clean/Overdrive switch allows you to change instantly between clean and dirty sounds. With a mere press of this switch you can go from a crystal clear clean sound to our uniquely warm distortion; or from a slightly crunchy bluesy tone to a high-gain, modern-rock roar.
TOP PANEL FEATURES
Input Jacks. This, believe it or not, is where you plug your guitar into the amp!
Gain Control. This adjusts the overall preamp gain of the amplifier. This control can produce a wide variety of killer tones – from clean to crunchy to crazy and all points in-between! What you get all depends on how you set this control and also how you have the Clean/Overdrive Switch (3) set. In both Switch modes – Clean & Overdrive – turning the Gain control down (i.e. counter clockwise) will clean up your sound while cranking it up (i.e. turning it clockwise) will dirty things up. The possibilities are endless.
Clean/Overdrive Switch. As its name suggests, this switch puts the preamp of the Pathfinder 10 in one of two distinctly different modes -Clean (switch “out”) or Overdrive (switch “in”). And, as you’d expect, the Overdrive mode has bags more gain than the Clean mode. So, if you want more gain just press this button in and let rip!
Treble Control. This adjusts the treble (high) frequencies in your tone. It can take your sound from soft and round, to bright and cutting, and any point in-between.
Bass Control. This adjusts the bass (low) frequencies in your tone. It can take your sound from warm and light, to dark and heavy and any point in-between.
Volume Control. This determines the overall volume of the amplifier. Setting this control high while keeping the Gain low works well for clean sounds (HINT: make sure the Clean/Overdrive Switch is “out” if you wanna go clean!), while setting the Master Volume lower, engaging the Overdrive mode and turning up the Gain will give you a fat, distorted sound at a lower, “bedroom friendly” volume.
Headphone/Line Out Jack. This dual output carries a specially filtered signal for use with either headphones or for direct connection to a soundboard or recording console. The LINE OUT gives you a good sounding signal for recording or live work without having to mic up the amp. Inserting a jack-plug into this jack will mute the internal speaker.
Power ON/OFF Switch & LED. On/Off switch for mains (AC) power to amplifier. Plus power indicator LED.

Great little amp for practice , can’t go wrong for price , and it’s a vox
You get a great sound from this little AMP, very happy with this
Just received it and a quick test only.
Fantastic sound and in a class by itself.
The previous “other brand” will soon be disposed.
Used to play Vox amps , all Tube not the smaller “practice” amps but was very pleased and surprised to hear how good this Vox is.
Cracking little amp. I upgraded the speaker to a Celestion “Eight-15” (a pretty straightforward mod) and it’s gone from sounding very good to sounding great. Even with the 30 upgrade, this is still a bargain.
As long as your expectations are realistic (spend 1,000 if you want a 1000 amp!), it’s a great, unfussy buy.
Great little amp with that classic vox sound
Even though it’s small it’s still very loud and looks the business!!it’s great for my needs as I have a young daughter so it’s quiet enough at low volume and with the headphone jack for phones as a bonus!!I can get that Brit beatle tone with it that sounds great with the overdrive channel and the cleans are great too!!only negative I can think of is it has no built in reverb But I’ve heard it takes pedals really well!! For 73 delivered it’s a bargain!!
Beginner?,buy this then step up to a vt40+ unless you can afford to go straight to the vt40+ .
Also by vox, the vt40+ modelling amp has a double anode valve, and is just so versatile , and plenty powerful enough for gigging( comes in other sizes vt20+ vt120+)
Great for use in a small room, great value for money, and has a nice vintage vibe about it.
Got this item for home practice. It looks really good and the sound quality is better than I expected. Very pleased so far.
Playing guitar On to record sound, the amp can sound light On clean or heavy On overdrive, so loud one cannot play in a confined space, so play anything from country to very heavy rock, I produced a drumming like sound guitar On mine, so, experiment with sound, but do get some good earplugs if your going to be rocking out, hearing is precious.
Light and portable.
Plays well
Like adjustable modes from soft to harsh.
Very good practice amplifier
Works well with remote receive
Used to relearn
electric guitar after a stroke. More features than well known competition. Best bang per buck for a practice amp.
There’s nothing not to like about this amp… despite it’s size (which isn’t that small) it’s got the true VOX sound through and through on both modes and all levels… Great chimey cleans with nice crunchy rock over drive too.
The delivery was very fast and so early I was shocked. Came well packaged and delivered by UPS, which was a bonus as opposed to Royal Mail.
A great amp for beginners, intermediates and pros. Sounds great when the volume is low for practice and sounds even better when the volume is cranked up. Awesome buy.
The build is great and quite heavy when compared to the average overpriced modelling amps of similar wattage and some (trust me I’ve had a few! Lol) and still built to last many, many years and small gigs too if miked up for extra ear crunching punch!!
A VOX and a few pedals is all you need and will still probably come to around half the price when compared to those toy practice modelling amps out there that are all the rage at the moment. Overall, awesome bargain.
Every guitarist needs a VOX just for the sheer delightl of it!
If in doubt get the VOX out!!
Happy Rocking or Rolling and just crank up the volume and enjoy the VOX sound of whatever you’re into!!
Great for beginners, however there is a buzz if you turn the gain up too far. Great looking and for the price.
The sound quality is very good for the price.I think it,s partly the studyness of the cabinet and the quality of the speaker. It can pump out quite a bit of volume for its 10 watts .
Very good for the price ,great looks and quite punchy.
Well known name for sound and build and a name well trusted. The amplifier is so versatile for beginners and very easy to get used to, the sounds that come from this little gem makes it a winner for a beginner. 10/10
Bought this as a travel/ practice amp works great with all kinds of guitars no crackling, fuzz or feedback.
I mainly use this with my Takamine TF250SMC, perfect for hooking up to a recording setup in a pinch too!
Also works great for running into a recording setup, as you can get some extra adjustments before you play around with DAW.
Also has that nice amp smell I know I’m not the only guitarist that has smelled inside their amp
It’s no marshall, but for the price you can’t complain.
I bought this amp just over a year ago, to see myself through lockdown (this and a cheap used pacifica for 90). Its an awesome piece of kit for a beginner:
-Looks: it has a great vintage look and style, so much better than the fender and marshall amps in this price bracket
-Interface: simple to use – plug, dial and play, easy to get the tone you want in seconds
-Volume: I only play at home and I’ve never played this with volume past noon, even on clean – really, its plenty loud if you’re worried about it being only 10w
-Tone: this is the important one – the clean and gain/od sounds are great. I can get it screaming for a satriani solo, or thick and brutal for metallica riffs. I’ve read it doesn’t do high gain well but to me it’s more than adequate. On clean, it sounds very clear and chimey, and its perfect if I’m playing a classical piece, or if I’m learning a solo or run. You can thicken the clean by turning the gain to max and it gets you a decent glassy jazz tone.
You cant beat this thing for the price. If your starting out, this amp will grow with you until you find the sound you want for that next step.
Straight from the box it sounds wonderful, after a bit of adjusting the gain, treble, bass, and the guitar tones, it sounds incredible. Whack on the overdrive and it’s booming. As a first practice amp,or a replacement, this is the one to get, Vox, it’s quality from the off.
Brilliant piece off Kit sound is awesome either with overdrive or not , great to play a Les Paul electric guitar on ! . Great Amp for beginners and Value for money on this item
Firstly, I all about the aesthetics. It’s the best looking amp in the price range, beautiful vintage look, and feels quality. A Chunky 7kg. Light enough to carry about, but not some flighty empty box, feels rock solid. Better than I imagined. I really the half open back which allows the sound to permeate out and around….fills the room easily, louder than what I expected turned up….you could do a small cafe/bar gig I reckon! Buttons on top all Rick solid, pretty much indestructible bit of Kit! Thought I’d prefer an amp with buttons on front for tech flexing for visitors! But I love this clean vintage front look now, I’m real happy this is my first amp! PJ Harvey uses Vox amps too! Massive ones!(Orange crush too)…..the open back of this beaut allows you put your picks, lead, bits and pieces (chocolate,cigs/lighter!) in back and carry)move around safely, they won’t fall out as deep 3 inch edge…..I bought this for the vintage look, and warm sound……it looks cool, and it’s the only small “home/garage/cafe amp I wouldn’t feel serif self conscious carry about in public as a beginner guitarist! Because people who don’t know it’s a guitar amp will just think it looks cool. I checked out every single amp and review and video you can imagine….. hundreds! This won. You will not be disappointed for 58!…..I’ll probably try the equivalent size orange crush next in a year, or Fender Champion which are a bit more expensive…..but it’s not necessary.
Superb sound for a practice amp with that classic Vox vibe at a great price.
Great sound coming out of the amp. Perfect compact size and still good for performing.
Great amplifier and easy to use, nice time and great range of sounds just from the base amp both distorted and of course the lovley clean tones which really ring throughout any playing clean licks and chords.
Great price, great sound, fast and secure delivery. Very pleased.
I’m brand new to guitar, my partner is fairly good. We both really like this amp! It’s easy to use, simple lay out so not difficult to learn how to use. It sounds brilliant too!
Excellent little practice amp with sufficient abilities to deliver good tone. While a virtuoso performer may look for more, as a small plug in and play amp it compares favourably to equipment with a much higher tag.
I like this amp., having bought it for my Yamaha Silent Violin, which already has its own preamp box. With input gain set fairly low, I get the acoustic sound that I usually want and ample volume for use at home. With higher input gain (and output volume reduced correspondingly) I produce a somewhat distorted tone. The maximum input gain is useless for me since everything comes out at the same volume including every knock or creak!
From an instrument with no pre-amp the signal might be weaker. Then the input gain of the amp would need to be turned up higher.
I have been playing guitar for over 35 years and decided that I wanted a little fart-box amp for my living room so I can noodle around in comfort (All my other amps are 100w + huge, and set up how I like it in the studio) Looked at all the 3w – 15w range Fender , Marshall & Orange but went for this for two reasons:
1) I didn’t have a Vox
2) it was the right price.
Delivery was two days quicker than estimated and it most certainly is NOT a fart-box.
Clean, It has a lovely creamy sound that I simply was not expecting. Gives a decent level of volume and a good pedal platform.
Gain/drive takes a bit of dialling in but you can get a good British blues sound out of it. Seems to Struggle with full on Distortion though, but that’s what pedals are for.
A very surprising little purchase.
Went to a shop to purchase but they wanted delivery costs and a fairly long delay. This came with free and prompt delivery, very pleased.
I love this thing. Is it going to fill a hall? No. Is it value for money and well made? Yes. This little amp has made me unpack all of my kit because it’s a joy to play on. Do I have large Marshall and Fender amps? Sure I do. Are they being used for a little jam? No. Sometimes simple is best, and this has bags of personality. My new favourite toy.
great value for less than 60 for ideal practice amp, if amp had reverb would be perfect but good tone overall, looks vintage and nice compact size
Works and sounds like a 10w practice amp, don’t expect professional performance sound and quality but great for playing at home or at practice sessions. Looks amazing and really simple to use.
Great for home recording. I live in a flat and can not crank it up. Has an output jack for line-in recording purposes. Sounds is a nod to the old a retro compressor amps but, I would spend a bit more if you are looking for that VOX sound. The sound is certainly enjoyable and angry sounding and is much better than the cheaper amps I have had. Wonderful retro diamond front. It sounds the same through headphone jack, which is useful for practicing late at night. Limited effects, only 2 channels, but for the money it is great value.
Love it! It’s way better practice amp than my previous one that was included in a guitar kit.
Great for what I wanted, good quality, price was very competitive. Delivery was much quicker than estimated as well. For what I anticipated as a “practice ” amp it’s pretty loud ,now drowning out next doors dog barking.
wow….Excellent, my neighbor loves me me , outstanding quality
I would highly recommend buying the amplifier small but extremely Powerful
Absolutely love it.
I use a valvetronix 125 for gigs but was looking for a more portable solution for writing sessions. This fits on so many levels. Just buy it you will not be disapointed
Light and compact. Clean sound is excellent, overdriven sound less so, but still good by comparison with similar solid state amps. Looks good too.
Fantastic for the price.
A really nice beginner amp. Nice tone. Add some pedals for basic effects, reverb, chorus and so on and you’ve a home amp that can grow with you
Had a older practice amplifier and use the new vox now. Sound is heaps better.
Fantastic practice amp. Good range of effects and ideal for a beginner, especially at the price. You will not be dissapointed.
Very good amp that has great volume for how small it is, so simple to use for a beginner and definitely would recommend to buy this amp as it is such good quality and great packaging!
Terrific starter amp for budding rock stars! It’s got a great little overdrive sound on it as well.
great looking amp. love the prestige of the classic vox vibe. tones coming from the amp are good too although you do have to crank it up a little. i also like the headphone option although this is standard on most amps, the sound through this is still very good and prevents me from disrupting the family too much!
Awesome amp. Not meant for major performing, but it’s perfect to get started and it’s a great price for a Vox- arguably the best choice, even better than Marshall, I’d say.
This is a very good little amp, no buzzing in the slightest and it’s one of the most silent (when not playing the strings) Amps I’ve ever had. My only issue is that when Overdrive is on, it gets really saturated (I think that’s the correct word). It rumbles and it’s hard to tell notes apart. Would 100% recommend for beginners, great value for money and looks amazing
I’m blown away at the quality of this amp, especially at this price point (61). Using a Boss DS-2 distortion pedal I’ve managed to get sounds that range from Brian May to Kurt Cobain. It’s a lush AC30 replica, that even has that valve sound. An excellent practice app that’s perfect for playing at home or to records.
First the good news. It arrived quickly and looks the biz. Now the bad news. Didn’t work. Power light illuminates but no output via speaker or headphone jack. Spoke to a human at the supplier, who does surprisingly for these days have a contact phone number on their website. Promised a replacement to be despatched within 24 hours.
Will update if/when replacement arrives but not impressed to date. Clearly these items do not appear to undergo any checks prior to despatch or am I expecting too much?
Update.
Replacement amp arrived after 4 days. Looking at both sets of packaging I have a sneaky feeling that the first [faulty] amp may have been a service return, sent out again. They don’t want it back, either.
So I plug replacement amp in and hey, it works, but, you knew there was going to be a but, on the clean channel there is a crackling noise which I can make come or go by playing around with the guitar cable close to the amp jack socket. The instructions with the amp do actually state to use a “good quality guitar cable”. So I swapped the old nondescript lead for a Planet Waves fully shielded cable that I use on my electro-acoustic set-up and hey-ho, the crackling noise disappeared, totally. Seems to indicate some socket-screening cost-saving by Vox in this area?
After a few hours playing I am mightily impressed with the sound of this little amp. Plugging in a Fender Strat I can get pure Hendrix/Clapton tones by playing around between channels and gain settings. Plug in a Telecaster and country pickin’ sounds just ooze out of it. It also sounds quite loud for its size. Early days I know, but I could really get to love this little bugger.
BEAUTIFULL LITTLE PRACTICE AMP . LOVE IT USE IT ALL THE TIME.
Lovely amp, using for almost 4 years now and didn’t have a problem with it.
Good quality sound.
Size, looks great, great sound. Great value. Great practice amp..
For the cost this is a very good amp, I’ve attached some pedals and for the price it sounds astonishing, and I’ve barely turned it up. Great little practice amp. Only negative is that the overdrive is pretty hideous, but with some delay and compression is decent enough…but for the price. Brilliant Vox.
Perfect for my wife, she has just stated to lea
Bought for my son [he is an accomplished bass guitarist] to practice in a small space without upsetting the neighbours! He was very impressed as he was used to his Trace Elliot stack and it coped well with his Fender Elite Jazz bass!
Brilliant amp. Portable, loud, and emits a great, balanced sound. I highly recommend for beginner guitarists.
Perfect for playing at home. Lively sound at lower levels. Ace.
For the price felt it was good value. Very substantial product. Its my first amp and very pleased with purchase. Delivered promptly.
Would recommend. Great price and sounds amazing. Definitely worth every penny
For the size and price, this is a really nice amp for beginners or for practicing.
Great sound for the money. I bought this to use as a practice amp at home. Very pleased and it looks good too.
Great looking little amp just too small for what needed with this 10w speaker. Build quality was great and retro
A great little amp for some basic practice! A nice cheap little amp that is perfect for what I want it for… just a nice little amp to practice. It’s a gorgeous style and looks really good. It goes quite loud for its size and has a few different options for your play style. Only downside is the lack of customisation with regards to the sound but I expected that from an amp of this price range. If you’re looking for something small and cheap to practice, you’ve found it.
Just what’s promised. It’s great for practicing and just for playing. The sound dies on the speaker if you connect headphones to it so ir makes it perfect for night or silent practice. It has a rich sound, very mouldable. You can go clean and easy or gritty and heavy. Definitely worth it, wether your a newbie or a pro!
I wanted a new practice amp for home, something that looked pretty. It delivers. Surprisingly — it belts out the volume. If you love that classic gain sound, or just a really good clean sound, you’d do well with this. I use a lot of effects, and I’m finding I have to tweak their programming a little to get them to sound just right.
Really good looking, and it was great value for money on my low budget. I would be very interested to see whether this would work live as the instructions say that the headphone/output has been designed to be very smooth in order that you can, and my days of lugging big amps to gigs are over and I’d like to try this.
