Little Yet Loud
Perfect for home
The Pathfinder 10âs powerful yet always tone-filled 10-Watt output, makes this amp perfect for home practice, backstage warm-up and recording. The Clean/Overdrive switch allows you to change instantly between clean and dirty sounds. With a mere press of this switch you can go from a crystal clear clean sound to our uniquely warm distortion; or from a slightly crunchy bluesy tone to a high-gain, modern-rock roar.
TOP PANEL FEATURES
Input Jacks. This, believe it or not, is where you plug your guitar into the amp!
Gain Control. This adjusts the overall preamp gain of the amplifier. This control can produce a wide variety of killer tones – from clean to crunchy to crazy and all points in-between! What you get all depends on how you set this control and also how you have the Clean/Overdrive Switch (3) set. In both Switch modes – Clean & Overdrive – turning the Gain control down (i.e. counter clockwise) will clean up your sound while cranking it up (i.e. turning it clockwise) will dirty things up. The possibilities are endless.
Clean/Overdrive Switch. As its name suggests, this switch puts the preamp of the Pathfinder 10 in one of two distinctly different modes -Clean (switch “out”) or Overdrive (switch “in”). And, as you’d expect, the Overdrive mode has bags more gain than the Clean mode. So, if you want more gain just press this button in and let rip!
Treble Control. This adjusts the treble (high) frequencies in your tone. It can take your sound from soft and round, to bright and cutting, and any point in-between.
Bass Control. This adjusts the bass (low) frequencies in your tone. It can take your sound from warm and light, to dark and heavy and any point in-between.
Volume Control. This determines the overall volume of the amplifier. Setting this control high while keeping the Gain low works well for clean sounds (HINT: make sure the Clean/Overdrive Switch is “out” if you wanna go clean!), while setting the Master Volume lower, engaging the Overdrive mode and turning up the Gain will give you a fat, distorted sound at a lower, “bedroom friendly” volume.
Headphone/Line Out Jack. This dual output carries a specially filtered signal for use with either headphones or for direct connection to a soundboard or recording console. The LINE OUT gives you a good sounding signal for recording or live work without having to mic up the amp. Inserting a jack-plug into this jack will mute the internal speaker.
Power ON/OFF Switch & LED. On/Off switch for mains (AC) power to amplifier. Plus power indicator LED.

Really good little practise amp and loud enough to fill a room or garage!
Great looks, awesome sound, ripping gain and distortion this is a quality amp in all aspects, if your thinking about getting this and are comparing it to others, then just stop, this is amazing ! sounds awesome on electric and acoustic with really great presence, treat yourself, youll thank me later 🙂
Bought this for home recording and with Boss effects it makes my strat sound gorgeous. Love it to bits.
Won’t come under verified purchase as I ordered through someone else but I was choosing between marshall, fender and vox practice amps and this stood out in sound quality. Very pleased.
This is a great amp, covering a lot of ground… The cleans are really pristine and the dirt goes from blues to modern metal. The only thing to bear in mind is that there is no middle control, it’s only high and low eq. In the end though, I traded mine in for the Orange Crush 12, which is also a good amp.. Though slightly more expensive.
Sound and volume excellent. Easy to use for newby. Light & small enough to be portable. Looks fab daughter was delighted!
I wanted a good quality home amp with few frills.this is a solidly constructed amp with good sound.i can use pedals if i need other sounds
Just what I wanted for a practice amp. As usual impressed by the delivery, if only our governments were as efficient.
Good quality build.Nice tones.Delighted.Arrived ahead of schedule.Well packed.
This is a fantastic little amp and for the price, it’s almost unbelievable. Firstly the build quality is spot on – nice feel to everything including the knobs, switches and handle. The look is great – just the right balance of retro 60/70’s cool and modern finishing.
Most importantly it sounds great. Clear when not in overdrive and punchy for such a small enclosure. Play with the gain and you can get some old style distortion and a fair bit of volume. In fact, it sounds far louder than I ever expected for its rated 10W.
Hard to imagine what you could do to improve it without adding significantly to the cost.
This is an amazing sounding amp!! If you’re just after a small home amp to quickly practise with then this is exactly what you need.
Loud! great clean sound! I use bass and guitar through it. looks good too!
Great value for money. Nice quality looking and the sound fills any room in the home.
It’s a lovely little starter / practice amp. I use with a chorus pedal and it sounds great. I reccommend for people starting out who want something slightly more mid-range in price rather than a cheap one.
Can’t go too wrong with Vox Amps really. They’re a great brand of amp and they’ve been around for decades. This is a good little practice amp for the home. Has that great vintage type look too.
Quick delivery but the product’s own box was a bit warn and battered, although item itself was fine.
Such a great sound. Keeps me coming back. Consistent with my bigger amp that now lives at church, because the Pathfinder rocks!
Love this little amp…for such a small internal speaker, this little baby packs a punch either in the clean or distorted settings. Wasn’t expecting such a good sound for a little practice amp. Great value!
Delivered in great condition and on time – love the amp – thanks
Love it just love it …great sound and loud enough for large room.Hardly need volume up.
Bought this for my brother 3 years ago and it’s still sounding good
Fantastic amp for home practice. Enough to fill a room. Works well with my pedal board. Not the loudest in the world but with the gain cranked up a bit it’s perfect for practice.
Good for home use and as a pathway amp for guitarists. Good quality, Well made, Happy customer!
Amazing little amp for the price. I bought on Amazon back order at a discount price but had to wait for it. Funny it actually was delivered a couple of days later. Amp is rated at 10 watts but sounds way louder, and has headphone line out. Very well made and looks and sounds the biz.
Now, I have to be honest here, I bought this because it would fit in my cabin baggage when flying on Ryanair. I can lay it face down in the case and fill it with clothes as it’s an open backed cabinet, thus allowing me to take a combo on holiday with my Telecasters in a twin gig bag and their own seat booked (yes, we are talking Ryanair here).
So, in other words, I was looking for convenience not an actually fantastic amp. Which is what this is by the way. Way better than it should be at this price – it takes pedals well too. Stick a booster pedal like an All-Spark in front of it and a TS type pedal plus a reverb and you have a fantastic range of sounds.
I wouldn’t recommend modding this amp if you want to keep your warranty, but if you were to, say follow one of the key easy mods you can do, then you might find you have a rather louder amp than it started out. I also obviously wouldn’t add an 8″ speaker, because you have to actually chisel away some of the inside of the cabinet to find it will accomodate an 8″ speaker which gives you a huge boost in sound quality. I wouldn’t recommend doing any of these things for warranty reasons and safety reasons if you don’t know what you’re doing.
In short, this is a magnificent amp, a wolf in a mouse’s clothing. Classic Vox cleans, classic Vox crunch. And at this price you can buy it and just enjoy the hell out of it.
Compact and stylish amp with vintage looks.
The tone is great on both clean and overdrive, reacting to both volume and strumming style.
For its size it’s more than loud enough for home practice thanks to the 8in speaker. Realistically you could easily gig with this at a small venue.
I have been toying with the idea of getting a little digital practice amp for a while now. Up until recently I’ve been running a Gibson SG through a Laney VC30. I moved recently and its now simply not practical or fair to use the Laney due to the fact it’s so loud. I’ve had numerous amps in the past including a 40watt digital Marshal and wasn’t keen on the idea of going back to that sort of gear again. Forgive me for sounding snobby, but after using a valve amp for 14 years I had become accustomed to that level of sound quality.
I watched and listened to numerous reviews and the Vox Pathfinder kept coming up and being mentioned as a hot pick. Sure others got mentioned and praised, but these were mainly for having more mods than you could imagine. I’m sure they featured good sounding mods, but the Vox kept getting thrown into the mix even though it only had a clean and a gain channel. The reason being those two sounds were that damn good.
I’d rather have some thing that does two things very well than hundreds of things to an acceptable level. With that in mind I bagged one. Upon trying it out I have to say I was blown away. Not by the level as its a very social and manageable output, but by how vibrant and lovely the clean channel was. This thing certainly exceeded my expectations on the clean channel and my SG sounded lovely through it. I have heard numerous solid state amps from all different companies and the sound they throw out seems rather dead to my ears. This thing however had a definite lively chime to it’s tone.
So onto the gain channel. Now I have heard some people say the gain on this amp is not up to much, where others like it. I fall into the latter. I love a bit of AC DC snarl rather than full on Death Metal so I find the gain more than enough for me. I have a Ibanez Tube Screamer for the sort of growl I like best and I will give it a go at some point, but I have to say the gain on this is ok. Play a full chord and you will get the distortion, but it didn’t then break up into a messy mix of fuzzy buzzing and general rubbish fluffy hiss I remembered all my old digital solid states doing, even the Marshal 40 watt did it and needed a good overdrive pedal to get a half decent snarl from it . On this baby the bite remained as the sound rang out. Damn, that put a smile on my face.
If you like playing Blues, Jazz, Vintage Rock n’ Roll (especially that 60 Brit sound, but hey it’s a Vox after all) or Hard Rock this little amp will serve you extremely well. If you want to hammer out your own cover of Slayer’s Reign in Blood, you need to look else where.
If you are wondering on if you can gig with it?…………..Yes you can, providing the venue of your gig is your front room. But that’s exactly what I was after in the first place.
I’d say this is a perfect amp for beginners as the cost of it belies it’s sound quality so people starting up would be laying their hands on a quality amp rather than some of the dogs I remembered when I started up. It’s also simple to use so anyone can play around with the controls to find their own sweet spot.
It’s also great for people who already have gear but want a quality little practise amp that won’t disturb the neighbours and will still do justice to a professional level guitar. Don’t even get me started on the price. It’s insanely low for this sort of quality.
As a result of getting this amp, if anything happens to my Laney in future I will be looking at replacing it with a Vox AC30. I’m a convert.
Terrific value for the money. Worth sixty quid just for its appearance!
I love this amp. Even before you plug it in, it oozes quality. The you plug your guitar into it and it just comes alive. From crunching metal to 50’s rock and roll, it just handles it all and still has more to give. Worth every penny and more. It’s so much more than just ‘a practice amp’.
The venerable old AC30 is a bit high maintenance for occasional spare bedroom ‘music room’ duties these days and could ideally do with some rather expensive TLC that I really can’t justify. Can’t bring myself to sell it after 35 years though, so as it slips into a predominantly aesthetic semi-retirement, enter my new Pathfinder 10. It really looks the part sitting just above it’s big brother. Plug it in and there’s a clear family sound, a decent kick for a bedroom amp and that trademark warm creamy sound. You can even ape overdrive without rattling the windows, although I will say that balancing the volume and gain to get the right combinations is a bit fiddly. But for 60? Come on; it’s a steal!
Amazing value for money, looks very smart and is pretty powerful!
This is still my only amp but I haven’t used it in more than a practise setting. It is pretty much identical, operational and physically from the time I first played it in 2012 to today in 2017.
The clean channel has good control over volume using mainly gain which gives it some warmth and is perfect for a Fender/Squier and sounds especially nice with delay. It is also remarkably loud when accompanied with a Jackhammer, producing a range of tones from blues to metal with relative comfort. I imagine a Tubescreamer would be a better pair.
I rarely change the bass and treble knobs due to a lot of controls on my guitar but they do bring some versatility to this amp. It does emphasise bassier tones like early Clapton and Hendrix quite nicely when set correctly.
Yeah it’s pretty good and probably the best amp at this price.
This mini practice amp/speaker combo is surprisingly kicking and punchy for such a little box.
It’s loud enough to fill a small-medium sized room at home e.g. to learn new guitar tracks, play around with a home recording studio or computer based video tutorial through a moderate music system.
Can’t really fault it for what it’s designed to do.
A touch of Vox quality at 60. 🙂
I’m a new player and bought this to use with my Epiphone Les Paul 100. It sounds lovely and feels like a quality item. Even my wife thinks it looks great, especially the embroidered cover – which is why it’s allowed to live in our dining room.
60 – 60 for a cracking little amp that for 60, does have that Vox sound.
60 for a small amp that is so deceptively loud that I cannot get above half way on the volume in my home studio for fear of getting complaints from the neighbours let alone my wife.
60 for something that looks so retro cool you could not bother amplifying a guitar and use it for 60 worth of very cool furniture and it would still be good value.
Did I mention … This is just 60.
Love it.
Actually it’s not even 60.
You get change for a penny chew.
This little vox pathfinder 10 watt is brilliant for a bedroom amp to practice on at home the clean channel is sweet I use this a lot with my 330 Rickenbacker guitar fender strat and tele works well with pedals too I had a orange crush amp before this and it broke within the year.
For the money you can’t get a better amp without buying tubes or valves .
I bought this amp for home use, the 10 watts is perfect, the 6.5 speaker is surprisingly good and by far the best small speaker I have tried but I connected the amp up to a 10″ speaker cab (a little work involved) and now it is great, I have tried several amps and this is the best for me as I only want good clean sounds. The overdrive is what you would expect but I don’t use it.
Very good tone on the clean channel. I have even achieved a satisfactory “jazz” tone with my Fender tele.
On the dirty channel, again a good range of tones and it sounds a lot louder than 10 watts!
Great for the price. I mainly use Marshall valve amps and bought this as a practice amp. Great sounding clean channel especially when you put a reverb pedal in front of it. The drive setting in my opinion is pretty much unusable. You buy this type of amp though for jangly guitar sounds which this delivers in spades
This amp is noiseless af. By which I mean all you hear coming through the speaker is what you want to hear – no background hum. Haven’t turned it up as loud as it will go as I bought it for playing in a small flat, so can’t say whether it would compete with a drummer or not, but the sound quality is great.
Looks great and sounds great…for not much money! Well recommended!
1st class sound and not too large. Ideal all rounder for a first electric guitar player.
I had other brand name amps, But this amp is the best one ever if you want to buy a amp buy this one its great do loads of things with it. I have another amp but its been made redundant now. All round a really good product.
Was for my son, he is happy with it, vet loud.
Believe the hype!!! I havnt seen a bad review of this amp so I puchased without any hesitation, I was not dissapointed….
Good enough for the Beatles good enough for me. Ideal for around the house, easily stored, plenty of depth to the sound. It makes me sound quite good and the Gibson helps.
I was delighted with this amp ! Astounding quality ! I really do not know how, or even why, Vox are selling this superb amp for such a small price ! It looks and sounds magnificent !!!!
Great amplifier, simple solid state, compact with great tone, no nonsense ,VOX styling makes it even nicer, couldn’t ask for more great bargai
Everything arrived as described and on time amp is brilliant for home use.
I am amazed at the quality of this amp for the price point. The10 W power is more than enough to fill even the largest room in the house. Plenty of control with O/drive and adjustable gain. This amp has output for phones and line out for other devises. For sure the more expensive amps my well provide better performance, but at this price as a practice amp then this VOX unit is absolutely great.
On top of what seems to be impressive performance the look is fantastic with a high quality classic retro look. The unit is perhaps a little larger than some practice amps but there is storage in the back of the unit for a 5 mtr cable and the power chord/plug.
Overall tremendous performance, value and quality and for what you pay I say it is a steal!
Really good value for price. The amp is well made, sound is brilliant, really good if you live in a flat and you want to practice.
Great little amplifier, plenty loud enough and a nice design. Well packaged and in perfect condition on arrival. Perfect practice amp at a good price. Pleased.
brilliant amp everything vox claimed it would be !! thank you vox.
I bought this to keep in my office for lunch-time practising. It’s ideal for that and of course would also be ideal for home-use for a beginner at least. Very impressive little twin-channel thing here for such a small modest amp – clean is clean then switch to overdrive and prepare to be overdriven – ideal for showing a novice what twin-channel amps do, so a good beginner’s amp too.
A nice sound from a practice amp along with the quality I’ve always found from Vox
I own a Marshall JCM800 head & cab and wanted something a little quieter to play at sensible volume so as not to annoy my wife and kids, but also had a good enough clean/distorted sound too.
This little Vox didn’t disappoint, it has a nice clean sound for when I want to lose myself in a wall of delay and loops but also enough gain to crank up and bust out a bit of chug when I’m feeling like playing ‘War Ensemble’ ha
Rad little amp for the price and size, proper pleased with this badboy.
Neat little practice combo …good looking just like you’ve learned to expect from the VOX name…Nice to use for testing new gear…gives especially crystal sound on’ high end clean’…..highly recommended for all levels of player!
eally pleased with this amp. has some very good tones and is quite loud enough for practice with a band. the standard delivery was amazingly quick and the condition on arrival was fine.
Dead good bit of kit for the money, quick delivery, many thanks
Brilliant little amp, lets you play in almost any genre you throw at it. The clean sound has a warmth that’s perfect for the blues, and with the bass cranked all the way up, you can easily play hard rock on this thing. If you want a deep, dark sound (i.e. to play with in C Standard), I’d recommend doing what I do and getting a distortion pedal.
For almost everything other than heavy metal though, perfect, and really loud for such a little thing. Perfect for practicing at home and jamming with another guitarist or two, but a drum kit would still beat it into the ground.
Good things really do come in small packages. I have been really impressed by both the tones and volume offered by this little amp. I did wonder if the lack of a ‘mid’ control would limit the tonal range, but this has not been the case. I play a Shergold Masquerader and an Alden Colonel, both very different types of guitar, the Shergold being more for rock and the Alden more for jazz. The Vox delivers really pleasing tones for both, the overdrive and ‘gain’ control being particularly useful for the Shergold. Volume is more than adequate for practicing and more than enough to annoy the neighbours! I think possibly you could even use it in a small hall. The amp is well built, sturdy but not too heavy and really lives up to the Vox name, even if it is not built in the UK. I love the chicken knobs and the classic Vox look, everything about it just says ‘quality’. Complaints? Some might find the lack of reverb and an input for an iPod an issue. But my effects pedal takes care of the reverb and for 50, what do you want? I would definitely recommend this great amp to other guitarists.
I am very pleased with this amp it great as a practice amp for a small room with a nice tone
A well-made (Vietnam) mini Vox AC30 style ten watt practice amp. No effects but what do you expect for less than 50 quid! Good clean channel but even better when overdrive selected. Dial in some gain and a pair of humbuckers and it really does rock. You even get the valve amp hum from what is a solid-state amp. This means I don’t have to lug around a big combo, if I don’t want to. Comes with the trademark ‘chickenhead’ control knobs. There are a surprising number of sounds to be discovered in there after a bit of twiddling. Much better than I expected and well packed too. What more could you want from a practice amp ?
I bought this for my 7 year old son to use with his first guitar. It is very simple and has 2 settings ( clean and overdrive ). The sound is great, especially the overdrive, which has a lovely crunch. It also looks great. He loves it!!
I’m sure my son will love this. But it is for a Christmas present so who knows?
great amp for the price nice clean sound really comes to life when you put the overdrive on I would say the volume controls are a bit weird its ridiculously loud with the overdrive on if you’ve got a tight budget get this and the effects pedal of your choice you wont be disapointed
Only had this amp a few weeks and totally impressed with the sound quality!bought it with my first electric guitar and glad I did and not a package deal with the encore e99,because this is a quality practice amp for the money.
Great sounds to explore with the gain and the fuzz button!
A classic amp. So impressed with the sound quality. Looks really good too.
Order came earlier then it supposed to. Good packaging, everything was on the place. Good quality build.
The unit came with standard UK plug. First time I used it, I was a bit confused with Gain and Volume gauges. In clean mode Gain works as volume.
The VOX Pathfinder produces very nice and warm sound.
It’s wattage and size are ideal for a home practice.
It has also line out output, so you can plug in your earphones for late night practice.
I would recommend to my friends.
Its a Vox. What do you expect? Fantastic for home use. Its got me back to playing my guitars again.
Vox was the first Amp I remember seeing when the Beatles played 1963 Royal Command Performance and their big Vox Amps Big LOGO!
Sadly the American plug put UK/European customers in a moral and practicle dilema. One that Amazon should be protecting us from. If we cut the plug off of this cable we are in breach of the product gaurantee. It is considered ‘Modifying’ the item. 2 nd. As far as I can tell selling a non approved elctrical item for use in UK that has a non approved plug puts Amazon in the dock as its illegal to sell non approved electrical goods, and although the amp may conform the plug does not. That puts them in breach of customer protection act etc or what ever it’s called these days. So either way send it back!
Simply does what it says it does. Reliable grungy practice gear. Good value.
Nice looking amp gives a good loud sound well worth the money highly recommend this item.
what can you say the name say it for you stll the best and was here in a day 10 out of 10 for this seller to
Fantastic amp for the money. It’s loud for something so small, has excellent tone, versatile and very portable. It also looks great and reminds me of the AC30 Treble Boost I had back in the 70s. Tree cheers for Vox quality and value.
I think this is a top little amp. The volume is loud enough that you don’t even need to approach hallway for practise at home, and the different tones you can get from it, are class. Well worth the money IMO.
I had a much larger 80watts amp which was tricky to get it to sound right, it seemed to have too many knobs. This amp is so easy to get a good sound from. I am an absolute beginner and using an epiphone les paul. This is now small enough to live hidden in the living room. Looks good as well.
Amazing volume from this little beauty. Was fed up having and old Westwood amp cluttering up the house – when I spotted this. It’s nice size and so powerful. Playing a Yamaha electro-acoustic thru it.
you can’t ask for more out of a 10w amp. Its looks amazing and sounds like a vox amp should – the bass version is also amazing
Brilliant little amp good build quality and sound from such a small amp. Tones emitted from this are very good just need a bit of fiddling about with settings but that’s the joy of guitar amps. Overall, price wise this was a steal, build quality excellent , sound awesome. 10/10 would reccomend for beginners and intermediate guitar players.
Excellent little practise amp with enough power to play at home and enough features to experiment with. This is just a raw amp with a quality bulldog speaker with no extra models or effects (which is exactly what I was looking for). This allows you to work on your rig without relying on any built-in rubbish which often ends up as a distraction I find. It’s loud enough and the overdrive mode allows you to switch between both of Vox’s signature British sounds everyone loves. Worth 55 of anyone’s money.
Good clean sound, distortion sound is rather extreme but that was to be reckoned with. After all this is nice and light-weight amp well worth its price.
Wanted one for a while, just as a fun, practice amp, then saw it was coming up on a Black Friday deal for 34.99 delivered. Had to have it. Bought it. Love it. What’s not to love? 34.99 for a great sounding, well built, portable, good looking Vox amplifier! I’d struggle to find anything bad to say about this amp even at the original retail price of around 50.
I bought this to plug my Brian May guitar and treble booster into, crank it and pretend I’m on top of Buckingham Palace, all without upsetting the neighbours. OK, it isn’t a wall of Vox AC30s, but it produces some great, convincing Brian May tones, all more than acceptable for bedroom practice, small jams and generally messing about. It gets you as close as most people need to get to ‘that’ sound, and for 34.99 i.e. a night out or three drinks in London…
Great amp, great bargain, just great.
Excellent piece of kit. If you need a small amp you’d be hard pressed to find better.
Wanted a small practice amp, good warm sound comes from this little driver and I’m happy with it.
its an excellent practice amp, very well built, solid and has a wonderful tone. very please with this purchase
Great practice amp, very portable and great sound for not a lot of dosh.
I’ve had a couple of practice amps. And for a practice amp this is very good. Nice tone. Obviously there are limitations with a practice amp but for what it is, it is wonderful and I have been using it at University for practice. You can use headphones to keep the noise down.
Was looking forward to getting this up after reading reviews, we’ll, I am glad I did, having owned Marshall mg practice amps and fender, I can say without doubt, I like this amp the most, I dialed in a sweet bluesy tone within seconds, clean, rock, all here, buy with confidence, you won’t be dissapointed
Really good sound, loud for its size. Good mobility due to small size and light weight.
Also looks like a VOX!
I gave it 4 only because I haven’t used it yet…..the quality feel of it..it’s got to be good..innit !
The amp is about the same size as a small school bag . It’s quite good value . It does not come with a guitar lead though !
Super amp. Use it along with a Roland gr55 synth. Has all the basic requirements, looks super, cabinet made of wood, giving it weight, beats plastic any day.
As a guitarist of many years I have used many amps for practice and live performances. Although this little Vox is classed as a practice amp when miked up correctly this amp will deliver great sounds in a small to medium live venue. A good sound engineer using the right EQ can make you sound great.
What a great little amp this is, looks just like an old AC30,fell in love with it straight away. I’m pleased to say it sounds as good as it looks.
Roya
Amp build quality is excellent – constructed with same standards as more expensive ‘full size’ amps I own. Range of sounds from such a basic amp is amazing in both clean and overdrive channels. I would imagine most guitar styles would be catered for, but especially good for rock / blues – as you would imagine with a Vox amp.
I actually bought this in error as I meant to buy the Bass version. I decided to give it a twang and couldn’t believe the sounds I was getting out of it. A totally brilliant little amp punching well above it’s weight. No way was I sending it back….. GET ONE!!!!!!
This guitar amplifier is really compact and small but its sound is great. It’s a perfect partner while practicing, loud enough to wake up your neighbors if you want to. The sound you get from both clean and over channels is absolutely British (perfect for bands from the British Invasion). It’s cheap, but it’s amazing how can it sounds. You could never use this amp in a live show, that’s not its purpose, because it hasn’t effects or pedal connection, it’s just a jamming session amp to use peacefully inside your room, with or without wearing earphones, enjoying yourself while practice those chords over and over. I love it. Cheaper than a Marshall, not so plastic, wich I think is better for my Les Paul Custom.
No need to argue, Vox is one of the best guitar amplifier manufacturers in the world. You can just ask the musician legends, using it from ’60 everywhere in the world. And this small copy of all those famous bigger brothers works great as well.
The grill cloth is cool, it looks like a mini Vox AC-30. Chicken knobs are very comfortable to use and gives quite good precision. The construction of the cabinet is pretty solid, made of real wood. Not too heavy, very easy to carry. It is not noisy at all, the clean channel sounds impressive, very close to tube amp sound. Overdrive is not bad, however you can use any stomp box overdrive or distortion instead. Quality of the speaker is decent, 10 watts is enough for home practising, quite loud. In my opinion it is the best practising amp in this price range.
I was surprised at how well this little amp performs. Obviously at 10W its not the loudest of amps, but it will fill a room with sound easily. The most important (and surprising) thing about the amp is how it sounds, and for being so small this sounds great, even the overdrive is pretty damn good. I would recommend this amp for any beginner or anyone just looking for a small practice amp.
