I love my a Christmas decorations and always wanted a “moving” rope light to add to my collection, and for just over 30 at time of purchase I thought was excellent value for money.
The first thing I noticed is the size. This is quite large so represents good value. The figure seems to be ever so slightly different from the lead image in this Amazon listing, however if you scroll through the various different images it would seem there are two slightly different variations. The lead image shows Santa on the left with his arm outstretched to the right and the one I received is more like the second image i.e. Santa on the right with his hand outstretched to the left. (Not a big issue but just something to be mindful of) also, I have noticed that the manufacturers have “filled in” some of the areas with a thin wire mesh: the bobble on the end of his hat and the fur trim around it, his mouth, and finally his sack. I am pleased with this as it gives the whole thing a touch of refinement and adds to it. This meshing isn’t immediately obvious on some of the pictures, and again there would seem to be 2 slightly different variations available as it is shown on some of the other images.
There is a fairly generous 3 m of black cable from the unit to the plug, so you do have to be relatively close to a plug socket, or alternatively use an extension lead but then you need to make sure that if the connection is outdoors then it is waterproof. The cable however is quite thick and it isn’t the flat white wire that seems to accompany many lights these days, but it is a thick black cable so you will have difficulty getting this through a UPVC window or door frame and then closing the it.
There are a number of different settings to alter the speed at which Santa waves his hand, to be honest you will only use setting two or three, because settings 5 to 6 are just so fast it’s mental. Slightly irritating is that the first setting is simply on with no flashing/waving, but rather than just have one hand illuminated ALL lights are on so it looks like Santa has two hands – poor planning but let’s be honest-you’re not going to buy waving Santa and then have it not waving are you?
There is a thin wire stand on the back that you can extend so you can prop it up in your garden, however if you do that you are going to need to stake it down or weight it down with bricks as it is quite flimsy and will need additional support, however, this does make it easier if you go for the wall hanging option, as it means the whole thing can sit flat against the wall and all hang on one decent sized hook or screw.
In summary I am thrilled with this I would highly recommend it.

Looks very good indeed, you can control the waving speed. Very bright and half price, an absolute bargain.

For the money you can’t fault it. It has three speed settings for waving the hand (although one is so fast it looks crazy!).
Works well, looks good and is bright. Very good value for money.
I used mine outside hung on a fence but it has a stand if you want to just have it on its own (although you’ll need to use the tent peg included otherwise it could blow over).

It looks beautiful on top of Baby Jesus in crib.

Had one of these for many years. Needed replacing and this one is the same. Very good quality.

Great service just don’t feel it was worth the money

Cheaply made and quite small, hangs slightly off centre but great fun and worked all Christmas.
