Love this air ratchet, but wish it had a lever instead of a button. And it a little hard to press.
If you want torque to remove stubborn bolts in the 3/8″ drive range this is it. Very powerful and built with quality. Proud to keep this in my tool box. What can I say, it’s an Ingersoll Rand. Top quality & above all others.
Use mine mainly for bench work.Probably not necessary but handy to have. For the guy who has everything. : )
I purchased two ratchets, a 1/4″ and 3/8″ drive to replace some harbor freight ratchets that my kids bought me for Christmas. Needless to say the harbor freight tools didn’t last. First off there is a big difference in build quality. These tools look professional. The pneumatic drive is much smoother and both ratchets have more torque than what I was previously using. I have a side business working on cars and both ratchets get used a lot. So far no issues and I expect that I will have them for a long time.
Its strong but consider buying swivel adapter with it because air hose can get in the way and watch your fingers cause itll smash them if your not careful overall worth the money even if you have a cordless just in case as a backup or for everyday use
I have had this tool for a while now and use it fairly often. I look after my tools so I oil it and care for it.
I think it is good and better than average.
The sleeve that reverses the ratchet (tighten and loosen bolts) is ok but could have a nicer detent.
I thought that the plastic outer might have been fragile however it has held up well.
It has plenty of power for a 3/8 drive and along with the adjustable speed/power is really handy.
Like other reviewers I would say it is a bit bulky but it’s ok to use.
I am guessing I may have this as long as my CP drive which I have had for over 20 years ? who knows ! maybe ?
Would I recommend, in one word, Yep.
Excellent and easy way to grease hard to reach spots on my trimmer.
This thing is nice. Spins way faster than I expected. Plenty of torque for a 1/4 inch drive tool. I got this primarily for 10mm bolts where my cordless driver doesn’t fit and I can fit more than just a hand ratchet. My only complaint is I wish the adjustable torque went a little lower. This thing, even on minimum, will occasionally strip threads when tightening a short 10mm bolt. Definitely gotta be careful.
Ingersoll Rand makes a quality product, being a heavy duty truck technician for over 45 years I’ve used many brands and few brands match Ingersoll Rand products for value
Replacement for an identical ratchet that lasted 12 years of professional use. Hope this one stands up as well.
I’ve been using Ingersoll Rand products for over twenty years and never had a problem… very reliable tools…
This is the perfect little wrench to get into tight areas on vehicles.
ya just can’t go wrong with Ingersoll Rand. Every time you can expect a great tool and to work like expected
Great size good torque and speed for a small uni
It’s good but not real powerful the forward and reverse switch is a collar kind of combersome
I have had other air 1/4 inch ratchets…didn’t last long…this Ingersoll rand ratchet is very quite and powerful enough…
My air tools are working great thanks to this grease gun.
Tool is durable and gets the job done. The moveable exhaust is nice. Sucker is loud as heck and torques like nobody’s business.
Don’t waste your money on the cheaper brands. This holds up great with plenty of torque.
I’m speaking as a daily professional user. Probably owned at least 8 different air ratchets varying in price from 20 to 350 bucks. I’ve owned super cheapos to reactionless, impact ratchets and the snap-on big dog. I’ve always great experiences with Ingersoll air tools I’ve owned. I bought a no name lime green cheapie that worked once and locked up the next time I tried using it. Luckily I was able to return it. I need a reliable quality tool and bought this ratchet as my primary. After reading reviews I decided to add my own. I bought it for daily professional use. It works perfectly. I was surprised to see complaints about loudness because the cheapie was way louder than this one. The Noise level is actually quieter than I expected and I like to be able to rotate the mid mounted exhaust defuser so it blows away from my face or doesn’t blow on dusty parts like brake calipers. Saved a few bucks by getting an open box unit. Here is my take on this IR ratchet.
1. Actually looks nice, if that matters to you. I like the tapered handle.
2. Noise level in my experience is below average for a pro air ratchet.
3. Torque and power are what I expect as a pro user.
4. Price vs quality is 5 out of 5.
5. Great balance between price, weight, torque and overall build quality.
Its quiet and powerful enough to get the job done, too much power means smashed knuckles anyway. Review written by a 25 year + mechanic
IR has never let me down they are a reliable work horse lol.they seem to out last snap on and mac tools
Works good… only complaint is the cheap way of screwing on the greaser… if you tighten it too much, you can strip the threads on the grease tube. Also, you have to squeeze the grease to the top to keep the grease coming out…. no issues with the oil other than that it leaks from the threads a little when on it’s side or squeezing out drops.
Can Lubricate my die grinders and air impact guns daily
Finding myself needing air ratchets again with different trucks our company uses this one is powerful and it won’t trap your hand with the butto
My item came today , fast delivery. No issues. Item as described. Same packaging and item I have bought for years and come to expect from Ingersoll products. Highly recommend
Love this air ratchet gets the job done heavy duty works great.
Watch your hand lmao. Shipping was fast. Great must have tool
It feels a little sturdier in my hand than I anticipated – a little bigger and heavier than I expected. Runs flawlessly, and looks great to boot. Only thing I had to do was run to the local hardware store to buy an air fitting before using it (it doesn’t come with one – I think I got a 1/4″ npt thread fitting).
im an ase master certified tech with 20+ years field experience. The one i just purchased is my 3rd one. They work great and the price is a great value. WAY cheaper than the tool truck. I abuse the heck out of it. Drops, laying on ground in water etc. I really dont take care of it, oil it every once and a while if i think about it. I have gotten about 5-7 years out of these. Could prob do better if you actually take care of it. The first one i had the gears in the body broke from me trying to loosen something that i should have used another tool for and the 2nd one the head just wore out. It still worked but there was too much play in the thing that rotates and the part that turns the gear in the head. just wear and tear. It’s a little loud. what i would consider to be average, but still quieter than the noisy snap on ones my coworkers use. When this one breaks ill buy another one.
