Twice As Powerful Two 20V Power Share batteries give this trimmer 40V for more power and run-time so you can get more done. This trimmer is designed for properties that have a lot of hedges, bushes and trees to trim. | Laser Cut Blade The 60cm laser cut blade ensures a precise cutting performance with high efficiency. | 180 Degree Rotating Handle Instead of turning the trimmer, and twisting your wrists and arms, the rear handle rotates so you can cut the sides of your shrubs much more easily. | Transparent Hand Guard So you can see exactly where you’re cutting while remaining protected from most of the flying debris. For safer, cleaner cuts. |
Great for keeping a hedge trimmed, does jam if you hit woody bits.
Used on farm hedges, and performed well. So quiet, and so light compared to my old petrol one.
Easy to use, well balanced, battery lasts long time easily cuts long hedge without recharge. Only issue really could be slightly more powerful can stall occasionally.
As soon as the batteries were fully charged I cut ther hedge in the front garden. It was a real pleasure not having to worry about cutting through any cables as with my last electric hedge trimmer. Once the hedge was trimmed in record time I went around the back of the house and shaped a tree that had been bugging me for months.
Both jobs finished and life left in the batteries. used it a few times now and still pleased with the results.
This the best of several items I have purchased over the last few years. I always envied council operatives with their petrol driven clippers.
This the equal and really does do the task in hand.
Its quite heavy so 15 mins a time best for me at 79 .
Cuts through our mature hedges with ease. Equally as good, if not better, than our mains hedge trimmer.
Battery life is good enough for about 50m of hedge.
Battery lasts long enough to cut the biggest hedges. Light to use and provided you look after blade maintenance it cuts very well, better than expected!
Brutally effective
Does a great heat job and never short if batteries as have work chainsaw and edger too!
Very good in all areas, lightweight, very good battery run time.
Gives the hedge a great finish.
Brilliant hedge cutter. Powerful and can cut thick branches. A little bit heavy but it’s good for young gardeners
Have held off reviewing until I’ve given this a good run for its money. Have used it multiple times now to tidy up small hedges and cut back larger conifers – battery is great, the tool is effective, really branches much thicker than I would have initially expected.
Probably not as powerful as a high-end petrol machine, but certainly not far off.
My hedge is native UK species, Beech, Copper Beech, Hornbeam, Hazel, Purple Hazel, Gelder Rose, English Dog Rose, Privet, Blackthorn, Hawthorn & Holly. It grows like crazy every year and gives a wonderful show of contrasting colours and flowers as well as some pretty thick stems that need trimming back to keep the whole hedge tight and compact at the end of each growing season. Every year I cut it with shears but this year I nought the Worx 60cm hedge cutter and boy oh boy am I glad I did. It went through it like the proverbial hot knife. After an hour of work the battery indicator still showed 3 out of the 4 green lights, another hour with hedge cut neatly it still showed 3 green lights. Very pleased with this item, would not hesitate to buy more Worx tools.
So much easier than having to route electricity cables through shrubs and bushes. Just as efficient as cabled hedge trimmers. Superb battery life and very easy handling.
Excellent, long reach with plenty of power ,and decent battery run time, I hesitated in favour of the single battery machine at first as it was cheaper but the reviews convinced me the 40volt was the one to have if you have a garden full of privet and shrubbs, ordered bare unit as already have worx drill and grinder battery’s and charger so it worked out a bit cheaper, it can get a bit heavy while using but I just stop for a rest now and again, to finish, highly recommended, as worx power tools are well made and reliable and worth the extra you pay for them, no regrets whatsoever from me in purchasing this hedgecutter.
Was slightly heavier than I thought but covered so much making it far quicke
Expected as a battery trimmer it would only tackle light work. Not the case. Robust and powerful trimmer.
My husband is very pleased with this very impressed with how long the battery lasts for quite a long time . Great would fully recommend to family and friends.
Impressive for a battery operated hedge trimmer, made light work of my mums 9 foot high 25 foot hedge and some shrubs with still showing 3 bars of power left.
Next day spent 5 hours in our own garden cutting back some rather large shrubs and it managed these with ease, again still showing power left, of I didn’t use it for 5 hours flat but still impressive.
Personally I found the weight ok, not light but still manageable with the two small 2ah batteries but if you put the 4ah batteries in then it starts to become a bit cumbersome but does give it more bite.
Wish I had bought this year’s ago light weight and the duel batteries means I can do all my hedges in one go
Not light but very powerful, cut through my 25 meters of privet hedge with no bother. Battery life easily coped but arms ached at by the end. However would recommend
Good solid item, qhite heave but robust and great cutting edge
Another amazing Worx product. This cuts through anything, even makes short work of medium sized branches! Easy to use, great battery life and good cutting power. Couldn’t be happier.
Cuts really well. Battery lasts up to 2 hours with on/off use.
Its quite a large tool, much bigger and heavier than expected.
Can be hard on the arms is using for big job.
I checked out all the reviews before buying this and wasn’t disappointed with the result. I have other Worx battery operated tools anyway and knew the quality of Worx products. I did several large bushes with this and it cut extremely well with still plenty of life left in the batteries.. So much easier than having a trailing power lead. Very happy indeed.
It did what it said on the box fantastic bit of kit I would recommend it to everyone thanks.
it is heavier than my old mains job – battery life is very good and cuts far better than my old one
Came next day wasn’t sure it would do my hedge in one go but did it with ease and 3 out of 5 lights left on the battery. Even cut through a real thick branch. So much quicker than petrol one as don’t have to keep starting, it’s lighter as well
I have cut a couple of long hedges with this trimmer. It is not as powerful as my petrol trimmer, but is much lighter and much easier to manoeuvre. You soon learn the trimmer’s limitations and adapt accordingly.
Battery life is good. There are two battery indicators on the top of the trimmer, which give accurate read outs.
I have a Worx strimmer with two Worx batteries and have them ready charged on stand by.
Overall, I have been very pleased with this hedge trimmer.
I have a very long and almost six foot high hedge. This trimmer enables me to cut it in less than half an hour. Excellent produc
Excellent hedge trimmer my only concern is that it is quite heavy compared with a n=mains powered item. This isn’t a concern at ground level but working from a ladder it can become difficult.
Easy to use, I trim a 15 meter hedge and have 30% battery power left, not as powerful as some electrical cutters but good enough and more of a plus Then negative !
I am so impressed with this that i purchased the chain saw and the strimmer. Excellent machine would highly recommend and very powerful, much better than my mains powered old hedge cutter.
quite power full not for kids
Much better than a corded electric
Best thing I have ever bought. Makes life much easier.
Great machine. But not sure if I should have gone for the 1 battery model.. used it a couple of times and it still jams if you try to cut anything bigger than the width of your little finger… so 25mm dia.. no chance…
Purchased after reading the review in Which magazine. I’ve had it for a number of weeks now and can’t fault it. Battery life is exceptional, and power is off the scale allowing me to cut through thick branches like a knife through butter. Best hedge cutter I’ve owned.
First time i used this the batteries didn’t last long despite a full charge but after another charge i was able to do full hedge on a single charge easily this is common for worx tools.
Cuts through surprisingly thick branches and has a great reach the swivel handle is a great help simple to assemble and well balanced comes with 2x batteries and dual charger recommended
Good size for cordless and powerful much easier to use with no power lead
Loved these products. Live on smallholding. I do the outside jobs. Husband has proper job. Rely on them. Been very happy, BUT DON’T EXPECT ANY HELP IF THEY GO TITS UP!!!
This is amazing, as goos as any petrol hedgecutter but without the hassle of petrol, oil etc. Lightweight, I opted for 2 6amp batteries and these just keep going maybe 3 hours run time possibly more
Just as good as a petrol one if not better, more than enough battery life for what I need, light and easy to handle.
Used this for the first time and so easy ! Lightweight in comparison to my old petrol cutte
This is a very powerful hedge trimmer that will zip through even the thickest of growth. The twist handle facility is good for cutting the side of hedges. Battery life is very good.
I like the idea of the interchangeable batteries with Worx equipment, makes buying other tools a bit cheaper.
Brilliant hedge trimmer, cuts fairly thick stuff at full charge, but struggles as battery life is at its lowest, its good for 40 mins easily continuel cutting… The blades are really sharp… And very long.. And because you can use the battery in other worx products.. Would recommend this to anyone thinking of buying a hedge trimmer.
Made short work of my overgrown hedges, cutting through some pretty substantial branches. Great if you’re already invested in the Worx ecosystem, the 2ah batteries are enough to run this machine well, the 4ah and higher made it a little too heavy for me to be comfortable for long term use.
I would definitely recommend this product.
Got this yesterday cut 20 feet of hedge all round in one hour ( took longer to clear up )
Battery’s was full when started only one 1/3 power used its a great hedge cutte
This machine will get through all sorts of easy and not so easy hedge types. Battery life is some 20 minutes running. I am a convert also having a grass strimmer and power drill. For the batteries and charger I bought the drill with 2 x 20v batteries and a one hour charger. Cost me just 10 more than buying the batteries and charger separately and I have a very nice drill as well!
I can’t comment on the single battery trimmer, but this double battery model actually surprised me. It cut a lot better than I expected, and cut every bit as good as my old mains powered trimmer. Now I generally only trim my hedge two or three times a year, and my hedge is around half the border of a 1,300 square foot garden, so for me I think it’ll do the job for years. I’ve only used it twice and both times the batteries managed constant use for 20+ minutes.
Build quality is decent and its really easy to use, but it does start to feel a bit heavy near the end of doing the hedge.
Worth it if you’ve already got a few worx tools and a collection of batteries.
Also the thickness of branch it will cut is the greatest I have had on a cordless trimmer, it only stalled once. The only way my job could of been better is if I had a work platform so I could reach the top at the back rather than using my pole hedge trimmer.
Great hedge trimmer for medium and large hedges.
Started knocking after a couple of bigger twigs, but still worx fine
The new machine is an absolute pleasure to use, I finished the bay tree in record time and went round the garden looking for more things to trim. Fast, safe, comfortable, I really cannot say enough about this great tool. Richard
Still, one has to smile and carry on.
First off, this falls into the ‘mid range’ of power tools. By that you are well away from the junk that is for all intents bin ballast but you know you have got a tool built to a price. That is not to say its a bad tool. Actually the overall quality is pretty reasonable. In price terms Worx seem to be competing with Ryobi and whilst Ryobi sometimes gets knocked by on line videos, honestly I’ve absolutely ragged my stuff over the last seven years rebuilding a house and exending it. I’ve even got some of the original batteries with seven years near continual use out of them, so given Worx is similar in price and range, probably will last better than one might expect.
Open the box and there is a small amount of fitting up with teh handle and guard to fix into place. They do feel a bit flimsy especially the wobbly guard, but unless you are a bit of a gorilla, chances are they will be fine.
It takes two batteries – which is of course the issue with all these tools. Once you pick a tool and stump up for the battery then you will be locked in. Tools are almost a loss leader in that respect because the real wedge is in the battery packs that every so often get more powerful and which tempt you to upgrade.
In use it’s fine. By that I mean it cuts well and lasts long enough to make a decent job of a modest garden hedge. That’ll be the two batteries then. I did have a look at online reviews of the single battery machine and by and large it seemed just about good enough to trim your overgrown armpits. This one has addressed it by doubling the battery supply.
With the commensurate doubling of the costs…
Weight is not bad. The tool without the batteries is fairly lightweight but once you jam a couple of decent power packs in there the weight is upped enough for you to notice it. It’s heavier than an equivalent mains one, for sure.
The selling point of these is the freedom from the mains and the cord that gets tangled around the garden with the inevitable cutting of it at some point. Don’t laugh. We’ve all done it.
So, here’s the thing. Before you buy this look at what is in your garage and if you are going to take the plunge into a new range of battery tools. Then make you call based upon the battery cost, because fundamentally that’s where you are going to bust the bank. Worx seem to be pretty much on a par with Ryobi so the choice is probably down to the colour. Do you like international orange or lime green?
The Worx hedge trimmer is powered by two 20V batteries so no cords to worry about. It won’t work with only one battery as it needs 40V to work and it doesn’t come with batteries or a charger. Fortunately, I have just bought a Worx battery powered lawnmower that comes with two 4.0 Ah batteries. Other Worx products are also supplied with two 20V batteries such as the Worx drill. It is cheaper to buy another product than to buy the dual charger and two batteries as they will cost.
The trimmer is very easy to assemble. In use, the trimmer feels well balanced with two 4.0 Ah batteries installed. The lock system works well, preventing unintentional operation. The best feature is the ability to rotate the handle through 180 degrees in 45 degree increments. This makes it really easy to operate vertically with the blades facing to the left or the right as well as horizontally.
In use the trimmer is fairly quiet. The blades have a good scissor action that precisely cut through leaves and small to moderate sized branches. It makes quick work of the branches that my Bosch struggled with and also produced a far cleaner cut.
After use, I sprayed some WD40 on the blades, fitted the thick plastic bade cover and hung it up on a screw in my garage wall, so it took up no floor or shelf space. All in all, a huge improvement on the old Bosch hedge trimmer and something I will now look forward to using more often.
