Purchased this as I already have worx tools and batteries, all well built. I watched a video on YouTube testing this tool against a torque wrench and was impressed, and that convinced me it would do the job I wanted which was mainly to remove wheel nuts, unfortunately even with a 5ah battery will not crack them off, I have to crack them manually and then use the gun to whip them off. Even so it still saves me time and I’m still pleased I bought it.
I’m really satisfied with this tool. I already had a Cordless Brushless drill from Worx, so I can share the batteries now and both tools work well. Looking forward to purchasing another tool from this brand.

This worx dac dac is the best thing since sliced bread…loads of torque. Made my life so much easie
It seems to be a very good tool for my kind of work. I have not yet put it through real heavy work so I can’t say anything about the battery life but it looks good so far.
Great product good torque. It removes old Land Rover wheel nuts with ease
Brilliant bit of kit. Brought for my husband and have never heard any complaints when he’s been using it…..believe me I would have heard ……..
Brought on a whim as wanted extra tool for box .
So far I’ve used this to change car wheel bolts . Bolting timber sleeper walls together and general bolts and fittings tightening and loosening. Worth having this as a bit of extra umpth when needed .
I have the whole set of worx tools so this was a must, you have to crack the nut/bolt first like any other cordless impact tool saves wear on the gun, people expect to much from cordless tools,i’m happy with it.
I have a few Torx tools and this is as good as the others I can’t understand the reviews about car wheels it took mine off with little effort.
Your wheels must be tighter than they need to be.
I haven’t used it on the car yet but I have used it on DIY jobs

Very good machine, I change my front suspension on a golf mk5 with no problems.
Recommended I have a few worx products but this is the best one for my tight nuts.

A very useful tool. Extremely good for removal those stubborn nuts and bolts.

Looks really good, and works even better, will be buying more Wrox products in the future
Ive been performing DIY on my cars for nearly 20 years now, and I never actually thought I needed such a tool.
They were also very expensive in the past (mid to late 2000’s), but now most mainstream tool manufacturers offer reasonably cheap solutions.
During the lock down period I performed several tasks on the daily and the project car consisting of brake over haul and the usual maintenance.
I then thought, wouldn’t it be handy to have a tool to whip off the wheel nuts nice and easy. (maybe I am just getting old now) haha.
Granted I have been using a manual extended wrench these past years, but I am always up for tools to making jobs much more easier.
I searched for reasonably cost impact wrenches and the two that fit the bill was the Ryobi R18IW3-120S and this Worx WX279.
It was really a no brainier for me as I owned several Worx tools already, it made sense to go for the Worx one.
However the Worx is slightly down on torque compared to the Ryobi so would it perform the job I needed it too??
The Worx also comes with two batteries which was a good advantage, as it will compliment my Worx WX384 combi drill and Worx WX030 portable vacuum too.
I purchased it and waited anxiously for it to arrive.
I also purchased a 19mm extended impact socket for my wheels (please check your wheel nut diameter)
Nothing fancy, just a standard Sealey 19mm Impact socket Model number IS1219D
DO not use standard socket attachments — It must be Impact type. The standard sockets can shatter and cause serious injury.
The size and weight was impressive for the WX279. It felt really nice to hold being compact. Most impact wrenches are pretty big and heavy.
I don’t have the luxury of having a garage or driveway.
I do most of my DIY car work in a communal car park, and living on a top floor of a flat I have to lug all my tools with me on the day I perform any DIY car work. Not easy, so weight and size is always a factor for me.
The real test, will it remove the wheel nuts on my daily 2006 Honda Accord and project 1999 Honda s2000.
Yes it did, with the power setting on 3 and a fully charged battery. Several seconds and the wheel nuts were loose.
It felt lovely to use in the hand and the impact vibrations weren’t too bad when operating.
I can now jack the entire car up on 4 axle stands and whip of the wheels instantly. No need to loosen the wheels nuts before jacking up the car.
It’s a very high quality tool. I haven’t tried it yet on things like suspension bolts, but for wheel nuts its perfect.
I now need to expand my impact socket set.
It’s not cheap but would I recommend it? Yes I would.
Mainly due to the size, weight and if you own Worx tools already.
The Ryobi would be a better choice if you are in need for a more powerful tool for more heavy duty usage.
However, for the size of this unit I don’t think it can be beaten.
Dont forget to register or unit with Worx to get your 3 year warranty.
Its only 2 years if you don’t.
Go on and treat yourself. It be your new garage friend
Used this for the first time to loosen my wheel nuts , I needed to crack them first with a wrench then away you go, whipped out the bolts in a matter of seconds . Great for removing and replacing the bolts on my starter . Good tool to have in your kit.
Pretty good and useful.
Used to replace discs and pads, not quite powerful enough to undo lug nuts, but managed on caliper bolts.
Makes the job that bit quicker if nothing else.
Lug nuts went back on okay and didn’t need much extra to reach the correct torque.
Very good item just the price is a little high

Excellent torque wrench, makes mincemeat of wheel bolts. Wheel bolts torque up to 130Nm and this span them off like they weren’t even torqued up at all. 2-3 seconds of impact and then “whizz” off the came. Another fantastic Worx tool to add to my collection, drill, impact driver, sander and angle grinder, all working perfectly.
Excellent tool for most jobs. Don’t expect it to wizz off very tight nuts and bolts though. It won’t undo wheel nuts if they’re torqued up. I torque mine to 130nm and it wasn’t able to crack them. But it’s still a handy tool with PowerShare being a plus and it’s small and lightweigh

Its a great tool for most jobs on suspension but not great for hub nuts, crank pulley nuts etc.
Top tip crack off with breaker bar and then gun the nut/bolt off afterwards. Makes job faster, but this tool isnt a one stop shop for everything and you still need a torque wrench at the end of the day
Scaffolder used and works great good torque for fastening and undoing fittings you need a smaller pin for socket I used simple split pin no troubles

Really impressed with the torque from this impact gun. Small and light as well. Batteries last forever.
Really impressed with this! I was a little worried that at this price bracket it wouldn’t cut the mustard. How wrong was I! Have only used for a suspension job and whipping wheels off so far but nothing has been a struggle yet.
3 power settings and I’m yet to go above setting 2! This was enough to remove wheel nuts / top mounts etc.
Charges nice and fast, 2 batteries so bonus.
Would definitely recommend for the DIY enthusiasts
Personally works well for me, plenty of torque when using the right setting, basic layout with easy torque settings, basic isn’t always bad, in this case it’s bloody good! Have used it a few times and works a charm! Highly recommend if you have or planning on getting other Worx tools as it has battery share
Didnt want to spend loads on an impact gun as ill only use it far and few between,it has 3 torque settings and is quite light and very small.
It has 2 batteries and a charger so good value for money.
If your after somthing that your going to use contantly then id say this wont cut it but just for the odd wheel nut etc its perfect.
So many cheap torque wrenchs for sale so really your spoilt for choice but this one has a good name on it and a decent price aswel,it also come with a solid plastic case!
Liked the handling and quality feel of the product, Liked the storage box supplied.
A bit underpowered for really tight wheel nuts.

– Lightweight
– Powerful. I haven’t struggled with any nuts/bolts yet.
– Guide light is useful when working under machinery.
– Battery power is great. One charge with undo many dozens of bolts.
– Second battery keeps you working at all times
– 3 power settings is a feature I didn’t think I needed until I had this.
Full Review:
I have used this along with an impact socket set to work around my tractors, large mowers, filed rollers, and various heavy machinery. I don’t understand how I worked with spanners in the past. I get work done far more quickly, probably in 20% of the time I used to spend on nuts/bolts. The quality of the impact wrench is far beyond what I expected. It is well made and the feature for reducing/increasing power is very useful once you get used to what is needed under what circumstances.
The battery has loads of power and you could spend a day working on machines and still not run out of power in one battery. But just in case you do, it comes with a spare. Very please with this which was bought accidentally as the one I was going to buy was out of stock.
Perfect addition to my collection of worx tools. I had a puncture and it made changing the wheel a piece of cake, light in weigh

Used with proper impact sockets it’s removed some really big hub nuts certainly speeds up your job.

Very handy used to have an air driven impact wrench, this has replaced it no problems and come’s with a spare battery so no downtime.
