What can I say, it does everything we need, it’s easy to open and its definitely great security wise, wouldn’t be without ours and if anything we’d probably get the next size up too so I definitely highly recommend this produc
I wanted a small safe to store backup data drive, passport etc. It’s never going to defeat a determined thief but it will protect them more than leaving things on view. Good value for a strong metal box with decent locking mechanism and digital key pad (with keys for backup). Easily bolted to the wall with supplied bolts. The other benefit is I know where these things are rather than wondering where I left them! Exactly what I wanted and expected. Pay a lot more for more security but it’s relative to how secure you need valuables to be.
The safe is used to keep medicines from being reached by children or unauthorised persons. Its perfectly adequate for the task and I would be happy to use it for valuables if need be
A great safe, though took us a while to figure out how to get the cap off the key cover. Drawing on instructions not very clear. Broke a nail trying to remove it. Once we figured it out, it’s a great safe for what we need it for.
Check out my video
Love the safe. It fits A4 papers in a folder and plenty of room for other docs. Feels sturdy and like that it can be screwed down.
However the instructions included do not adequately show how to set up. Had to rely on a previous Amazon review for that. You need to peel off little rubber logo for key hole then once safe is open press the red reset button next to the battery compartment and hold till it plays a jingle. Can then set a 3-8 digit code. Easy when you know how but instructions don’t mention either step.
The walls would withstand a hammer , I am. Ot sure if a pry bar in the door would bend it large door gap at bottome 2 mm steel walls looked thick on picture but are 2 mm all round,
Not fire proof as advertised,
Great for keeping kids away from things
Would not stop a well prepared burglar
8 point fixing installed in a hard to reach place to maximise inaccessibility, no one wants something that can be wrenched off a wall with a long lever,
Thicker walls than others in this price range, will probably replace after 5 years with a double walled one
in a cupboard to an outside wall with the wall bolts supplied. You will need an electric drill and a masonry bit the right size. You have option to fix to the floor also.
Perfect for what I use it for, easy to install very sturdy I would recommend this to all X
Good safe but ordered some rawl bolts instead of the plastic wall plugs that came with the safe
Safe came in a standard cardboard box. Upon opening I discovered a few dents and scrapes, mainly to the corners. The plastic cap from the bottom of the handle was missing but I did find it in the corner of the box. The package had obviously been very poorly handles and thrown around, I think some better packaging and even rigid plastic corner protection would be the minimum required.
I have it bolted to the floor hidden away but if it was out and seen then I would have returned it.
Apart from that it seems a well made safe & quite happy with it. Not fire or flood proof so I bought pouches to keep important documents and cash safe inside it.
This is a good little safe. I got a couple for myself and my brothers but 1 of them had to be sent back as we could not get the key in. The others were fine. Worth the money though
Looks the part. I havent read the instructions yet, but managed to set the code easily.
Pop the yale logo off the front, and underneath you’ll find a keyhole to unlock the safe, i assume if you forget the code, you get x2 keys with the safe.
The handle thatnopens the door is a bit plasticy.
The battery pack inside the door looks and feels a bit cheap, but there are 4 batteries include to put in it.
I bought the small safe, my good lady said it was like one fromba hotel room, i think she is right, its that sort of size.
Word of warning. I had this on my chest of drawers before i fitted it. Opened the door, and the door is so heavy the whole unit fell forward, luckily i caught it, of i hadnt would have been broken toes i think, but that is my fault.
This is a safe for 30. Looks good from the outside, it wont be the most secure safe you can buy, but for 30 i think its worth the money, and would certainly slow a thief down.
Arrived on time, big enough for valuables and money, easy set up great produc
Great product , perfect for me , however I have reservations having so many to see labels promoting what it is ? This is to secure my home .. not to put a spot light on it .. maybe rethink advertising to all what it is … thanks
This was a good product for the price, used mainly for important everyday documents so i know where they are.
Really happy with the product big space good quality and price also easy to lock and install all over a great purchase for the cos
Went for the large safe which fitted nicely in discreet area.
Comes with 4 large screws which can either be drilled onto base or back (or both-just get some extra screws).
Easy to use and sturdy enough to keep basic stuff nicely hidden anf locked away.
Only reason I’ve given 2 stars for easy to lock and a 4 overall is because the first one I received was defective! Yale customer support was excellent, however there was no option but to return the defective one to Amazon
Replacement arrived quickly and worked perfectly!
This is a great little safe for small items but remember it is not fireproof for documents
Surprised at the excellent quality given its price. Very pleased with item and more than suitable for my needs.
Recommended and is ideal for those with valuables to protect but do not need large security storage space.
This is a sturdy item and (in my view) good value for under 50. I bought it to keep prescription drugs safe from children etc. I looked at buying some of the plastic “safes” which, frankly, looked over priced and under specified. This does the trick. We haven’t bolted it to a floor or wall (not necessary) so can’t comment on fixings. But it came with fixings which looked robust enough.
Looked at numerous safes, this one was the best, easy to install and use. Keypad easy to use also come with key (incase of emergency)
Good product for the cost, exactly what you need to keep some stuff more secure in you home or office.
Yale a brand leader, decent little safe, easy to programme and easy to screw in to fitment. Only negative point is the opening handle is movable when locked. Movable but secure all the same. Doesn’t open unexpectedly
The safe is lighter than I thought it’d be but still fairly sturdy. I haven’t screwed it to the floor or anything – it sits in the bottom of my mums wardrobe and easily holds purses, jewellery, cash, etc. She is housebound and there are various people in and out the house all day so it was just a wee bit of security for her valuables. Pleased with the purchase.
This is a brilliant little safe. I’m using it to keep documents and old photos in and any other little things that I want to keep safe. I’ve not used the key pad and prefer to use the key.
Would definitely get another.
A very well made robust safe which is ideal for keeping your valuables safe like passports, driving licences, watches and cash.
The safe has a number of anchor points to mount to the floor or a wall which is really useful when deciding where to install it.
I would recommend this safe if you’re looking to keep your valuables secure.
A value for money strongbox, rather than a safe which is fireproof or waterproof.
“You get what you pay for.”
The width of the opening is 13 and three quarter inches (35cm), so laptops wider than this will not fit.
This will fit a 13 inch laptop screen or smaller tablet only.
It is a budget strongbox, rather than a thick walled safe.
It is not waterproof because it has gaps in the metal joins.
It would be fire resistantfor a short period of time, but again, with gaps in the metal joins, it is not fireproof to a great extent.
I recommend searching on youtube for instructions how to set the code.
To set the code –
1.) Put the batteries into the panel.
2.) Open the safe door.
3.) Take the key out of the lock.
4.) Set the lock handle to “open position”.
5.) Press the red button on the battery panel for two seconds until it bleeps twice.
6.) Enter the code you have chosen between 3 – 8 digits.
7.) Press “Enter”
8.) Turn the lock handle to “Closed” position”.
9.) Press the “Key” button on the keypad.
he safe works a bit fiddly to get the combo lock to work. I cannot see Why people struggle in getting it to work if you get it wrong first time remove a battery replace the battery press the reset button ear a beep retype you code press enter your code set easy. good strong safe for what I want it for. well worth the money
