Cut two massive leylandi hedges, with some thick branches, with no problem. It took ages, but the battery showed no signs of fading, and the blades cut through everything. Really impressed.

Seems to do the job but heavier than I had hopped although this may be due to the fact that it seems a little unbalanced. Not easy to put together had to ask my neighbour for help

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis cuts really well and battery life is really good. As others have said it is heavy when fully extended and battery loaded. Don’t think I’ll ever test the full extent of the battery because 30 – 40 mins is quite enough on the arms in one go. But no hesitation in recommending it’s cutting ability.

It is a handy piece of kit to have in your hedge trimming arsenal. But one thing to note,it is heavy. Unless your like the man in the vid with arms bigger than my legs, you will find it heavy to use for long periods especially when extended to reach height. Saying that though,it is marvellous. No wires to worry about cutting through or tripping over. A very usefull tool for the garden. More pros than cons. Only four stars because of weight, and Im feeling bad for that.

Nice bit of kit but really designed for high hedges only. I’m a 72 year old man of average strength. My hedges are between 5 and 7 foot high but up to 5 foot wide. This means that I have to use this trimmer fully expended at shoulder height most of the time. My arm, wrist and shoulder muscles were complaining loudly yesterday after about 30 minutes of work because the leverage effect makes it very heavy and today my back has kicked in as well. It is also quite cumbersome and unwieldy if you have to work in confined spaces. Wish I’d bought a smaller and lighter model. Having said that, and to be fair, the machine itself is well constructed and cuts very well, but it will be at its most effective when used on very large hedges with plenty of space to work in.

I forgot to add that the battery life, on first use and compared to my previous model, is spectacularly good. 75% remaining after 30+ minutes use!

I normally use a petrol hedge trimmer and step ladder. Although this is fairly heavy, nowhere near as heavy as a petrol cutter. Telescopic feature is brilliant. Easily cuts what were normally hard to reach spots.
Battery life is good, only used 20% to cut the hedge, which took 45 minutes.
    Great tool for the price.

On a high hedge about 7 foot tall and about 60 ft long this really gets very heavy with arms stretching out.

That apart it is a nice purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDoes a decent job. I have heard people mentioning how heavy these extendable trimmers are. You can pick up a bag of sugar? Now sellotape it to a broom handle and hold it out horizontally – the same principle applies here. I made a shoulder strap (from…an old bag shoulder strap) and this makes for easier carrying.

As far as the battery. I spent 60 minutes cutting on and off and it lasted no problem.
Power of cutting? I would low-medium. If you are familiar with plugged in electrical trimmers – or petrol versions, you will notice the step down in power here. It gets through bigger branches..eventually ( a bit like a baby knawing a biscuit).

I am happy with the purchase. I have two 12 foot high bushes and I can now (safely) reach the top. Job Done.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good trimmer in terms of design and battery run time and ease of use. Downside is the weight when extended to maximum length. I’m a fit male but I struggle after 5 or so minutes. I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are not very strong physically.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis review falls into two parts. What I got and my first use experience.

Firstly, what I got. Well it was what I ordered with a tiny addition. When I got it was patently not the original customer as the box and its content had plainly been opened before (broken and resealed packaging, wires on the charger coiled and re-stuffed in the box). Pre owned? Returned and repaired? Either way I have been charged the full price on the day with no indication that what I was buying was, essentially pre-owned(?). Not advertised as such.

In use, this is pretty good. It says best for moderate sized hedges. I have no idea what a moderate sized hedge is, but I am guessing that its not the two hedges that run the length of my property, so it will get a good run and a couple of recharges by the time I have finished (this written after the second day in use). Thus far the battery claimed life of 1 hour doesn’t seem unrealistic as that would be the approximate adjusted run time I ran it down to 10%, but that is on a “new” battery and from 100%.

Ergonomically it fits me fine. It isn’t light but I have certainly seen heavier and it lacks the trailing cables that can be a bit of a nuisance. The front handle is close to the head which gives a more braced posture but I can see that it might be a bit of a bind for those with a shorter reach (mine is roughly average for a male). Might be improved by including a strap, but that would be a personal preference.

The battery is not compatible with my Yard Force lawn mower I purchased earlier in the year, which is understandable given the weight implications (small amounts on the end add up the longer that you are wafting something like this around). More of a bind, the chargers are not even interchangeable, which is not necessary as far as I can see, even if the batteries are sourced from different manufacturers, they sit in a case which surely can be homogenised. It would also be a good marketing move as some other manufacturers do use a whole system approach.

And the tiny addition included in my repackaged item?

    A rusty nail.

    No, I don’t know either.

Because the plastic collar that joins both parts together is made of crap plasric and not aluminium. And strips very easily, please strengthen this Terra Tek, it’s so powerful l had to buy another one as nd live with the fact that I will never separate the two parts, that’s the only way it will last.

This budget battery powered hedgecutter was surprised me. First off, the weight is so light, even when it’s extended to it’s maximum length. Second, the power in it is better than expected but can struggle once in a while. Finally, the blades are pretty resilient and sharp too.
I’d recommend this to anyone that’s looking to trim and maintain things like conifers or box hedges.

Needed something with a long reach for two beech hedges. This is certainly long reach and adjustable but the shortest length is still about a meter- you can’t use it as an ordinary hedge trimmer. It is heavy on the arms after a short while but what do you expect all the weight is at the top. Battery life good though.

Certainly does the job as a trimmer of new growth – can struggle a bit with thicker branches, but then it’s not a “cutter”. Still have my plug-in hedge cutter for the thick stuff though.
Used it 3 times now and am impressed by its long reach and ease of use.
The handle-grip moves up and down the shaft allowing you to change the centre of gravity as you extend the reach.
Handy that it folds back on itself for easy storage.

After a bit of a look through I found this extendable hedge trimmer and though I would give it ago and to my amazement I’m very happy with it it doe’s a good job of cutting the blackthorn hedge in-between me and a field behind me ( Farmer can’t be bothered to cut it so I have to to keep it tidy )

I read a range of reviews of different trimmers before buying this one on the basis of a balance of price and product specs as supported by reviews. Over a couple of weeks it has proved very effective in my mother’s garden, dealing with her holly and privet hedging which is up to ten feet tall and for the shaping to individual bushes. Some reviews criticised its weight. If it was lighter it would not be sturdy enough to do the job or to last. I can happily use it for 15-20 minutes. If it is used with the pole fully extended then, with the weight of the cutting mechanism and motor at the end, it will feel a bit unwieldy at fist but I got used to in in a very few minutes. An occasional criticism in some reviews was that it wouldn’t cut thick branches – it is a trimmer, not a lopping device! It has a 14mm blade opening which I have found very satisfactory for normal trimming but it also dealt effectively with slightly larger stems as I also wanted to do some cutting back. I cannot comment on battery life because I haven’t drained the battery yet – the helpful charge indicator was still saying 73% after fifteen minutes of use and I haven’t bothered checking it again! I think this trimmer is great value. Cutting angle of blades to pole is easily changed and the blade cover is easily put over the blades for storage.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our Users1st off all let’s set this right, it’s anything but lightweight, after 20 minutes you’re wanting to out this down and rest your arms. 2nd, it would have been far better if the black hand gripper was further down the pole rather than close to the main handle. 3rd, they could have designed this with a strap especially when you have this fully extended as it becomes even more cumbersome to hold. Now that’s all out the way, I charged the battery at 1700 and was out doing the hedges by 1830, battery itself has a small button located on backside and digital display which is handy, shows 100% when full, when I went back in I checked again the power level and was sitting comfortably at 52% and tbh I was out for nearly 90 minutes with a few break times. It does a good cut, not sure if gives you the same horsepower as using an electric hedge trimmer but for me it’s convenient, no fathom about with getting a breaker, then extension leads, dropping out of window, just charge, plug in and go. Job done. Just remember at the end of each use BRING IN THE BATTERY, and charge for the next trimming.

Even worse, the battery charger had 1 bent pin (see foto). I could bend it back straight, but I shouldn’t have had to. The bent pin can’t be the fault of bad packaging.

Despite that, everything seems to work OK.

BUY IT – A tad flimsy but for around the home-garden (overgrown or for pruning) it’s just fine. If you are a casual user you will get tired before the ‘little battery’ runs out ! – I cut back 3ft of height of 25 yards of privet with no issues amongst other things – Samsung battery pack too ! ‘Could have bought better obviously but this is a comfortable keeper 🙂 .

This has done the job I bought it for. I have a 15 metre long hawthorn hedge which is 2-3 metres high and this cutter does the job well. It comes with minimal assembly needed (just the handle needs fitting), folds down well for storage, the instructions are clear and concise and the battery charges quickly (90 minutes). However – to use a tool of this type safely and effectively requires a degree of strength and stamina. Especially if it is extended to its full length. This is just basic physics, any tool of this kind would require the same effort by the user.

So easy to use, good value for money. Satisfies my OCD with a perfectly groomed hedge.

I’ve got two 8-10′ high privet hedges on both sides of my garden and I normally use ladders when cutting them. This hedge trimmer halved the time it normally takes. Quick to charge, easy to adjust I loved using them. They are heavy when extended fully. I imagine they all are. If you’re fit with good arm strength you’ll get along fine. If you’re not then beware, you might struggle.

I needed an extendable hedge trimmer to reach the top of my high hedge. This trimmer, at less than 100, is excellent value. I was concerned that at the price, it might be flimsy. Not so; it’s very robust and also extremely well designed. The extension and adjustable head are easy and convenient to use. Battery power – so far – also better than expected. All this said, it is slightly top heavy but I guess this goes with the territory (and I am 75!). I’m pleased with the purchase and based on the value for money I score it give stars.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI seen my neighbor using this Yardforce product and I had to borrowed it to cut my high hedge 3M.
WOW I could not believe how easy it was to use and how quick I cut my hedge and then still lots of battery power left too

I order the machine and it arrived really quickly in 2days
My hedges are looking so good now , I wished i bought this machine earlier.

This machine is relatively light ,good cutting power and machine folds up really quick and stores easily in my shed
There is no assembly on this product other than adding the charged battery pack
The telescopic feature is really quick to adjust and lock
No more using my ladders and cutting cables

Is an efficient tool, well constructed and sturdy, battery charges quickly, however, the machine is heavy and takes a strong person to hold it in workable position for more than a minute or so. I used it to trim a long six foot high leylandii and also a laurel hedge of same height and was extremely tired after half a day.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersNot as lightweight as you would think.Poor positioning of switch/dead mans switch has proved to be an irritation at times. Has a good run time of about 45minutes. Struggles with thicker branches that are supposed to be within its cutting range. Though it looks quite flimsy it has coped well so far without falling apart. Battery charges rapidly. Overall a good product that supplements my stronger petrol powered hedge trimmers.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was bought for my brother, he’s using it fine, no problems, but when it came, I tried it out and couldn’t manage to use it because it’s just too heavy for me, I haven’t got much upper body strength, but even my 6 foot brother who lifts fire doors all day says it’s heavy. It’s a good product if you’re strong enough to keep it up in the air.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis does everything it says it should do and does it well. My only issue is that I found it to be a little heavy… I’m sure that this wouldn’t be an issue for most people though!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have high hedges and hated using the ladder so I bought this and it worked perfectly, cut 3 hedges in 1 charge, did find a little heavy when pole was fully extended as I’m only 5ft 3 but got around that by holding onto the pole instead of the handle

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersOur Pole Hedge Trimmer arrived yesterday and we couldn’t wait to get it out of the box, we have a large bushy overgrown area at the side and back of our garden that the garden shears just were not getting through. The pole hedge trimmer was prefect it took 10 minutes to do the whole lot! It is light weight and has 3 cutting angles meaning we could do lower bushes and higher ones, (we also have trees which the extendable pole reached no problem.) Thank you Yard Force!

    FANTASTIC HEDGE TRIMMER

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWhat a great piece of kit! I am not very tall so the telescopic tube is fantastic for reaching to cut the high hedge. It has a great extension and the head pivots so I can trim the top of the hedge easily too. Very easy to use straight out of the box. No more tripping over and having to manoeuvre cables over the hedge! Comes with a battery which is more than powerful enough to give a decent running time and a charger so I can keep it topped up and ready to use.
I would definitely recommend this trimmer, no question.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersI have received this pole hedge trimmer and used is straight away as my hedges were way too long for quite a while.
Firstly the product was very easy to assemble, not a lot to do, just battery in and off you go. The trimmer is quite light and easy to manoeuvre, which is very helpful if you want to reach high hedges like mine. The extension is impressive, I have to say that for the first time ever, I did not need to use a ladder, which is great as it’s much safer.
Another good feature is the pivoting head, you can adjust it to suit your type of hedges, very impressive.

I have to say that this machine is worth recommending, packed with lots of good features, powerful and also good for storage, it does not take much space at all as it folds down.

    Great product, lightweight and easy
