Great piece of kit, giving a really good sound with adjustable base and treble. The sound bar is larger than most but fits in font of 49 inch TV matching the length of the TV. The separate base speaker is quite large but as it is blue tooth it can go anywhere in the room. Remote is small but works well. Changes viewing experience.
The sound quality is really good,I hope it lasts!
To be honest I had my doubts but after I read the reviews and bought it, I must say it’s simply amazing. Good surround sound and the bass from the thing is insane.
Really easy to set up
I would highly recommend. Cheers!!
Make no mistake for 50 this is a steel only issue is the remote
Very, very pleased with this product. Had to replace my old sound bar due to my dog peeing on it . The quality of this soundbar is great. Lovely crisp sound with a nice bass. Setup was easy, and the subwoofer connected straight away. Plenty of inputs, and nice looking. A little bigger than my old one, but looks good under the TV. Don’t understand why some people are saying the remote is too small. It’s a no nonsense remote that does everything you need it to. Powers up straight away, subwoofer connects every time, and a brilliant price. Would highly recommend.
Got this on offer with 70% off and has the be the best deal ever! So impressed and pleased with it, sound quality is amazing and it’s very customisable. Not to mention the various connection options is a very useful feature!
Couldn’t be happier!
Really happy with this product, love the sound it has good bass when gaming and watching movies. Would defiantly recommend this produc
Easy setup, excellent sound quality, the louder the better it sounds, 3d sound really works well
Can you collect and issue a refund, utter rubbish, connected by a Curry’s engineer ,does not work, then sometimes , but mostly not VERY DISAPPOINTED.
The soundbar quality is fantastic. Subwoofer Bluetooth options great as is the bass unit itself. Cannot understand why the remote control is so small and does not match the quality of the soundbar. I contacted the manufacturer to ask if there was an alternative. Was told that the one that came is the only one they have. This is my only concern with the soundbar itself. Even tried buying a learning remote but could not get the new remote to work. Back to the original remote and keep looking around to try and find a learning remote that I can program
My wife has problems using the original remote due to her arthritic hands. If the manufacturer could look into a larger buttoned unit this soundbar would for the price be a great buy.
Does exactly what it says….excellent quality and easy to install. I will probably buy another one for my study.
This soundbar is a beautifully crafted machine that’ll give any other more expensive makes a fight for their money!! The crystal clear vocals and combined with the subwoofer makes this a bargain of the century !! It has so much deep smooth bass that’ll send shock waves through your home,, you won’t be dissapointed,, just best to keep it down if you want to stay on the good side of your neighbours
I’ve owned cinema systems costing thousands, so do understand how good they can sound. For the money, I doubt you’ll find better. Simple connections, and plenty of input options, including coax and optical. The bass is punchy but not overbearing, and above the sound available from a flat-screen TV, the perfect upgrade. Very happy that, for a minimalist look, I can get clear trebles and mid-range supported by a decent bass. Only niggle is the connection between sub and soundbar sometimes needs re-making, so best to place sub where the rear is accessible (Bluetooth is the only available soundbar-to-sub connection, no wired option.). EQ options are limited, but, as said, for the money, you’ll not beat it.
Very pleased with this item apart from the remote control which is rubbish from what l can tell. You have to keep messing aboutcwith it to get the sound bar to have any sound
This is a well-built system. It works for me who has two hearing aids. It cannot improve on poorly recorded programmes of which there are too many. Try it on several channels.
Do read all the reviews. They are all relevant.
We love using the TV remote to control. Note that TV iPlayer will machine gun you if you don’t change the sound setting to PCR.
For partially deaf you can adjust the bass and treble – on the iBox remote – to get rid of tinny and screechy voices.
Just enjoy. You won’t regret buying this.
Great sound…. love the bass… which was missing from my previous set…. NO techy feedback from me…. just BRILLIANT, AND a good price.
I replaced two powered speakers with this sound bar and the difference is amazing. Really punchy for not a lot of money. Worth a purchase in my book and surprisingly good.
A quick tip for opening the box: open it from the bottom so that the box slides up and over the contents.
The box contains wall fittings and screws for the soundbar, two AAA batteries for the branded remote, a 3.5mm jack lead, the soundbar, the subwoofer and an instruction manual with setup and usage instructions including pairing instructions for the wireless speaker and wired soundbar.
It’s a beautiful looking soundbar and subwoofer finished in a matt black that does however have a subtle classy shine. It looks very nice and easily competes for looks with much more expensive soundbars. The design around the subwoofer front output is very nice – a funnel like swirl that is tasteful and modern.
I have taken a photo of the connections on the back of the soundbar: ARC HDMI, optical input, coaxial, 3.5mm and USB input for a flash drive (32GB stated maximum). The ports are nicely finished with high quality connections. This is most visible when looking at the USB port connections: cleanly and neatly finished USB connector pins.
On the side of the right front side of the soundbar are buttons: on/off, volume, mode and play button (for USB drive playback) which I have also photographed.
The soundbar is very easy to pair with the subwoofer and the instructions are clearly laid out in the manual which I have also photographed: both switched on so that they are flashing their pairing lights and then a long button press (play button). Mine paired in seconds. I was impressed.
The audio quality is also impressive especially in the separation and projection of the speech “track”. The speech/vocal separation (separation from music and soundtrack) is, in terms of the projection of speech and vocal, superior to some of the Atmos units I have heard. The two top/upward firing speakers seem to be responsible for this remarkably clear and “stand out” vocal/speech production. I really was surprised and impressed and it brought a smile to my face. The two top speaker cut-outs are not just cosmetic. They are completely functional – the speakers have been designed and placed in order to separate and project spoken audio (and vocals) and they do their job incredibly well.
I would say that the soundbar and subwoofer have been designed primarily for TV/film use rather than, say, primarily music playback. That said, the music playback is also impressive – more so with some genres than others and especially good where vocals are required to stand out from the music. The soundbar allows music playback from USB flash drives with a size limit, according to the instruction manual, of 32GB and FAT32 formatted. I’ve plugged in a 64GB flash drive and it was read okay.
I’ve played rock (AC/DC) and acoustic guitar tracks using the soundbar and subwoofer and both genres (hard rock and easy listening) sound very good. The bass tweaks for hard rock music allow the subwoofer to perform without losing integration with the soundbar.
I like the fact that family members who aren’t great fans of a more processed soundstage can and do, with this soundbar, enjoy clearly projected speech from films and TV series.
I think that the soundbar may be especially good for people who struggle to pick out the vocal/speech track from the wider soundstage. The out-of-the-box setup for TV/Blu-ray/streaming TV sound playback when using the first EQ pre-setting is remarkably good and probably as much as most people – including most members of my family – will ever need. There’s clearly been a lot of thought that has gone into calibrating the sound in the first EQ pre-setting for accessible and varied use.
I’ve used the soundbar with a Blu-ray player (PS4 and Xbox), games console (Xbox One and Series X), PC and TV using broadcast digital signals.
I’ve noticed some audio dropouts when using optical audio with an older (2011) LG TV. The dropout consists of a brief “glitch” like interruption to the soundtrack. I can replicate the dropout by changing the preset “EQ” choice (one of three preset options). The dropout occurs immediately after changing the setting and then about ten seconds later as well as every few minutes or so after that. It sounds like some sort of under-run or over-run phenomenon whereby the soundbar is trying to get to grips with the codec used by the TV.
There is no problem when using optical out on an Xbox One or on a Panasonic TV (2013). There’s also no problem with the soundbar when using 3.5mm, coaxial or HDMI ARC on the Panasonic TV.
The soundbar does not support DTS or Dolby Digital. On the Xbox for example, the only optical output that is supported is “Stereo Uncompressed”. This is fine – two channel stereo is perfect for a stereo soundbar and subwoofer. The sound is impressively rich with that remarkable standout speech being separated and projected clearly above the background music. When using the soundbar with an old Panasonic Blu-ray player, the uncompressed stereo signal also sounded better than when using the PS4/Xbox. I’m not sure why that is except that, possibly, there’s less processing taking place within the Panasonic player than in the Xbox/PS4.
There is definitely clever and thoughtful sound processing going on in the soundbar.
There’s a “3D” sound option on the remote control but I can’t notice much of a difference to the sound when it is on compared to when it is off.
There are three “EQ” presets with the first and the second (a hall like effect) being the most usable. The third preset takes away the speech separation and results in a very muffled effect.
The bass speaker provides a rock solid depth to the vocals and music. The speaker has a speaker output at the front and at the side of the unit (a cloth cothered circular left side panel).
The 150W rating is calculated by the output of the individual speakers – 2 x 3 inch 25W medium range, 4 x 2 inch 10W full range and 1 x 6.5 inch 60W subwoofer.
The ability to tweak sound settings beyond volume, bass and treble is limited: the remote has a bass and treble up/down button setting and there’s not much else. The bass tweaks do have a noticeable impact on bass production and harder/rock music does benefit from turning the bass up. The 60W subwoofer really can produce a good quality support without distorting even at the higher volume levels.
The lack of distortion at the highest volume level also brought a smile to my face. The soundbar doesn’t distort in an ugly way even at the highest setting and it also isn’t drowned out by a crude and unformed bass. The subwoofer and the soundbar manage to keep in sync and to work together even when the soundbar speakers are pushed to the highest volume. I only pushed the soundbar to test the highest volume setting. For everyday use there is no way that you would go that high if you had any respect for neighbours or family members. It would certainly perform well for music output – quality and volume – at a party.
The soundbar is impressive even though it doesn’t support DTS or Dolby. The investment in a wireless subwoofer that actually works – and sounds great – is far preferable than paying for codec licensing costs.
It’s a great soundbar and one of the biggest positives is the ability to hide the subwoofer away thanks to its wireless connection to the base unit soundbar. The subwoofer isn’t physically too big to hide away in a corner or next to my settee but at 6Kg it is also reassuringly heavy enough to perform as a good bass speaker. I have managed to move the subwoofer, just for testing, about twenty feet away from the base unit with two plasterboard walls separating them and the wireless signal is still received.
Bluetooth playback – Bluetooth 5.0 is supported – works well and the quality is good although not as good as when played back via 3.5mm cable, optical or HDMI connected streaming.
I would definitely recommend this soundbar especially if you want a wireless subwoofer that works well. I would much rather pay for good hardware than for audio codecs such as DTS and Dolby that don’t do too much in any case for stereo signals.
The sound processing in the soundbar is however excellent. It isn’t just luck that the speech/vocals are separated and projected so remarkably well. Without a doubt a lot of thought and design time has gone into the hardware and the software behind the scenes. I really like the design intelligence that has gone into the soundbar and the subwoofer and their tight sounding integration.
The soundbar isn’t going to replace an enthusiast’s unit but as a second sound system – for family viewing, music output or for PC/console use – it’s one of the best I have heard.
Pros:
– Speech/vocal soundstage, separation and projection is remarkably good
– Excellent responsiveness and sound quality in wireless subwoofer
– Very solid wireless pairing between subwoofer and soundbar base unit outside of line of sight
– Easy to set up with simple to follow instructions and intuitive wireless pairing (subwoofer/soundbar)
– Can produce usably high volume without soundbar or subwoofer distortion
– Simple sound settings options ideal for less advanced users who still want excellent sound quality
– Range of sound inputs including optical, 3.5mm, coaxial, HDMI ARC and USB flash drive (Fat 32 WAV/MP3)
– Good looking hardware in classy matt black with subtle shine
Cons:
– Short power leads – approximately four foot long on subwoofer and soundbar
– Display font on front of soundbar could be easier to read
The sound is very good, and I was actually surprised given the price. There is no noise that I can hear of, and the sound is pretty clean. The subwoofer is subtle, not exaggerated, and because of that it adds to the overall stage and nicely complements the smaller speakers in the soundbar. so you still have tons of room to sound super loud if you want to.
Set up was very simple and took just minutes. it was simple to connect the soundbar to the ARC HDMI port on my TV. I selected ‘Arc’ as the input mode on the soundbar — and that was it.
Switching on the subwoofer, it automatically connected to the soundbar via Bluetooth. It wasn’t an issue for me but it’s worth noting that you need two separate power sockets — the subwoofer is not powered by the soundbar.
The sound bar comes with its own remote. From here, you can adjust the bass and treble. There are also a range of preset EQ settings.
When you turn it on for the first time, the sound bar automatically pairs with the subwoofer, so you don’t need to do anything manually. I decided to stream music from my phone, so I turned on Bluetooth on the phone, did a search for devices, and the soundbar was found and paired right away.
For the music, I tried YouTube via Bluetooth, Amazon Music on the HDMI-attached Apple TV box, and an old Sony CD Walkman via AUX. All sounds good, yet my first impression was that the sound quality was equally good via Bluetooth or optical cable + HDMI, but somehow less rich via AUX connection. I cannot prove this, as for sure I listened to a different piece of music in each case — this has been just my first, subjective and not-so-well-verified impression.
I have been using it for a week now and I would definitely recommend this soundbar, considering the price.
I’ve placed this in front of my tv with the large speaker behind.
It connected well and easily to the tv.
It’s a good speaker with five ways to connect.
Was easy to set up.
I will start by saying not only is the build quality of this speaker set outstanding, but the quality of the sound is just as good as what you’d get from a much more expensive unit. The sound bar isn’t huge but its not small either, I personally think that the sleek and modern design most likely will fit into any setup.
Im currently using this for my multimedia gaming setup. I have only ever used cheap speakers so going to something like this is a massive upgrade. The sound fills the room and the subwoofer encourages vibrations as well. Having the subwoofer being wireless is extremely helpful as I like a cable free setup. Im able to place the subwoofer at the back of the room, out of the way and hidden.
The sound bar itself has somewhat of a respectable height to it so if your TV sits low you may want to think about rising it slightly or you may loose some of your screen. There is a set off wall mounting brackets which show you how to do everything inside the manual. Nevertheless this is the kind of sound bar you would most likely want to keep under the screen anyway.
By having two speakers on the top and four on the front of the sound bar, you really do get a cinematic feel. The sound just seems to travel throughout the room. No matter the size of the room the sound finds its way around. It is very impressive. You won’t struggle to get this connected up as there is multiple ways of doing it.
There equaliser settings that you can play around with which helps to optimise your sound for a variety of uses. This works great when watching movies as you can control the bass and treble to to get a great 3D sound for watching movies. You can use your phone wirelessly though bluetooth to connect up and play music. Also I own a projector that uses bluetooth as a sound output and these connect up great.
This is fantastic as the projector is on the ceiling and it would be a nightmare to run a cable from that to the sound bar. Now I’m able to just connect them up wirelessly and not have to worry about cables all over the place. As the subwoofer is also wireless the only cable plug into the sound bar is the power. I’ve used this for a few movie viewing sessions now and there hasn’t been any drop out off sound or connection at all. Im very impressed.
Let’s start with the obvious: I never heard of this brand before, so I didn’t know what to expect.
Also, I never thought I would need a soundbar.
I have an LG Oled tv and I always thought it had very good sound.
When I received the package it was very nicely packaged.
Opening the box out came the soundbar and the subwoofer. Both were larger than expected, but as my tv is standing on legs, fortunately the soundbar is not blocking off any of the picture.
Installing them was a breeze, I used the HDMI ARC port of the tv into the soundbar’s HDMi input.
The subwoofer connects wirelessly to the soundbar.
A small change on the tv’s sound menu and the set came into life.
How wrong I was! WOW!
The tv has a tiny sound compared to this set.
Straight away I found myself in a cinema like experience . Nice treble and mids thanks to the 6 speakers built in the soundbar and some proper, proper bass. Impressive is not the right word. This set elevates watching pretty much anything into joyful listening.
Apart from using it with the tv I tried connecting my phone to the set via Bluetooth and it was easy. Music sounds just as fine do now I have a hifi system as well.
The sound is powerful, but not overpowering, and there is no distortion even on higher volume levels,
All I can say, if you ever thought you do not need a soundbar, you are wrong. You absolutely do, and this set is brilliant! The fact that it is a local English company is just a bonus.
Very highly recommended!!!
I bought this soundbar as a replacement of an old one, one that had no sub woofer.. i was able to set up very easily as I used the connecting wire from my previous one, the sub woofer was easy to connect using blu tooth on the bar with the remote control.. when the sound came out I was so surprised, I had hoped for a great sound, but didn’t expect how good it would be.. I had to turn the volume down and I haven’t really let the volume fly, it is pretty loud with great bass.. very impressed, can’t wait to put on one of my blockbusters and let the sound blow me away..
This arrived really well packed and was quite a pain to get to product packaging and resembles more like a chair when it arrived
Great sounding and a doddle to set up giving your usual array of inputs.
We fitted it to replace our older soundbar and it blows it away in sound quality via HDMI Arc, the only issue is if we change input it seems to want to always go back to the original input ie HDMI 1 and not stay on 2 or 3 when trying our game consoles.
Oddly if we run it as optical cable no such input switching problem but then we lose the ability to control the audio from the TV remote and having to use the soundbar one.
Not marked it down for this as can’t be 100% sure it isn’t the TV but why did it not do it on the older Hitachi one?
There are different eq settings and you can manually adjust the bass and treble, 3d sound is also an option on the system but tbh didn’t really spot any difference with it.
Good product but a little quirky for us
This is a very good quality soundbar with wireless subwoofer, the soundbar itself is quite big and chunky, it’s not as sleek as some other soundbars and is quite high , with our tele being low set , we loose about a centimetre of the lower screen due to the height of the soundbar obstructing the screen, of course there are other ways of setting it up to counteract this problem so it’s not too much of a problem.
The subwoofer connects to the soundbar via Bluetooth, it doesn’t take long to connect and once connected it connects by itself from then on when you switch it on.
The sound quality is really good , 150w power and it is very loud, even at very loud volume the sound doesn’t distort so it sounds great listening to music and watching movie’s.
There are three equaliser settings and you can also control the bass and treble to +5 or -5 depending on how much bass and highs you want, at the moment I have it on +5 bass and +4 treble and it still sounds great, there is also 3D sound setting which is great for watching movies.
The sound bar is connected to the TV via a HDMI cable in the HDMI arc port, there is no HDMI cable supplied with this soundbar but you do get an aux cable, we have that connected to our Amazon echo and now we can ask her to play any song and it can be played through these speakers, it sounds superb, but i don’t think the neighbours are happy with my new set up, it’s very loud.
The soundbar can also be connected via optical cable , this will work really well but you may lose some quality of sound as HDMI is much better quality, but there are a number of ways you can choose to set this up, all are simple and work very well.
We decided to Christen this i-box soundbar by watching a film with plenty of music in so we could hear the qualities of these speakers, so we chose a Disney film with plenty of songs and it sounded incredible, superb sound , very loud and it fills the room with rich sound, the subwoofer provides awesome bass, not too thumpy it’s more like a rich bass that fills the room which i really like.
The fabric finish on the soundbar is really good, you’ve got two large speakers facing upwards too , so the sound reverberation is really effective, it sounds as if the sound is coming from all directions, when you standing up or sitting down at the level of the soundbar it’s always excellent quality.
I’m impressed with the overall sound quality, if I could change it I’d have the soundbar slightly more sleek looking and not as straight edged but that’s just a small gripe.
Overall it’s an excellent bit of kit that will improve the quality of your home entertainment, using it with Alexa is great.
