Easy to operate with a self explanatory menu. Sliders come out reasonably, but it has a tendency to increase the blue which needs adjusting. It will plug into a computer to transfer images from its memory card which is useful. However, it is very old technology. It still has a micro USB connector and a software disk that finishes at Windows XP. Since I had no use for the software that was not a problem to me. The flatbed scanner side of it is very poor, even at top resolution, the image is full of compression artefacts, giving the image a granular appearance. At the low resolution setting it is horrible. The slides did not look too bad but again on enlargement they show artefacts. For someone’s family portraits and who is not going to try to publish the results it is a useful tool to recover old 35mm slides and 110 film and make them ready for printing, but do not expect miracles.
Easy instructions, incredibly easy to use. I have scanned 3,500 slides and although a long process this machine made it so much easier. Very neat machine and very good value compared to many others. The viewer makes it pretty easy to see each slide. I would thoroughly recommend it.
I’ve used this for putting my photos, negatives and slides all into a digital format. Very easy to use – even though it’s fast I just wish I didn’t have so many thousands to do.
Really great product, easy to use and captures everything exactly as per the original. Not particularly a quick process but this is nothing to do with the item. The important question is whether I would buy it again now I’ve used it and the answer is a definite yes. Can’t think of a better way to capture old memories for modern day viewing
This is a cracking little gadget for transferring old slides/negativesphotos to SD card.
You don’t need a computer to use it everything in the box.
Files transfer to 8GB standard SD card (Included) you could take the card to Boots to print photos if needed.
Highly recommend you buy some cotton gloves for handling negatives to stop finger prints getting on the negatives as this would destroy the image.
Has brought back some long forgotten memories which I can now share via email or upload to photos etc.
Not had the opportunity to use it yet but it looks ok a plasticky but I guess thats the same for most things these days. It has a small footprint so great on the desk next to my computer the instructions appear straight forward but I will return and update once I’ve had a go.
This is a complete solution for anyone looking to bring over some old school negatives into the digital world.
There’s no denying that film creates a very specific style of photography that i am really keen on and as such the only way to get those is to then convert a film into a digital image to get the closest thing to a digitised quality image.
The unit is basically a box that you feed in the type of film or image that you want to convert, this will do everything from 35mm film to scanning business cards and everything in between. It connects straight up to my PC or can convert to SD card if you don’t want a straight connection.
It is quite a lot more compact than i initially thought but that works in my favour as desk space is always at a premium at home.
As a professional photographer and I can say this a great scanner for the price point. I have several hundred 35mm slides to convert to digital. The printers display is sharp, you can transfer directly from the SD card while its in the unit. There is color and contrast adjustment built in which works well enough for minor adjustments. Such great memories relived, brought back to life.
Got this to reduce cost of converting threw local studio. Able to scan and transfer on high resolution. Once on digital can amend further.
Colour saturation realistic , no need to amend using software.
Quite easy to use, no need professional training, quite simple, spend a bit time on first use, once read instructions which straight forward all good.
Overall considering cost of converting on local studio , this will recover cost of purchase in couple use. File size quality even bigger than trimmed file from local studio.
So far happy with it’s performance.
This is an awesome product. It brought back so many forgotten memories.
It’s easy to use, just plug and play and I love that it doesn’t need to be hooked up to a computer to use it.
Perfect for a non-tech person like me.
The scanner works great with 35mm negatives and scanning was fast and straightforward.
The 8GB memory card included was able to store about 2000 photos, which is great. So far I have only tried 6×4 size photos, will try with smaller photos soon. Hopefully, it will work flawlessly too.
In short, a nice scanner that’s easy to use and works as expected so far.
As a child from the 1970s I have literally thousands of old photos. They are currently just in boxes in the attic. I have always wanted to digitalise them. My wife bought me this scanner for that. I suspect she also wants me to scan her photo films as well! Either way, it is much appreciated and I have slowly started the mammoth task. It is great just going through the old photos with the family. This allows you to pass on all your old photographs without the fear of damage to the photos. The process of scanning was easy and the end digital results were very good. I am planning on spending an hour a week on this and should have it done by the end of the year.
I WISH I had bought one of these ages ago! As many others out there, we have boxes full of old pictures from when we were growing up – so many of the developed pictures are worse for wear after all these years. As you’d also know, all of these developed pictures also came with NEGATIVES!!!! You just insert those negatives in to this machine, and voila! Fresh new JPEG’s from your original negatives! How cool is that? I absolutely love this and I’m so happy to be able to preserve/revive these memories. Absolutely brilliant!!
My grandad is slowly loosing his sight as he’s getting older … its horrible to see! We came across a massive box of old negatives from his life…
So his 80th is in a weeks time and I have been sing this mean machine to convert his negatives into digital copies that he can view on his laptop!!
It is so easy to do and so good. The picture quality is immense and he’s going to love to see them agai
This device works pretty impressive. I’ve got thousands of negatives and this device converts the images very quickly. I just can plow through a roll. So far I am pleased with this little scanner, everything works good the photos scan well with good resolution.
Got bunch of old photo slides from my mum but also plenty of pictures that I never had a chance to make digital. It’s kind of all in one machine, works well with win 11 without any issues. Scanning is really good quality, fast and reliable in my opinion. Some of my friends already asked if they can do same for their old slides. Basically quite good thing if you need to make old photos digital
