Don’t know about a fingerprint reader on this but the code works well. I live in an apartment and secured this to a heavy cabinet. Good size to keep documents, jewelry, cash and my DSLR camera and lens in.
This safe is made of decent quality and suitable for home/office use as a basic safe. It comes with fixing to secure it in place, and a spare battery pack, along with 2 keys.
It takes 4 x AA batteries (which aren’t included) in order to use the electronic keypad at the front. The battery compartment is inside the safe, but comes with a spare battery pack which can be plugged into the safe in case the original batteries run out and you need to access the safe. It also comes with two keys if you don’t wish to use the electronic key pad and use it by the key method.
It’s heavy enough that it couldnt be carried away too easily, and is very sturdy for the price. It’s price is what I would expect to pay for a safe of this quality and certainly looks the part ie. Gives the impression of being sturdy and not easily broken in to.
My only issue was the instructions. They were easy to read and straight forward, but then it’s like the person who typed them just gave up and typed an letters they wanted, and it was never proof read before it went to print? (Which I’ve tried to show in the video). If you want to sell a decent product, then at least print decent instructions. It gave myself and my other half something to laugh about though whilst we were setting up the safe. All in all a decent safe though.
Easy to set up and program your passcode. The middle shelf is very useful for separating items and giving more usable storage space. It Would deter any opportunistic thieves, (especially if you have it screwed to the base and rear wall as I have) but if you have the Crown Jewels, I’d go for something more substantial. For the price it’s good value for money.
I have always wanted a small safe, and did buy one a few years ago which is still used, but it’s too small to be very practical. I saw the 38.5 litre WASJOYE safe and its dimensions were the main reason for ordering it.
Being a safe it is naturally rather heavy, but it’s not ridiculously so and I can lift it reasonably easily. I intend to install it at the rear of a built-in wardrobe where it can be securely screwed into a brick wall. That’s a biggish job which I will undertake within the next few weeks. Whilst it’s awaiting its location destiny I have given it a thorough testing and here are my findings.
I like the construction of the safe and provided it is secured firmly somewhere it would offer a lot of protection for valuables or paperwork etc. I am not thinking it would take the punishment of a full-on determined attack but it’s certainly a stumbling block (in more ways than one!) for any would-be opportunist thief. I think that a good way to increase its security is to consider where you fix it. It may take a bit more effort but if it’s mounted somewhere where access is a bit difficult to easily ‘get at’, then that alone increases the security potential. There are two holes in the rear wall of the safe, and also there are two holes in the base (under the foam mat) so you can double-aspect fix the safe for maximum security. The safe comes supplied with four very heavy-duty screws.
With the safe you get a pair of Master Keys so that should you forget the set combination, or the batteries completely fail you can always get into the safe. It goes without saying that the Master Keys need to be hidden somewhere away from the safe (never, ever put the keys in the safe, that’d be a disaster!). The instruction manual is not bad. Setting the combination is easy and you can always have a couple of goes at it anyway because the Master Key will always gain access and allow you to press the red reset button that’s inside the safe on the back edge of the door. Once you have entered your desired combination and removed the Master Key the safe is ready to use.
Normal operation of the safe is very easy. Just enter your combination number, and press the asterisk key. The green LED should light up and the safe door can be opened. The green LED only stays on for a few seconds (as a security feature) and then the combination would have to be entered again. However, once you have the door open, if the green LED goes off you can still lock the door shut.
I couldn’t see any reference to it in my manual but with the safe there was a small white box that accepts four AA batteries. I am puzzled why it’s not mentioned in the user guide but when I examined the little white box there’s a cable that terminates in a micro jack plug. A corresponding small hole can be seen directly below the keypad so I assume that’s how you connect. Presumably if the internal batteries drain too low then this little white box can be hooked up to the safe to supply power so that you can still use the combination code. I couldn’t actually test that theory though because I had no way to semi-drain the internal batteries, and when I removed one of the internal batteries that didn’t work either (probably because I had broken the circuit) but I am presuming that, with a full set of internal batteries that don’t have sufficient power, then the white box connected would save the day by providing sufficient power.
I am very pleased with the safe. One small thing that I did find a little disappointing is the silver twist knob that is used to open the door. It’s made from a rather cheap feeling plastic (which has a ‘chromed’ finish) and it bends quite easily. It feels rather flimsy and not very ‘safe-like’. I realise that the turning twist knob does not need to be particularly strong but even so it feels a bit naff and I would have much preferred metal or at least a more rigid plastic being used.
The interior of the safe is rather dark when you open the door, and will be even darker on mine when the safe is buried at the back of a built-in wardrobe. I will add a small motion sensing battery powered stick-on LED lamp to one of the inside walls (see my photo) and these only cost a few pounds, so it would be a cheap way to increase visibily automatically within the safe.
I think that the generous proportions and general build quality of the WASJOYE safe make it well worth the 99.99 price tag. I have looked at safes around this size before and this one is keenly priced. Very good product (except for that silver knob!).
This cabinet safe is such a good quality product! I got it for my house to store files and documents as well as loose cash and other valuables. It can be installed fixed into the wall via the expansion screws or left loose as is. The design looks incredible just in looks alone but the huge door is something else. The built-in security pad allows pin setups as well as unlock via a key incase this is lost. I’d HIGHLY recommend following the instructions and doing this first and ensure you don’t store the keys in the safe! In the rare event the battery dies on the device AND you lose the key or lock both in the safe, you also have a backup power supply box that will give this enough power to power the pad so you can type in the password. A great way to prevent rendering all your important items locked! The 38L content bin can also be divided by the included but removable partition if you wanted to create a shelf inside this to organise contents. Very happy with the security of this safe and how easy it is to operate as well as the built in features. It can get dark in there so I’d recommend sticking a sensor battery powered light you can often find online which is perfect for lighting up the inside when you’re looking for items.
I’ve been thinking about getting a safe for a while as we have some valuables that we keep around the house and would probably be a lot better to have a safe for them.
Was really happy when this popped up so was looking forward to see if it would live up to my expectations. The size is great, it can hold up to 38.5l and measures 40 x 38 x 31cm. This is more than big enough for us, I keep my engagement and wedding ring in the safe over night, our passports, some watches and other bits and there is more than enough space left for future additions.
The safe is very easy to set up and to use, there is a digital keypad which you can programme with a 3 to 8 digits code, also comes with two manual override keys for emergencies.
It’s very sturdy and well made, very happy with this.
This is a good sized safe which wont be hard to house somewhere.
It comes without the batteries needed to use the electronic way of using it but you have two keys if it wont often be used and or/ you want to avoid batteries.
There is a separate battery pack for emergencies though so you wont need to worry about the ones inside dying and not being able to get in there. The safe needs 4x AA and the backup needs some but only if those inside go dead. It is inserted into a socket just next to the number pad and dial. You then can use it as you would normally and open it and change the batteries.
The door has a good firm action and the bars are a good size very chunky.
The safe does move a little when you lift it showing that the walls are not very thick, but nonetheless this safe is decent quality and compares to those you get in hotel rooms abroad except it’s better as its twice the size those normally are.
It has a shelf to divide it into 2 and fixings to attach the safe to a wall.
This was so easy to set up. You can either just use the key, or by adding batteries, you can have a key code to open the door as well. it came with an emergency key.
This safe is great, it is strong and robust and I like how it comes with keys as well as being able to use a code. The box that comes with it enables it to be charged from outside which is great. It took me some time to set up because I used old batteries in it but it is actually really simple and brilliant!
I am really pleased with this safe. Once I remembered to put in the batterie[!]s, it was easy to enter the code. The instructions were clear and installation easy.
Great product…was for my Grandson at his university digs.
It appears well made, locks and opens, and it appears safe. Better locking bar spacing than most of its rivals for the price. I’d buy it again.
Convenient to use with fingerprint rather than pin, quick respond, large size and sturdiness. Would definitely recommend it.
Dug a hole and hid it in the forest. Finders keepers
Trs bien.
