I bought this to use at my mums save taking mine round all the time she doesn’t have an edge but lots of high plants that need lowering and trimming back and this works really well and I’ve not had an issue with the lead falling out but I do make sure the lead is slack below the trimmer.

hought it was very expensive but l wanted a powerful machine with a longer cutting blade which is what l got. its a big old beast and does cut easy and well, straight through my main outside power cable in fact lol.
power lead does disconnect quite easily as other people have stated.

    This is brilliant.
After struggling for a while with a smaller trimmer, this is an an absolute dream. One sweep cuts practically everything in it’s path.
It’s not lightweight, but because it cuts quickly you can get on with the job.

Monster of a hedge trimmer. Good heavy duty machine. Initial electrical connection problem overcome when rotating socket to plug in, not obvious at first as there are no instructions for plugging in.

Excellent hedge trimmer. Dealt with laurel bushes without any trouble. Easy to use, lightweight, plenty of muscle power to do the job. No negatives at all.

Very good and strong tool, cuts very well but is heavy due to the extended cutting length. Unless you are strong you won’t be able to hold this for any extended period of time. However it does cut faster than my cheap previous trimme

My old Bosch machine had given excellent service ,so i looked for the current similar model. Some reviewers had mentioned issues with the connector plug falling out. I have had no problems and wonder if the fault has been rectified. I am 71 and do find it quite weighty , but suspect my age is the issue and regular use will build up my arm and shoulder muscles. Really pleased so far.

This is a corded trimmer but there is a plenty of cord and you get much more powerful cutting action than my old battery powered one. I am so glad I invested in this serious piece of cutting equipment.

Loved it!! I always buy Bosch this model is much better than my last , the old one was heavy the blade was shorter .but lm getting older.this model is lighter longer blade and cuts beautifully top rate.

Due to the extra length, it is a heavy unit. I have a shorter trimmer and my hedges would take a good day (got a couple of 6′ hedges, about 15M worth and a 12′ about 4M). The extra reach just meant I avoided several trips and was done in a few hours!

I have a large hedge running the length of my driveway. Cutting it with a standard hedge trimmer is a long job and back breaker job. The simple fact that this trimmer has a 70cm blade vertually covers twice the area with each sweep. Also because the blade teeth gap is so much larger it cuts rather than grinds against large piece of hedge. This is the perfect tool for a big job.

I bought this to replace a Bosch AHS 7000-PRO-T 700 Watt trimmer with 70cm blade. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to buy the same model as I had before, and had to compromise on power in order to get the 70cm blade I need.
This trimmer highlights being quiet, however this masks the fact that it is only 500 Watt. That said, it is sufficient for what I need, which is cutting 4m high privet and leylandii hedges.
The main downside to this model, aside from the compromise on power, is that I find it too easy to let the motor continue running in between cutting. Although you have to press two switches with both hands to power the motor, I find that the motor does not cut-out as instantly as I would like, as if the switches are too easy to engage. The model AHS-7000-PRO-T was less susceptible to this (even though I still managed to seriously injure myself on one occasion before I’d got used to it).
Note also that this model comes with a EU plug on a short cable, which connects to the supplied extension cable with a UK plug. This does mean it is susceptible to disconnecting, but it probably has the benefit of being replaceable if you cut through it.

I would say this is still the best corded trimmer on the market at the moment (Aug 2021) which has a 70cm blade. Just be careful especially as you familiarise yourself with it on first use.

The main reason I bought this cutter was that it claimed to cut through thicker branches and it does. For a hedge with Ash and holly in it cuts through in a way that others don’t. It is also surprisingly light and quiet both of which a a bonus.

  25. Celina29Rvn says:

     United Kingdom

This is fairly lightweight considering how long the blades are. Gives a really good cut and very safe. Others have said that the cord sometimes disconnects, but if you’re reaching too far the you need to move your power cable closer! Can’t fault it whatsoever, even my kids have tried it under supervision and said how easy it was

  26. Anonymous says:

  28. Andy Altman says:

I’ve only used the hedge trimmer once so far but seems great so far. Slightly heavier than my AHS 60-16 which recently stopped working (after 11 years) but the extra reach is good and the large tooth gap is bang on for shaping.

The detachable power cable isn’t too annoying but the clips where the wire is supposed to run seem very tight, so I just used some garden twine to take the weight off the plug. Did a great job!

Cuts very well indeed. Operates quietly. The only problem with the machine is that in my advanced years, I found it slightly heavy. It would have been no problem to me a few years past. However, overall, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Decent Bosch as usual. Big tooth spacing ideal for woody hedges. I feel like Rambo with this, lesser hedge trimmers made me feel like Danny DeVito.
Got to hand it to Bosch, even the colour of the machine is not namby pamby.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to replace my old Bosch 6000 Pro-T.
The new model compares very well. It cuts cleanly and has no problem at all with thicker stems, its is also noticeably quieter too.
The casing is as substantial as the previous version although the hand guard is flexible and feels a little less solid.
I saw the comments about the cable connector so I prepared for it. The mains cable is quite thick and took quite a bit of effort to squeeze into the holder, I could only get one side in. I found the arrangement to be very bulky and the connector with its looped cable snagged in the hedge when cutting the top.
An inline connector as on the old model would be much easier to use.

This is the 2nd Bosch I’ve bought after the last one gave up with a switch fault.

Great price from Amazon made it worthwhile buying rather than looking to fix the old one.

Just used it to cut 2 massive hedges and it’s quite a beast. I wanted this size of blade, and it’s lighter and quieter than the last one, so all plus points for me. Glad I bought it!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLighter weight , works well, some people complain about the Europesn connector popping out, some people cable tie it together, If it proves a problem ill just fit a traditional Orange uk hedge cutter cable connector instead. Cable was a bit short in my case ? So if I purchase a longer cable ? I’ll convert it to the traditional type UK cable connector plugs. Please note when you first use it, the Motor will initialy give off a burning smell until it settles in.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI purchased this Hedge cutter for my husband and he is delighted with it he says it’s the best Hedge cutter he has ever used. My husband is 69 years young. Before I purchased I read all the reviews out to my husband. So when the hedge cutter arrived he made sure to follow the instructions for use very carefully. He followed the loop system advised to secure the main cable.(I note that many users had issues with the conector coming out) My husband had no such issues. He said that the hedge cutter was amazing he had no snagging issues at all that it cut through the hedge like butter. Our Hedge at the rear is 9 foot high with some thick branches. This hedge cutter made light work of what would normally be a tough job.My husband suggests that users always clean the blades and lubricate before storing. The warranty registration is a bit of a pain because it doesn’t immediately give a link to garden tools click on the second tool icon and that should get you to the correct area. remember to have your product code which begins with 32 and your serial number starting with 2 to hand .Uploading my receipt was impossible it kept saying file to large. I resorted to copying my receipt details to their contact email. Will keep the receipt safe in case I need to post it. You have a limited time to register your product to secure the 3 year warranty so don’t delay. My husband highly recommends this Hedge cutter.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis machine is a beast it took no time in beating back my conifer hedges which had become over grown, It cut though them like butter.

Yes this is a heavy and a long machine i wouldn’t really recommend for the not so strong. Only once in cutting my hedge did i hear the motor slow during a particular big branch but a lot less then my previous trimmer which was around 400w, though hopefully being clutched will save any long term damage.

I like the fact that the cable is in two part with around 15cm hanging out the machine, other people say this falls out i didn’t have a problem and i didn’t do what the manual says to do about wrapping it round the correct clips on the plug but if you do manage to get the cable in the clips this would be a non problem.

At the price i would put it as high end DIYer not really professional standard but close.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersGreat tool. Powerful, quiet (for a hedgetrimmer) and quite a beast. Read the generally good reviews but saw several complaints about the power lead detaching. It shows clearly in the instructions how to loop the power cable through the hooks on the trimmer plug (tricky, quite tight). Once done there is no strain on the connection but there is enough slack to unplug if necessary. Bought this to replace a Screwfix Titan one that had shredded it’s motor gear. The Bosch one has a slipping clutch and easily gets through branches as thick as your thumb. Very pleased

    Great but read the instructions!

I needed to cut a Leylandi hedge which had grown too tall .It cut the side of the hedge brilliantly.
The top was less easy to tackle, but I expected this to be the case when I bought it.
It is not a light machine and manipulating it on a ladder is not so easy at a height.
It does what it claims in the advert and would be able to do more if the user had strong arms.

I bought this to replace an articulated long reach- petrol driven- professional hedge cutter.
Now being 70 year old this has become too heavy for a 160 foot by 9 foot hedge.
The Bosch is lighter and having a 700mm blade is long enough to cut the face of the hedge easily and has made an excellent job. I have cut the hedge each year for forty years so it was New growth being removed.
Highly recommended tool that does the job. Before storage I remove the sap from the cutters and WD40 them before storage in the attic
