I was hesitant at first to spend his much for a Bluetooth headset for my phone, but I’m very glad I made the purchase. These are excellent and comfortable, and even when I was going by a construction site with heavy equipment in use, the person on the end of the conversation heard me clearly and didn’t hear the heavy equipment. With the 16 hour battery life, these are the ones to buy. They come with a hard case, so you don’t have to worry about ordering a case. I’m very happy with the purchase. It’s great to have a reliable headset that doesn’t rest over the top of your hearing aids and is light weight, but secure on your head when in use.
These are great, but they are not working for what I wanted… because they are bone induction, I wanted to wear them “inside my full faced motorcycle helment”.
I was correct that the pressure of the helment would make a snug fit on my head and I can listen to music while I’m riding…. they sound amazing. I had hoped that the mic would be a little more maliable, so I could talk with others…. it has two mics in the mic stem. But the mic stem barely reaches outside the coverage of the helment padding, and… I can talk to others clearly. But the large bulge where the mic connects to the headset is incredible painful on my head under the pressure of my helment.
So they work better than described, it just hurts my head inside my full sized motorcycle helmet.
Great product, by my “First World Problems” is impossible to endure. They work amazingly, but not under a full faced motorcycle helment.
I hope they read my review, because they could become a great product for motorcyclists with a little adjustme
I put the key words in the headline for an easy find for those searching. a) Input? Sounds are very, very good for voices. As for music… meh (same issue as others report, lacking in the bass and peters out for the high notes). b) Output? People I’ve spoken to hear me exceptionally well. c) Multi-link – this capability is awesome. I have my headset linked to both my cellphone and my laptop. I can listen to the news via my laptop as “background noise” while I work; if someone calls, clicking the answer button it mutes the “background noise” and answers the phone. Once I hang up, it switches back to the laptop and “background noise” resumes. d) HAM radio. For the times I have the headset connected to my radio, a double click on the headset transmits, a single click brings it back to receive. Although I can only speak to the radio I’ve connected to, I think this will likely be the same for any radios that are bluetooth capable.
I have older equipment I drive with windows down very loud wind noise… was able to talk and hear very nice without my ear being plugged that way I hear any sound from engine work well ..not for pleasure music listening made well for all day work..music is good for back ground music..
There great really last me 2 days between charges having them on 12+ hours a day connected to my phone. They do end up starting to hurt on the top front edge of my ears unless I keep pushing them forward off the front edge. But after a few days I’ve gotten used to it and I can’t find anything better quality wise and sound wise.
I liked the headphones. I did only give it a 4 star because of the beeping sound when you mute items it’s connected to. I use it with my computer on teams and works great other then the beeping noice. I started to just move the mic up towards the top of my head and this keeps me from noice I make to sound in meetings. Sometimes I forget to move it back down and when it’s my turn to talk they let me know they are not able to hear me. The battery last all day and some. I am in meetings allot every day I work.
I use this daily for conference calls. For me, this is more comfortable than any other product I have used (and I’ve used dozens).
The bone conduction design makes it so I hear all parties very well. I understand the words better. If more than one person is speaking, I can differentiate the speakers. I nearly always hear more than others on the conference call.
The microphone is good. People do not complain or ask me to repeat my words.
Music is ok. My wife has a more expensive AfterShokz without a microphone and it has better sound quality than mine. Simply said, I won’t use mine for music but I’m ok using my wife’s for music.
The Bluetooth range is better than my other devices. I can leave my phone at the far north of my home and walk to the far south without interruption. The walls do not significantly deteriorate the signal as I am able to roam to the far south of my basement when my phone is at the far north upstairs.
If I ever need to replace this, I will replace it with the same product. That is how good it is for me.
Mainly used for Teams calls. Pricey but quality seems on par. Volume control and Mute don’t seem to work when on Teams, you have to use the Teams settings, and then you need to use Windows sound settings to mute otherwise you get a loud beeping. Apparently this is due to a Teams update which is upsetting a lot of people, and because Shokz product has not been certified or something. There’s a workaround as above, it’s not elegant but it works and I’m much happier not using ear buds.

Update July 2022
After repeated phone calls to Shokz, they eventually shipped a replacement. The new version looks slightly different without the orange accents, but the performance seems to be the same. If this unit is more reliable, then this puts the Opencomm as a top contender for Bluetooth headsets with noise canceling microphone.
I purchased the Opencomm in Dec, 2020 during the pandemic in addition to the Aeropex (now called the OpenRun) I already owned. Bone conduction speakers are amazing for what they are meant for and not having to place anything inside or over your ear is a huge advantage.
The Opencomms were based on the 7th generation bone conduction technology, unlike the 8th generation the Aeropex. This means the buds that generate the sound are slightly larger and heavier and the sound quality is not as crisp – but it’s really a minor difference. What you gain is a microphone that picks up your voice and blocks out background noise, perfect for work from home or taking calls on the road. Also the battery life is much better on the Opencomm over the Aeropex.
Comparing to the Aeropex, the microphone on the Opencomm makes you sound more natural and it cuts out background noise significantly. I could be using the vacuum cleaner and the people on the other side only heard a hum. The voice pickup is also excellent, like a high quality headset, and your voice does not sound robotic or compressed. The Aeropex on the other hand picks up everything, similar to a speaker phone and being in loud environments are a distraction to the other side and you also sound more robotic.
The one-star rating is that the microphone on the Opencomm started cutting out right after the two year warranty period. Only static was heard from the other side making the microphone essentially useless. And since the Opencomms are heavier and sound quality slightly diminished over the Aeropex, I still use those on exercise runs or casual listening.
Shokz after service support seems to be non-existent and their chat bot leaves much to be desired. I have not been able to get in touch with anyone from the support team and it has been a frustrating experience given these headphones are supposed to be more premium.
Perhaps I received a dud or early version of the headphones as I purchased them when they were first released. However not being able to reach a customer service person to discuss an RMA is why I’ll be avoiding this brand in the future and will walk back my prior recommendations.
Sound is clear and easy control over the volume and pause is easy to use to and answer calls

Have now been using these over a week. I use them every day as I am a mobile equipment repairer. The clarity is amazing whether i am in a workshop or driving my car. Everyone I have talked to, while using them, think I am literally right next to them.
While their sound performance cannot compete with full over the ear headphones or earbuds, you do not buy these for this type of listening.
The headset is comfortable and I wear these around 8hrs a day, sometimes longer. I now have the ability to talk on the phone while continuing to repair equipment. Not worry about earbuds falling out. Have unobstructed hearing in industrial workplaces with the option of fitting foam ear plugs, for safety, while still being able to have a conversation, if needed, on the phone.
Battery life I get around 2 days using as phone and mp3 player.
I am very happy with the performance of this headset and thoroughly recommend them.
This is a great option if you work in loud environments. I am a crude oil hauler and am in and out of truck alot. I work in loud windy environments and the only other real option that is like this product is the old over the head blue parrot (still the best but not most ergonomic under a hard hat). These Aftershokz are really good no problem for others to hear me in these loud environments. The wearability is real good while using my hard hat. The main ding for these is they just dont last as long as I would like. I could go 3 to 4 days with my old blue parrot. The aftersholz I can go maybe 1-2 days before needing a charge. Really wish they made a lanyard style like the LG’s that retract back into the neck portion that work as well at noise cancelation as the blue parrot or these aftershokz.
I have tried many headsets for my mobile phone, & the clarity of voice calls on this product is remarkable, it sounds like a landline phone call, also I am able to have music playing in the background without the caller hearing it. Lastly, I wear this product for over 9 hours constantly with no problems. I would highly recommend it.

Able to wear it for hours without noticing it is there. Used it while cycling the South Downs way and lasted more than 6 hours continuously listening to music taking calls and using Google Assistant. Stayed in place without budging. Charges really quickly from flat to full. Not good in high noise environments (like the tube) and no noise cancelling function, but don’t use it on the tube and it is fine. Microphone very sensitive.
So I was on the fence about buying bone conducting headphones. The cheap ones I didn’t feel we’re going to work and the expensive ones, well they were expensive. I needed something that I can wear all day during work to make phone calls and just not have to be taking headphones on and off. I also don’t like things in my ears so I had big clunky over the ear headphones.
I put these on as soon as I receive them and was immediately a little disappointed in the sound quality when I play music. Listen, I knew this going into it. These are not listening to heavy bass headphones. So there is just that
But 6 hours later, these things are still on very comfortable very usable for phone calls. I think these are going to be good day to day work headphones for me. They’re low profile they don’t look super obnoxious and they’re very comfortable. The boom microphone is flexible but it also turns into position you don’t even know it’s there he doesn’t get in the way of anything else.
I’ve had lots of headphones for work/Teams/Zoom etc. and these are by far the best.
Reliable connection, great battery life (whole day/8hrs of calls) and comfy.

What an amazing little headset. Super light, and fits behind the head so that it doesn’t mess up your hair (yes, it’s important for us ladies).
I was having issues with earbuds. I have highly sensitive ears, and I had earaches after wearing buds even for 10 minutes. My earaches would last for a few hours. My sister’s Hearing Technician said she bought these for her husband for the same reason. She sent me the link, and I bought them right away!
I received them in a few days! OMG! What a difference. I love these because I don’t have to take them out every 2 seconds when someone else is talking to you, or you have to divert your attention somewhere else. They also pair up super fast, and they last 16 hours on a single charge! Can you say YAY??? 🙂 🙂
I can hear great out of them, and my husband doesn’t hear anything even while I’m sitting beside him on the couch! No more earaches…. YAY! I can’t wait to try them in my car!
LOVE THESE AND I CAN’T SAY IT ENOUGH <3
Noise Cancellation is superb! Sound quality for calls is great! Volume control is a hit and miss in some apps. Sometimes when I press the volume it will just say, “Battery High/Medium/Low” instead of actually adjusting the volume. Sound quality for music is decent, I understand this part as it’s built not for Music consumption but for office set up, but overall I can still enjoy music and videos using this!
Most importantly, I can wear it all shift without hurting my ears or head!!! You’ll have a hard time draining the battery on this one too!!! I always forgot to disconnect it from my laptop but it will still have battery the next day!!!
These took some getting used to, but now I’m thrilled with them after 2 weeks of using them I am a truck driver and these are great to hear my calls & listen to podcasts callers can hear me well they don’t cover my ears which I love also I can wear them for 12 hours without getting sore or sweaty these are pretty amazing. highly recommend idk why truckers would buy those giant earphones that cover their ears these are much much better only down sides is the max volume is lower than headsets that cover your ears, and at max volume you can really feel the sound waves vibrating against your cheek but i rarely need to put on max volume, and I drive an 18 wheeler that’s very noisy. give them a try. PS, they are not great for listening to music they are intended for phone calls & non-music stuff like audible books & podcasts you can listen to music but the bass and richness is lacking as this isn’t intended for music as a trucker I love them & highly recommend and battery lasts 14+ hours and recharges quickly (45 min).
I have owned the OpenComm (Boom mic) version for about 4 months now and have grown to love this headset – one I wear for many hours a day.
Whilst I wouldn’t choose it for listening to music at high quality (not enough bass), they are “OK” from time to time.
For meetings and calls however these are excellent. Voices are clear, and they are comfortable to wear with a great battery life.
One minor point of annoyance is that the buttons do not function when using with Windows 10 (they work perfectly with a mobile phone) – this seems to be a Windows limitation, but it a bit of a shame.
If you are looking to avoid that over-the-ear feeling, or want to keep in touch with your surroundings, and spend hours on calls, then this will work for you.
I wasn’t sure if AfterShokz OpenComm was going to meet my needs i.e. comfortable in wearing it for long hours, able to hear clearly whether it’s me or the party on the other end of my call, and the longest duration each charge will hold or at least it should last me for a day with each charge. And to my pleasant surprise, it met all my needs and ticks all the boxes. I am really happy with it. However, there is just a small thing what I find annoying is switching from one call to another source such as a PC and back. I wish it had a switch or a button for me to just toggle between two calls so it is very straightforward. Anyway, in the absence of anything better that I have tried previously, I would still recommend this product to anyone looking for a wireless headset.
Now I have only had my headset a few days but so far its been amazing. It is clear, sounds great, and others have said I sound great as well. My office has a washer and drier in it and the mic cleans up that extra noise.
I rarely write reviews but this really deserves one. As someone who suffers ear infections often I needed a headset for work that didn’t block air flow into the ear. I havnt had a painful ear infection since buying these months ago, and the quality of just amazing plus the case I’d extremely handy. The material is durable and flexible meaning they do not break easily. I have used them Monday -friday 9-5 for months and they are still like new!!
I’ve been looking at this headset for a while but I was apprehensive about pulling the trigger and making the purchase. I drive OTR and the road noise in my truck can be loud at times. I was afraid that by not having the traditional headset cup over my ear I wouldn’t be able to hear whoever I was talking to but boy was I wrong. I can be riding with the window down and because of the stereo setup connecting to both ears I can hear everything clear as a bell. My other concern was that the microphone is on the left side putting it right next to the window so I was afraid the wind would washout anything I said but there again I was wrong. The noise cancellation on the Open Comm is amazing. At 70mph with the window my wife said she could understand everything I was saying. She said she could tell that there was wind blowing but it was in no way overpowering or annoying. As a 25 year veteran of the road who has gone through many different headsets this one ranks up there as one of the best in comfort and sound quality and I highly recommend it.
I would of given it 5 stars but I have issues with 2 things. 1- Head band is not ajustable so with a jacket or coat, it’s always caught up in it and on head rest 2- USB cable is specific to these head sets so don’t forget your cable if you go anywhere for a certain amount of time.
I specifically wanted something that I could still be situationally aware and be able to hear the sound of my own voice. I work in an office environment where people do come by the office to talk and I do want to know when someone is around me. The other issue is being able to hear myself. When I’ve used full coverage headsets or ones that are on both ears, I slowly get louder and louder to the point I’m nearly yelling. The looks I get from co-workers is not nice if looks could speak. I’ve also used the kind that only go over one ear with the microphone boom and the plantronics BT ones that hang over one ear. The former feels unbalanced on my head and I feel like I should be in a call center, while the latter falls off my ears (I have thin, weak ears).
So I took a gamble on these which really paid off! First off they are not cheap, but I remember some of the first BT headsets weren’t either. The fit is amazing. Very lightweight and doesn’t feel like its squeezing your head. The hoop portion is awesome since its goes behind your head rather than over it. Bonus points for not dentin’ my ‘do!
The transducers sit just right in front of your earholes and don’t cover them at all. Fully aware of your surroundings at all times with no earhole fatigue. The boom mic is small and just goes as far as mid-cheek so I don’t even see it in my field of vision.
Now if you like me the first thing you are going to do is play music to see how they sound. You are not going to be super impressed. It can sounds a bit tinny with not a lot of base. The highs and mids sound really good though. However that is not the point of this headset, which is for communications. Call someone up and talk to them and they will sound perfectly clear and distinct. The other end of the call said I sounded perfect with no background noise. No issues with making out different speakers in multi person calls either.
Now that doesn’t mean you should not listen to music on these. I often do between calls. Bone conduction means your co-worker neighbors are not bothered by sound leakage. The open ear design does mean that base suffers however you can remedy this with earplugs. Test this out by plugging you ears with your fingers and you’ll notice a huge change in base.
Overall, these check all my boxes for two-way audio communication. Light, comfortable and great sounding; so far these have lasted me all day long on a single charge. Magnetic charger is nice, while the carry case is overly large. You could put full size headphones in that case.
Definitely give yourself sometime to adjust to bone conduction audio as it is a bit jarring at first to be able to ‘listen’ thru your jawbone. I haven’t had any issue with it other than some slight tickling when there is a track with heavy base in it and the transducer buzz against the sides of my head.
Great headset!
Got the product quickly. They were super easy to set up. Very comfortable and the sound is of great quality.
I’ve used many headsets for my work as taxi driver most stop me from hearing customer in car when in ear but this is brilliant clear sound quality for calls and I can hear customers as my ears not blocked

No dislike ever thinking great the charger is magnetic is very easy to charge they thought of every thing
These are great, good battery life, comfortable.
Takes a little while to get used to can give you headache or motion sickness
The down side is that they are not fully supported with Zoom etc, you still have to use the pc to unmute which is mildly annoying but forgivable

I lost my earlier expensive earbuds, so I looked for something that would not fall. That is handled. At first I experienced a slight pain on my right ear after a few hours of usage. I discovered that if I push the back part toward the top of my head, that totally solved that. I needed a device that I could pair with my cell and my computer. It was a little learning curve to figure out the double pairing, but that worked well, the documentation is decent. I had a situation with the mic when using a Bluetooth antenna in Teams / Zoom meetings, wrote support, I never got an answer from them. Not good. However, the antenna support team helped me resolved the issue. You need to keep the volume at a certain level, otherwise it will produce an unbearable tickling effect. Jut lowering the volume a bit solves that. But, when BT is fine, sound quality seems fine, at least I did not get reports from users in meetings. I really love the fact that I can use it with the cell and with the computer, I really did not want to have to use two headsets. That solved that. I do not know exactly how long the battery last. It is hard to tell, since I am not in meetings every day. But, so far I cannot say that this has caused me a problem. So, based on all of that, I recommend that product.
Bought for my son for general use and for gaming. He had been having issues with in-ear head phones – wasn’t sure if these would be up to standard but they are excellent. Super comfortable to wear, excellent sound quality – absolutely brilliant in fact.
Franchement bluffant.
Ganzer Arbeitstag muss ohne zwischenladen gehen.
Ein Manko was mich etwas strt….
2 device sind gekoppelt.
Eins davon spielt Musik ab
So working from home with the pandemic means I have been spending 6 to 7 hours with a headset stuck on my head as everything is now done by phone or on teams. The normal over the ear or in ear headphones got uncomfortable and painful over the course of a day. Looking for a solution I was recommended bone conduction by a couple of people. Doing my research I found these. Boy am I glad I did. These are amazing. They a light, comfortable and you hardly know your wearing them. The sound is clear and people have commented on how good the mic is. The slight vibration on your temples takes a little getting used to but after a while you don’t notice at all. My ears feel good still at the end of the day. No headaches or pain. Only thing I cant figure out is how to control volume direct from the headphones, I have to do it actually on the laptop settings. It’s not to much of a bother as I’m normally with it anyway. The Bluetooth is a good connection and has a very good distance. Over all for the price, if you need an all day wireless, comfortable headset these are amazing. Battery life for me has lasted all day with very heavy usage with no issues. Just don’t loss the charging cable which comes with them as its specific to the set.
This is an exceptionally comfortable headset. I sometimes forget that it is there. The sound quality is really good, and the mic is excellent as well. You have to make sure about the angle of the Mic for the other person to hear it clearly. The quality of sound is great with decent background noise isolation. The battery life is great. It charges very quickly and lasts for a few days without a need to charge with moderate meeting and audio use. The buttons are not natural and take some time to get used to, but it is just a minor inconvenience.
Above all, the customer service is excellent. The first headset I got had a microphone issue. I got the replacement quickly with expedited shipping. They have not even asked once to review but I am compelled to write this because of their professionalism. The company deserves this.
Positives:

You need to be mindful of mic angle
Buttons experience can be improved
Overall, a great headset with excellent hardware and exceptional customer service. I highly recommend it.
I was pleasantly surprised when I got the Aftershokz Opencomm, not particularly expecting much, but the quality just blew me away. The headphones themselves were light, most importantly, did what they said in the blurb. The noise cancellation is good, the microphones phenomenal, and for meetings, it is a very good product. For music, there are better headsets but for the price, this is a very good buy
I was using a good brand of bluetooth headphones for my meetings that included a microphone but not an extended microphone and I had a lot of complaints about voice quality. These headphones are terrific if you don’t need to block out noise. They’re super light, comfortable and the voice quality for others on zoom is great, lots of comments about how much better it was. I’ve had them for a few months now with no issues at all. They’d also be hard to break as they’re very bendable!
I see lots of comments about not working well with teams. Used daily on teams, no issues. Works well on Zoom. Less pressure on my ear and not as invasive as other headsets and earphones I’ve used in the past. I can have music on in the house while on calls and the customers can’t hear it because of the noise cancellation. Can get around two days of on and off calls before battery dies, so worth a charge at end of day. A*
I drive a truck for a living and these things are great because they are so comfortable and they don’t cover your ear! The first pair I got was buggy, and the shipper immediately sent a new post that works great!
These actually sound better with ear plugs in! How weird is that? Lol
If the volume is up though it can make it difficult to hear things outside of these, so I usually keep the volume about half if I’m listening to music or something. Normally though I keep the volume up for my conversations. It’s so nice getting sound in both ears vs. only hearing the caller in one ear with normal Bluetooth headsets, and believe me I’ve had many of them in the past 20 years! (Bp, .RK, RM) to name a few. These are by far my favorite as I have actually forgotten they were on before. Lol
They are quite durable, the sound is excellent for me, but I use these for talking mostly. Which reminds me, the noise cancellation is very good (surprisingly) for not having the boom mic right in front of your mouth. Perhaps not quite as good as others as I’m used to having the long mic that I speak directly in to. But for the mic being so far away I have very few complaints of road noise from the people I talk to regularly. I love this headset! I think they really captured what I was looking for. Great for professional drivers in my opinion, however it’s just me out here and every one is different. Good luck! I think you might be pleasantly surprised. Be safe out there!
I’ve already got Aftershokz trekz which are great, but when I got my new Samsung ZFlip3, I discovered that Samsung in their infinite wisdom, have decided to ditch the headphone socket. I use my phone all the time for working from home and need a headset so I can type & have pretty long conversations. I tried my Trekz but they sounded too hands free to clients, so after then trying an adaptor (unreliable connections, no matter which I tried – gave up after 2), I bit the bullet and got these. They’re super comfy to wear all day, clear and the battery life is great too. Even better that I managed to get them when they’d dropped to 125.
So my experience with this headset so far has been pretty good! The noise cancelation is superb even in noisy environments, the listener can hear me as clear as they would be if they were on speaker phone. I work beneath loud audibly assaulting machinery and have difficulty hearing them IF you are NOT wearing ear plugs for saftey. Otherwise these are fairly comfortable to wear and sometimes I forget they are even there. The listener can even hear me in quiet settings a tone just above whispering so if you are in a library or shared office space the noise cancelation for the listener is superb with the drop-mic DOWN. This headset has resolved a few of my biggest issues as an active technician and engineer that needs to be in constant telephone contact during event changes and troubleshooting. WEAR EAR-PLUGS to isolate your ears and the sound input if perfect! otherwise they are great for casual debating and instructing and do their job well. The standby time is awesome BUT i recommend you power off when not using them for a long period of time to retain battery level in those extended shifts. Definitely invest in spare charging cables so you can charge freely. I would recommend this product to anyone, they even work for people that have difficulty hearing with ear-drum damage; I tested this! great product!
I just started a work from home job and the only headphones I had were a basic wired pair, so I wanted to get a wireless option with a good microphone for calls. I have somewhat sensitive ears, so I decided to try out bone conduction so I didn’t have ear buds inside my ears for hours a day. This technology is pretty cool, I was able to hear pretty clearly, and was told my microphone was very clear. I was able to connect with these to Zoom, WebEx and Teams calls on my Mac without any issue. The material and the way they sit is overall pretty comfortable.
Unfortunately, these just weren’t meant to be for me for a couple of reasons.
A. Glasses
You can technically wear these with glasses, so I wouldn’t let that make or break your decision to buy them, but it’s factor to consider. The glasses and these headphones were kind of at odds with each other, and I was trying to layer them in different ways.
B. Hair
I have long hair that I almost always wear down. This sounds like a petty thing to pick at, but I just found these straight up annoying with my hair. You have to make sure your hair is tucked behind your ears or pulled back to be able to place the bone conduction part correctly. Also, since they wrap around the back of my head, and the material is kind of soft and rubbery, it snagged my hair and got caught in it a little.
Between the glasses and the hair, I just struggled to get these properly aligned and feeling comfortable. Maybe if you just had one or the other it’d be fine. I’m returning them but definitely didn’t have any issues with the actual functionality of these headphones.
I’ve been interested in bone conduction tech for a while but never pulled the trigger. When a friend sent me some special audio files and suggested I try them with a bone conduction headset I placed the order.
The result was an unexpected game changer for me. First, the sound files she sent were amazing at higher volume levels, seemingly right in my head. But more importantly, I can wear these literally all day long, 12+ hours, and have no ear fatigue or discomfort. Moreover, wearing in-ear buds causes ear wax buildup issues for me that are totally eliminated with this solution. Add in the fact that it’s virtually silent to those around you, unless you really crank up the volume, and you still have some ambient sense of environment, and you have one of the best products I personally have ever purchased. Literally, I would not take them off for like the first week I had them. I wore them all day, I used them with my computer, my cell phone, my tablet, and even slept with them on to listen to some frequency music at night.
Let me be clear I’m not saying these are super high fidelity, although I think they sound excellent, but they are so much more comfortable, lightweight, with a great battery life, that I could not be happier with them. Super highly recommended, especially if ear fatigued or discomfort is one of your challenges with traditional earbuds. Love them!
A friend recommended these after I suffered an ear infection from wearing AirPods on my dog walks (talking earpods in and out in cold, damp and dirty conditions is definitely not recommended!!).
I was somewhat skeptical about the sound quality but after using them several times and getting used to how they fit around the ear, I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised.
I mostly listen to audiobooks and make calls so music quality isn’t really an issue. The sound quality for music isn’t terrible however the bass does cause some vibration and a bit of distortion but for making calls and listening to audiobooks without having to stuff things in your ears these are BRILLIANT and I’d thoroughly recommend them.
I was also worried about the little boom mic being a nuisance, it is on occassion when a call comes in you have to remember to flip the boom out, the background noise cancellation is so good people can’t hear a thing when it’s tucked behind your ear. I also thought I’d look a bit stupid with it while out on dog walks. But after a while the self-conciousness goes away.
Battery life is pretty much on par with what they say as well, 6-8 hours of listening easily.
All in all, I’d say these are great little headphones, a bit on the steep side, but I’ve so far had plenty of use out of them without any problems.
The best overall headset I’ve ever had.
Here’s why..
I’m a Flatbed Trucker.
If you’ve ever tried to keep a headset on your head while jumping around..
You know it’s near impossible.
These stay in place.. Comfortably I might add. I hardly know they are there.
I had originally got upset when I put them on and climbed into my noisey Semi and could hardly hear a thing.
By accident, when I stuck my finger in my ear to scratch it, I heard everything Perfectly.
I reached for earplugs and stuffed them in my ears.
This is weird, but it was the best sounds from and headset I’ve ever used.
In quiet settings, I don’t need the earplugs. In noisey setting,
Worksite, semi truck, Etc..
I would highly suggest the earplugs.
And unlike built-in, in your ear, phones.. you can toss dirty earplugs.
The elongated mic is great for noise cancelling for who you are talking to.
My wife, who couldn’t stand wearing headsets, even the blue parrot..
Loved these. So I bought a second pair. This is my only gripe.
I bought the original set for approximately $130.
Two days later bought the second..
For $180. They jacked up the price.
Not cool guys.
I hope this helps.
I have been trying to find a good solutions for phone calls while driving.
The law (at least in CA) says you can’t cover your ears up. So speaker it is.
But I often struggle to hear the other person over road noise.
I thought these might be the perfect solution since it would get the sound right to my ears – but not cover them up.
Well – it’s just not loud enough to overcome road noise so it’s not much better than speakerphone.
The default volume for the voice (indicating the headphones have turned off, on, volume) is so low I can’t hear it at all over road noise.
For the office – it’s great. Clear sound. Long battery. Comfortable to wear for long periods. Nothing to jam into your ear. Unlike other headphones – I just leave these on my neck when not using which is way more convenient than something you carry in your pocket.
As someone with a hearing impairment I wanted headphones that didn’t completely cancel out outside noise and would use bone conduction versus in-ear for sound. These are great. Would totally recommend. I am on conference calls most of the day and this allows me to walk around, easily talk and hear clearly plus I can hear sounds from around me as well. Everything I wanted them for. For someone with longer hair you end up having to fiddle around it as it does stick out the back but it’s a minor issue. Portability with the case is also good. Would be interested to know how good they are without the extended microphone for use on calls.
I purchased the OpenComm headset about three weeks ago, and I use it primarily for video chats and video conferences. So far I haven’t encountered any PC connectivity/sound quality issues, as what other users had described or commented above. It functions as intended. However, the +/- sound volume button on the headset is not compatible with MS Teams or Zoom calls. It must be adjusted on the PC settings manually. The open ear headphone style keeps me aware of the surroundings. In addition, I don’t have to worry about certain silicon ear tips material will give me ear infection like symptoms. I wish OpenComm had offered (i) a mini version (like the Aeropex, the headband is 0.5″ shorter than the standard size that will fit me better); and (ii) USB C charging port. Aftershokz covers 2-year warranty, which is a plus. Overall, I would strongly recommend this product, an alternative to other leading brands.
When I first received this product I experienced a bunch of problems in Windows 10 and 11 when using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. My microphone would work, but my audio wouldn’t most of the time. It turns out that I was using a Bluetooth 4 dongle which doesn’t seem to be completely compatible with this headset. Switching to a Bluetooth 5 dongle (I bought an Asus BT500) solved all of my problems and it’s been perfect since. Would definitely recommend.
I use the headset for calls and to chat with friends on Discord when Zwifting. Comfortable for long use as they use bone conduction and don’t sit on or in ear. Small boom mic is good and seems to cancel surrounding noise, focusing on my voice. Controls are a little fiddly but I don’t consider this to be a showstopper. They are quite expensive but good quality and do a really good job for a bluetooth headset. I wouldn’t recommend these if you primarily want to listen to music – they sound okay but are not intended for this as primary function. If you want them for calls or Discord/gaming use, they are great. Picked mine up in Black Friday deal saving 25% (c. 35).
These were bought as a Christmas gift so unable to comment on use. However they get good reviews so I’m sure the recipient will be pleased. Delivery as usual from Amazon was very quick. Happy
Sometimes I could hear myself on the other side, otherwise it is awesome!

I normally work from home and I do a lot of Zoom calls with customers using a Jabra 750 speakerphone connected to my Mac to avoid the discomfort (heat, sweat, itchiness) you normally get from headphones after several hours of meetings. Since my wife also started working from home, and our meetings were interfering with each other, I wanted to go back to headphones.
I have to say the AfterShokz are VERY COMFORTABLE. They also have great listening sound quality, but several people have complained that now its much harder to hear me, and my voice occasionally cuts out at the start of sentences. It’s not terrible, but I do find myself having to repeat myself which is not great when I’m leading a meeting or training session.
I’m playing around with boom position and such, but it’s possible I may have to switch back to the Jabra if I can’t figure out the problem. Possibly there is a software update or something I can adjust on the noise cancelling if there is some kind of app for the device. Will update this if I find a solution.
If you like the bone conduction technology and you need a good headset for calls and you don’t mind paying a premium, this headset is for you. I have been using it for a few weeks and I love it. The mic quality is very good. I can tell when I listen to the recordings of my online meetings or when I use the mic test function in Zoom which is very handy. The battery lasts around 12 hours with a mix of video watching and calls. The best part is the recharging speed. Using the USB port on my laptop, this headset charges from empty to full in less than 40 minutes. The first time I charged it, I thought something was wrong. I don’t have any other electronic devices that can charge this fast. If you don’t want to pay the regular price, just wait for it to go on sale which is what I did.
The Open Comm wireless bone induction headset by AfterShokzis a great headset it is comfortable and lightweight. As soon as I started using it, my clients stopped asking if I was in a wind tunnel. It was easy to pair the headset to all of the devices I want to use it with but it will only connect with one device at a time. Unfortunately, they still haven’t fixed the issue with Micrsoft Teams and apparently have the same issue with Cisco Finesse which render the answer call and volume buttons useless for my work applications. However they do work fine and are easy to use with my personal cellphone, iPad, and Netflix. While I was disappointed with not being able to connect to both my cell and laptop at the same time, I am still pleased with my purchase as I had purchased the headset to get rid of my wired leash which seemed to always get tangled in my hair or flew off my head at the most inconvenient times.
Great piece of kit, connects easily, Not 5 stars as it doesn’t have a mute button other than that it’s perfect.

Absolutely love these, working from home they are a must and I really love how discreet they are. I lift the microphone bar and you can’t see I have them on. Really Comfortable.
I use in the car, In fact I pretty much don’t take them off in working hours.
I really did not want to spend this much, the budget was half the cost of these! They don’t have all the features other head sets have at this price, but I’m glad I took my time to search and read reviews. For comfort, simplicity and call quality, pricey but worth it.
I bought these so I could hear music while chatting on zoom calls with clients. They are excellent, you can hear crystal clear just like in ear or on ear headphones, people on the other end during calls cannot hear anything but your voice. I can’t comment on music quality as I only use these for voice calls.

In general, very nice, ergonomic, high quality product. Works amazingly for long phone calls. However, it’s not an ideal replacement to a regular headphones because of poor quality of the sound (inadequate frequency response). So I have to switch often.
Technically amazing, I loved it! So light, easy to use, I was amazed how good it sounded, and was hoping it could be something I could wear throughout the day.
But after just a few minutes they started to feel uncomfortable, and that progressed within 30mins to mild nausea. Checking reviews of these and other Bone Conductor headsets, some people are just affected that way. Sad I couldn’t adjust to using them, as really they are a technical marvel!
Klare Kaufenpfehlung!
P.S. funktioniert mit Skype for Business, Teams, Zoom, webex, GoToMeeting. 2 Gerte angezeigt, hier muss man Mono whlen.
Having read reviews I wasn’t expecting a lot from the sound quality – which is not so important for phone/zoom calls so I went ahead with the purchase. Having used them the sound quality is actually pretty good. Whilst not Bose or Sennheiser quality i’m happy to use them to listen to music and with the open ear design I don’t miss out on what’s happening around me.

They’ve improved the quality of my life. My ears no longer hurt from having earbuds rammed into them. It’s allowed me to keep making daily video calls through the pandemic, without pain or ear infections.
The battery life is fantastic. The charging isn’t as quick as some, but will do hours off a five minute charge.
The downsides, they are far too big for my head. It doesn’t affect the use of them, but there’s are huge solid loop of titanium sticking out at the back of my head. It’s like having a cupboard handle back there.
This means they get caught on the hood of my jacket, the back of the sofa etc. all the time.
It can’t be adjusted up or down without moving the earpieces into the wrong position. I have wondered if they could be bent with heat like glasses at an optician since there are titanium. But I haven’t dared try. I don’t know if there are any conductive parts in the band I could break.
These are really not made with long hair in mind. There pretty awful to wear with your hair down. I can’t put my hair over them because the loop at the back sticks out so far. Then because my hair is under them, it’s hard to get them in position on my ears. Just that part of my hair sort of has to go over and it looks pretty silly.
When I take them off, I have to carefully unwind my hair from them. I rarely get them off without some part get wrapped around them.
It’s fine when my hair is up and out of the way.
The audio quality is fine. You can feel the vibrations in your face at higher volumes which is sometimes nice for music. The sound is very centred in your head in a way other headphones can’t do. It lacks low end frequencies though.
Sometimes, when making a call the person on the other end can hear their own voice which is disconcerting. I think maybe when background noise is very high, or dense and something about the normally excellent noise cancelling microphone is going a little wrong.
Sometimes your own voice will dip up and down in volume too on a call. It’s still understandable, but makes it tiring to listen to.
The pros do outweigh the cons, but I feel like they need to work on a new strap design for females with smaller heads and long hair.
I quite critical because I have used many Bluetooth headsets and they are all very flawed in many regards. But these are by far my favourite so far, despite their problems.
I use these at work for 4-6 hours a day. Brilliant audio, super comfortable and excellent life of a single charge.
Worth the money.

Had this for a while now for home working using Microsoft Teams and Amazon Chimes. Sound quality is really good considering it’s not covering your ears and noise cancellation is decent. I don’t have problems hearing people and they can hear me well too. The little vibrating, tingly feeling of the bone conduction can by disorientating the first time you use it, but it’s so comfortable to wear all day, no sweaty or aching ears, which is what I wanted. It’s a shame that the onboard controls on the headset don’t work with Teams or Chimes, so things like muting and volume changing can only be done at the computer. That’s pretty useless if you wander from your PC while muted and suddenly need to speak. It’s also a bit confusing that it’s recognised as “headphones” and “headset” with different settings and different apps can sometimes recognise one mode or the other. Mine also has this thing where later in the day, with no changes to settings I can’t hear them and they can’t hear me. Only a reboot fixes it. A colleague with the same headset doesn’t have the same problem, so I suspect it’s PC related.
It’s a little pricy and disappointing that you don’t get a spare charge cable for what you pay, but it’s worth it for the comfort factor alone.
So glad I tried these! At last I can attend multiple online meetings, give webinar seminars, and record lectures without ending the day with painful or squashed ears from buds or headphones. They also connect to two gadgets at once, so I can answer the odd phone call as well as work on my laptop.
