Funciona y es fcil de configurar, pero para otros DAW que no sean ableton, no se encienden los led.
I really like this item but was extremely disappointed by the lack of help I received from AKAI when I asked for instructions on how to set it up with my DAW. The accompanying User Guide is not fit for purpose and only skims over the basics. The device itself is a lot of fun and pleasant to use. The faders and knobs all feel good and it sits neatly on my desk. Good value for money but you’ll have to spend some time figuring out how it all works. Would recommend though.
Although this integrates perfectly with Ableton Live as a control surface (ie: an 8 channel fader, mute, arm, pan & fx send controller), what I wanted was a midi controller with as many assignable items as possible. The Midimix does this really well. I use it to control Ableton stock synths and VST plugin Synths (Cherry Audio and IK Multimedia stuff and others). The 9 sliders, 20 buttons and 24 knobs are all assignable and you can really take control of a VST synth (or whatever) and leave the mouse alone. One gripe – the knobs are a little shallow, fine in the studio but a bit of a worry live I would imagine. It feels like a good quality item and is reassuringly weighty. Seventy quid! Just get one!

Bought this to replace a BCR2000 which died.
The unit is well built and I bought it primarily as a control surface for the EmissionControl2 granular synth.
The faders are ok and the rotary pots though slightly too short turn very smoothly.
Firstly, I had been looking at one of these for a while and my partner surprised me and she bought me one for Xmas.
Quick and easy to set up with Cubase Elements.
You can customise the faders and knobs by remapping them but I left faders as volume controls for each channel.
Mixing using this is a dream to do, no more faffing about with the software mixer where you can only adjust one fader at a time.
As already set in reviews and with the documentation, the lights do no work in Cubase and this is because of the way it’s programmed and beyond Akais control.
There are articles online where people have got the lights working by remapping the controls but I’m happy with it as is.
I’ve been using MIDI devices since it was released in the mid 80s and it’s come a very long way.

Does what it says : it’s a midi controler. Very little delay that is so small that I would not be scare to use this device for live performance. The Led doesn’t lights up with the Daw I use, it is Logic pro, but it really doesn’t bother me. So if you want to do automation with you daw, or that you just want to have full control of your different plugs-ins, or whatever you want to do with you Daw, this device will help you with it.
Looking forward to getting my mixes balanced, and adding expression to my keyboard parts with this awesome tool.
I got this to see if it would work with D-Pro for controlling our studio lights. It works great! Set up each row as R/G/B on the knobs, dim on the fader and used the various buttons for different cues. Works great!
Pros: Very well made knobs. Both sliders and knobs feel very high-end, nice and tight, which is ideal for sample switching. Light and small. Plug and play, no need for adapter, works with just the USB cord. Very easy to MIDI learn program any way you want.
Cons: Has some connectivity issues. one of the 3 drivers it needed had difficulty installing on my older Windows 7 and my newer Windows 10 machine. “USB device not successfully installed” message although it does show up in my NI Reaktor DAW. I can’t get its LEDs to work. I realise that ring lights around knobs is too much to ask for considering it’s USB powered, but I really wish the button lights worked, at least. It would also be nice if the knobs were just a tiny bit taller, and so easier to operate and if it had a more rectangular shape rather than a square. Or had a MIDI connection for other hardware capability. But I do realise that for a $108 device AKAI has done a rather impressive job

This works really well. I use FL Studios so I spent time finding the right code to make this work. It’s a bit of work and frustrating, I won’t lie, but when you get it to work it’s great. Much easier than making adjustments using your laptop and you can change multiple things at the same time which you can’t do on a laptop.
Excellent device. Nice sliders and knows, good quality. I use lots of virtual instruments that have various expression controls. This makes it so much easier.

Das Produkt ist schon sehr interessant. Qualitativ ist der MIDI-Mixer sehr gut. Die Knpfe haben einen guten Druckpunkt und auch die Schieberegler haben einen guten Widerstand. Da ich den Mixer fr die komnplette Regelung meines digitalen Mischpultes haben wollte und die Software (Voicemeeter) nicht die Funktionalitten hergegeben hat um den Mixer fr den aktuellen Preis auch ausgiebig zu nutzen habe ich mich entschieden, ihn zurck zu senden. Die Rcksendung lag somit nicht an dem AKAI Midimix sondern eher an der fr mich eingeschrnkten Nutzbarkeit.
Mit FL-Studio ist dieser Controller einfach noch zu stressig wegen des Mappen der einzelnen Funktionen.
Also wer es nur zur Nutzung von FL-Studio nutzen will, bitte was anderes suchen.
Fr VoiceMeeter ganz gut oder fr die berwachung mehrerer Kanle.
Die Drehknpfe sind leider sehr rutschig mit schwitzigen Fingern kaum drehbar, ein paar Rillen oder Gummiberzug auf den Knpfen wrden da Abhilfe schaffen.
Die Fader sind ganz gut sowie die Knpfe.
Im groen ganzen kann man damit viel anstellen, sehr universeller Midi-Controller.
Man muss halt einfach Verwendung damit haben, da es fr manche Sachen einfach kein (Plug in und gleich loslegen) gibt.
In Linux it is Plug ‘n’ Play, is detected by Linux, ALSA and Jack automatically (Debian 10 “Buster”) and is “OMG” so useful. Being able to physically adjust synth parameters rather than using a mouse makes the process of sound exploration REALLY fun.
It works in Amsynth, ZynAddSubFX, Helm as well as mappable to effects plugins in Carla … anything that has MIDI Learn, this will work. And provided it’s not connected to a synth, the buttons CAN be used to trigger on/off events (I tested this with SooperLooper).

Macht als Controller fr Cubase sowie diverser VSTs eine super Figur. Einzig nervt jedesmal die Neuzuweisung mittels *MidiLearn* der einzelnen Parameter eines Instruments. Nutze es auch als Controller fr Traktor 3 Pro. Hier lassen sich z.B. die Fader und Poties den 4 Decks zuweisen, u.a. auch bei den Stem-Decks. Ganz ohne Maus gehts aber auch hier nicht.
Trotzdem insgesamt toller Controller (bis auf die etwas zu kleinen Poties).
Ich bin kein Musiker oder DJ, aber ich nutze fr Online Meetings, Webinare und Streas viel verschiedene Hardware. Statt eines Hardware Mischpultes, verwende ich ein digitales, nmliche Voicemeeter. Damit ich aber auch Fader & Co richtig per Hand zu bewegen habe, und nicht nur per Maus Klicks, habe ich mir diesen Midi Controller gekauft, da VoiceMeeter die Funktionalitt hat, einen Controller zu Mappen. Das Mapping ist absolut simpel: Im Programm auf anlernen drcken, Button oder Regler bewegen, fertig. Die Buttons kann man ebenfalls per Makrofunktion zum Leuchten bringen per Note-On Befehl. Hat zwar etwas gebraucht, bis ich als Unwissender alles heraus gefunden habe, aber es ging. Empfehlenswert. Wie auch die anderen Controller vom gleichen Hersteller.
This is a lightweight tool that really helps get you away from the keyboard and mouse, and be far more effective with your DAW. I installed the included Ableton lite, and was not disappointed. Worth the $$$!
Benutze den AKAI Midimix fr Fruity Loops, und bin begeistert da sich alle Knobs & Fader frei konfigurieren lassen.
Whrend ich vorher versucht habe per YouTube heraus zu finden ob das mglich ist, begleitete mich aufgrund der wenigen Informationen beim Kauf ein mulmiges Gefhl fr den Preis.
Aber der ist absolut gerechtfertigt.
Durch die komplett freie Belegung kann man in Fl Studio theoretisch ein nahezu komplettes Plugin damit ansteuern, was ber “MidiLearn” oder “Last-Tweaked” mit 2 Handgriffen geht.

Chiedo scusa ufficialmente ad Akai trovato il.problema che non faceva funzionare pi il Midimixer , per ora lo devo testare meglio , comunque la sua configurazione se si sbaglia un attimo fa saltare tutto e non funziona pi .
El aparato en s est de lujo, pero tuve problemas al instalar.
Tena Ableton Live 9 y la superficie de control no apareca.
Tras aadir el script a la carpeta, por fin pude hacer que me reconociera los faders y los knobs, pero el PadLeft y el PadRight ni siquiera se encendan.
Mi compaero trabaja con el 10, y al conectarlo, lo reconoci instantneamente.
As que realmente el nico problema fue la incompatibilidad con mi versin de software, que he solucionado actualizando a Ableton Live 10.
Tambin me gustara aadir que no he encontrado forma de hacer que sea compatible con ProTools, y en Internet es la norma general.
Segn se comenta, hay que usar un emulador de otro APC, as que si usas ProTools, no te renta.
Excellente console j’utilise coupl avec LR lightroom tout est trs sensible et marche parfaitement pour le dveloppement photo les potentiomtres sur un peu petits je songerai les changer pour des boutond un peu plus longs
Como todos los productos de AKAI buena calidad, los fardes y knobs son agradables al tacto, buen funcionamiento. Se echaba de menos un controlador de este tipo.
Il primo ordine stato smarrito… Il secondo arrivato in tempo. Il controller ottimo per gestire le clip su resolume.

Deducted the one star because the only lights i can get to work on the buttons are the track bank ones. Not sure why another button configured the same wont light. Would be really great to have the mute and arm buttons able to toggle the ligh
Funktioniert echt gut bei Ableton aber leider funktioniert es bei Fruity Loops Studio 11 nicht richtig und muss alle Regler und Kpfe einzeln selber zuweise
This is good enough for what i want, just automating track faders, pan, mute and record-arm in Sonar, but the LEDs don’t work with Sonar since the ACT protocol isn’t bi-directional.
This also came in it’s retail box with no packaging at all.
Ich verwende das Gert zum steuern der CC-Parameter fr meine Orchestral Music Production.
Die Fader haben eine gute Haptik und der Schiebeweg fhlt sich meiner Meinung nach lnger an als er tatschlich ist.
Die Knpfe haben einen sehr definierten, angenehmen Druckpunkt.
Lediglich die Drehregler sind etwas friemelig zu bedienen da sie recht rutschig sind.
Das Zuweisen der einzelnen Parameter fr die Fader hat mit der Software superschnell und problemlos geklappt.
Was mich aber eigentlich erst so richtig begeistert hat war, dass man den Knpfen nicht nur CC-Commands sondern auch Noten zuweisen kann.
Klingt zunchst vielleicht nicht unbedingt ntzlich aber da man dem Controller auch Noten auerhalb des Tastenumfangs eines Klaviers zuweisen kann ist diese Funktion sehr praktisch.
In diesem Bereich liegen nmlich in der Regel die Key-Switches fr die verschiedenen Artikulationen der Instrumente die man somit in Echtzeit leicht bedienen kann.
Einfach im MIDIMix Editor (in dem brigens warum auch immer eine Reihe Knpfe mehr angezeigt wird als das Gert tatschlich besitzt) den Modus der Buttons auf “Note” ndern und dann die entsprechende Zahl eingeben. Das C-2 hat die 0, das C#-2 die 1 u.s.w.
Fr mich war das ein Game-Changer und hat meinen Workflow definitiv positiv beeinflusst.
Wenn Ihr also Orchestral Music produziert oder jegliche andere Art von Musik, bei der man viele Key-Switches bettigen muss ist das hier mglicherweise genau der richtige Controller.
Mit der Steuerung der DAW habe ich mich brigens nicht befasst und kann mich deswegen dazu nicht uern, das war aber auch nicht der Zweck fr den ich das Gert vorgesehen hatte.
Alles in Allem kann ich also nur eine volle Kaufempfehlung aussprechen und fnf Sterne geben.

I use it to control mu stage lighting. Program I use is DMXIS and it recognizes the MidiMix fine
Had to download their drivers 1st, but all is good in lighting land these days
Pros:
– Plug n’ play
– Solid construction, lightweight and slim faders and knows that makes it portable.
Cons:
– LED for buttons work only with specific software (Not my case for Resolume)
– Knob’s have no texture, what makes it slippy for fry fingers

I’m happy with my akai midimix I haven’t quit figured it out totally yet, but I’m happy about getting this it’s my 4th piece, which I own the APC40mk2, APC MINI, APCKEY25 an this bad boy. Can’t wait to figure it all out thou, there’s so much you can do, an I’m sure if you like creating music this is a must have
Great unit especially for the price. Build quality is solid as you would expect and has plenty of functionality. Beware that straight out of the box it might not map to the DAW of your choice (I use reason 10) and as such, I’ve had to map it manually which at times has been a nightmare. If you can get it to work, then you’re in for a treat. Oh, and the lights don’t work in reason whatsoever.
Habe mir das Mischpult gekauft, da ich es nicht eingesehen habe 200 fr ein Lightroommischpult zu bezahlen. Wurde nicht enttuscht angeschlossen, 2 Minuten nach der Software gegoogelt, 10-15 min zum einstellen der Software und seit dem immer im Einsatz. Endlich kein lstiges Balken Geschiebe mehr per Maus.Fr jeden der viele Bilder bearbeitet sehr zu empfehlen (Alternativ zu den teuren Gerten)

Lo he probado nicamente en FL Studio, y responde con una velocidad y soltura que es los que se espera de Akai. Lo veo tambin perfecto para alguien que quiera empezar a hacer pequeos directos con Ableton Live. La dureza de los knobs y faders perfecta. Muy recomendable.

The usb on the back can be a bit finicky at times but I am confident it was because this was a used model.
Besides that works as expected. I use it for Voice Meter Banana, so if anyone has questions about that let me know.

Although it is possible to use this in other applications than ablton live, I found it very difficult to connect, Also there usually isn’t support for the lights under the buttons on most software.

I use this with a piece of software called midi2LR as a control surface to speed up my image editing in LightRoom. The sliders and knobs are smooth and nicely laid out.

Ce contrleur est parfait pour moi, en 1h d’essai je l’ai adopt !! j’ai dj tiquet tout les potentiomtres et il n’en manque pas 1 seul.
Sous lightroom j’ai pu plac tout les rglages dont j’avais besoin et mme certains dont je ne me servait pas et qui grce ce contrleur me permettent de peaufiner encore plus mes rglages.
Je valide 100% ce contrleur pour un usage sous lighroom. J’ai, aprs 2 jours d’utilisation, ressay de faire mes modifs la souris…. J’ai eu l’impression de revenir au moyen-age !!

Muy fcil e intuitivo. En mi caso no necesito ni el software que trae. Conociendo bien tu secuenciador puedes hacer maravillas con todos los potencimetros. Creo que el precio es competitivo. Lo recomiendo para lives y facilitar las tareas en mstering.

Works with my DAW out of the box. all knobs and sliders can be mapped how you want.
MINUS – fully compatible only with Ableton, which means that every functionality you programmed into will be working with your particular DAW (Cubase, Sonar etc) , but no bells or whistles like colour-lit buttons will be available. You can get used to it but knowing the state of a particular pushbutton usually helps in controlling the mix. Also, the fader precision is not the biggest, so you need to have a light hand with it.
Lovely device and well made with good quality feeling plastics for the price. The rotary controls are a little bit slippy – a case of style over function – but still very useable despite that.
In use I found that it was a little problematic with dropped connections etc unless plugged directly into a USB port on my machine rather than via a powered USB hub, so if you are limited with the number of USB ports on your machine, you may want to bear this in mind.
Something also to note is that when connected to Cubase, none of push buttons illuminate. They do work and are sending MIDI commands which are acted on, but without illumination the physical utility of the on/off buttons is reduced.

Perfect for MIDI performance, lots of variable pots and sliders. The software allows you to map any MIDI setting to any pot/slider for full customisation.
Gli slider sono molto scorrevoli e di buona corsa media. I potenziometri rotativi sono di buona qualita’. I pulsanti danno un buon riscontro tattile alla pressione. Unico punto negativi sono le manopoline rotative che tendono a sfuggire alle dita durante la regolazione. Questo e’ dovuto alla particolare forma a cono rovesciato che non e’ l’ideale per la presa con le dita.
Il software di programmazione, da scaricare dal sito Akai, e’ buono e semplice, ma ha qualche bug in lettura della situazione corrente. Quindi dopo che si sono modificati i valori e salvati sul controller la rilettura non sempre e’ corretta.
Basta ricordarsi di riavviare il pc dopo il primo collegamento con il cavo usb e poi funziona perfettamente. Ottima la funzione di reset cursori che legge la posizione attuale dei potenziometri e ricalibra automaticamente gli stessi

Il controller pi comodo che abbi mai avuto tra le mani. Leggero, veloce da mappare, adatto per i live con funzioni per raggiungere le funzioni desiderate in modo immediato, grazie ai tasti laterali per cambiare pagina.
Non posso che dire buon divertimento per chi lo acquister!
I was after something compact to use in my setup which would be dedicated to my live set in Ableton and this fits the bill perfectly. Didn’t need any software setup etc., just plug in and go.
It’s well made and looks like it’ll take a bit of abuse in the laptop bag etc. The only tiny niggle is the rotary knobs are a little bit shallow so may be a bit fiddle for live use, but in the home studio it’s fine and otherwise it’s a great unit so not going to mark it down.
molto utile e comodo sia nell’utilizzo che nel trasporto. Forse migliorabili le seconde funzioni dei tasti, magari se aggiungessero qualche altro comando per rendere tutto ancora pi fluido sarebbe ottimo.
The knobs are a bit small for my liking. I like big knobs, I have no problem admitting that, although little ones do the job just fine they are just not as satisfying!
It doesn’t work with Logic (that I use) so well, no template and the lights don’t work so great without messing about, and the send all function does not work (no big deal for me). Spend a bit of time with midi mapping and its useable, but I am inherently lazy and I really just like things to work when I plug them in, so a bit of an anti climax there for me. It feels like Logic was a bit of an afterthought compared to Ableton (which I don’t use) with which everything lights up lovely and works fantastically pretty much straight out of the box.
All in all a good bit of kit, just the smallish knobs and lack of compatibility with Logic that let it down for me.
I have 5 different synths mapped and have created some overlays to put over the controller so I know which knob controls which parameter – Oscillators, LFO, Filter, Envelope etc. – it gives the convenience and cost of soft synths but with the feel (almost) and ergonomics of programming a hardware device.
This does take some tinkering – it is easy to do but takes time because there are 33 controls to map and it is worth taking time to plan out how to layout the controls.
There are also 20 buttons on the MidiMix – but I haven’t found a use for those yet.
Also comes with Ableton Live Lite – loaded it and tried it but gave up so that I could program some synths in Reaper.

Excellent midi controller for Ableton. Enough knobs to control many VST parameters at once i.e. several different synths or effects etc. Also good for mixing but not restricted to that.
