Just got it, so far so good
Just set my camera. Everything is easy to set up. I’m not great at tech stuff but this is easy. So far working well. It has lots of good features and linked to my phone from the AKASO GO APP.

Action Camera
Having spending hours on end trolling reviews and comparing models, I decided on the AKASO and I am glad we have done so.
A simple piece of kit which does the job, records well with a decent quality image and easy to work on the app.

Very nice camera for the price!
This is a really good medium range camera. The GoPro has a better image/video quality overall, but the Akaso has a superior battery life and the quality of the pictures and videos is still more than acceptable (see here some examples I took underwater using the Akaso). For 1/4 of the GoPro price, I find this an excellent camera!
T'rific little camera!
I just can’t see the benefit of spending hundreds of on a go-pro or similar when this 7 LE does just a fantastic job of it all. Ok the image stabilisation isn’t anywhere near as good as the premium cameras but for beginners/intermediates it’ll definitely do the job really well. Pic quality is stunning, so is underwater capabilities.
Highly recommend this camera to anyone at a similar level as me 🙂

Was looking for a good camera for travelling. After months, this one kept coming up in reviews as highly recommended. Definitely good job I chose this as it’s exceeded my expectations, especially within this price range too.

Well priced action camera
Purchased to use while travelling. Reviews suggest it is good value for money compared to some of the other more expensive competitors. Purchase and delivery, app download for my iPhone and the warranty registration has been easy so far. Initial thoughts are, it feels robust and I look forward to using it.
Great value and performance action camera
Really pleased with this. Took it into the ocean and got some great footage while snorkelling of the fish and scenery. Easy to download to mobiles too. Great price with it coming with a host of accessories too.
Ideal 'dashcam' for my cycling.
All fine – Design wise, would suit a tape / ribbon inside the waterproof case to easily extract the camera. At present time need to give the front case a tap to dislodge the camera and ease pick it out.
It comes with everything you need, the picture and video quality is great and is fast and simple to use. I also use this as a dashcam, i tried both 1080 and 4K and both work perfectly – i prefer 4K if i’m driving scenic routes. I also use this on my bike and scooter and again it performs well. For the price i paid for this i was sceptical as to its ability, it meets my needs and i no longer have to shell out for the Gopro that i was initially looking for.

Great value camera very good underwate
Bought this for some snorkeling trips in the Maldives and it didn’t disappoint. picture quality was great underwater. the wireless connection to transfer files to my phone worked OK but was very very slow. that would be my only criticism of the camera overall. The only other thing that I had issues with was being able to see the screen on bright days when just below the surface. However, that is more likely because my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be. I can’t honestly say whether its better than a go pro or not as I have never tried a go pro but what I can say is that it is much much cheaper than a go pro and did a brilliant job of catching my underwater pictures.
The Akaso Brave 7 LE is really good value for money, to sum it up it does 95% of what the Go Pro does at a quarter of the price…..if you are not a real camera nerd this could be the camera for you. I really like the user interface which is simple and can be easily used when it is in the waterproof case which is also really good and rugged so you do not have to keep worrying about knocking the camera about. As everything pretty much comes in the box you can chuck it in your bag, on your bike, and forget about it until you need it and it is ready to go. The battery life is good and with a 128 Gb SD card, you can take a lot of video and not have to download until you get back from holiday. The best way to download is via a USB cable to your PC or phone as it is really quick to download big files, I think a WiFi interface is overrated and a gimmick on all the action cameras (ie it is too slow.) Really happy with this camera, it’s a real bargain.
Great action camera for hiking
I have been looking for an action camera for some time to accompany me on hiking and camping trips but was reluctant to pay out for premium brands. The AKASO Brave 7 is an excellent bit of kit for the price, captures images and videos in high quality and has an excellent mic for audio. The image stabilisation makes videos smooth and easy to watch and prevents the bounce you normally get from filming with a phone.

Nice upgrade from my budget (but still good quality) action cam. Quality! Weightier than my previous one (in a good way) the feel is more premium. The one thing I will note is the original “main” connectors differ slightly to the clips on most, so I have had to use an old clip for my paddle board. Other than that the quality is great, phone connection is a lot better than my previous camera. Nice dual screen for selfies. Touch screen works great. Taking it on holiday to Cornwall next week so will be the real test.
Not very robus
Was in its waterproof cover mounted on dash when I got on the ferry in Dublin. When I got off the ferry in France it had 2 cracks down the front of it. Still in waterproof case mounted on dash. Really bad quality!

I returned the item and received a full refund so have changed to a 4 star as service was decent. I still had to pay 7 postage as Amazon said they couldn’t send me a return label as was outside the 30 days…
I bought this camera to replace my Gopro which I lost. I use this camera on my commute on my bike on the rear of my seat post . The camera works best on 1080p 30 loop for cycling. Overall good picture bit fidelity to set up , wifi not bad app is good and you can see all your recordings on there and you can delete better on there than camera touch screen can go off on its own sometimes but once you get use to it ,its ok I would give it 8.5% out of 10
The Akaso Brave 7 LE is a great, well built, rugged 4K action camera that comes with a host of accessories so that it can be attached to almost anything and as well as having a sturdy waterproof case.
I bought it as I wanted to easily shoot some footage while doing a course in film editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and not wanting to heft loads of camera equipment around. The settings are simple to use, as is the touch screen and I guess the front screen is great for bloggers.
I have attached it to my mountain bike cycling in the forest, to my lurcher running wild and mounted it on a monopod and walked around with it — the image stabilisation is pretty good although I guess you would need a gimble if you wanted perfectly smooth footage, but for moving image and dynamic shots it works a treat. The spare battery is handy as two batteries will allow you to fill a 64GB memory card.
The Akaso Brave 7 LE’s compactness and quality build means its great just to have with you whenever you are out to catch those special moments or out of the ordinary events far better than you can on a phone.

Good quality versatile action camera
Camera is used skydiving and giving coaching feedback so the image stabilisation is vital. The front screen is useful to ensure the right framing is set up before exit. I’ve also used it for scuba diving with the waterproof case getting excellent video and good underwater sound capture. It’s been a great little purchase

First Action Camera
Wanted an action camera for a while. Choose Akaso as it appeared VFM. I wasn’t disappointed. As with many I couldn’t get the editing app to work, but after an update all seems good.
Can’t wait to try it when snorkeling on my next holiday.

A great camera in a small footpri
I like the instructions, they cover everything including how to use the remote. I also like how the control and menus work. The quality on the videos I’ve taken whilst walking my dog are really good. Have to say though I’m not keen on the front screen can’t see a use for that but that is my only negative comment and it’s just my view. I use it to take videos of my dog when we are out walking.
Picture and video quality are amazing
I like the compact size as it is very easy to carry around when I’m out and about. I tend to use the camera for nature shots and the video function for green screen compositing as the super wide choice is very useful when I have limited space.
Akaso Brave 7 LE - Brilliant - packs a punch
I wanted to upgrade from my basic action camera but still didn’t feel I could justify the cost of the mainstream brand.
I saw this, watched some reviews and thought it must be too good to be true for the money (but then that would have meant all of the reviews were wrong.)
I decided to give it ago and see for myself and I wasn’t disappointed. Simple to use and navigate.
Build quality is excellent, accessories galore and comes with two batteries and a charger.
Image and video quality is fantastic compared to what I was used to and for someone who just wants to record and enjoy holiday trips and days out, this provides excellent footage. The main test will be when we go on our regular safari game drive holiday early next year and it’s mounted to our car over rough terrain – an added benefit is that I don’t need to worry about the chance of rain and putting it inside it’s case.
I’m yet to try out the waterproof capacity without the case when swimming but to be honest, I’d probably use the case anyway for that added protection.
A word of advice though – don’t make the mistake I made initially. I watched some footage back on the camera and was dissatisfied with the sound and video quality. Once you view/download onto your phone, tablet or computer etc, all your worries will go away. Obviously the speaker and screen on the camera can only do so much.
I don’t know how Akaso have packed so much into something so small and kept the price down. Whilst those more professional than me may see the difference against top end models, 99% of people like me will just love this.
An amazing alternative to very expensive action cameras
Why pay more for GoPro when the Akaso does almost everything it does. The only difference I found was that you have to switch manually between the rear and front screen where on GoPro you don’t. If Akaso fixed this small glitch GoPro would have a serious contender to deal with.

bought this for a holiday that would involve lots of water play – very happy with picture quality and mic was better than I expected after reviews. Only one thing which was irritating was that pressing the remote with the underwater camera casing on, meant sometimes videos didn’t start to record and we lost some action 🙁

Perhaps I'll never need a GoPro?
I have just booked a holiday to Thailand and want to record my time and experiences in the crystal clear waters and amazing scenery – so what better way than to buy an adventure camera?
Having owned four GoPros before, I thought I’d try a camera which was offered one-third of the price but had the same spec and most other features – hence the AKASO Brave 7 LE Action Camera. Initial unpacking was very similar to previous cameras – but with two batteries to start and a bunch of accessories thrown in. I did get a bit confused as the camera comes mounted on the box with what looks like a very useful flat surface mount 0 but appears to be permanently connected to the packaging.
All in all – first impressions are very good, and only time will tell if it can live up to the water and sand of a tropical beach!

Great quality, Value of money and
I was so happy to use this for my first trip in Greece to take a good video of turtle and other water subjects. The camera was working very well and as it is a waterproof item, I did not worry at all while I was using in the water. Although, I was using the camera in water with the protective cover (which come with the product), and it gives a really good photoshops and videos that I was thinking of filming. It gives a dreamy aura and it also gives a clear photos and video shoot.

Did a lot of research. Found that feedback on the Brave 7 was poor regarding microphone which I was sad about as I like the larger memory. Looked at the se and was cheaper and for what I need seems to tick all boxes. Looking forward to seeing how it copes on a run on a selfie stick.

As soon as you hold the camera you can feel how well made it is. Clear screens, easy interface, does exactly what it should.
Excellent but of kit.
I had a previous version from Akaso and really liked it but didn’t like the fact that it went in a case to make it waterproof. This one is waterproof without the case unless you want to go really deep. For me as a canoeist it is great as it works well with the remote control.
That brings me to my first gripe. I wish the remote control was waterproof. I have to put it in a clear dry bag to solve that problem.
My second gripe is that you can’t tell if it’s recording when the lens is facing you. The screen on the front is good and there is a little icon that shows it’s recording. But the previous model had a red flashing light that could be seen from further away both above and the front. I miss that.
However if that’s all I have to complain about it means it’s a really good bit of kit.
I would consider buying another one.
This Just Works
I’m going to be using the camera for motorbike riding footage once I’ve got the attachments stuck in the right place.
Great pics, vids and very stable.
Found easy to set up and use, picture quality very good, fixed to helmet and worked perfect on MTB trails.
I chose Akaso simply because of the price difference between it and the market leading Go-Pro devices, and having seen the images it produces I’m not sure why Go-Pro is so expensive.
I chose this camera because I wanted 4k and the ability to invert the image as the camera is attached underneath the port wing of a QuikR microlight, others in the Akaso range do not have the option to be upside down, or if they do they don’t do 4k30fps.
Recording at 4k30fps with high quality each 4Gb file was 10 minutes of video. With a 64Gb file that means you would get 64/4 = 16 video files at 10 minutes each = 160 minutes or 2 hours 40. Depending on how efficiently it uses the card you may lose a little of that so maybe 2 hours 10?
The attached image of the aircraft landing was taken from live video recording 4k30fps without image stabilisation and the aircraft would have been moving at about 45mph; I took the image by exporting it from the video using iMovie on a MacBook. As you would expect detail is lost on the background as it is moving past at in excess of 60 feet per second and the camera is only operating at 30fps (so I may try 1080P120fps next time), but the plane in the foreground is detailed; the day itself was only about 7k visibility and overcast so the sky looks murky because it was!
Looking at the photo I’ll try image stabilisation next time as you can see movement on my passenger’s leg, and as the wing is also flexing slightly there is a slight blur on other aspects of the plane. I have noticed images are better on brighter days and this was very dull and it rained only minutes later.
Comparing it with my previous HD camera the image is a step up in quality, and given the tough operating conditions of being on a wing doing at times 90mph exposed to the elements I’m impressed with the camera.

I’m being honest this cmara it’s really good, quality without the case it’s , it’s waterproof without the case so you don’t need to worry about using the case. I recommend this product if you use it like a dash cam or sport camera 9/10.
Only thing it’s that with the case the quality reduce not big difference but less quality.
Amazing action camera
After a lot of research I decided to purchase the Akaso Brave 7 LE and Love it.
It included a firmware update that allows you to use an external Akaso microphone with the action camera.
The battery lasts for ages, the build quality is very good and the footage it takes is great.

I bought this camera for our holiday. I was supposed to go for a Gopro but changed my mind due to the price. Overall it is excellent.
Unboxing it comes with a whole range of extras such as a spare battery – waterproof case, mounts for different activities.
I was drawn to it due to the dual screens. This makes it easy for blogging.
Image quality is excellent in good lighting. when the lighting is poor not so good – so bear that in mind.
I read that the sound does not work with the case on, but we did not find this. We got good sound quality even with the case on.
Image stabilisation seems good although I have not baseline comparison.
Overall for the price it is excellent and having the accessories and bits makes it an excellent buy
Perfect for cycling to work and recording inverts
I really liked the number of accessories included with it. Made it much easier to decide how I wanted to fit it. I have used it on my bicycle handle bats, only downside is the wind noise but I’m a cyclist and it’s more for the image quality. Also used it for filming my invertebrates at meal time.

We decided to get ourselves an action cam for our holidays for zip lining, sea kayaking, and as a easily portable video camera.
After researching many models we went for the AKASO Brave 7 LE and have been very happy with our choice. Easy to navigate, sturdy (accidentally dropped it onto concrete), quick postage, 2 screens for easy video.
Images are clear, video stable, decent battery life especially with 2 batteries included, and sound is good quality. Definitely going to be the first thing to pack for each trip
Great value
This little camera is great value and easy to use. The app is okay and the live view is a couple of seconds behind but still worth it. I have it on a radio controlled car and the quality is brilliant. Easy to get the video off and lots of accessories are useful too.

The AKASO Brave 7le is a great action camera, I’ve used it on my bike and as a body camera while doing security, the picturs/video are great and clear and easy to upload, the image stability was OK for my needs.

I took this camera to florida with me and it did a great job for a budget action cam. Very happy with it. Battery life was fine for what I needed and 2 battery’s lasted for the full 20 days with very light usage but still impressive

Purchased camera for an upcoming holiday, will mainly use it for water sport activities.
Haven’t recorded any footage yet but set up was quick and easy.
Have no previous experience with action cameras so can’t compare it to others but 1st impressions are very good, build quality good & easy to use.
Don’t think you can go wrong for the money
This is a very good entry-level action camera with the look and feel of a GoPro but at a much more affordable price point. The camera has a very wide range of image settings and the front-facing screen screen is a real bonus at this price. The only negative for me is the poor quality microphone and there being no option to connect to an external mic. hence the 4-star review.

Was very disappointed with this action cam. I wanted to use it for filming walking trips out and about, the first issue was the battery life, it lasted about 20 mins per battery and that was short bursts of video. I also found that you cannot zoom in while the camera is recording which is something that would be needed if filming mountains etc.
UPDATE: The customer service from Akaso themselves has been exceptional (especially Jessica). They really could not have done more to improve my user experience with them. I would happily give a 5* for the customer service.
Great first action cam
Agonised over which one to buy. After hundreds of YouTube reviews went for the Brave 7 LE. Picture quality is brilliant. Packaging good but very different from the reviews which was strange. Accessories crammed somewhat but all present. Batteries fully charged out of the box.
Only negative is the sound which frankly ain’t good. Will see if there is a firmware update that may address that. Also doesn’t accept an external Mike which at this level is a disappointing aspect as the sound is poor.
Great Value Camera
I was looking for an adventure camera to fit on my Kayak that would give me good quality video. I have to say that I have been very impressed with this especially since the price is a lot cheaper than than the likes of a gopro. I find the picture quality to be good, although havent got a gopro to compare it with, but for my outdoor day shots it has been very clear.
The waterproof case has allowed me to take some underwater shots that really have come out well.
All in all a very good value camera that I’m very happy with.
Does exactly what i wanted
I didnt want to waste a lot of money on the worlds leading brand and put it into this enviroment, but for a fraction of the cost the Akaso Brave 7 LE looked to me to be the best alternative action camera. It performed exactly as i suspected it would. We took it into this firehouse at work for just a few minutes and captured some amazing footage with it. The whole kit that came has everything you would ever need to get you going, spare batteries, fixings, mounts, everything. Even the packaging was impressive. Great product. Rich

Akaso Customer Services read my original Amazon review below and reached out to me via email. They have been very proactive and supportive since I bought my camera. They were concerned that I was a bit disappointed with my purchase and wanted to make things right with either a refund or another camera FOC. I opted for a new camera, wondering what they would supply. They sent another identical camera, which I am very grateful for – 2 is better than 1! After using the original camera more I am a bit more impressed by its EIS and 2.7K/60FPS smoothness but I still think it ultimately lacks its 4K performance. However, I have raised the camera rating from 3 to 4 stars overall.
I can honestly say that Akaso Customer Services does get a full 5 star rating – they have been excellent, responsive and genuinely appear to care about their customer’s experience with their products. It’s been a very positive experience.

The appeal of this cost effective, feature leaden action camera made me decide to try it out.
The 4k spec’, other features and accessories pack supplied are a big draw but ultimately the camera image quality is just not good enough. You can get decent quality video with very high light levels but its doesn’t feel or look 4k levels of quality. In anything other than very bright light then the video quality drops off pretty horrendously, quickly getting all smeary and blurry. The inbuilt image stabilisation is useful up to a point, but not stellar – a gimbal system is required. I just don’t think the sensor is that good and I think AKASO might be trying to mask its shortfalls with other high-end features. The touch screen system is pretty slick and responsive, however.
GoPro’s are really over-priced but if you need high quality action cam video, in this case I guess you have to pay.
They try to lure you in with a high spec and a good price – but ultimately the camera isn’t quite good enough.
Disappointing
This is a fantastic little action camera for the price. I bought this camera to record road trips and for it’s price it does a very good job. The camera itself feels good and is well made, I was expecting it to feel cheap to be honest but I’m pleased to say that wasn’t the case. Picture quality is good with surprisingly good stabilisation considering my ride can be quite shaky at times, especially off road, it’s no GoPro in terms of stabilisation but it costs a quarter of the price of the latest GoPro so no complaints there.
The software was easy to use and does what I need. it came with all the mounts needed to attach it to things like helmets but unfortunately that’s where we lose a star because the materials used aren’t up to the job. 3 of the clips broke while clipping the mount in. I had to buy some others from a different company in the end. This was the only downside to what is otherwise an excellent budget camera that I still recommend.

I’m amazed by the price. Feels rugged and perfect for my needs. After checking loads of reviews and comparing all of the Akaso models this one came out tops with screens on both sides (the small front one is handy for framing shots but that’s about all!). Double battery with charger is fantastic and there were a load of extras in box. Only pity is tgat you can’t add an external mic. Being water resistant without the waterproof case is excellent for the price. Glad I didn’t spend a fortune on a Go Pro – this should be spot on for my holiday and means if it did get lost then I wouldn’t have spent a fortune.
Performs very well
Camera was purchased to replace one that was not working properly and did not record efficiently. The Brave 7 LE is much better, it seems very reliable (only used ‘in anger’ twice so far) giving good results and performance. It is used for cycle rides of about three hours so the two batteries are perfect as they last for about 1 hour 40 minutes each on the setting used (1080p 60fps). The remote control works well and makes starting and stopping the camera easy even when ‘togged up’ for cycling with gloves etc. The image stabilization delivers a rock steady image even when traversing rough terrain (I ride a hybrid bike on roads and tracks). Very pleased with the camera so far.
