Brought this to attach to my car: works a treat bolted to the rollbar. At speed sound isn’t great but can’t expect otherwise; have brought the plug in microphone so expect that will improve. Picture quality is excellent for the money and highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for a budget action camera seeing that a GoPro was 400+ and I came across this camera.
I have been using it for a month and I am nothing but surprised how well it works. I wanted a camera for riding on my motorcycle. The image stabilisation really good, the video stays in place to the point it feels unnatural even. Quality of the image is also great. I’m recording in 1080p60fps to conserve the battery, but the images looks great and clear. Audio isn’t not the best, but it does the job. I can’t really complain and definitely do not regret my purchase!

Bought this product and set it up using the Samsung evo select 64GB micro sd, as suggested from the supplier.

Set us is almost automatic, menu’s are intuitive and attachments all look of a decent quality.

I’ve been unable to test the battery life so far but it comes with 2 so that should be more than enough.

Build quality really nice and image/video quality really good.

Great value for money and would recommend to anyone.

2nd day of our holiday and used the camera while snorkelling, within mins of use the case had filled with water, on further inspection and testing it was the front seal around the lens that was defective and let water in. Contacted the manufacturer and they replaced the item with no issues

The camera comes with loads of fixing options, all are very good quality. The description says max 64gig card, however I am using a 128gig card and it works perfectly fine. One thing to note is that in the settings it gives you the option to change the codec settings from H.264 which gives just over 4 hours recording to H.265 this then allows over 8 hours recording in highest quality! The H.265 is the newer better compression of video. I use mine with the waterproof case on and you can still hear noise/ people talking etc. The two batteries have lasted the times I have been out normally a couple of hours, but they may last longer as they get used.
The stabilization is very good even going over rough ground the video is still very smooth and clear.
This camera is perfect for my needs and I highly recommend it.

I did a lot of research into different action cameras before buying this, I wanted a camera that produced decent videos and didn’t want to pay GoPro prices.

The video quality is great, I mostly use the camera mounted on a helmet strap whilst out horse riding. The image stabilisation is great. The sound quality is also better than I expected and I’ve been pleased with the results every time.

The audio is muffed unfortunately. I used a 32Bit SD card and apparently the video footage I recorded was overwritten with new data. It’s Ok for bike rides, but make sure that you use at least 64Bit SD card as you may lose footage.

Brought this for my horse riding mad daughter…..
easy to use and even easier to transfer files…
comes with lots of fittings however I did have to buy an additional mount for her riding hat, as the one provided wasn’t quite fit for purpose
Would definitely recommend, it’s not the prettiest thing to wear, surprised more designers havent gone with the cigar shape…however as I said everything else is spot o

I’m very happy with this item. The quality of the camera is excellent and the camera itself is very straight forward to operate. Initially found it a bit difficult to understand how to attach the mounts from the instructions manual. I’ve used it on my bike and when wild swimming and the photo quality is excellent. The video quality is also good, maybe not so good as photos – but excellent for the price. I would recommend this camera for fun casual use.

I bought the EK7000 a few weeks ago and was very pleased with it, however my wife decided that she would like it so I bought the AKASO V50 pro for myself. It is a superb piece of kit, it has quite a few features that the EK7000 does not like image stabilisation, time lapse video and better lip sync. I cannot fault this camera at all. It feels robust and well made, no problems with any of the operations. ACASO have an exceptionally good customer service, any queries or anything are always answered promptly and there is a real willingness to help.

Great camera, absolutely worth the price! A lot of great accessories, mounts.

The picture and video quality seems absolutely good enough for the price.
The only problem I encountered is with the remote, which is almost impossible to use, as it works maybe 1 times out of every 10

My wife and kids brought me an aerobatic flight experience for my 40th birthday, as I wanted to record this moment to treasure I opted for an action camera to mount in the cockpit. Researched a few cameras, gopro, some cheaper cameras most reviews said the cheaper cameras do not record in true 4k. Gopro was out of my price range but read about this camera and read all reviews for Akaso V50 Pro. Well. if you want an action camera and budget of 100 then go for this camera, the detail and sharpness of the video is one of the best I’ve ever seen for an action camera and it records in 4k native. Image stability was turned on the planes propeller would give off alot of vibrations and the flight would be doing tight turns, going vertical and loops, viewing the image you can not even notice the vibration on the video.
I also brought an SD card 64gb, on the packaging it says upto 64gb can be supported I havent tried any higher storage capacity, 64gb with 4k 30fps will give about 2hrs of recording. 2 batteries included and loads of accessories that I will probably use over time, different mounts, handlebar mount, waterproof case upto 96ft depth. The kids will probably use it on there scooters on the skate park to capture videos sometime soon.
I also uploaded some stills from the video for this review

Amazing Camera for Aerobatic Flight, a must buy for any action video capturing

TL;DR version: It’s great for the price. You have to pay a lot more to get anything that is significantly better, and if you have the budget for that, you’re probably not looking at this camera anyway. In this price bracket, I doubt you’ll find much better.

    Full review:

We were looking for a small camera for cycling and general use on days out / holidays and didn’t fancy paying GoPro prices for something we won’t use that often. Also wanted something portable that can easily be stuck in a pocket or backpack.

The camera itself is super small but still feels well built and robust. It has a tripod screw directly on the body, so you don’t have to add extra brackets if you just want to put it on a mini tripod, something I appreciate as constantly swapping around brackets can be a pain. It comes with an underwater housing (not tested yet) and an excellent range of accessories that also seem well built. Far better than some of the cheap brackets I’ve seen that feel like they’d fall apart after the first use. So that’s a definitely +1 for the Akaso.

Obviously, the picture quality is the most important thing, and overall it’s great if you factor in the price you’re paying. Yes, a GoPro at more than three times the price will perform better, but not by much. In good light, images are sharp and clear, with good detail and colour. The shadows are a little crushed, and you can lose some details there, but overall it’s great. Image stabilisation is effective, although I’ve noticed that it seems to lose a little exposure level when it’s enabled, so if light is low, image stabilisation may introduce more noise in darker areas of the image. It’s fine when light is good though.

Low light performance isn’t great, and you can definitely see noise in the image. However, I’m yet to see an action camera that has great low light performance, so I wouldn’t hold this against the V50 pro. It’s not the worst low light performer (by a long way), but it’s also not the best.

Audio quality is surprisingly good and much better than a lot of cheap cameras I’ve used. Obviously when it’s in the waterproof housing things are muffled, but when using the camera out and about, the audio is more than acceptable. Definitely a strong point.

Obviously, when you’re looking at something that is little more than a quarter of the price of a GoPro with equivalent specs, you have to keep your expectations in check. Having said that, the price vs quality of the V50 Pro is outstanding. It has good image quality, especially in bright light, good image stabilisation and great sound for an in-built mic. Add in all the bundled accessories, and you can’t go far wrong.

Just bought the Akaso V50 Pro to replace my Go Pro Hero 3. It’s a really good product at a great cost. It comes with lots of accessories in the box, along with 2 batteries and a charger that didn’t take to long to charge and also a remote control. What you get for the price of the product is better compared with the price and what you get with a Go Pro camera.
Setting up the camera was so simple with the touch screen, and has so many features to explore. The remote control automatically connects to the camera making it even easier!
If you not looking for the top spec camera (Go Pro Hero 9) and want an action camera at a reasonable price then I highly recommend.

I bought the camera for my cycle rides my motorcycle rides and for my holidays. I used the camera on my motorcycle in the rain with image stabilisation on and it was a blooming good quality video. I would definitely recommend it for many sporting activities. It also has many different attachments for all sorts of mounting.

Wanted an action camera for an upcoming holiday but couldn’t justify the expense of an equivalent GoPro. Glad I didn’t now. I’ve borrowed a GoPro before and although the UI isn’t great on the Akaso, everything else is so good, I can’t really tell the difference. I expect those who are more knowledgeable might disagree but, as a layman, it more than enough for me. The remote is a great extra and it comes with a bunch of mounts, two batteries, a twin charger. Just can’t fault it for the price.

I’m blown away with this tiny wonder. Not only this a great little camera, but connected to the PC it can be a webcam.

Images are sharp and bright. With the camera you get a host of accessories, from helmet mounts to waterproof enclosures. 2 batteries make it ideal for a day trip. The image stabilisation is good and the microphone is excellent.

At a third of the price of its more well know rival, you won’t be disappointed

I wanted an action camera but started looking at GoPro, once I saw GoPro prices and what you get for your money I had to look for an alternative. Every review on google and YouTube kept pointing towards Akaso as your go to action camera. So I opted for the v50 pro as this camera for filled my needs. Once unboxed I could not believe what a smart little gadget it was and the amount of accessories you get is unreal. The water proof case that the camera came in had some slight scratches on the lens part so when Akaso contacted me to see how the product was and if I had received it I mentioned these scratches and they sent not one but two new cases out to me and they arrived the next day. So I’m extremely happy with the camera and also the customer service was on point… I highly recommend Akaso and the v50 pro.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is the first review I’ve written on amazon.. After doing A LOT of research into which camera to buy for my motorcycle helmet, I chose this camera and it was 100% the right choice! I researched cameras like GoPro Hero, Sena, APEMAN, Crosstour, as well as the other Akaso models. I also watched YouTube reviews and compared their footage and the V50 Pro was the best one overall. I can confirm after using this for about a month now, that the camera quality is AWESOME, image stabilisation works very well, the loop recording also works very well with my SD card. So far it has been a very reliable camera and have captured some awesome bike footage with it. It comes with 2 batteries and a USB charger and it lasts more than long enough running on 1080p/60fps (my default setting as 4K/30fps does use more battery power). 60fps at 1080 works amazingly well and the video playback is super clear. I couldn’t ask for a better camera for this price. There really is no need to spend around 500 on a GoPro. At least the Akaso comes with a BUNCH of accessories in the box, I always use the waterproof case.

The app isn’t the most amazing, and personally I prefer to take the SD card out, stick it into an adapter and insert it into my USB card reader into my phone (10 on amazon) to view the files and download it straight into my gallery (much faster) and use it for social media etc.

If you’re anything like me and confused at which camera to buy, I can honestly say that this camera is well worth the money and will capture your fast paced moments very well! I’m really pleased I bought this one and I definitely recommend it. You will not be disappointed!

Bought This Action Camera as a upgrade to my Ape-man A70, Which I bought 2 years ago, After a lot of research I took the plunge an placed the order. I Was not disappointed when it arrived, very well packaged and great to look at.
I downloaded the User Manual for the AKASO Website which is very useful document, Setting it up is relatively easy, and all settings are touch screen which makes it easier. After a lot of trail and error I now have it at the correct settings, The only problem I encountered was with the CODEC, Which manual states H265 Is the best to use, but I found using this CODEC, There seems to be an issue with Audio Sync in both 4K & 2.7K, However 1080P Is fine, Once I switched to H264, There are no problems at all. Took this to the Golf Course yesterday, and the footage is Amazing in 2.7K And The Time-lapse function is really cool. I have recommended the Camera to a Friend of mine, and he is ordering soon. All In All a great Camera, and I’m really happy with it.

Picture is great when holding camera still or moving side to side while on a tripod / while you’re standing still / sitting. When walking along image stabilisation isn’t great. Overall really good and comes with some good accessories. Easy to use and understand. One of my black twisty parts which connect the camera to one of the mounts did crack on first use however (as seen in photo), there are a couple in the pack so hopefully won’t happen again.

    Nice GOPRO Dupe

I tend to destroy action cameras, so price is a big factor for me. I can’t afford to buy the latest Go-Pro twice a year. The Akaso has adequate picture quality for amateur use combined with a great range of features at a price that won’t break the bank. I travel with a couple of Akasos and usually come home with both intact.

This is an excellent action camera for its price range. It’s the first I’ve owned so I’m not able to compare to a Gopro. The picture quality is good as is the sound, without the waterproof case on. Image stabilisation works well, wind noise reduction is ok but not perfect. I’ve found some of the touch screen functionality a bit fiddly and unresponsive sometimes but not overly so. Remote is ok but not much call to use it yet.
I would like to have seen some kind of zoom function, night mode could be much better and I’d really like a microphone to be available in the UK be able to enhance my videos.

Great value camera. The picture quality is really good. Image stabilization was ok as I was using it skiing some rigorous testing slopes! Didn’t really use the remote control as found it difficult to know when camera was actually switched in or not! Would be handy if there was something like a green or blue led to let you know if was on and red if off!

Had to upgrade my old action camera and wAs very keen to put the Akaso V50 Pro action camera to use as on reviews it ticked all the boxes. First thing was to charge up the batteries Gaining access to the battery was easy and required very little effort to remove. Once charge and inserted into the camera you are set to go online instruction manual was easy to open and easy to navigate.
I wanted a camera that would be multi functional not just about extreme sports but to record memories and family events the V50 Pro fits the bill perfectly with features normally only found on more expensive cameras.
Having the remote control is a great tool just one click to video or take a picture, no need to reach for the camera just tap your wrist.
iSmart Pro + App is easy to download and use and will require very little learning to use proficiently.
The camera comes with the normal accessories for cycle handle bars, helmet and others.
In Summary you don’t have to be an action sports fanatic to use and enjoy the Akaso V50 Pro Action Camera, it is equally at home capturing action shots or a walk with the family very good value for money will have a lot of fun with this camera.

I think that the akaso v50 is amazing in the fact that it can connect to your phone and it has so many attachments. You can attach it to almost anything so bike helmets and handlebars. It’s good as well because you can take it under water with the help of the water proof case. It comes with a watch-like thing and what that does is you can take photos wirelessly.

First of all, I ordered this camera from Amazon as a gift but I was sent the wrong item but as usual Amazon were fantastic in dealing with the issue. Fortunately my wife managed to get the gift in time from elsewhere and I have to say for the price, you wont find a better camera. My friend has the latest GoPro and unless you actually zoom in and really get pernickety, you won’t be able to tell the difference in quality of image or video. Infact, he couldn’t! The image stabilisation is incredible and there are so many great features on this camera, it’s unbelievable. The biggest compliment I can pay is that my friend is trying to return his GoPro so he can get this instead lol! Finally, Akaso customer service is absolutely fantastic. I am in no way connected with the company and I very rarely leave reviews unless something has impressed me that much.

Just bought the AKASO V50 Pro as my first action cam. Love it! Excellent little package, takes beautiful movies, the wide angle is insanely wide, and the stabilisation is superb. Comes with a whole host of very sturdy mounts. The wrist RF control is a little clunky, the buttons have to be pushed extremely hard to activate, but I consider the remote an added bonus so not too fussed. Overall an excellent package at a fraction of the cost of a GoPro. Highly recomended.

So far so good. The unit I’ve received is exactly as described, and a complete ‘up to spec’ dead ringer for the GoPro. The menus are pretty simple to navigate, and with the pdf instructions from the website, use of all settings are fully explained. I’ve not tried underwater with the case yet, but experimenting across the angle, photo quality settings and image stabilisation; it’s all good. There’s also plenty of youtube tutorials to follow, so I’m completely ready to go and very pleased with my purchase.

Bought this camera for my husband for upcoming holidays where we tend to do plenty of activities. We have waterproof camera phones but this camera coupled with the plethora of included brackets and attachments allows us to start filming and not worry about dropping or breaking it.
I bought it when it was on a good deal but still a good deal at the current price.
When compared to previous cameras, the picture quality is great especially at less than a third of the price of other similar specc’ed cameras. The image stabilisation works reasonably well for what we have tried so far. Will update the review once we have tried it out properly on holiday.

Many reviewers are negatively comparing this little gem to a go-pro costing 3x x the price, this is an unfair practice . This camera produces very good video ,particularly at 1080p which I guess is what many buyers will use.Image stabilisation is ggood but not up with the high price options. the on board mic is good , but I would recomend the optional external mic for best sound if thats important to you.
I use this for filming my exploits on my Triumph Street Triple and then reliving the experience back at home on the sofa. It’s handy for checking my road positioning skills etc.
Give one a try , you have nothing to loose, returns are easy on Amazon.

This is my first foray into action cameras. I’ve plumped for the Akaso V50 Pro and for the price it is amazing with high quality videos including stabilisation and pictures. Very easy to use and link up to your mobile or tablet. Note that you’ll need a iPhone 7 or higher to get decent WiFi performance but this is the phone not the action camera. Tons of features. Accessories are good value and there’s a few you’ll need if you’re vlogging or taking action pics. Mic recording is decent and this model takes an external mic too. Really good quality build and the online manual is clear and well written. Great way to get started.

The camera does what it says on the box. It was actually very well presented in retail packaging and would make a good gift. The picture quality is as advertised, although it is clear from some of the shimmer in recordings that the camera recording the clips is not a broadcast-quality unit (all 4k images are not equal). This is not so much of an issue for action cam recordings as no consumer wants or needs to carry around a 6 stone camera and 25k lens.

My only comment is that the shutter and option buttons on the top of the camera appear to be the wrong way round. E.g. the button on the outward edge of the camera is the option button – contrary to decades of camera body logic. A firmware upgrade could, I am sure, reverse the buttons but I have no yet seen any such update.

A good camera with lots of accessories included. I would buy again.

What an amazing surprise this camera is, small, compact, well built and superb picture and video quality. Opening the box is an absolute joy for anyone buying this action camera because it comes with loads of accessories and attachments. You get 2 batteries and spare water proof cover.
The camera is very user friendly and menu easy to work out if you’re one who has no time to read a manual.
Build quality is very high and the water proofing case easy to use.
App and syncing is straight forward and worked first time.
    Amazing value for cost.
Very happy with this product and can’t wait for my next holiday.

It is waterproof and can be taken deep underwater. The app that you can download FOR FREE that links with the camera is magnificent! You can view videos and pictures you have taken on the app but even better… you can live watch what the camera is viewing!! Absolutely fantastic product. Not a single negative review. If you are reading this and you want to buy a camera to take with you for holidays to capture your adventures then what are you waiting for?? THIS IS THE BEST PRODUCT OUT THERE.

I bought this to record some time lapse video in my workshop, previously I had borrowed a friends GoPro which gave very good results but couldn’t justify the cost myself for something that may or may not get used a lot; the Akaso has performed a lot better than I thought it would, very good picture quality and packed with features and although a lot cheaper than a Go Pro its certainly up there with performance. I would recommend it.

Akaso V50 Pro is a good quality entry-level action camera. I bought this camera for my son for his birthday (11th).
Originally I bought a different camera (different brand) that did not work (I could not link it to my son’s phone) so I had to return it.
Then I ordered Akaso V50 which just worked very well. The set up was quite easy, like next-next-finish.
My son is super happy with his camera.

I use a pair of them on a small portable 3D filming rig. Probably not as good as the latest Go Pro but a fraction of the price and the latter seemed to be getting mixed reviews when I purchased so I went for AKASO.
All I can say is that when viewed on a 65 inch OLED 4k 3D TV at about 3m, visitors are very impressed with the results straight off the cameras. Could probably improve further on a decent photo or video editing programme and get some decent prints off the stills. Pity the remote can’t be configured to trigger both cameras at the same time. Remember that the touch screen needs a single short press rather than a long press.

Fantastic piece of kit. I was looking for a few months for an alternative to a go pro and after serious consideration, I went for the V50 Pro. I use it for bike rides, long car journeys and eventually climbing mountains. I can’t wait to take this great camera abroad with me. It is easy to use, quality and comes with some handy attachments. I would highly recommend this camera to those who wants quality without the big brand prices. It looks nice, feels good and works a treat.

My second action cam, and this is definitely a step up from my cheap one. The build quality is good ,the camera has a nice rubberised feel. Touch screen makes navigating the many choices on the menu easy although a bit sluggish sometimes but the buttons are just as easy to use. Really impressed with the app, downloaded easily and is great to work, especially for use as remote control. Video picture quality is v good, still pictures are ok. Definitely a good camera for this price.

A fantastic little camera at a fraction of the price of the so called bigger brands. Loads of settings and wasn’t dissapointed with the outcome. Great stabilisation. Just what I was looking for. Looks great on a big screen also with HDMI out.
Have had some great fun with it. Timelapses are a treat, again great quality.
Looked at a lot of reviews online of the AKASO V50, and pleased to say I have made the right choice.
Accepts my 128GB memory card no problem also.
Don’t know how I lived without one of these before.

I use this camera to video trips out on my boat, it sits securely mounted on the stern rail and doesn’t move at all even in quite large seas. The wide-angle gives a fantastic view. I’ve had a few problems with the remote control but that’s down to me, takes me a while to get used to electronic devices. The videos are super clear and very stable. The waterproof case works well. I’m absolutely delighted and am looking forward to experimenting with this. In the winter months, when the boat is ashore, I’m going to use it in my car as a dashcam. Great quality, great value and the range of mounts is superb.

Gave it a week before reviewing…
As I’ve never had an “action camera” before, I was looking at a GoPro, but was heavily put off by their extortionate prices.
After some research on YouTube, this was the most favoured of the non-GoPros.
It is an execellent piece of equipment. Quality is superb! At first I was a little sketchy on the quality, but discovered I was not using a u3 micro SD card. This makes all the difference in quality.
App works fine with iPhone 7.

    ——
Camera would be great if I didn’t have to return the first one i bought because of the stabilisation issues.
    Second one worked ok.
Flimsy case – broke the clip under light/moderate usage after 6 months. when reported they made me buy a new one for 20 – which is quite steep for a flimsy piece of plastic.

Offered a replacement - Software issues and flimsy case

Early use but overall seems great for the money. Did a lot of research to find an alternative to the expensive GoPro and found this. I was tempted by the Elite edition but upon further research, the higher frame rate of 60fps seemed redundant on most features and apparently, the audio feature was actually better on the pro.
There is a difference between a GoPro and this but for the difference in money, it is negligible and in my opinion the best alternative. Loads of accessories which is great but you do need to purchase the micro SD card separately, we’ve gone with the 64GB SanDisk Extreme micro SD card.

I was in the market for a new action camera, and in the past I’ve always one of the very large brands (I probably don’t need to say which brand).

A friend recommended this brand to me, and for around a third of the price, I could get this camera with accessories.

Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting much, but I’ve been blown away by this little camera. I’ve only used it for surfing so far, but it seems fantastic – especially when you take the price into account.

Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a decent action camera at a sensible price.

I bought this as an experiment when it was on sale for <100. I own a hero 7 and use it almost every day, so I wanted to try this after seeing some good reviews.
Firstly? The good points. The image stabilisation, image quality and sound quality are comparable with the Hero 7. It supports a lot of the same features and even filters out AC light noise (which the GoPro doesn't do as well). In 50Hz indoor lighting, the AKASO does this filtering brilliantly. Better than the GoPro I'd say. It's easier than the GoPro as well. A simple switch, as opposed to changing the video format on GoPro.
For the money, you'd have to be stupid not to consider this camera. The picture quality is comparable. It has many of the same features and the image stabilisation is about as good!
    Now for the bad:
The touch screen on the back is infuriatingly hard to use. It's not intuitive and there's a talent to being able to scroll without selecting and changing a setting. I've had days were I've given up after spending 5 minutes trying to change a setting.
AKASO have an app that allows you to remote control the camera. This app does literally one job well. It can start a recording. Every other feature it provides is absolutely shocking. If they improved the app to allow you to change all the setting and download videos reliably, I'd give this camera 5 stars.
Despite the remote control short falls and the touch screen that might drive you insane, I would recommend this camera. It's cost effective, produces good quality footage and is a fair substitute for a GoPro hero 7.

I haven’t used it a great deal to date , however, I’m quite impressed so far. I mounted in on the handlebars of my dirt bike and the image stabilisation did a fantastic job, right up to the moment when I went over the handlebars into the bushes! My only criticism is that mounting adaptors are a bit flimsy and fiddly. That said, you get plenty of them and if you leave a review, as I am now, they’ll send you even more! All in all, a good alternative to buying the hugely expensive go-pro stuff.

After having been stung by the fake revues for the Apeman A79 (as they offer a free gift for 5star reviews) returned it as NO VIEW ANGLE ADJUST which it says it has Purchased this AKASO native4k v50pro. The description on Amazon for the AKASO v50 pro is 100% correct unlike the Apeman. AKASO has REAL 4K native very good image stability, the included charger is a very nice feature, most others offer it as a second purchase ( or in the case of Apeman as a free gift if you give them 5 stars review ) the rf wrist watch works very well but is not water proof as none of the remotes are with any action camera. Navigating the touch screen is very easy if rather small compared to a large phone screen, the app iSmart pro+ works very well on my iPhone 7 Plus but the FOV angle can’t be adjusted from the app. The only annoying I have found so far is you can’t exit the setup screen if the camera is in the case, you have to turn it off and back on not a big deal just rather annoying that you can’t press the mode button to close the setup screen down as you need to touch the touch screen to do that. I will update this review in about a month after going on a cruise to see how good it really works. But so far would recommended for the price and features

The photos and videos are way above my expectation and It also came with a bundle of accessories, but for me the most important were the water proof case, the extra battery, the dual charger and the remote watch. Haven’t tried it underwater yet, but I think this camera is well worth the money.

I’m not an expert on action cameras in fact this is my first one but first impressions I am very impressed.
With a go pro being out of our budget range we were looking for a decent action cam for or up coming holiday. I did lots of research reading reviews and this one seemed to tick all the boxes for what we wanted.
On testing it out it seems to be a great bit of kit. Video quality is great for our needs as is the photo quality. Plenty of features and modes. Very small so won’t take up much room. Great little camera.

This little camera is great value for money! I’ve had it for 5 days now and played around with different recording modes and functions. If you, like me, just need a camera for the annual holiday where you ski or dive, you don’t need anything else than this. Also it’s great that it comes with a lot of mounts and extra batteries.

My only found downsides so far is that the remote buttons feel a bit cheap and bulky, and that I wasn’t aware of the required speed of the Micro SD card when I ordered it (check the manual before ordering!).

All in all I can’t find a single reason to invest in more expensive cameras than this. At least not with my needs.

Camera is fine and produces decent results. However the app (iSmart Pro+) that’s supposed to let you control it remotely, play back videos etc is practically unusable. Hit and miss WiFi connection not able to fast forward or rewind video footage etc. Don’t buy if you want to control the camera with your phone as you will be very disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was googling for a long time, watched a lot of YouTube videos, which budget camera to choose. In this segment, there are a lot of different ones ( and a lot of re-branded ones).

The reason I have chosen this, because it has EIS on 4k 30FPS. The rest did not.

I was very pleased that the camera came with the newest firmware (v6) and I am pretty sure this is a different waterproof case design as well than the early models.

Picture quality is as expected from the reviews and samples I have seen. I will go on holiday in 3 days so I will be able to test it. Specially the waterproof case. I am hoping it won’t let me down.

It is very nice to have a remote for free included, although I don’t see a lot of use for it as it’s net even splash-proof.
I have purchased a 128 GB Samsung U3 card as well, works fine. You can have 9 hours with S.wide, s.fine, 4K 30 FPS settings.

Should be enough for a week holiday without transferring. (Not planning to record literally everything)

    I can recommend the product.
If there will be issues with it, I will come back and edit my review.

Really happy with this action camera for the price. Compared video quality to friends who use a GoPro and would be hard to find enough differences to justify the hike in price to buy GoPro. Waterproof housing works well. Used it without housing in rainforest and on river trip with no ill effect. Accessories that come with the camera are a bit random so would invest in a few more usable pieces such as stick and chest strap.
Occasional problems with WIFI connection dropping mid download from camera to phone.

AKASO V50 Pro is a sport camera with comparable quality than other more expensive products in the market. It includes two rechargeable batteries and a lot of accessories. Among them, an easy-to-use housing that protects the camera efficiently from impacts and works very well under water. However it has the standard light problems that the dive mode does not resolve. Due to the selective light absorption of water, you will have greenish tint in underwater photos. It also includes a RF watch control remote, although the connectivity and the watch bottoms are not very reliable.

I haven’t had the camera long so cant offer a detailed review but I have used it to film inside my fish tank and the quality was brilliant! One point worth noting is that it downloads the movie files in .mov format which is not ideal on android devices but not issue when transferred to PC. I’m seriously impressed with this camera so far. Will update as I use it more.
    ****UPDATE****
Used this on my recent summer holiday in both the hotel splash park and snorkeling at local beach and it’s fantastic! Really nothing I can fault it on, did a great job above and below water 🙂

I have been using the phone camera to capture videos for sometime and been very happy with it. However I want something that will give me a greater recording angle and may be get to use it while doing some outdoor sports.
Don’t really want to spent lots of money such as the G.P, when I might not be using it all the time.
Having looked around and comparing online reviews, decided to give this a try after many have suggested this is a very good model.
Have used it a few times so far, and have not disappointed. The 3 adjustable angle setting is good. Very surprised how wide angle this give you. The colour and image both indoor (include in sports hall) and outdoor are very clear. The white balance seems to be work well.
Audio is good, the mic picked up clear sound.
Yet to try out high speed recording and underwater.
As described, it came with a number of accessory, mounting, remote control, 2 battery and charger.
So far, the only thing could have been abit better is on the touch screen. I think the alignment slightly out. Otherwise it is a very good device. Ultra good value for money, worth getting for sure.

After using GoPro action cams for quite a few years I decided after watching YouTube videos I ordered this Akaso V5 Pro Camera.
Wow! Was I pleased, extremely well made, beautiful, clear, sharp video and photos.
I always shoot in 16×9 widescreen format and was pleased that by setting the photo setting to 10mp I could also shoot in widescreen. I find that the choice of 4 different viewing formats is great as by using the medium selection I can avoid the edge distortion.
The electronic image stabilisation is on par with the best and the sound is good, I could go on forever and that’s not to mention the tripod mount, great, the huge amount of accessories included. And above all the price at 119, a third of comparable Cameras’s.
    Highly recommended.

I’ve had an Akaso EK5000 for a few years and taken some great videos mountain biking and surfing but had my eyes on the V50 as an upgrade.

Got an email “flash sale” and picked it up for 89. Absolute bargain and a class apart from the EK5000.

The 5000 is really just like every other camera thats not a gopro. The V50 is totally different.

Case has a premium rubberised feel to it, protective housing feels like next level up plastic and boot up/menu navigation is way quicker. So much so you can almost turn on and start recording without losing footage. Its that wuick compared to the older models. so on a big day out you probably only need the 2 batteries. You could certainly do this biking….dont need to keep it on waiting for you to press record.

There’s also a few nice additions like instant record and useage setting which make set up easier.

Is it gopro, no idea. I think its a disgrace to charge 350 for a camera when this is superb for the weekend warrior. Is is true 4K? Who gives a flubberduck. These days thats like the old CD /MP3 / Vinyl arguments. Is the footage great…..yes it is. Can I show it on. 50″ TV…yes I can and it looks fine. Thats all i need.

As for fake reviews? Theres loads of cameras with obvious fake reviews. Fakespot doesnt think this camera falls into that category and for me the high rating is more than justified.

Why not 5*. My only niggle is that with 2 buttons not 4, a shape thats different to the generic cameras and EK5000 it means I cant reuse my 5000’s cases (always take a spare for gnarly conditions) and the batteries are smaller so I cant reuse them on a long day out. Minor issue. Also the remote battery was dead on arrival. Thought the remote was duff but popped a new on in and all’s good.

All up its one cracking little camera and GoPro need to seriously up their game if they think non-professionals need to spend that much.

Oh….and Akaso DO respond to help and questions. Nice to buy from a relatively unknown brand and get support.

    Top marks.
