Great sound
Has to plug in options in
Good ground vibration preventer
Can be adapted on a tripod for vertical display
Does not come with cable to connect to drum set
But all around very satisfying purchase
The sound quality and power of this amp is awesome. The bass, midrange and treble all hits heavy and clear. I use it for my Yamaha DTXPLORER (Older model).
Okay, let’s be upfront this company is a bit annoying and you literally only get the monitors… After going out and getting the cables I needed, if I had known that when I purchased them I would of also just bought them. These are like holy crap good… worth the money i spent totally buying another this time with the cables i need
Awesome little amp. Very loud. Need to tweak your kick drum volume on your drum module or software to get the best mix coming out from this amp.
I have a Roland VAD drum kit with the TD-17 and I originally bought a Roland PM100 personal monitor. I was very disappointed with the Roland monitor and read reviews mentioning the Alesis Strike Amp for about the same price. I got the Strike Amp and it is so much louder and clear sounding over the Roland. I can only turn it up about 1/2 way on the amp and sound module before the stuff on my walls start to rattle. In fact I have to go through my house and re-level all of the picture frames on my wall after playing drums because it’s so loud.
I recommend this amp!!! The only concern I have is other reviews that talk about failures but time will tell. My initial first week impression is to buy this!! I want a second one to run in stereo but I may need to have the fillings in my teeth replaced after that! It’s such a loud amp!! boom boom! Oh the bass is also is the best part.
An absolute better of an amp. Needed a drum amp that would be great for practice with my electronic kit but would cut the mustard as a gig amp too. Haven’t gigged yet but it sounds amazing. Loud enough on 4 but with crystal clear quality so will definitely been good enough for a gig. Looks stunning and solid too.
Only reason I’ve not given 5 stars is the fact any vocal audio played through the Aux of my kit is drowned out by the bass volume. Kit audio sounds amazing but no good playing along with songs on Spotify etc. Even tried plugging directly into the second input but same issue.
I was using a fender bass amp, I got this and holy crap it hammers.
This is as good as the reviews reported, at a very affordable prices.
I like the look of the amp and how you could stand it vertically or horizontally in the room. Cosmetics were appealing. Sound was better then expected but could still use improvement. I would recommend the product for the price
I own the amp 12 and the amp 8. I love the sound quality of these units. The amp packs a nice punch
It is exactly what my boyfriend needed to enjoy his drums at home. The sound quality and ability to connect it to his phone is great! I don’t know what max volume sounds like but 1/2 way rattles the cabinets.
This was only for in home use so I will not use all of the functions or need a lot of volume. Adequate for what I needed.
Looks great, sounds great! I’ve been putting off buying one for a while now but should have just purchased in the first place, when I bought mynelectriconic drumkit. Top Quality product.
I was looking to up my drum amplification from my current Roland – after much rummaging, I decided that the Alesis Strike was the one…
Crikey – it’s a bit of a revelation – masses of low-end oomph + crystal clear highs + tons of power = just what I was looking for.
Brilliant. Super thrilled.
Will be purchasing a second to create a stereo PA…
I’ve got an Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit, which I’ve been using with a guitar amp. Finally found some spare cash and bought myself an Alesis Strike Amp 12 as an early christmas present for myself. It arrived today, was well packaged, and I was very impressed with it’s looks out of the box. I quickly moved the guitar amp out of the way and plugged it in using a TRS cable. I set the volume to 7 and turned up the drum module. Wow, it was like the scene out of Back to the future when Marty plugged his guitar into Docs amp. The sound level and quality is fantastic, I love it. If you’re thinking of buying one, don’t wait, get it bought. For those not sure about cables, I’ve tried both mono and stereo TRS cables and they both work.
It was advertised as blow your socks off how loud this is drum speaker I connected it to my Alesis Strike Pro SE and definitely underpowered – I found a good use for it as a monitor for my Trio ++ when I’m composing so not a wasted investment but left a lot to be desired – needless to say drum kit is ran thru PA instead
I love this amp. Possibly my favorite amp purchase for all my instruments. Before I was running my Yamaha kit through the PA or a keyboard amp, but this Alesia Strike 12 changed the game for me.
All the drums find their perfect range and sound. From deep driving bass to the precision of the cymbals.
For practice: this amp sounds good at low volumes. We use it with my band in my basement.
For live performance: I’ve gigged with this in at multiple venues and the sound carries. Obviously for a huge venue you’ll have to mic it up or figure something else out for your drums.
5 stars all the way.
Purchased 2 for use with Yamaha DTX treme2. Great sound. Easy-to-use
Just got this in today to pair with my alesis e-drums kit. Love it. Sounds great. Nice clean crisp sounds. And it is friggin LOUD. almost bought two of them to get stereo sound, which I definitely would if I was playing or gig with it. But I’m just using it to play around with in the house when not using the headphones. Bought the speaker and the new bee instrument cord. If you’re looking for a speaker for your home studio, buy this one.
Also, it has two inputs. So the wife can plug her guitar in and we can both play. Didn’t know this until I got it. Extra bonus!
I use this amp to power an Alesis Mesh drum kit. The sound is crisp and the bass is booming. I also use it with my acoustic/electric guitar and it really brings the guitar to life! My only complaint is the location of the power button and controls. They’re hard to reach on the back and you have to tilt the amp forward every time you want to power it up or adjust a setting. Probably not an issue when mounted on a PA stand but for me, I have it tilted back under my drum kit which makes them unreachable.
Overall though, great sound so I’d still highly recommend.
Great amp, very good sound and easy to use.
Only downside I can think of is that it doesn’t come with lead, but I already had one from my previous amp so, no complaints from me.
Still waiting for the neighbours to complain lol Great fun!
I have 2 of these for my Alesis pro kit and damn do they hit hard.
Not a single bit of distortion when you crank them.
Very loud and great build quality.
Great sound, clear and sharp, and the bass is unbelievable
So I debated getting this for my Roland kit. I thought I should have a Roland amp for a Roland kit. Boy was I wrong! This amp is amazing. Honestly I play it at level 3 out of 10. My wife came down stairs and said, ok, 1st of all, you sound great. Lol. But you’re going to go deaf. Lol. Point to this is it can handle the lows of the bass. Looking forward to playing it with a band. Great value so far…
Kein aufflliges Rauschen.
The Size is simply exceptional ! The sound is Outstanding for my Roland TD9… MAN I’M HAPPY….Fits in any trunk of any compact car… Alesis gets a 100 % with that one.
Thunderous little speaker. On certain drum settings the floor Tom sounds like a sonic boom and I LOVE that! It’s like you hit it once and hear it travel. I am so impressed with this.
After all research and test of strike amp 12 I don’t know why I picked strike amp 8 . Its still good if you have tiny room or apartment just you need to hear . But if you try to play with strong guitar amp its just doesn’t have the power to give you the best quality .
My band has been distanced practicing of late, so I’m using the ole V drums in lieu of my Sonor babies (just trying not to piss the neighbors off too much!) I was running the V drums through the PA, but I bought one of these babies–and my volume hog bassist (and my guitarist) is jealous of the sound. And I must admit, my volume has been creeping up until I’m not sure my acoustic kit would be louder? But it sounds monstrous. Bass frequencies are the most compelling, but it does a nice job of handling the high end ( cymbals). Easily portable, powerful, great sound. Well worth the money.
got this to upgrade from my KAT-1 amp, one of the lower-end amps for e-drums, and i regret not shelling out the extra $ from the get-go for this amp. at all volumes, it just sounds CRISP. it also gets insanely loud and keeps the character of the sounds, really impressive. i have it mounted on an amazonbasics PA stand pole for $15 and it’s working wonderfully for my roland drums in my apartment.
I bought this speaker to allow me to play the electronic drum set over Zoom (as part of my drum lessons). I’m a beginner.
I tried other speakers, including a very expensive Bose speaker from a fellow engineer that used to work there. The key problem … the Bose (and other cheaper speakers) could not begin to replicate the bass drum and other low frequency sounds.
But this Alesis … whoo Boy … can it crank the BASS! And I found the sound excellent.
Unfortunately, I live in an apartment with neighbors, so I can’t up the volume as much as I would like.
BUT IT IS FUN!
The amp sounds pretty good with the Alesis drum kit. I used it to jam with my buddies 2 weeks ago (I only had the amp a few weeks and only used it 1 other time). I used both left and right output on the Alesis Nitro drum kit and had the volume between 5 and 6 on both channels. It sounded great but after about 30 minutes it went silent. After a minute it came back on but the high end was gone. I tried again after 5 minutes, after 30 minutes and the next day. The high end tweeter had failed. I contacted Amazon and Alesis. Alesis hasn’t gotten back to me but Amazon was great and replaced it. Fingers crossed on the next one.
I love the product, pretty unhappy that it didn’t come with cables to connect it to my Alesis Nitro…
It only comes with the power cord.
I was just thinking for almost 400 dollars it would come with what I need to really yeah knows… use it.
This thing gets LOUD! I have yet to turn it all the way up. It has a great dynamic range, the lows are deep and booming and the highs are clear and bright. It works great for backing tracks and playing along with music. Having two inputs, each with their own volume control is excellent. I use this with my Alesis Nitro Mesh kit and i couldn’t be happier. I can keep up with my bass player who has a huge full size stack. I’m considering purchasing another to daisy chain to get that stereo effect. It does everything it says it does and more. if you have a digital drum kit this is the amp you want!
It is a high quality and versatile amp. The sound is amazing and very powerful. The amp was bigger and heavier than I expected, but unless you have to carry it out on a daily basis, then I don’t see it being a problem. On the exterior it looks very modern and made of high quality materials. I usually use at level 3 volume as that is plenty for practicing purposes. I cannot wait to be able to use it outdoors and crank it up.
Using this with a Roland td11kvs for smaller venue gigs. Absolutely loads of power. The low end is crazy big. Love it so far but only used twice so far. Hopefully it will continue to live up to expectations.
Nothing not to love. Has the volume, sound quality and is built like a tank. Use for my Roland td-17 kit and does exactly what I need. Wonderful product.
Such a great speaker! I play my Alesis Strike Pro SE through it, and it sounds fantastic! Great lows and highs, super loud. I just bought the one for now, but I should have bought two of them, which I plan to buy another one real soon!
For personal monitoring or small gigs this thing cranks. I run my drums thru it and the second input is nice for rest of band monitoring.
Was a bit hesitant to purchase with the Alesis name. However I am glad I bit the bullet and purchased this amp/speaker. Very responsive when playing at low volumes as well as more than enough power to really shake the wall without distortion when turned up a bit. I use this for my electric drum kit from Roland and it compliments it very well. Since it has two inputs I have played a bit with the drums one one channel and had a bass going in the second. Neither overpowers the other. This is the best amp combo I have had at this price range. Would definitely recommend.
Bought two of these. In stereo is definitely the way to go. They are loud and clean. LOTS of headroom. Makes my Alesia electronic kit sound very close to natural acoustic. Bass player stands on the right and we run his signal in to the second input of the right Alesis speaker and mix the volume to the drummers liking. Ran the vocals and acoustic guitar mix into the left alesis speaker and did the same. Sounds fantastic! Light weight. Easy easy easy to set up. Highly recommend.
Love this drum amp. It kicks butt. It’s very loud if you want it to be. Sounds great. Highs are high and the lows are low. No sound distortion or speaker crackles. It sounds killer with just one. Cant imagine the sound of two of them !
I’m using it with the alesis strike pro drum set.
Product works as promised. No concerns, no issues. Great sound.
This thing is a beast! I use it for my Alexis electronic DM7X kit and it is absolutely perfect. 10/10 would recommend.
I use it with my Alesis E-Drums. I’ve read some reviews that questioned with doubts that it produces 2000 Watts. Without using sophisticated measuring equipment I doubt they really know. All I can say is IT IS LOUD and does a fantastic job.
