I have two of these beauties and they do what they say 100% I managed to install these within 40 mins and I am no expert.
Solar panel stopped charging how the hell do you get in touch with them to get a replacement solar panel
Had a few very minor set up issues, which were very quickly resolved by the excellent customer support. Camera and solar panel work flawlessly. Fully recommend.
Easy to install, good customer service if you have any problems on installation, and will follow up to ensure that the camera is working as it should. Good night vision, detection, also strobe lighting to light up area in the dark to deter any unwanted visitors, plus siren if required.
This photo was taken just after 5am in the morning of my back garden it was still dark outside but the image is so clear.Good quality well made and so easy to install even a a couple of templates that stick on the wall or wood made it so easy. The app is nice and clear to follow and when you get it correct it will say successful. I would recommend this product and will be purchasing more for the side and front of my house. If I could give it 10 stars I would.
Great spec all works great even signed up to 24 hour cloud record 7 day cycle for 4.29 per month.
Peace of mind while recently been away on holiday for 2 weeks
It’s slow in charging back up with solar ?
Wish it was quicker
Twice now had to take it down to charge up ? And text there support and you get nothing back from them ti help ?. Shouldn’t bye
This appears to be a sturdy good quality product.
Unfortunately I am unable to connect it up.
I am in a rural area and use a 4g dongle .the signal has proved patchy so not able to run the camera.
I believe I can use the camera remotely without wifi using an SD card but the instructions do not tell me how to set this up
Im sure it’s great if I could work it very disappointed
The camera is very good for the money. The night vision is a bit grainy but good enough. A nice feature is that you can set the camera to switch on a light and or make an audible alarm if movement is detected. Our camera stopped charging from the solar panel (think poor connection in the cable plug). Regardless of cause support was excellent and a new solar panel was despatched and they actively followed up to make sure the problem was resolved. Could not have been better.
This is a reasonably good camera very good value for the price, it works well and the picture quality is superb, i have had to turn pats of it off as it keeps bleeping all the time bit it does way more than i need so overall i wil give it full marks. But i had to get someone in to set it up for mee i am not any good with all this tech .
Initially had a problem connecting the Camera to the Internet, but was very easy to set up once it worked.
This is an excellent Camera with a lot of functions. It is so clear in Day or Night mode and can be set to very sensitive motion detection. I was also able to share it with my Family so they can also review footage. The Siren is not particularly loud, but effective.
If you want a well priced Camera with a lot of functions, this is a must buy.
A bit of a problem but all sorted thanks to Vera.
Top quality cctv no need to have a professional to come and install literally takes 10 minutes to install
Customer service isn’t great but once I got it going it was spot o
This was easy to install and set up and provides just what I needed

This outdoor wireless security camera is solar powered. It has human detection and will turn 360 degrees. Amazing video quality and excellent night video quality. It has an alarm and spotlight. Great quality and easy installation.
I’m well impressed with this Cant wait to get it on my wall
360 rotation
Solid plastic and metal
The build quality is excellent
It feels like its top of the price
Just fantastic
So simple to setup Solar charging works well even in Feb March time.
Have the panel facing SWest with a building stopping sun until midday. Charges a treat. I bought an extension lead for the Solar Panel to get it in that not ideal but best spot too. High quality images day and night. And the remote tracking lets us see across the whole width of our property, when you move the camera it’s like looking at a bot in Star Wars! Get one you won’t regret it.

Brought this camera as getting power supply to device was difficult. Pan and tilt work very well; battery life good with moderate sun.
So far seems value for money.

This is a great camera with so many great features. A day after installing I realised the motion detection wasn’t working so I contacted support and they got back to me within 24 hours and figured out that the camera was faulty so within 4 days they had sent me a new one and it works absolutely perfect! Thank you.

Very good quality camera for the price, has a manual pan and tilt function so camera can be aimed at most areas with ease. Easy to set up and cloud edge app does all of the work in doing this, no wires as camera is solar and uses WiFi. Overall very good results and recommended as a cheap option for security. Support from Anran is also good.

This camera is doing its job,After a series of car break ins I purchased it to try and deter these. It seems to work very well.Any night time detection automatically ty a spot light on and starts recording. The night time picture is very good when the spot light is activated switching from black and white to colour. So far so good. Ps very easy to set up and install and no wiring needed.

Very easy to install and set up, it also has extremely good quality picture definition both day and night.
Really impressed with this security camera and better still it runs off solar so no electricity needed!!
All this for less than 100, heck yeah it’s good value.
Easy to put up and very good with the night visio

Easy to setup, although scanning the QR code outside was a bit hit and miss and you need to complete this step to sync it with your phone app.
Easy to setup and the app is straight forward. Mine gets about 80% sunlight throughout the day and this is more than enough to keep the battery fully charged.
Night mode works really well and when moving the camera around it will switch on the mini flood lights temporarily which is nice. Installed a 32Gb SD card and have left it doing it’s thing for the last couple of months, not sure it purges old video files automatically as I haven’t taken the card out to check.
What I was suprised at was the fact you can control the camera via the phone app anywhere, you don’t need to be connected to the same WIFI, you could be on holiday checking in etc which is a really usefull feature, and the connections encrypted each time for peace of mind.
Definitely worth the money.

This is a quality solar powered camera which is easy set up. The Wi-Fi strength is excellent even through walls and the picture is very clear. Only issue I had was inserting the SD card as it didn’t fit correctly and fell into the camera. This issue has been resolved.
Loved installing this with no power cable. Worked exactly as required from the outset. Adjusted the sensitivity to detect human activity and it does just that, although at first a billowing cover on garden furniture triggered the camera but this was rectified by tweaking the sensitivity back a little. The battery remains fully charged most of the time despite poor weather. Picture quality is acceptable and I have peace of mind when away from the house. The app is intuitive and easy to use. The speaker in the camera is quite powerful for a small device and could be very useful as an intruder deterrent. I may consider buying another unit for house front at some point.

The ANRAN Wireless Solar Security Camera was really easy to set up, it uses the same CloudEdge app as some other cameras and this works pretty well to view a live picture, recordings from SD Card or the paid cloud service and alarms with a time and date to show when it responded to motion.
The only issue I’ve had with this camera is that the micro SD slot is dodgy and my SD card dropped down the back inside the machine, so I’ve lost an SD card now, sadly. The next one went in fine but only after a fiddly install.
The device comes almost ready to use, you need to insert the USB lead from the solar panel into the slot in the top of the device, turn it on and go through the app to link the camera using a QR code. It took around 5 minutes.
Installing can be done straight to the wall with the bracket and included raw plugs and screws. We chose to just lead it on the fence for now, though. The picture is really clear and can be inverted if you need to turn the camera upside down. It does also rotate but I found that it’s quite a limited range of movement still.
Night mode is surprisingly clear as you can see from the picture. I’m using this in the back garden for now for the purpose of testing before a more permanent install at the front.
Battery was surprisingly good, since it’s only just getting lighter after winter I assumed the battery would be struggling a bit by the morning but it’s stayed on over 75% each night, topping back up to 100% in the day.
Overall, a good picture, easy to set up and good app. It’s only the SD card slot that I was disappointed over.
Night time photo not so good but still pleased with i
ANRAN Wireless Outdoor Solar Security Camera: I’m impressed with this security system. We’re not the worlds most savvy when it comes to techy stuff and so always wait for some “assistance” before setting up such products. Needn’t have worried with this as it was very straightforward to set up and install once you’ve downloaded the free CloudEdge app, which basically takes you through set-up step by step.
Key thing is placement of the camera and solar panel to ensure that you receive sufficient light to charge the battery. The solar panel cord is about 3metres so it’s possible to place them apart a little if required, but basically it’s excellent that you don’t need to worry about drilling holes to access wiring.
It comes with fixings for both the camera and solar panel and once again not tricky to install, the fixing plates just need a nice flat surface to attach to and of course it needs to be within the capture distance of your WiFi signal. Ours is placed just outside of the back door, on the corner of the house, facing towards the back gate and the camera provides an excellent 180 degree view from the gate, back to the door and along the garden.
The picture quality is very good, as is the 2 way audio, the CloudEdge app supports 24/7 live observation from your camera, the addition of an SD card (it will support up to 128gb but this is not included) will allow recording from your camera for several days. The alert trigger will not pick up next doors cat but will flag human activity.
The app ensures ease of management and access can be shared with others (up to 6) if they download the app and use the same password.
It’s quite an impressive little system for the price and Provides good quality imagery and audio with the ability to scan a wide area and provides a high level of security reassurance. Great product.
I’m super impressed with this camera. It’s pretty much ready to go out of the box, just plug it all in and connect to your wifi signal and you’re off.
I was a bit skeptical that the fairly small solar panel would supply enough power to run a full HD camera with IR lights as well, but it works beautifully. Even after a few cloudy days in March it still runs. This makes this camera instensely practical because you can put it anywhere. You’re not tied into a power supply.
It does obviously need a wi-fi signal, but it needs a surprisingly weak signal to keep working. My phone barely connects to my wifi at my camera place but the camera works fine
The app supplied with these cheaper cameras is usually the weak spot but this one works very well and is slick and easy to use. You get notifications of detected movement and can then look at still images captured by the camera, each time stamped. If you have an SD card in the camera then it will store video images as well. You can view the camera at any time, and pan and tilt the view as well. There is a microphone and speaker built in as well, so you can talk to whoever is on site. My wifi signal is a bit lacking to really have this work without excessive lag, but it’s clear and loud.
The sensitivity of the camera is perfect. I’ve tried cameras before that gave so many false positives from moving branches or cats walking across the scene that they were functinoally useless. This camera has some algo in there that recognises people, and In four weeks of use I’ve had only one or two false alerts. It hasn’t failed to detect an actual human either. The sensitivity control of the camera adjusts how far away it registers an object, so with a bit of trial and error you can filter out background movements like passing traffic.
Night vision is excellent. There are two IR transmitters on the camera that really illuminate the scene at night.
It’s weather-proof and easy to install – literally just screw it to the wall. I have nothing bad to say about this camera, and for the 99 currently being asked it’s a bargain as well. Excellent device.
(If you found this review useful, I”d love it if you let me know with a click below – thanks!)
eally good product, easy to set up. The app is easy to use and picture quality is top class on HD even at night time. Hopefully, it stays like this and might even get a second one
The pictures of the camera both day time, and night time is brilliant. Bought 2 of them, had a fault with one, messaged the customer service and Vera was really helpful and replaced it on time. Will definitely buy another one and recommend.
The ANRAN Wireless Solar Camera immediately impresses when you open the packaging. The camera is a one of the larger ones I have seen, and it’s quite heavy too. This is the story for all of the parts… everything solidly made and nicely engineered. There are two main parts, the camera and the solar panel with its tripod-bush stand.
There’s a decent user manual but I do think that it’s rather brief and there are some questions that the manual doesn’t really address. Having said that, this camera is one of the easier ones I have had to set up and get working. I would just have preferred more detailed information about the various settings that you encounter in the CloudEdge app. I have a slight advantage because I am quite familiar with this type of product and they all tend to work in a similar way. For someone who is installing their first ever camera then it may present a bit more of a challenge. Therefore, here are the basic steps as I performed them:
(at various stages through the installation procedure you will hear vocal confirmations and instructions, which is pretty good.)
1) Initially I didn’t mess with the solar panel and left it unconnected until the camera was up and running (there is usually enough battery power to do this). So the first thing I did was install the “CloudEdge” app.
2) I suggest that you insert a MicroSD card into the camera (it is pushed into the slot that is under the camera body that’s covered by a weather proof silicone flap). Be careful that you align the MicroSD card carefully and ensure it’s the right way around as shown in the illustration in the manual. As you press the card in there’s a sprung ‘lock’ that you can feel engaging. I wouldn’t worry about it at this stage but the MicroSD card needs to be formatted FAT32. The card can be formatted from within the CloudEdge app when you have successfully installed the camera, which is what I would recommend doing, even if you have pre-formatted the card. Using the CloudEdge app to format the MicroSD card ensures compatibility.
2) Fire up the CloudEdge app and create an account. All you need is an email address and then create a password. The password must have 8 to 16 digits, with two numbers and upper & lower case letters. There’s no more information that has to be entered, which I was pleased to discover.
3) Before adding the camera as a device make sure you are sitting close by your router and the phone and camera are close too. I don’t know why this is necessary but it always seems to be the case with setting up WiFi security cameras. The camera requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal, not 5 GHz by the way.
4) After you have created an account fire up the app and select the + Add Device. The device you are looking for is “Battery Camera” and there should be a visible camera icon (see my photos). Tap the camera icon and then press the POWER button that is one of the two very small buttons situated by the MicroSD card slot under the silicone flap. It’s not easy to see but each of the two buttons is labelled (one is called RESET, and the other is the POWER button).
5) Press the “RESET” button for 5 seconds (you will hear a beep) and the red LED flashes. Tap NEXT.
6) You should see the name of your WiFi network on this screen. Select it and enter your WiFi network password to continue.
7) The next screen in the app will display a large QR Code. Point the camera’s lens at the QR Code (hold the camera up to 8 inches away from your phone screen). You will hear a bleep when the camera has recognised the QR Code. The process of installing teh camera can take up to 2 minutes. If it fails just start again from Step 4. It took two times for my camera to get connected.
8) Hopefully the camera is now set up and working and will have a name something like “103865899”. That’s basically it. When everything is running okay I suggest that you rename the camera to a name that means something to you, such as “FrontDoorCam1”. To do this just click on the pen icon that’s further along the line from the default name.
Operationally the camera is very good. I switched from SD picture quality (which actually wasn’t bad at all) to HD. The picture and video quality are excellent, especially in HD. I was also impressed that there was not much ‘lag’ (i.e. the delay from seen movement to the movement being shown in the app) and it was well under a second. The video results were very smooth too.
The Solar Panel has a generous fixed USB cable and the plug type is MicroUSB. In the unlikely event that the USB cable isn’t long enough you could always use a MicroUSB male to female extension cable, but for most people the supplied cable length will probably be plenty long enough.
The night vision worked well, with a good image, and it ‘kicks in’ automatically. All your video recordings and still image captures can be seen in the “ALBUM” which is accessible from the camera’s menu system. The stills and videos are dropped into ‘day date’ sections. If you have the motion sensor switched on the ‘alarm’ images are similarly stored and tapping on “Messages” will show you the captured images in a time and date order.
I really like this camera. I am mainly impressed with the sturdiness of its construction and I haven’t found any weak areas. It looks as though it will withstand the weather elements if put outside (although mine hasn’t been subjected to much as yet). I took the camera well outside of my house and the WiFi signal didn’t drop at all.
This is one of the better security cameras I have tested and is well worth the money because for me the solar powered functionality is the key thing… it makes the siting of the camera so very much easier. For under 100 this is a good buy from a manufacturer experienced in this type of equipment, and ANRAN do make a lot of CCTV equipment (which was obvious when I visited their website).
Great camera, excellent video quality and so easy to set up with the app. Exactly what I wanted.
OVERALL – This is an excellent camera for the money, with great picture quality, night vision, good motion detection, and SD card and cloud storage options. Both my cameras are solar-powered, and this makes installing the physical camera very easy. They haven’t missed an event yet, and I would buy again if I ever needed more coverage!
Photos – 1) close up of installed camera, 2) Camera in position, 3) Set up of the camera and the solar panel, 4) screenshot of the app showing both cameras.
Bought it for peace of mind as one of my neighbours keeps scaring me about local crime stats! I’ve installed it about eight feet high, looking out on the back garden and outbuildings, the first one looks over the cars at the front.
It was very easy to setup and instal the app works well the only small gripe is rain sticks to the camera lense distorting the pic, I have ordered some rain dispersing coating and am hoping this will do the trick.
Like the design of this model and quiet operation. Was simple to set up and connect the separate solar panel charger. Wifi connectivity is a bit hit & miss, and sound quality through the speakers is very tinny. Good system for the price.
I am very pleased with this purchase it’s much more reliable .compared to the other Anaran surveillance camera. I had a few technical issues but thanks to the excellent customer support and particularly Vera who sorted out everything in no time. I would certainly recommend this produc

This is the newer model than the one I bought almost a year ago. I specially like the 360deg view function. It’s a much better improvement from the previous pan only model.
In addition, the solar powered function will save a lot of drilling and electrical mess about. It’s ideal for outdoor camera application.
The picture quality is HD and it’s good enough for domestic usage.
The build quality is good and the price is competitive.
It doesn’t come with micro SD memory card which I will need to buy. But It won’t put me off buying form this retailer.

This and other similar cameras, could do with better apps and manuals.
Having said that I contacted ANRANTEC to get the help I needed.
I was lucky to get Vera – Wonder Woman! who guided me through!!
It was worth the effort as the camera is really good, with a stunning picture!

This is the third purchase of a Anran security camera and I can honestly say their products are excellent value for money. I like the easy setup using the app on a mobile phone; pairing to the wifi first, then you position the camera where you will be fixing it and completing the connection using your mobile, it’s as simple as that. The picture quality during the daytime and at night is astonishing.
I love the separate solar panel idea and the fixing bracket allows the panel to be precisely positioned towards the sun. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for a security camera where you are remote with no access to a power supply.
Update: after a month of use the battery only had 10% power left and required charging from a mains extension lead.

This has to be one of the easiest to set up and use security camera I’ve had. (Have tried quite a few) picture quality both day and night is first class. A very easy to use app. Highly recommend.
I found this Anran cctv solar camera very easy to install. Once it was attached to the wall i could use it straight away. I just had to configure it on my phone and set a password. Once that was done I could use the app to set up other options to control preset positions and adjust motion sensitivity.
The app I use is easy to configure and control the camera and having the benefit of bing able to see what is happening away from home gives peace of mind. I found the motion sensitivity a little to high so I reduced it so I wasn’t getting so many warnings sent to my phone.
The recorded images are really high quality and very clear. The night time viewing is also very clear with the IR, and if it detects movement at night it has built in flood lights which I thought was nifty.
I connected mine to power as well as the solar. But it runs fine just from the solar and the installed battery. Just try get the solar panel in a position that it gets most of the sun throughout the day.
I haven’t tried the cloud storage so I dont know what that is like but I put 128gb sd card in and that give me about 5 days of play back footage.
An IP NVR would be my next investment so I can have longer storage
Overall I’m very pleased with this camera and its options to move in all direction and the motion tracking is very good too.
What I like about this camera is that its very easy to install. Fittings are provided and there are no need to drill trough the house walls as its solar powered. The camera can even be placed elsewhere, such as in the garden, as long as it’s in reach of your home wi-fi. The wi-fi signal/connection is strong even through my houses thick walls. The device can also be powered via USB if you don’t want to depend on the solar panel, so far I’ve found the panel more than sufficient. Set up is relatively straight forward and the app is very easy to use. It is a different app to my home CCTV system but I kind of like having the two independent of each other. The picture quality is excellent both at night and in the day and the two way communication works perfectly. It has settings for alarms and motion alerts and can be moved in direction via the app. Its a great security feature and installing a 128gb card enables me to record over a weeks worth of footage. I’m really happy with it.
I like the quality of the picture and how the camera stores motion detection videos. To replay captured videos you can choose any day with videos then watch all of them, for that day, played in a row.
I installed the camera, 400 meters away from an outside WiFi repeater, two weeks ago. It was pretty simple to set up. I have charged the battery once since installing it. I put the camera close to a beach on our farm so I could watch the big waves coming ashore in rough weather. I watched it a lot the first few days when it was very windy and the waves were huge. Because it was being used a lot when there was virtually no sun the battery went down. Since I charged it it has kept the charge level nearly full with it’s own solar panel. I think this is a great little camera for what it cost and for occasional viewing in low light situations, like here in the winter, I am sure it will self charge to monitor and record videos. In decent light I would think it will always have sufficient charge. The camera picks up the wifi better than my mobile phone at the same spot.

Brilliant camera. Easy to set up ( with a little help) Very impressed by the night vision, can now keep a eye out for the wildlife in my garden. Clarity both day and night is excellent. Will be buying one for the back garden.

Excellent camera. The simplicity from setting up this camera and the quality of the images both day and night makes this camera an excellent product. Highly recommend. Love the way you can pan all different angles. Adjustable detection means no false alarms from my dogs, and send notifications straight to my phone. Highly recommend.

Having used other ANRAN CCTV cameras with great success, I had a need to find one that was solar powered for a location without power and found this model. The setup uses a newer and different application to my other cameras, but the setup of the camera and connecting to my wifi was very straightforward. Despite being a smaller size to other PTZ cameras I have used the image quality and especially with night vison is really good, and would highly recommend, the compact size can only be a bonus. I have had this a few weeks now and the battery level % has hardly changed, so despite the limited sun at this time of year, the battery / solar charging seems very good so far.

One of the first reviews of this camera on Amazon so it is lengthy – hope its helpful
Arrived in the customary white and blue box, well packaged, solar panel on top with the instruction leaflet placed upon it in the recess — a nice touch. Underneath is the camera, the bundle of power cord for the solar panel and a USB cable (USB2 to USB Micro, note NOT USB C) a screw template plus 2 screw packs for the camera and solar panel with a spare screw. Not sure what the packaging material is, it is quite glossy to the touch so presumably some form of expanded plastic.
Made of the usual ANRAN style hard white plastic and the camera feels solid and of good quality with all the access ports well sealed or hidden beneath. Note that the camera does not come with a MicroSD card (8-128GB Class 10) but that is only needed for local storage and the camera will apparently work without it if attached to a Wi-Fi router.
I located the charging point in the base and connected it via the USB cable to a standard phone charger. Took about two hours. A small red LED illuminates next to the power socket when power is applied and turns blue when charged (not mentioned in the manual).
This is my first experience with a battery-powered CCTV device, and I was impressed with the flexibility it offers in terms of mounting – essentially anywhere it can receive the 2.4Ghz signal from my router. The downside of course is that it only records when activated by the motion sensor, which was the reason I originally purchased a more traditional powered Wi-Fi system with an NVR recording 24/7. The latter is limited by power source location and this camera is intended to fill a gap in coverage in an area of the garden where there is no power. Like all battery cameras there is a wake-up time of 2 or 3 seconds – note for event recording you need to allow a pretty long period or whoever triggered the alarm will be long gone.
Points to note — mounting point needs to be accessible — IR CCTV cameras attract spiders and their webs and you need to clean the lens from time to time, but not too accessible!
So, once my microSD card arrived, I started the set-up. Registering an account with the CloudEdge app is straightforward — you can also share with up to 6 family members. Inserting the microSD card is a little hairy — there is an orientation diagram with dire warnings but it went in easy enough, often to latch a microSD you need a tool of some kind if you have fat fingers like mine, but I could do this with my fingertips. Switch on required a push on the button for a few seconds then a red light illuminated on the front of the camera. Pairing with my Wi-Fi and the app was a breeze and then a blue light appears. I have had issues in the past using a mobile phone to conduct a device pairing when you have a dual channel router and both channels have the same name, but I experienced no issues and all was connected after a few moments following the clearly explained procedure in the instruction leaflet. I liked the QR code being read by the camera. Note that when in position a blue light appears when the camera is activated and connected — this is very obvious at night, similarly the IR lights glow red and are easily seen
Once paired the app directs you to take a site survey and confirm the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough at the intended location. I had already scouted potential sites with a Wi-Fi analyser and knew it was OK, but it is still a good feature: nothing worse than installing a Wi-Fi device and then finding the signal is inadequate after it’s too late! My location is about 30 metres from the router and the app reported a 62% signal strength, although later that evening it reported 100%. The router is in a direct line with the camera with only a window between (partly why I chose the location).
I mounted the camera on a short wood offcut after connecting the solar panel (approx. 3 metre cable attached through a plastic ‘bung’, I noticed there is a smaller bung supplied with the screws to stop up that hole presumably if you don’t use the solar panel which is a nice touch). Note that the bottom of three screws is obscured by the camera which means you need to put the bottom one in centrally, slide the camera under the screw head (adjusting for tightness, so it took a few goes to get it right) and then screw in the top two screws. I then screwed the offcut to the side of an outbuilding. This method meant I got close to 300 degrees coverage rather than putting it on a wall or a tree trunk. After making sure all was working with the app, I then attached the solar panel (south facing) close by and tidied away the spare cable. 3 metres of cable means you can place the solar panel in an area that gets full sun while putting the camera somewhere shadier where it won’t be dazzled. Interestingly with all the waving about and going up and down ladders the camera remained connected throughout
Playing with the app I discovered it has good smooth pan and tilt, the zoom is digital and soon pixelates but it is fine as a surveillance tool. At night I had not thought about the IR illumination, and it does scatter back off the roof immediately in front of it, tilting up a bit helped a lot but its worth thinking about if you have anything reflective near the camera. IR coverage is good, at least 25 metres
It has tipped down here over the past few days and I noticed that rain can collect around the lens of the camera, shifting it into wind and adjusting the tilt blew most of it off. I also had what appeared to be some condensation on the lens but it has gone now.
Alarm management is through the app. There are various options to control sensitivity (the motion detection is tuned to humans), how long recordings are made once an alarm is triggered and a period to generate alerts which come though the app as notifications. This can be set by day(s) and you can set numerous time periods to cope with day/night at home or away etc. For example, you can have a simple overnight alert period 2000=0700 every day and also individual time periods outside that when you are working or whatever. I have tested the motion detection and it works fine and does not seem to alert on small animals like dogs (we have 3 running around) or chickens. You can also set lights and sound alarms including a steady floodlight (see photo 5) and a strobe/siren which is quite loud, especially at night. Not sure how far the detection range is as the geography of our site forces you to walk past at about 8-10 metres.
Battery management is through the app too. By the time I had installed the camera daylight was fading so the camera was on battery, but the next morning I noticed it was charging when the gloom lifted briefly. As far as I can see that’s the only way to be sure the solar panel is working. The panel seems to require direct sunlight, not just daylight, but it does charge quickly — 10% battery in around 45 minutes.
So, in summary I am impressed. Marked down the motion detection because of the wake-up time but that’s a feature of battery cameras. I reckon the night picture is better than the day picture (see 4th photo)
Its been up a week so far, I will update in a month or two
NB since i published the photo order changed, first photo is night picture with LED floodlights, second is of night IR picture
*Update 19 Jan 22*
Not sure what’s changed but the solar panel appears to be charging at lower light levels now. Battery is being maintained at 100% except on really dreary days
One night recently we were frequently passing the camera while it was set to alert. It must have alerted a dozen times.Afterwards the camera refused to respond to the app, a reset sorted it out
*Update 2 June 22*
Still going strong and alerts are reliable. Just moved the app from one phone to another with no issues
*update 28 June 22*
No issues, been away on holiday within the EU and logged in remotely via the phone app on hotel WiFi and 4g data. All worked fine, you get a data warning if you are using 4g but its not too hungry. Alerts still arrive even though we were roaming. Data is encrypted

The Anran help desk team are very helpfull, and the camera is very clear and easy to set up and use. *****
Was a bit worried at first no fault of the Camera more the positioning of were i needed the camera to fit. this camera is directly facing my hard wired system atatched to the house no proble in the daylight but at night when the infa-red kicked in was worried that it would get blinded by it.
You can see by the photo’s this was not the case.
my other concern was WIFI and being solar self charging and the rear of my property being mostly in the shade as well as winter would the battery self charge cope.
This again was no problem i really cant find a fault the sound quality on this camera ( 2 way as well ) is excellent too.
I have had ring doorbell fitted in the past and the quality of this picture and sound, alert speed is by far better.
The Movement is easy via the app at home or away the control does exactly what you want and the alert is just as fast.
This Camera performs way beyond my expectations and helps out brilliantly in a blind spot that if it was not for this camera and its performance i would have struggled to cover.

Very good Camera, easy to install and connect to the wifi and app.
You don’t have to worry about running any cables, it’s completely wireless. Just needs to be in range of the wifi.
Great picture quality . PTZ function works well and is very controllable.
Pir picks up human movements and notifies the app every time, with an included snap shot.
The solar panel keeps the camera battery charged.
Very pleased with the quality and functionality of this camera.

Simple to install and link to the CloudEdge app. Clear pictures at standard or high definition. Batteries charge quickly with solar panel (when we actually see the Sun)
I did have one problem which the customer team resolved quickly and effectively.

The ANRAN Wireless Solar Camera is a great device for a wire free installation with minimal fuss and hassle. The device is small and compact, has a nice modern design and the attached solar panel keeps the battery well charged for day to day use.
The installation couldn’t be easier. As long as you have WiFi in range and somewhere to place the solar panel in direct sunlight you can place it anywhere in seconds. The price is fair and reasonable, the ease of setup is great thanks to the phone app that enables you to connect it on WiFi and once connected you can access a live feed, access recordings, move the camera and setup and use some of the more advnaced features such as PIR Motion Alerts or two way audio.
Price is fair and reasonable, overall value for money is great and lovely looking camera.

This is my third Anran camera & can confirm their quality is a match with some of the best & better known brands and even better against some of the others.
I bought this as a gift for someone, i seen the camera being set up & the build quality seems top quality, the picture quality is good and the app works well. Only time will tell how it lasts against the British weather but i have confidence it will be fine.
