Great shear’s
Bought for daughter, who is training to be a professional Gardner.
Great quality.
Quality shears!
Quality build, sharp and a fairly long reach – but rather expensive!
Gardening is easier with ARS=KR 1000
I am thrilled with my ARS-KR-1000 Ultra Light Professional Multi-Purpose Shears.
It is light, very sharp and a great pleasure to use.
Easy to use
Very sharp and the long handles are great for long reaching
Like a hot knife through butte
Sharp, light and robust. Worth paying a bit extra for.
Sharp and very light weigh
These are simply the best shears I have used. They are very sharp and lightweight but at the same time robust. The longer handles improve reach and the cut is very good

so easy to use
Everyone said these garden shears were superb so i took a gamble and splashed out and spent big on them and boy was it worth it. The saying hot knife through butter comes to mind when you see how easy they cut through hedging. I bought these to cut my beech hedging and they did a beautiful job. Like all good tools you need to look after them make sure and oil them after use.
Warning these are razor sharp I can attest to this with a deep cut on my thumb using a heavy duty cloth to clean them after use it sliced straight through it and into my thumb, no stiches needed but super painful.
High quality and a breeze to use!
Well-designed, provided with a protective pouch and designed to last
The blades are replaceable (see photo) and available at a well-known auctions site.
Light and well balanced so not tiring to use over some time.
Safely recommended, look after them and they will do the same.

So sharp and easy to use!
I’ve only had them for less than a month, but I absolutely love these shears. I use them for hedge cutting and also for grass cutting where I want more precision than I can achieve with a strimmer.

Best shears ever!
I’m a professional gardener and I love these shears. So light and sharp, effortless to use. Have lasted well and hardly need sharpening. Love them so much I bought a second pair for home.

Shear pleasure!
Omg I just love these. They make my old (still very good) shears feel clunky. The balance and sharpness of these make them a pleasure to use.
Light and Sharp
Impressive for cutting back my small area of grass. Wish I’d bought one years ago.
Very sharp; need tightening every 6 months
These come very sharp and with good steel to the blades. I’ve had them for just over a year and sharpened them once with a rough whetstone (400 grit). They do need tightening every 6 months or so, or the loose blades will merely pinch whatever you are attempting to cut. (You’ll certainly notice when then stop working well.) They are better for fine work (like box hedges or similar) than rough plants (brambles, ivy, or pyracantha). Don’t buy this tool if you do not intend to sharpen the blade or tighten the nut. Without that simple maintenance, your bog-standard garden-centre shears will be effective for longer. But these, with proper care, are so much lighter, easier, and pleasant to use.

Effective and easy to maintain, three years late
Used constantly through the spring, summer and autumn, these are highly effective shears, extremely light for handling all day, sharp, and easy to clean. For thorough maintenance, the entire assembly comes apart in a couple of minutes. I recommend a blob of loctite on the screws as always, yet do not recognise the issues suffered by another customer if not using loctite.

Always razor sharp
That’s what ARS means and it’s true. They’re brilliant for pruning, cutting back branches, anythingsmall or large! They’re light and easy to use.
In fact we had a no-mow-May, so the lawn has grown really high, and we’ll cut the grass down to the height when we can use the mower in June!
We shan’t swap them for any other.
Ten stars
Absolutely brilliant shears…light, very sharp and easy to hold
Superb sharp shears
Excellent design, easy to use and cut extremely well and efficiently.
Top Quality - Great Results in Your Garde
In my opinion the finest hedge shears available. High purchase price, but top quality and the results speak for themselves.
A clean cut is beneficial to the health of your hedge and the atheistic of the finished job is very tidy indeed.
Don’t hesitate, a most worthwhile buy.
The shears come with their own blade protector. A gentle reminder that the blades are so sharp so safety first and keep fingers well away.
Highly recommended.

Decided to treat myself and what a treat these are..
Cutting hedge and vines more like cutting hair than woody plants..
As per previous reviews blades are razor sharpe so would recommend use of sturdy gloves during use and wipe down very carefully after use..
All in all excellent product worth the extra s

I want to prune all day!
Used these on a laurel hedge. Lovely to use, made me want to prune everything! I’ve used electric trimmers on the hedge previously and these do a much much better job. You can get a really straight, level cut with these. No tearing at the leaves. Amazingly sharp. Having the slight curve made pruning the top edge simple, just turn them over.
Light as well, i didn’t get any shoulder or arm ache (I was only pruning for about 1hr though).
I’ll probably sell the electric ones now.
We have a friend whom is a gardener and he tried the out…He now owns a pair.
Everywhere was selling around the same price, delivery was fast.

Quality produc
Very lightweight , partner loves it for trimming lawn edges / hedge> Quality product but is it 100% better than an equivalent product BAHCO which is 1/2 the price ?
Great produc
Excellent pair of shears. Still razor sharp after a lot of use
C.K.Y View
Awesome buy. Easy to use. Cuts so smoothly. Sharp. Not for thick brunches!
Razor sharp!
Really, really sharp! We are growing two laurel hedges and needed something to keep them in shape, didn’t want a power saw thing cluttering up the shed nor did I want some blunt bendy handled sheers. These sheers are great, terrifically sharp, lightweight and solid feeling.
I put off buying them for a long time because I had seen them cheaper than what I paid for them but I’m glad I bought them in the end.

Definitely recommend
Best shears I have owned and a delight to use as very sharp, balanced and light.
This pair of shears has seen regular use at least twice per week, during the growing season, cutting and trimming a 40 meter horn beam hedge, and meters of Laurel Hedges, and a fair amount of shrubby topiary plant trimming.
It has done well in all of those tasks. I do sharpen the blades when necessary, and keep the blades well oiled.
Other than that, apart from re-tightening the pivot screws, it’s been plain sailing.
However, this is not a ‘ lifetime’ tool. Unless you don’t use the shears…my niggle, and it is a moderate one, is the fact that the pivot screws are not up to scratch. It is for this reason, that my shears are now useless. I did order replacement screws, which are available, but these do not work. Once tightened you get 5 min max, before they come loose, misalign the blades, and you have to re- tighten repeatedly. This is a serious design fault, or perhaps designed specifically in this way in order to re purchase the product after 3 years. Works out at about 26.00 cost per year of use. I will buy a new pair, as I still believe these shears are the best shears available, to date, on the UK Market. Hope this helps!

I have a pair of wooden handled Japanese shears and I have a lot of hedges and shrubs that need taming. The ARS shears are so different from the traditional shears. They are very sharp, they cut with precision and feel good in the hands.
I bought a few years ago a pair of expensive Japanese scissors which were so much better than the things I had been using and so it is with these things: both do the job, it’s just that these things do it better.
If you are spending hours on end trimming hedges and trees do it with the best tools you can afford. You will not regret the expense.

Look no where else for a hedge cutte
Don’t get anything else to cut your hedge with. Will last many years and is light weight but strong enough to cut any hedge.
best shears
You get what you pay for! and although on the expensive side and was alot more than i really wanted to spend on a pair of garden shears but they are worth it. Very light, very durable and stay sharp and don’t get resin build up, still look as new 4 months on.

Best product of this type I have ever bought. Have tried a few before this is by far the best.
Excellent pdoduct.
Excellent product, light-weight and easy on the arms. Be careful, very sharp.
Sharp lightweight makes cutting easy, my trimmers we’re getting too heavy.
Lightweight and excellent in cutting, make for speed and ease.
mmmmmmm smooth
if your going to use them for box or other hedge materials these are sharp light and super smooth, if you use shears a lot, buy some you wont regret i
Cut with ease with these lightweight shears .
HAVE ONLY USED THESE SHEARS A FEW TIMES AND I AM VERY PLEASED.
Forget the rest. These are the shears that you will always want to use.
These really are excellent, professional shears. So lightweight and well balanced, you won’t want to put them down. The long handles make them very adaptable and far-reaching. I only wish I’d discovered them years ago.

Terrific product . Access to spare blades for this appear to be limited in the uk.
Like : Amazing ease of use . An outstanding garden tool. Very sharp. Iightness enables more work to be carried out with ease.
Used them today trimming a high , 50m long hedge. Lightness really does matter !
Dislike : l bought these shears on Am.uk . At this time l also wanted to buy a spare set of blades , but not available on Am.uk.
( Tried the other main uk online seller but they block the buying of products labelled as ” blades “: lronically , they sell these shears with blades attached ). UK ,Knife-related legislation possibly ?

satisfying
his is an excellent tool despite being extremely expensive. It turns what is normally a chore into a precise and satisfying pastime.
Lighter weight than any shears I’ve had in the past.
Excellent shears even if a bit on the expensive side. Bought these as I do a lot of gardening and wanted cutting of plants etc above shoulder height to not put so much strain on my shoulders. Don’t have to stop so often when cutting higher with these. So sharp and so lightweight. Be careful when cleaning blades, as has been said before. Made in Japan and what are Japan good at making – Samurai swords – I rest my case.

Super sharp and very easy to use
These shears are absolutely razor sharp, which is exactly what you need in a tool like this. Really lightweight and well-balanced, which makes it extremely easy to use. I have used a small diamond hone just to keep the edges perfect, but it’s probably not really needed.

Love 'em
Fed up with shears that don’t cut grass so I paid a little more for these. They are a joy to use, beautifully engineered and razor sharp I absolutely love them

Excellent...
I cut all my box balls and pyramids with it and it worked a treat! Really sharp and easy to handle – very effective. If I had one criticism I would say that the levers could be slightly (2 inch) shorter… But I like the slimness and the blades are good quality. I tried many different clippers and these are by far superior. Must say this is quite important if you have plenty of topiary to cut…!!
Absolutely brilliant! I was reluctant to spend the extra as these are about 3 times the price I would usually pay, but have NO regrets. I wish I’d bought these years ago. They make an easy job of pruning and I don’t get achey arms after using them for hours. I love everything about them!
I use them for a beech hedge, Leylandi, roses, apple trees, basically anything I can get my hands on gets a trim when I’ve got these out!!!
very light weigh
I would like them to produce a pair with longer blades but the pair i have are very sharp and excellent to use
very well made
I am over 87 and these are the best shears I have ever had
Quality Shears
Quality shears – I have a few ARS garden tools and they never disappoint. Nice and light with a decent reach and of course very sharp. Highly recommended.
As others have said, these are ferociously sharp – like doing the garden with a 10″ razor.
I just made mincemeat of a large box shrub. The blades cut through 2-3mm woody stalks with ease and trim the leaves with absolute precision.
Useful too for weeding out stray rose and buddleia shoots that couldn’t be reached with secateurs.
Very impressed.
Time will tell how long the blades last, but certainly first impressions are very good.
I cleaned the blade with a dish cloth, and sliced straight through it.
Care is required!
Price seems to vary enormously. Seen these at 67 to 75 odd on Amazon and even 90 elsewhere. Much cheaper abroad, but postal costs make up the difference.

Sharp and powerful
Well constructed shears that are very light and great to use. Very sharp blades that can be unscrewed and repaced so that you don’t have to buy another set of shears

Cuts well and ligh
Brilliant so far great weight for older and arthritic hands
Ultra sharp Ultra ligh
Made light work of trimming my hedge, So light to use and so very sharp, Worth paying the extra money for over cheaper shears.
Buy once and buy the bes
Beautifully made high quality super sharp shears. I have no criticism. Garden centres sell knock-off versions under name of Burgon and Ball which I have tried and are not as good.
