Perfectly designed for mounting/ screwing to things.
Colourful lights make it easy to monitor the status.
Some may say a slight negative is that they get hot. This is true, they do heat up and are quite warm to the touch. This hasn’t caused me any issues yet and they run 24/7.
High quality extenders, I’d highly recomend.
I have been using AV Access products for a few years. This extender is extremely good quality.
Bought so I could use uhd sky q in another room. This has worked perfectly with a 30 meter cat 6 cable. Not used the infra red as my remote is Bluetooth so has worked perfectly
I’ve used many different brands and models of extenders. I’ve only been running this one for about a week using 75ft of cat7 high-speed shielded HDMI cables and metal grounded female rj45 wall plugs. Picture does seem cleaner and sharper then the other extenders I’ve used and I have used higher end Crestron and Extron extenders.

I brought this when having some work done to the house after advice from the electrician.
It has allowed us to connect the Virgin Media V6 box under the stairs to the TV in the living room which is 10-15 metres away and the 4k picture quality is excellent. I had a previous product that couldn’t deal with 4k (had a blank screen with sound playing on some channels) but this handles everything perfectly.
I’m not tech savvy so will not go into the details of the set up, but all I can say is that it works flawlessly and I was able to set it up with little stress.
I bought this to use with an Xbox series X, when used with high quality HDMI cables the video and audio quality is second to none! I’m using it to send my gaming from a Utility cupboard to my living room tv and it works perfectly, the run is about 10m using a relatively standard CAT6 Ethernet cable i picked up from ScrewFix. The only thing I noticed is that the units do get rather hot to the touch, this may be absolutely normal but something to remember when placing as it’s going to add more heat to any media setup! Apart from that its is perfect!

I purchased these for a ceiling mount projector system at my church. I’m writing this review a little late as it has been installed and working for a while. It has handled the Full HD (1080p) signals from the computer without any glitches. I used pre-made 125 foot Cat-6 ethernet patch cables for the connection. I like that I only have to power it from one end.
I bought these HDMI extenders and was very sceptical that they would work, having tried so many other brands. But these worked great and the picture quality was great. I got support for the installation and had a small issue which was dealt with by Alex. I would highly recommend these extenders, AV Access provide great after sales support, this is very important especially when dealing with an online business. The picture quality on 4k is perfect. Cant fault the product and build quality and picture quality.
Thought is was odd that receiver did not have power cord but once the cat6 was connected everything worked
This project easily converts an HDMI input to Ethernet and back to HDMI on the other end. It even sends your remote signals back to the home base. Video and Audio quality are great and I would happily buy this product again.
Very straight forward to install. Using over cat 8 15m + wall socket + 5m (over the top I know but only want to lift floorboards and install in wall once). Using for projector on ceiling and sits nicely on top. Using poe to feed receiver which gets very hot. Using screwed to cork legs to separate from pj. Works flawlessly 1080p, 3D no lag, no lipsync issues. Not using 4K for now. Not using remote features.
My home theatre setup is a bit more complicated than average – I have a projector, Blu-Ray player and video game consoles that all connect back to a head end in my utility room. The cable run between my theatre room and the utility room uses Cat6 so I need a few extenders to transmit the various signals. The AV Access units have worked flawlessly transmitting 4k signals so I’m glad I selected these over some much more expensive alternatives.
I’ll add this: After running this setup for a couple of years, one of my AV Access power cords broke at the connector end. I contacted AV Access to discuss and Ryan arranged for free delivery of a new adapter, which is now powering the unit again. The customer service response was exceptional and for that reason I’m a customer for life. I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon but I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I felt in this case it was merited.
Bought a couple of these for an installation for a customer. Having used much more expensive ones before I was a bit nervous that they wouldn’t perform very well. How wrong I was. Installed, up and running and working for over two years without a fault. One of the units was a spare which was waiting for the customer to get a TV which, for various reasons, took until recently to happen. Unfortunately when I went back they had thrown away the box which had the IR emitter in it. I contacted AV Access who are sending one direct to the customer without complaint. Now that is customer service!
Great way to extend 4k signal from my amp to projecto
Tengo instalado un receptor AV a un proyector 4K, a unos 30m sobre instalacin de Cat 5e y sin problemas.
Purchased 2 units: HDBase-T extender (4KEX70-L) and HDMI Extender (HDEX40-L). Both are quality build, very small and fit perfectly behind the TV even with a low profile wall mount. Both have worked flawlessly so far and picture quality has been perfect. I would definitely recommend these products.
Wir haben verschiedene Gerte an CAT Extendern im Haus. Allerdings ist dieses hier mein Favorit. Im Vergleich mit anderen Produkten ist dieses ganz klar die Nummer eins in Punkto Bildschrfe, Latenz, und Gesamtbildeindruck. Einstecken, spielt zuverlssig ohne Hnger oder Ruckler. Wrde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.
TOP – Support: Krzlich hat sich aus unerfindlichen Grnden pltzlich der Sender mit einer kleinen Rauchwolke verabschiedet. Eine Mail an den Support und sofort kam ein komplettes, nagelneues Set geliefert ! DAS ist Dienst am Kunden !!
Product works perfect for sky q which I use regular . I’ve gave it 4 star due to the price but I’ve had cheaper where I’ve had none stop problems good for this but I’ll be trying to source a cheaper alternative very hard selling point to customers on installs but it’s a winner.

I’ve been really impressed with this extender. I have a Virgin V6 box in an upstairs cupboard and the TV in the kitchen connected via cat6 cables and patch panel. Picture and sound quality are great and remote control works perfectly remotely. Power over Ethernet means I only have to power the transmitter, so literally just have 1 small box cable tied to the back of the TV. Am going to purchase another one to send to another room shortly.

Bought the product and it sat in its box for about 5 months. When hooking it up it worked perfectly except the IR would send messages from where our TV is back through to where the Sky box was. Tried various things, contacted the support team at AV Access.
Alex was superb, walked me through several things to check that were very straight forward to do and easy without needing any tooling or advanced skills. On determining either the transmitter or receiver IR cable was dead, he shipped me a new one that arrived next day.
Lo – it all works. I have the HD feed that I need from my SkyHD box, full remote capability and perfect picture quality.
Would recommend and when the time comes to go up to 4K, would look at the AV Access products again as part of that upgrade.

Kit delivers as advertised. HDMI, IR, RS232 and PoE all over a single cat5e/6/7 cable. I haven’t been able to test it to the limits (70m), but am very happy with my 12m cat6 I’ve run so far.
Why not 5 stars…the heat is pretty serious on the receiving end of the PoE, so much that I have considered putting an active fan on it.
The signal was transmitted over 6- feet and this HDMI extender was able to deliver a great picture .I am very pleased with the image .It is good value .
Worked a treat straight out of the box. Only needs a power supply at one end of the network cable (my previous extenders needed power at both ends – a pain, as one was in the loft). Been running for a month now with no issues. Picture quality just fine (but tbf it was with the old HDBT ones, until the transmitter packed up in its 6th year of service).
Solved my problems. Easy setup, easy to use. Don’t skimp on a good cable.
Wish they had an option to connect two HDMI source cables. I am using this to supply my tv with a satellite receiver and will also be using it to watch DVD’s, however I will have to switch the HDMI cable from one device to the other.

I did not test the IR extender, because the Virgin Media remote control can operate a hidden V6 box anyway.

Against the advice of an AV engineer I know, I bought a cheap HDMI extender before this one. It worked fine for a bit, and then packed up. You definitely get what you pay for. This item is much better made, has a number of indicator lights which would make it easy to diagnose a problem if there was one, is more versatile, and works brilliantly. The Infra red remote pass through is excellent as well.
Update: I’ve recently had a problem with the IR pass through. Alex at AVaccess couldn’t have been more helpful, and the issue is now fully resolved at no cost to myself. Another good reason for buying this item.

I wired my house with TIA 568A but this device requires TIA 568B to work with POE. The manual does mention the need for this, but does not explain what the flashing Red power light means in the troubleshooting page.
After re-punching down the wires to 568B the unit worked as it should.
The build quality is great. The IR works perfect. The case is the slimmest which makes it easy to mount anywhere.
Works great for picture but unfortunately I can’t get the remote ir blasters to work at all.
I bought 2 sets to replace the totally unreliable E-SDS HDMI Extenders. These new units work brilliantly, even at 4K. They are slightly expensive, but reliability counts.
Have been experimenting with this for use on my regular multi room installs, and so far it seems to have no issues working perfectly with all combinations and lengths of network cables hdmi cables , sources and displays. Very economical compared with other hdbaseT kit.
Excellent product, about 10m of cat 5e cable from loft where sky Q 2tb box sits to tv in living room on wall, picture quality is 4k at 8bit and picture is very good. Didn’t use the ir senders that come with kit tho as Bluetooth remote still works that come with Q box.

This HDMI Extender was the best one I have ever used. It was so simple to setup, I used it with Cat5 cable and was very surprised to see that it did deliver a 4K signal to my TV. Don’t waste your time buying anything else. Buy this one.
Ho acquistato l’extender per sostituire dei Lindy, di vecchia generazione e che non supportavano il 4K. Purtroppo nella mia installazione l’extender non si mostrato all’altezza, riuscendo a trasferire solo il segnale HD interlacciato, esattamente come i Lindy. Per tale ragione l’ho restituito anche se non ho potuto stabilire se il problema fosse l’eccessiva attenuazione del cavo Cat5/6 che uso. Il servizio stato perfetto, sia in consegna che in reso e ritengo che comunque gli extender siano ben fatti.
Worked a treat with Sky Q, I used about 30 meters of good cat5e, if it works with Sky Q 4k that`s a good sign.
AV access product support has been just fantastic. They helped me sort out my particular problem with patience. They are knowledgeable and endlessly helpful.
Their product is the highest quality I have seen on an HDMI extender, and I have used many over the last few years.
The IR In/Out works, for the 1st time in memory.

Works great. I had an older one from another company that stopped working, replaced it with this one. I do 1080p only.
I should mention that I my TV can no longer control the Virgin Media via the HDMI cable, but as the new V6 remote control uses a RF signal I can use that remote from another room

Wow. Works better than I expected. Im playing games in another room through the structured ethernet cable in my home. There is no lag at all. The last extender I tried couldn’t even get a picture to the screen. Ive not tried 4k yet, but 1080p is no problem.

Great product and good value. The fact that you only need to power one end is a god-send. Many other products need power at both ends!
These work just as good as the big companies. Worth every penny. I am an Automation / Integrator and am now using these in my projects. No need to spend double or more in a Non Video Matrix system.
Build quality is top-notch, and basically it was plug-n-play, set it up in just under 1 hour, and the majority of time was spent on getting cardboard boxes up to hold the test equipment and actually cabling with brand new cables from plastic bags. It must only be powered on either side, so it gets very flexible. LED indicators are super tiny but very well observable, so they will not bother too much blinking all the time. There are red-green-blue, so very easy to distinguish them also from far away. Picture quality itself seems super awesome, I tested it with 10-20 minutes of Kodi with 1080p material, and the picture was sharp and fluid. When I will have my projector I will test with whole movies, but I do not see why it would not work.
A minor thought: For me the receiver end gets a tad bit hot on the touch, I hope it will not be an issue on the long run, but be prepared for heat dissipation to be something to look for.
All in all, for the current (discounted) price, this is a no-brainer for someone wanting an HDBaseT Lite kit to provide 1080p without issues, and even beyond that. Highly recommend to get these if you are in the lookout for a cheap solution for HDBaseT Lite, all the rest I could buy was way over this price-range.
Used these to replace a previous system that kept hanging up during operation such that it required a power reset of the receiver. This system was easy to install, only requires one power supply as long as you have a power point near the transmitter, provides excellent signal quality and the IR units work well with a Panasonic DVR. The only downside was only one connector is supplied for the RS232 connection.
Nice bit of kit, but beware only supports 8 bit.

I have used a variety of HDMI extenders. This is the best one yet. A qucik read of the instructions, plugged the units in and it worked first time.
The picture quality if fantastic at 1080p.
The POE really helps as I no longer need a second power supply by the TV on the wall.
My only comment is the receiver unit runs a little warm. I will monitor this over the next few weeks.

Had to get a 1080p signal from my youview box downstairs into my bedroom upstairs. As I may be upgrading the youview to the UHD model soon chose this extender. Ordered this as a replacement to a different HDMI extender that didn’t work. I have cat 6 cabling throughout the house but the patch panel and sockets I have are all cat 5 so wasn’t sure if it would work. As I mentioned another unit didn’t. Was thinking I would have to change the patch panel and sockets over to cat 6 but this worked straight out of the box with great picture quality. Very happy!
This is a great piece of equipment. Great packaging, very robustly made and does exactly what it says it should. I highly recommend it and will absolutely buy more products from this seller.
Please note however that this particular variant does NOT support ARC but the seller does have another product which does support ARC.

Easy to set up and use. It has allowed me to move my media boxes down to the mechanical room so as not to clutter my master bedroom two floors up. The infrared receiver and transmitter works as expected. I have not tested of the 4K compatibility yet. No issues.

Mes anciens convertisseurs taient trs sensible et l’image disparaissait lorsque j’actionnais un interrupteur dans la pice.
Je n’ai plus ce phnomne avec ces 2 botiers . Pas encore test en 4K mais c’est le but de la manuvre. Je prvois d’acheter un sony VPL 320ES
Never did sort out the IR problem but I am now using the Sky Q Touch Remote (the new one with proper buttons) and the bluetooth on that is much more powerful and can control the Sky box from the adjoining room so no IR pass through needed.
It’s not cheap, consider the fact that I’m just replacing a 1080p extender (a $50 dollars device). but it just works. 5 mins and my problem is solved. I haven’t tried it with 4k though.
These work perfectly, out of the box. I’m using them over around 40m of cat-6 STP, and they’re more reliable than units costing several times their price.

J’avais achet un premier extender HDMI plus bas de gamme et j’avais rgulirement des pixels qui clignotaient l’cran.
Avec celui-ci le problme a disparu (je l’ai eu une fois mais il a suffit de dbrancher puis rebrancher le cble HDMI pour rgler le problme). De plus cet extender fait POE : l’extender qui envoie le signal alimente celui qui le reoit par le cble ethernet, ce qui simplifie l’installation et fait conomiser une prise de courant.
En clair c’est un produit efficace et de qualit.

In my work I fit cctv and Iam an electronics engineer doing office machines so I do tend to know what is good or bad over the years.
No plastics on.this little box all metal and power source is connected and one end also you screw it in so the lead will not come out never seen this before on items at this price very good.

I’ve fitted a few of these extenders, the build quality is excellent and work as described. The added bonus is the power supply can be fitted at either the source or the reveiver end.

This product works as expected, transmitting video and audio as well as IR signal through the network cable that was in my wall.
Wanted to write this review to specifically talk about the support from this company, I had disconnected my system for a few months while my home was going through renovations and when I went back to set it up I couldn’t get it to work again. AV Access’s customer support was very helpful trying to troubleshoot the issue and in the end when we couldn’t solve it, they sent me a new unit. I always say that a company can be judged be how they react when there are problems and they did an excellent job

I am so glad finding this unit with such a nice price. I just installed it to extend the 4K signal to my bedroom and it works perfectly. What impressed me the most is that the unit only needs to be powered one side which is really convenient.
