I brought this radio for my mum to use in the garden when she is out there planting. It’s ideal because it’s rechargeable and perfect sound because it’s DAB. She charges it over night and it will last a long time while in use. She even uses it when she comes inside and has it on sometimes when doing rhe house work. She is very pleased with it and so am I.
I am very pleased with my purchase but I do have negative points about it. The first relates to the user manual. I think it could go into a bit more detail over using the volume/dimmer/enter etc control and the second is that there is a minor annoyance over the sound volume. It is a pity that after you switch it off and then on again the sound volume is at the default level and not the volume it was set at before. I discovered that when the battery is being charged you can actually see the progress in the top row of the LCD. I particularly like the mellow sound from the radio and the info you get when listening to a programme in DAB.
Easy to use radio that produces a good sound suitable for the average home. The internal rechargeable battery lasts for a few hours before needing to recharge which is done fairly quickly. The only downside was the carrying handle which cannot be hidden away and came creased out of shape. The radio is fairly well built and is good value for money.
I’ve had this digital radio for almost a month, so have had time to familiarise myself with it.
One of the first things I did was remove the white strap as (like others have found) due to the way it is packed, has a permanent crease. Also the strap cannot be nicely tucked away so removal is the only option. This is done by simply unscrewing the two bolts on the side with a hex key.
Initial setup was easily done and stations were found in moments. The unit can store up to 30 or your favourite stations using the pre-set function which is handy.
The sound is very impressive. The bass response is most noticeable, and I had to decrease this setting – and I’m someone who’s addicted to bass. There is no distortion either.
As well as digital radio you can also select old school FM broadcasts, but let’s face it, who still prefers this option? The inclusion of Bluetooth allows you to ping audio from your smartphone so that you can use the unit as a speaker and get decent sound rather than the tinny noise from your phone’s speakers.
If you prefer, you could use the short cable included to plug into your phone’s headphone output for an uninterrupted connection (choosing the AUX function) – I keep the cable handy as I like to listen to Audible books from my phone.
As far as looks go, this radio does seem more expensive than at first glance. The layout is simple and uncluttered, and the LED screen is large enough to read without squinting. You can also cycle through the brightness of the screen by pressing the volume knob.
I’m very impressed with this radio and considering it’s from a no-name company then it was a nice gamble that’s paid off.
PROS +
Amazing sound
Easy to use
Looks impressive
Handy features
Lovely appearance and well built unit. However some of the controls are complicated and a little confusing.
Also it seems to default to a particular volume setting each time I switch on. I would prefer it to remember the volume from last use. If someone knows how to achieve this I would be grateful to find out.
Well designed. Good materials for the price – feels solid and well put together. Easy set up. Bluetooth the reason for my purchase – flexibility of choice for channels to listen to. Overall a very good option for lower budget range radio
Straight out of the box set up . Nice and easy . Good sound . Easy channel hopping . Bluetooth works great . Rechargeable battery has not died yet andbeen on many wild camping excursions . A good British company
This machine is very easy to setup ,you can save your favourite stations on the different wavelengths via the preset button. It has stereo speakers and if you use it as a streaming device this is useful especially when listening to music. It has a rechargeable battery so that you can take the radio with you when you are going to spend time in the garden or shed I find this very useful. The sound quality is very good. The radio is not too heavy and has a carry strap attached.
It was not easy to find a dab+ radio with stereo speakers and a rechargeable battery but this machine hits the mark. Very pleased with it.
Bought as a Christmas present. Recipient loved it as not too big but great sound. Bought to replace previous radio. Easy to set up station favourites and screen is just the right size to read station details.
Bought this as a replacement for one that hubby bought to me which wouldn’t work properly in the bathroom, but this does everything I want it to do and it receive the channels I want to listen to in the bath, and the sound is excellent 😀
This was a present to someone who needed a new DAB+ radio to listen to Boom. Bought this after checking the reviews and so far so good. Ease of set up and sound quality excellent. Many more features yet to try out. Seems to work equally well on mains and battery.
I find this radio very intuitive to use. The only thing that takes some getting used to is you have to press and hold the on button for a while to turn it on. The digital reception is very good – much better than a previous DAB radio I had in the same place. The sound is perfect for my needs, though I don’t want it very loud so haven’t tested that. I love that I can charge it up and use it away from a socket as well. It looks very nice and feels well made.
My initial reaction to this product was delight. It did all the things I needed it for, the sound was better than I was expecting (Bass and Treble can be adjusted directly by pressing the EQ button on the front) and pairing to my phone is automatic and reasonably fast. But, there is a …but!
The radio has a ‘Stand-by’ function (sort of). When you press the power button after listening to whatever, the radio goes into ‘Stand-By’ but there is no way to get it back out of stand-by except by pressing the power button again which powers the radio off then turning it back on again (I’ve tried every button on the thing). This unfortunately resets the clock to 0:00 (which will set itself from the radio if that option is enabled) but the point is, what is the point of stand-by if you have to turn it off anyway? There is no mention of the Stand-by feature in the manual save for the button list saying ‘Power On/Off – Standby’ That’s it! Other than that, nada!
It’s only a small thing but it can get annoying. I’d give 4.5 Stars if I could because the rest of the setup is well worth the money.
I’d done a bit of research on dab radios and was drawn to this one due to reviews. Have to say I’m really impressed with the sound quality and reception for the price. Really good all round Dab radio.
It’s a love hate for me. The sound is good enough and is reasonably loud for small room but it has issues.
Simple tasks like switching off is complicated. Its a long press to switch on. Press again and it goes to standby which shows the time. To switch on you have to press again which switches the display off and then need to long press to turn unit on. This get annoying if on Bluetooth connection and you pause for a while and it goes in to standby.
Other annoyances are the time doesn’t seem to be retained and is refreshed from the radio station. Great if switch on radio but if on Bluetooth when switchwd on time starts as 00:00. The last annoyance I have is periodically there’s a blip in the sound probably less than half a second of silence but it happens every so often. First I though it was the dab radio station signal, but it also happens on bluetooth so it’s got to be the unit.
Moving on the device has plenty of presets and the dab radio playback is fine and Bluetooth connection is simple. I normally use Bluetooth to play podcast which sound fine but music sounds great and full with the stereo 2 speaker setup.
I like the unit but and the other hand it annoys me but that said I live with it as it does what I need. It’s not perfect in my view but has the potential to be if my annoyances were ironed out. Its never going to be as refined as a top brand device but what you get is a device that performs well at a readable price.
I’ve had this product since the summer of last year and it performs very well. The DAB sound quality is good and no problem using Bluetooth from my iPad and MacBook. The volume and tone are excellent. I use it for listening to a range of musical genres, classical, pop, jazz, and also to podcasts and spoken word radio Absolutely perfect for me in my relatively compact living room. I usually run it from the mains, the battery charge doesn’t last very long but this is probably because I leave it in standby mode. I recommend this product and would buy agai
Fantastic radio with Dab+, Bluetooth, and for me the best feature of all, a rechargeable battery that is recharged inside the unit. Plug in and it sets itself up. Great value. Very happy with it.
Top notch , I see some people have left bad feedback for trivial things but all I can say is if u know your tech you shall not be disappointed , the best dab radio I have purchased , for the money I don’t think you can go wrong defo 5 stars enjoy people
Bought this after researching what DAB is good in an area with poor reception. Really happy with this radio. Sound quality is excellent and reception is great. Nice adjustable bass that gives a powerful but balanced sound. I have a Roberts istream in a different room and this totally holds it’s own against that at a much lower price. No remote is a slight negative but not enough to justify the extra money needed to buy a second Roberts. Looks wise, it’s great. Being ultra picky l think a white power lead would look better with this model. Would I recommend this model? Without hesitation, I don’t think you’ll get better even spending 3 times as much.
Easy to use, good sound quality, as rechargeable can take anywhere eg garden, garage, or can use mains. Bought as a birthday present and as amazon showed as radio plus a mains plug bought this. When gift was later opened found it already includes mains plug in the box, by this time to late to send plug back.
The radio is excellent value for money and looks good. Good sound quality with bass and treble controls to set to your own preference. Would recommend.
This radio sounds wonderful and the sound continues to improve as it is played. The design and portability are good but the cheap, quasi-veneer and horrible, tacky looking plastic handle are so nasty we almost sent it back. In is a quality mechanism in cheap clothing.
Good sound quality, good clear signal, solid, fairly easy to use.
The first one malfunctioned after a month but the second one has been fine so far (approx 3 times months)
Would recommend.
Very pleased with this. Very sturdy, good sound quality, easy to set up and the charge lasts ages.
Modern design, fairly easy to change stations, would prefer push button. Display big enough, also brightness changeable. Good radio for the money.

Good radio with lots of chioce what ever you want to listen too. Good sound, good battery life and very easy to just pick it up and take to with you.

I liked the radio and all seems fine at this early stage. Not happy at the no reply when submitting the 3 year warranty.

Works effectively and good enough sound quality. We used it at drive-in cinema to tune to audio in our car.

Good sound. Plenty of bass for a portable. Much bigger than it looks on Amazon, so not exactly portable. But we’ll built and robust.

Can’t update it for some reason, after trying update it just says welcome to digital radio? Followed all steps?

I love everything about this DAB radio….. even the rechargeable battery lasts quite a long time
