I bought this for my teen. She loves the radio and this one surpassed her expectations. Quality of sound and range of channels is fantastic, while the volume and controls are pretty straightforward. The portability is a huge plus too, as is the bluetooth connectivity to devices to stream the Spotify playlists. All round successful birthday present.
Love love love this. I had a refurbished one a couple of years ago that eventually died. I love to listen to music in the garden so this is ideal. The sound is amazing, lots of presets etc. Excellent reception. One charge lasts for 8 hours! Cannot recommend enough. Well worth the money and by buying new I got a good warranty as well. Excellent seller.
Bought it for enhanced sound and am not disappointed. Has a nice look about it and is very stable. Great Dab with long ariel. The wood effect classic design does not disappoint.
Previously had Azatom Horizon and the buttons failed after a while and did random functions.

You get what you pay for. This dab radio is fine in the kitchen for background music. Not really suitable for trying to fill a large room or outside. The sound is as others have said, Ok however a little tinny. I have a little Bose sound link colour 11 to compare with. It’s nowhere near as good as my Bose, but ok.
If you wear glasses you’re not going to like the small buttons. These could have been bigger. Also if like myself you’re not too tech savvy. Programming will be a chew on.
All the above said. We’re keeping it.

Very pleased with my purchase. Have been using Roberts radio until now but this is so much better. Was able to find many more stations and much better signal also the radio connects within seconds of pressing the start button. Sound through the twin speakers is great and adjustable to your preference. Battery life seems good although I haven’t had it run down to nothing. Excellent radio.
Great compact product, looked far and wide for a stereo radio with standard 2speaker look and great sound. This unit achieves all that and more. Simple to operate with battery or mains. Efficient arial and plenty of stations to choose from the spectrum on all bands, fm, am, etc. Best amazing sound !!

Sound is lowered in set positions no fine adjustment. Display has disappeared after 10months, can’t return to Amazon (outside their return date). Very disappointed, look for another make and don’t be left with a pile of crap like I have!!
Likes; Clock display remains active even on standby, good for a bedside clock, you can always check the time. If you wish, you can cycle through the brightness options to get a level that suits you. Also you can turn the display off altogether with another short push of the power button after switching to standby. Sound quality is perfectly acceptable for a radio of this type, you’re never going to get earth moving deep bass from something like this, but it certainly doesn’t sound “tinny”. Reception indoors is as good as any other DAB radios I have. Some stations are not available indoors, but are received outdoors. Not a fault of the set, just a fact of life in my location.
Dislikes; I rather hoped that it would charge my phone overnight, but the charging port isn’t active on standby. Not a big issue, I have other ways of charging my phone.
PS. Some further thoughts prompted by question asked. The Bluetooth is receive only, it cannot transmit to Bluetooth speakers/headphones. It has a headphone socket however, and Bluetooth transmitter dongles are readily available if you really need a wireless connection to speakers or headphones. I’ve also seen people ask whether it is an Internet radio, no it’s not. You can, however use Bluetooth to play any audio available on a phone, tablet or similar device through the radio. Internet radio, Spotify, sound from video, whatever. If it’ll play on your phone, you can use Bluetooth to play it through the radio speakers.
I’ve had this radio for a couple of days now so I can’t comment on longevity but I’m mightily impressed, not only by the sound quality which is exceptional for a portable radio, but also the reception of DAB. I am on the South Coast and on scanning the radio it picked up 150 stations which is exceptional. Many of the stations were duplicated because not only was I receiving all my local stations from Brighton, but also the Hampshire, Surrey and London multiplexes even though I am well outside the coverage area of those multiplexes. Sound quality is excellent with bass and treble controls and great stereo imaging from the dual speakers and no vibrations from the wooden cabinet, which is infinitely preferable to a cheap plastic one. You can spend 4 times this amount on a DAB radio and you won’t get anything better than the Azatom. It does everything you could possibly want and then some, especially as you can also Bluetooth audio from your phone or TV to the unit and use it as a soundbar to increase the sound quality from your TV. Altogether a first class buy, I would give it 6 stars if I could, it really is that good.
Really impressed with this bit of tech. It connects to Bluetooth easily, the DAB is strong and the sound quality is perfect for the kitchen. Added bonus is the battery pack that’s included. We have been unplugging and taking outdoors. Super for the money.
This is a very versatile Radio/Bluetooth speaker.
I’ve not used the alarm clock as I have this at my place of work.
The quality of sound is very good and with the base adjustment it give a lovely strong sound.
The Bluetooth works like a dream, I use this function every day and when I switch to Bluetooth it comes up on my phone instantly so I can stream my music.
The radio can store your favourite music station for ease of access, the DAB radio works well but does require a good signal for uninterrupted listening, FM radio is also available if needed.
I like the addition of a USB port on the back of the unit, I use this to charge my mobile phone.
This can be used as a mains or battery, very portable.
Overall I’m very happy with my purchase.

Bought it for my bedside, I am an avid BBC radio listener. The retro styling goes well in my bedroom. The sound quality is fine, plenty of volume if I need it. It’s fairly easy to use and navigate, though the buttons are a little fiddly for a sleepy person in half-light. The alarm function is spot on, with the only problem being the display is very bright with the lights off. I’ve solved that with layers of camera light gel. I haven’t used any of the other functions yet.
I am absolutely delighted with this DAB radio. I have had the same make blue-tooth speaker for about five years but found myself listening to the radio a lot on my phone whilst home working, so I decided to order this to save my data. It is well worth the money. I like that it has a chargeable battery so you can take it anywhere. I have also purchased a blue-tooth transmitter so that I can connect it to my blue-tooth earphones which is fabulous. The blue-tooth transmitter I bought separately needs power, but I can just plug it straight into the back of the radio as the radio can charge other devices. This will also be great for playing spotify music as I can power my phone at the same time. I found the setup quite straight forward. Definitely recommend.
Contrary to some reviews I like everything about this radio.
I am a senior citizen and found it easy to set up.
For me the tone is very good and I particularly like the fact that I can use it as a speaker from other devices. It was very easy to pair.
For the price I feel I have a lot for my money.
We have poor DAB reception and have previously tried two well-known brand radios with little success. This radio provides excellent transmission and quality of sound. I am delighted!

CD is good and radio is adequate, as long as you receive good reception for the internal aerial, which I feel is poor and in need of an opportunity to plug into an external component.
Excellent service arrived earlier than expected. We chose the light oak finish and it looks superb. Easy to set up, great sound quality. So far no problems and there are a few features still to use. At Amazon price this is very good buy.

This radio is well built and the features are really good for a device at this price point. Overall I am really pleased with it. It is not the easiest device I have ever had to set up, for example the instruction book says that the first time you switch on it welcomes you and goes straight into a DAB autoscan. Mine switched on to FM white noise the first time I switched on, obviously someone had been there before me. The buttons are multi-functional and this is not easy to glean from the instructions, for example when listening to a DAB station pressing the Menu button cycles through the DAB info station name bandwidth date time etc. Yet the book says pressing the Menu button puts you into the Settings menu, what it should say is long pressing the button brings up this menu. It does not say anything about powering off the device which requires you to press the power button then press it again when you see Standby on the screen this powers off the machine and the LED screen goes blank. A further quirk to this is you can only power down when the power lead is not plugged in, even if the wall socket is off and it is running on battery you can only put the Radio into Standby with lead in, the LED screen shows date and time and will not power off completely. I understand why companies farm out assembly to places like China, the manufacturing costs are so much lower, but why they have to farm out the instruction books to someone whose first language is not English I will never know. Even the big global manufacturers fall into this trap, written instructions are next to useless. Instructions should be written as if the buyer has never seen the device or any other similar device made by others before. I wonder how many people return items simply because they cannot figure out how they work, this could make them look stupid in the eyes of the manufacturer, but it’s still a lost sale so who is the stupid one now.
Purchased for my wife as a birthday present, she loves it. Easy to setup, can pair with Bluetooth so works as a bigger speaker for phones, battery life untested as it has remained plugged in. Good value for the money.
Delivered next day ! Great radio. Very clear instruction booklet. Within minutes I had stored all my favourite radio stations in the presets.
I am no techi, but I also managed to connect to my computer, via the Blue tooth connection. So I am able to listen to mp3 tracks on it.

It picks up my stations clearly even with the aerial retracted. It sounds quite good once the EQ is set. The screen can be read in the dark without lighting up the room.
One annoying quirk is that it doesn’t apply your EQ settings when the alarm wakes it up, so you have to turn it off and on before you can set it again as the select button is also Snooze.
I bought this radio after reading reviews and checking the features. I’ve had it around 10 days now and I’m impressed with the quality. I compared the radio with a similar model costing 3 times the price. I’m glad I didn’t pay the extra cash. The radio looks very smart and sounds nice. The battery is very good. I use the radio in my bathroom mainly. It gets used around 30 minutes a day. I use it at half volume and it went 8 days before I charged it again today, and it was still showing one bar of the three for the battery. I’d buy it again tomorrow if I needed it.
This is an excellent little DAB radio but I have been most impressed by Azatom’s customer service. After the display went dim, I emailed customer service, and was immediately sent a new unit with a paid return envelope for the old one. Very impressive.
I previously had an early wood framed Pure Tempus DAB Radio which has lasted well over 20 years, but recently gave up the ghost and was diagnosed as not repairable.
I was looking for something affordable, less than 100, that has a reasonable amount of oomph, not a tinny sound. I also wanted it portable, and this radio includes an in built battery pack. I want to be able to move it round the house, and sometimes take it out in the garden to listen to where I am working or relaxing.
Alterative Pure radios are good but expensive, and a battery pack is also an extra almost 40, so excellent quality, probably superior build quality, but double the cost.
I had not heard of Azatom as a brand before, British designed, but manufactured in China. I went for the larger twin speaker stereo model. The sound is good, no rattling case at full volume. The instruction manual is not the best, you have to work your way through reading around the information then trying things out. The case is wood around the sides, the front white finish looks a bit cheaper and may mark, the carrying strap is flexible faux leather. The display screen at low setting is a bit bright for the bedroom, and maybe a bit too dim on a bright sunny day. Tuning in initially was quick and straightforward. and it was already partly charged, but completed to full charge quickly. For less than 70 including the rechargeable in built battery with good volume, and a decent sound quality, it seemed the best available set on offer, and so far so good after a few days use.
The only concern is from some other reviewers where the radio has stopped working or developed problems just a few months after purchase, so fingers crossed that longer reliability and durability will be OK. Only time will tell, not quite as classy as the Pure alternatives, but equally a great deal cheaper, I hope it will be money well spent. If I run into any issues I will return to update this review. At present I am delighted with this purchase.
I’ve owned and been very happy with Pure DAB radios before but was looking a nice-looking wooden-body model for our kitchen, that offered Bluetooth, line in, DAB2, and simple controls. This one was my choice, with part of the appeal being the <60 price tag. I've been very impressed, had it more than 6 months now. The body is probably a veneer but the finish is good and easy to clean given we're using it in the kitchen. Controls are simple to follow and it's picked up a huge range of station. The sound is very good, not quite as rich as a Pure Evoke-2 I've had for many years, but the sound controls can be set up to max the bass while getting a good overall balance, giving a good warm tone for voice and music. For the money I paid for this, I'd be surprised if there's a better DAB radio out there.

Excellent sound quality and lots of volume, control of bass and treble included, really makes a difference to the sound. Easy to carry around with nice strong handle and rechargeable battery.. I use my radio in kitchen and shed when I’m futtering.
It is a fairly substantial item but I suppose you need that to produce a good sound. The controls are fine but I always have a problem with preset stations. In the past you may have had five buttons for five preset stations which was easy. Now you have a lot more but it is much more complicated. In the dark or half-asleep it can be a challenge. Apart from that I am very happy.
Works well very good signal with out having the ariel extended all the way. Nice stereo sound. The bluetooth is very good too no interference or humming on low volume the display is very clear has well. good value for the price. And there no loud start up tones when you turn it on. And it remembers the volume you left it at.
Went by the reviews and wasn’t disappointed, super easy to store channels and pair device with blue tooth, sound quality is great for size and price of unit. It has adjustable bass and treble which is important depending on what location(s) it’s being used in.

Brilliant. Sound is really good even at high volume. With bass and treble control easy to preset stations ( of which there are 30 DAB and 30 FM ). Dont know how long battery lasts upto now over 4 hours and still going. Charging the phone aswell is a bonus. Cant find any problems at all. The backlight can be dimmed so its great for the bedroom, but using it mainly for outside. Would recommend this radio to anyone. 3 year warrenty was easy to register at Azatom website.
Literally a great looking sound system, crisp sound with easy set up, dab radios are awesome and this little thing is stylish and goes with my room perfectly. Looks expensive and display is very clear. Can charge phones too which is really handy

I bought the radio for my mother in laws birthday, the long battery life was important because she spends hours out in her garden, so the portability and battery were important, She loves it, another tick in the box

Fairly simple to use. Needed to preset dab stations manually since automatic search didn’t seem to work for me, but simple enough and very happy with the appearance and sound quality; just what i wanted.
We bought this radio as a bedside alarm and DAB radio to update a very old bedside radio. It has proved excellent and as it is portable we can play this outside. Pleased with the look of the machine and its many features.

Got this for work in the hope it would work as its a metalled framed warehouse. Much to my surprise it did and it had a great DAB signal. Other DAB’s have been rubbish. Setup was a piece of cake, I turned the power on and it worked.

The convenience of the rechargeable battery can’t be underestimated after pricing them up for other radios. Quality of sound is good. Only downsides are the battery display, although easy to read inside, is difficult on a sunny day outside. The handle feels a little cheap but does it’s job. Overall I would recommend and am pleased with it. Bargain !!
Easy to set up and use Bluetooth to Smartphone for playlist. The rudimentary Equaliser gives a pleasing 30 Watt output. Aux to Flat Screen TV also augments the lack lustre built-in sound card. Solid build makes it very portable and the option to charge my phone from the battery is a bonus.
Good sound quality, great connectivity and functionality, my only criticism is the battery life. I generally use it indoors so not a but problem, but if you intend to take it out of the home I suggest you look for one with a better battery.
Literally use this radio every day just for general use and as an alarm clock, I find it much nicer to wake up to the radio playing as apposed to an irritating alarm! Highly recommend this product, for the price I would say the quality of the speakers is exceptionally good.
Small and light, very portable. Sound is clear though just slightly boxy. You have to scroll for presets which is a bit fiddly. I decided to return and pay more but a good buy for the price.
Plus points: Great looks, excellent sound quality, great DAB reception. Display can be dimmed to a low level and still be seen but not keep you awake. Gradual alarm so starts quiet and gets louder.
Negative points: Alarm setting could be more straightforward and if you run it of the mains electricity the battery is constantly charging. The difference between 1 and 2 on the volume dial is quite distinct. 1 a bit quiet and 2 a bit loud.
On the whole though an excellent purchase and I am considering buying a second one.
Value for money. Great little machine, bought as a gift and my mum to replace her old pure radio which broke after many years. I researched all DAB radios before deciding on the Azatom Multiplex D2.
I have previously purchased other items from Azatom and all have been excellent.
The radio has now arrived and fully lives up to expectations in all aspects.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced DAB radio with future-proof technology and Bluetooth 5 then I can thoroughly recommend this product.
Easy set up , found our favourite channel and no issues, great sound with antenna only extended a little. Much better sound quality than the old Dab radio we had, looks great light oak and white blends in not an eyesore at all. Cannot really comment on battery life as only used the mains up to now.

Purchased this radio as my previous DAB radio could no longer pick up the newer DAB+ standard broadcasts. The sound quality is excellent with different presets available. Also the ability to connect via Bluetooth was a plus for me. It also seems way more sensitive than my previous radio as it picks up stations that the old one could not.

Bought this to replace our old DAB radio which had a dodgy screen and I must say this is a vast improvement.
Good sound quality and zillions of Chrystal clear stations.
The design of this unit is also very good and it blends right in perched on our wooden kitchen worktops.
I also like the nice clear clock face the screen displays when its off.
I liked the sound quality of this radio and I found it very easy to adjust the volume . I rarely turn it off and look forward to listening to my favourite classical music station. I have not yet explored any other stations. I am very pleased to have had it bought for me, and I recommend this radio to everyone who prefers to listen all day and every day to their favourite programmes.

The device sounds great and it even has a built in battery which charges from the mains supply.

Great little radio, brilliant sound quality, easy enough to set up just had problems with the preset stations, thank god for my 22 year old daughter who worked it out in a flash! So all good, sound is brilliant, you can change the equaliser to your sound liking, bluetooth feature is an added bonus, that was simple to do! can`t comment on the battery life as I have ours plugged into the mains!
Received the radio in four days, very fast delivery. I bought the one in walnut, it’s a beautiful looking radio. As soon as I plugged it in, it started scanning for a station. Can’t say enough about how gorgeous it is!! Delighted with this product. Can’t comment on the battery life as it’s used in the kitchen. Would thoroughly recommend the radio and the seller.
This really does seem to be a quality product! The sound reproduction is superb, as is the tuning set up and reception strength in a location that our previous DAB radio found difficult. It looks great too. I can’t comment on battery yet, but other buyers have been impressed. The only slight ‘niggle ‘ are slightly unclear instructions regarding pre-sets.
Bought this radio (in black) for work, apart from having DAB & FM capabilities it comes with Bluetooth & a USB port, which is very hand. The DAB reception is great, picked up 62 stations, I live in East London area, sound quality is very good with adjustable bass & treble, can’t say how long the battery lasts as I generally use it via the mains, but it’s great value for money and far cheaper than other top brand “site” radios. I would definitely recommend this product.
So far very pleased with this purchase. Had been trying to get new alarm radio that could tune to Dab Virgin. The radio has excellent an quality of sound.
The light dims enough for me at night time. The alarm is not the easiest to set but there are two so once done you probably won’t need to adjust too often. The snooze is activated by pressing the volume control when the alarm sounds, so it is easy to reach out and be sure you are pressing right thing. Only negative is that you press once for 5 mins, twice for 10 and so on, there is no 10 min preset. I ended up contacting Azatom to clarify this and they were quick to come back to me with the answer, so top marks at this stage for customer service.
This a great radio for the money, sound quality is excellent rich and full, a deffinate improvement on my dab prior radio.

Very nice radio. Bought mainly for the DAB plus and the built in battery. Bluetooth and FM are a bonus. Alas it came with a small dent in the LH speaker, I’ll have to live with that. Plenty of volume and for the money it’s excellent.
UPDATE, If the aerial breaks, its NOT covered under the warranty. Mine broke by the hinge, I didn’t snap it. Had to buy a replacement. I still think the radio is good, but with that attitude I will not deal with them again…

I have decent headphones momentum on ear and the amazing foster 50s bell like sound, this dab radio gives of bell like sound clear defined crisp for 54 you’re laughing we will see about the one test left, time wear and tear,w with the extended warranty the manufacturer is confident?
I bought this radio last week. It has a good sound for its size. The battery also seams to be good. Today I have listened to it all day on the battery. I am self employed and am using this radio on site. It was easy to scan for channels, it would be better if it had some preset buttons for the favourites, but saving and selecting the presets is not difficult but does involve pressing a button and turning the dial. The display is easy to read and the time display is a handle feature. The brightness of this can be adjusted. Stuart L.
I really like the rich sound delivered by this radio – and the extended battery life for outdoor use. Compared to the German radio that this replaces the DAB reception is much better around my home as I get great reception in all rooms. Excellent product. Robustly built and easy to operate. Immediately found over 70 stations and simple to add to the presets. Good volume with no distortion. Really great to be able to Bluetooth from an ipad – much better sound quality. Only minor gripe – display scrolls a bit slowly.
Radio is great when you get a good signal. I bought this because it’s supposedly better than the others at getting good reception. It’s not, it’s the same as the others. I struggle to get good reception where I live and this is hit n miss depending on the weather. The battery on it lasts a good day and a half and it looks neat whichever room it gets put in. Overall I’m pleased but don’t buy if you live in a weak signal area.

I have a smaller, single speaker Azatom DAB unit for a bedside radio & like it so much I decided to buy this bigger model for general use in my apartment. I am very pleased with it; sound is excellent & range of DAB stations it has made available is amazing – quite something for the rural area in which I live. A great DAB/FM radio which is good value for money. Recommended.
This DAB radio, looks great, sounds great, I bought it after buying a smaller model, only one gripe was a tad fiddly in comparison with other model to preset stations, got there in the end but was not a straight forward process, it did connect easily to my iPhone and played music, which was good quality with excellent volume, overall a great product for the money

The portability is a huge plus too, as is the bluetooth connectivity to devices to stream the Spotify playlists. All round successful birthday present.

Love love love this. I had a refurbished one a couple of years ago that eventually died. I love to listen to music in the garden so this is ideal. The sound is amazing, lots of presets etc. Excellent reception. One charge lasts for 8 hours! Cannot recommend enough. Well worth the money and by buying new I got a good warranty as well. Excellent seller.

You get what you pay for. This dab radio is fine in the kitchen for background music. Not really suitable for trying to fill a large room or outside. The sound is as others have said, Ok however a little tinny. I have a little Bose sound link colour 11 to compare with. It’s nowhere near as good as my Bose, but ok.
If you wear glasses you’re not going to like the small buttons. These could have been bigger. Also if like myself you’re not too tech savvy. Programming will be a chew on.
All the above said. We’re keeping it.

Very pleased with my purchase. Have been using Roberts radio until now but this is so much better. Was able to find many more stations and much better signal also the radio connects within seconds of pressing the start button. Sound through the twin speakers is great and adjustable to your preference. Battery life seems good although I haven’t had it run down to nothing. Excellent radio.
Great compact product, looked far and wide for a stereo radio with standard 2speaker look and great sound. This unit achieves all that and more. Simple to operate with battery or mains. Efficient arial and plenty of stations to choose from the spectrum on all bands, fm, am, etc. Best amazing sound !!

Sound is lowered in set positions no fine adjustment. Display has disappeared after 10months, can’t return to Amazon (outside their return date). Very disappointed, look for another make and don’t be left with a pile of crap like I have!!
Likes; Clock display remains active even on standby, good for a bedside clock, you can always check the time. If you wish, you can cycle through the brightness options to get a level that suits you. Also you can turn the display off altogether with another short push of the power button after switching to standby. Sound quality is perfectly acceptable for a radio of this type, you’re never going to get earth moving deep bass from something like this, but it certainly doesn’t sound “tinny”. Reception indoors is as good as any other DAB radios I have. Some stations are not available indoors, but are received outdoors. Not a fault of the set, just a fact of life in my location.
Dislikes; I rather hoped that it would charge my phone overnight, but the charging port isn’t active on standby. Not a big issue, I have other ways of charging my phone.
PS. Some further thoughts prompted by question asked. The Bluetooth is receive only, it cannot transmit to Bluetooth speakers/headphones. It has a headphone socket however, and Bluetooth transmitter dongles are readily available if you really need a wireless connection to speakers or headphones. I’ve also seen people ask whether it is an Internet radio, no it’s not. You can, however use Bluetooth to play any audio available on a phone, tablet or similar device through the radio. Internet radio, Spotify, sound from video, whatever. If it’ll play on your phone, you can use Bluetooth to play it through the radio speakers.

I’ve had this radio for a couple of days now so I can’t comment on longevity but I’m mightily impressed, not only by the sound quality which is exceptional for a portable radio, but also the reception of DAB. I am on the South Coast and on scanning the radio it picked up 150 stations which is exceptional. Many of the stations were duplicated because not only was I receiving all my local stations from Brighton, but also the Hampshire, Surrey and London multiplexes even though I am well outside the coverage area of those multiplexes. Sound quality is excellent with bass and treble controls and great stereo imaging from the dual speakers and no vibrations from the wooden cabinet, which is infinitely preferable to a cheap plastic one. You can spend 4 times this amount on a DAB radio and you won’t get anything better than the Azatom. It does everything you could possibly want and then some, especially as you can also Bluetooth audio from your phone or TV to the unit and use it as a soundbar to increase the sound quality from your TV. Altogether a first class buy, I would give it 6 stars if I could, it really is that good.
Really impressed with this bit of tech. It connects to Bluetooth easily, the DAB is strong and the sound quality is perfect for the kitchen. Added bonus is the battery pack that’s included. We have been unplugging and taking outdoors. Super for the money.

The quality of sound is very good and with the base adjustment it give a lovely strong sound.
The Bluetooth works like a dream, I use this function every day and when I switch to Bluetooth it comes up on my phone instantly so I can stream my music.
The radio can store your favourite music station for ease of access, the DAB radio works well but does require a good signal for uninterrupted listening, FM radio is also available if needed.
I like the addition of a USB port on the back of the unit, I use this to charge my mobile phone.
This can be used as a mains or battery, very portable.
Overall I’m very happy with my purchase.

Bought it for my bedside, I am an avid BBC radio listener. The retro styling goes well in my bedroom. The sound quality is fine, plenty of volume if I need it. It’s fairly easy to use and navigate, though the buttons are a little fiddly for a sleepy person in half-light. The alarm function is spot on, with the only problem being the display is very bright with the lights off. I’ve solved that with layers of camera light gel. I haven’t used any of the other functions yet.
I am absolutely delighted with this DAB radio. I have had the same make blue-tooth speaker for about five years but found myself listening to the radio a lot on my phone whilst home working, so I decided to order this to save my data. It is well worth the money. I like that it has a chargeable battery so you can take it anywhere. I have also purchased a blue-tooth transmitter so that I can connect it to my blue-tooth earphones which is fabulous. The blue-tooth transmitter I bought separately needs power, but I can just plug it straight into the back of the radio as the radio can charge other devices. This will also be great for playing spotify music as I can power my phone at the same time. I found the setup quite straight forward. Definitely recommend.
Contrary to some reviews I like everything about this radio.
I am a senior citizen and found it easy to set up.
For me the tone is very good and I particularly like the fact that I can use it as a speaker from other devices. It was very easy to pair.
For the price I feel I have a lot for my money.

CD is good and radio is adequate, as long as you receive good reception for the internal aerial, which I feel is poor and in need of an opportunity to plug into an external component.
Excellent service arrived earlier than expected. We chose the light oak finish and it looks superb. Easy to set up, great sound quality. So far no problems and there are a few features still to use. At Amazon price this is very good buy.

This radio is well built and the features are really good for a device at this price point. Overall I am really pleased with it. It is not the easiest device I have ever had to set up, for example the instruction book says that the first time you switch on it welcomes you and goes straight into a DAB autoscan. Mine switched on to FM white noise the first time I switched on, obviously someone had been there before me. The buttons are multi-functional and this is not easy to glean from the instructions, for example when listening to a DAB station pressing the Menu button cycles through the DAB info station name bandwidth date time etc. Yet the book says pressing the Menu button puts you into the Settings menu, what it should say is long pressing the button brings up this menu. It does not say anything about powering off the device which requires you to press the power button then press it again when you see Standby on the screen this powers off the machine and the LED screen goes blank. A further quirk to this is you can only power down when the power lead is not plugged in, even if the wall socket is off and it is running on battery you can only put the Radio into Standby with lead in, the LED screen shows date and time and will not power off completely. I understand why companies farm out assembly to places like China, the manufacturing costs are so much lower, but why they have to farm out the instruction books to someone whose first language is not English I will never know. Even the big global manufacturers fall into this trap, written instructions are next to useless. Instructions should be written as if the buyer has never seen the device or any other similar device made by others before. I wonder how many people return items simply because they cannot figure out how they work, this could make them look stupid in the eyes of the manufacturer, but it’s still a lost sale so who is the stupid one now.

Purchased for my wife as a birthday present, she loves it. Easy to setup, can pair with Bluetooth so works as a bigger speaker for phones, battery life untested as it has remained plugged in. Good value for the money.

I am no techi, but I also managed to connect to my computer, via the Blue tooth connection. So I am able to listen to mp3 tracks on it.

It picks up my stations clearly even with the aerial retracted. It sounds quite good once the EQ is set. The screen can be read in the dark without lighting up the room.
One annoying quirk is that it doesn’t apply your EQ settings when the alarm wakes it up, so you have to turn it off and on before you can set it again as the select button is also Snooze.
I bought this radio after reading reviews and checking the features. I’ve had it around 10 days now and I’m impressed with the quality. I compared the radio with a similar model costing 3 times the price. I’m glad I didn’t pay the extra cash. The radio looks very smart and sounds nice. The battery is very good. I use the radio in my bathroom mainly. It gets used around 30 minutes a day. I use it at half volume and it went 8 days before I charged it again today, and it was still showing one bar of the three for the battery. I’d buy it again tomorrow if I needed it.
This is an excellent little DAB radio but I have been most impressed by Azatom’s customer service. After the display went dim, I emailed customer service, and was immediately sent a new unit with a paid return envelope for the old one. Very impressive.
I previously had an early wood framed Pure Tempus DAB Radio which has lasted well over 20 years, but recently gave up the ghost and was diagnosed as not repairable.
I was looking for something affordable, less than 100, that has a reasonable amount of oomph, not a tinny sound. I also wanted it portable, and this radio includes an in built battery pack. I want to be able to move it round the house, and sometimes take it out in the garden to listen to where I am working or relaxing.
Alterative Pure radios are good but expensive, and a battery pack is also an extra almost 40, so excellent quality, probably superior build quality, but double the cost.
I had not heard of Azatom as a brand before, British designed, but manufactured in China. I went for the larger twin speaker stereo model. The sound is good, no rattling case at full volume. The instruction manual is not the best, you have to work your way through reading around the information then trying things out. The case is wood around the sides, the front white finish looks a bit cheaper and may mark, the carrying strap is flexible faux leather. The display screen at low setting is a bit bright for the bedroom, and maybe a bit too dim on a bright sunny day. Tuning in initially was quick and straightforward. and it was already partly charged, but completed to full charge quickly. For less than 70 including the rechargeable in built battery with good volume, and a decent sound quality, it seemed the best available set on offer, and so far so good after a few days use.
The only concern is from some other reviewers where the radio has stopped working or developed problems just a few months after purchase, so fingers crossed that longer reliability and durability will be OK. Only time will tell, not quite as classy as the Pure alternatives, but equally a great deal cheaper, I hope it will be money well spent. If I run into any issues I will return to update this review. At present I am delighted with this purchase.
I’ve owned and been very happy with Pure DAB radios before but was looking a nice-looking wooden-body model for our kitchen, that offered Bluetooth, line in, DAB2, and simple controls. This one was my choice, with part of the appeal being the <60 price tag. I've been very impressed, had it more than 6 months now. The body is probably a veneer but the finish is good and easy to clean given we're using it in the kitchen. Controls are simple to follow and it's picked up a huge range of station. The sound is very good, not quite as rich as a Pure Evoke-2 I've had for many years, but the sound controls can be set up to max the bass while getting a good overall balance, giving a good warm tone for voice and music. For the money I paid for this, I'd be surprised if there's a better DAB radio out there.
Simple set up, simply plug in and it scans immediately. Presets simple to do and a very nice sound from a smart looking raido.

Excellent sound quality and lots of volume, control of bass and treble included, really makes a difference to the sound. Easy to carry around with nice strong handle and rechargeable battery.. I use my radio in kitchen and shed when I’m futtering.
It is a fairly substantial item but I suppose you need that to produce a good sound. The controls are fine but I always have a problem with preset stations. In the past you may have had five buttons for five preset stations which was easy. Now you have a lot more but it is much more complicated. In the dark or half-asleep it can be a challenge. Apart from that I am very happy.
Works well very good signal with out having the ariel extended all the way. Nice stereo sound. The bluetooth is very good too no interference or humming on low volume the display is very clear has well. good value for the price. And there no loud start up tones when you turn it on. And it remembers the volume you left it at.

Got this for work in the hope it would work as its a metalled framed warehouse. Much to my surprise it did and it had a great DAB signal. Other DAB’s have been rubbish. Setup was a piece of cake, I turned the power on and it worked.

The convenience of the rechargeable battery can’t be underestimated after pricing them up for other radios. Quality of sound is good. Only downsides are the battery display, although easy to read inside, is difficult on a sunny day outside. The handle feels a little cheap but does it’s job. Overall I would recommend and am pleased with it. Bargain !!
Easy to set up and use Bluetooth to Smartphone for playlist. The rudimentary Equaliser gives a pleasing 30 Watt output. Aux to Flat Screen TV also augments the lack lustre built-in sound card. Solid build makes it very portable and the option to charge my phone from the battery is a bonus.
The radio has a small dent in the left hand speaker grill! Due to the way it was packed it could only have happened at the factory
Good sound quality, great connectivity and functionality, my only criticism is the battery life. I generally use it indoors so not a but problem, but if you intend to take it out of the home I suggest you look for one with a better battery.
Literally use this radio every day just for general use and as an alarm clock, I find it much nicer to wake up to the radio playing as apposed to an irritating alarm! Highly recommend this product, for the price I would say the quality of the speakers is exceptionally good.

Plus points: Great looks, excellent sound quality, great DAB reception. Display can be dimmed to a low level and still be seen but not keep you awake. Gradual alarm so starts quiet and gets louder.
Negative points: Alarm setting could be more straightforward and if you run it of the mains electricity the battery is constantly charging. The difference between 1 and 2 on the volume dial is quite distinct. 1 a bit quiet and 2 a bit loud.
On the whole though an excellent purchase and I am considering buying a second one.

I researched all DAB radios before deciding on the Azatom Multiplex D2.
I have previously purchased other items from Azatom and all have been excellent.
The radio has now arrived and fully lives up to expectations in all aspects.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced DAB radio with future-proof technology and Bluetooth 5 then I can thoroughly recommend this product.
Easy set up , found our favourite channel and no issues, great sound with antenna only extended a little. Much better sound quality than the old Dab radio we had, looks great light oak and white blends in not an eyesore at all. Cannot really comment on battery life as only used the mains up to now.

Purchased this radio as my previous DAB radio could no longer pick up the newer DAB+ standard broadcasts. The sound quality is excellent with different presets available. Also the ability to connect via Bluetooth was a plus for me. It also seems way more sensitive than my previous radio as it picks up stations that the old one could not.

The design of this unit is also very good and it blends right in perched on our wooden kitchen worktops.

This is a good radio but I was unable to get any stations due to where I live
I liked the sound quality of this radio and I found it very easy to adjust the volume . I rarely turn it off and look forward to listening to my favourite classical music station. I have not yet explored any other stations. I am very pleased to have had it bought for me, and I recommend this radio to everyone who prefers to listen all day and every day to their favourite programmes.

This really does seem to be a quality product! The sound reproduction is superb, as is the tuning set up and reception strength in a location that our previous DAB radio found difficult. It looks great too. I can’t comment on battery yet, but other buyers have been impressed. The only slight ‘niggle ‘ are slightly unclear instructions regarding pre-sets.
Bought this radio (in black) for work, apart from having DAB & FM capabilities it comes with Bluetooth & a USB port, which is very hand. The DAB reception is great, picked up 62 stations, I live in East London area, sound quality is very good with adjustable bass & treble, can’t say how long the battery lasts as I generally use it via the mains, but it’s great value for money and far cheaper than other top brand “site” radios. I would definitely recommend this product.
So far very pleased with this purchase. Had been trying to get new alarm radio that could tune to Dab Virgin. The radio has excellent an quality of sound.
The light dims enough for me at night time. The alarm is not the easiest to set but there are two so once done you probably won’t need to adjust too often. The snooze is activated by pressing the volume control when the alarm sounds, so it is easy to reach out and be sure you are pressing right thing. Only negative is that you press once for 5 mins, twice for 10 and so on, there is no 10 min preset. I ended up contacting Azatom to clarify this and they were quick to come back to me with the answer, so top marks at this stage for customer service.
This a great radio for the money, sound quality is excellent rich and full, a deffinate improvement on my dab prior radio.

Very nice radio. Bought mainly for the DAB plus and the built in battery. Bluetooth and FM are a bonus. Alas it came with a small dent in the LH speaker, I’ll have to live with that. Plenty of volume and for the money it’s excellent.
UPDATE, If the aerial breaks, its NOT covered under the warranty. Mine broke by the hinge, I didn’t snap it. Had to buy a replacement. I still think the radio is good, but with that attitude I will not deal with them again…

I bought this radio last week. It has a good sound for its size. The battery also seams to be good. Today I have listened to it all day on the battery. I am self employed and am using this radio on site. It was easy to scan for channels, it would be better if it had some preset buttons for the favourites, but saving and selecting the presets is not difficult but does involve pressing a button and turning the dial. The display is easy to read and the time display is a handle feature. The brightness of this can be adjusted. Stuart L.
Radio is great when you get a good signal. I bought this because it’s supposedly better than the others at getting good reception. It’s not, it’s the same as the others. I struggle to get good reception where I live and this is hit n miss depending on the weather. The battery on it lasts a good day and a half and it looks neat whichever room it gets put in. Overall I’m pleased but don’t buy if you live in a weak signal area.

I am very pleased with it; sound is excellent & range of DAB stations it has made available is amazing – quite something for the rural area in which I live. A great DAB/FM radio which is good value for money. Recommended.
