Very good for the cold weather, however I think this jacket is a bit on the expensive side.
I purchased this (M) size fleece for my husband and he was so delighted with the quality. The fit was just perfect for him!
Nice fleece, but is a liner for a jacket, as has tabs on sleeves
True sizing, good quality keeps the wind out and wearer comfortable and cosy
First fleece I have ever bought and I’m glad it was by Berghaus. I have worn this pretty much every day during the cold season and can’t see myself without it. Great quality, comfortable, well fitted, retains body heat extremely well and very durable. Will definitely keep you warm on it’s own in dry outdoor conditions when the temperature is cool and when worn underneath a winter jacket during colder climates.
Perfect if you love hiking and the outdoors.

If it had a removal hood it would be perfect. Have to wear cap if using hood.
I haven’t worn the fleece yet, wrong season, but it fits perfectly on, and also inside my berghaus waterproof jacket. Quite expensive though.

Lo uso a diario y estoy muy satisfecho con la proteccin del fro que me propporciona. Es grueso y para ser un polar proteje algo del aire, por lo que si no hace mucho viento se pueden soportar temperaturas bajas solo con el forro y una camiseta. Lo recomiendo.
Bought this to replace/update Polartec acquired about 15 years ago. Seems closer fitting and material not as thick but nevertheless, excellent fit, comfortable, smart and very warm.
I bought this to replace another Berghaus active fleece of the same design purchased ten years ago which is still in good condition but looking slightly “tired”. This new jacket is the same but, unlike the old fleece, without the additional interior pockets on the reverse of the exterior outside hand pockets – presumably a cost saving exercise by Berghaus. This seems to be something they are doing with other garments in their range. Having said this, the fleece is light, warm, well made and offers good resistance to pilling. When used as part of a layering system (goretex shell jacket on the outside, fleece inside and a suitable vest next to the the skin) it’s highly recommended.
I prefer its slightly longer arm fit, very comfortable and warm under Berghaus waterproof outer coat. I don’t bother to zip them together. I like the safe breast pocket as well, glad I opted for “Activity” version. This one was on special offer so very happy with purchase. Now a few weeks in, and tested by some freezing nights working outside, it’s performing perfectly

This is a nice warm fleece. There are three pockets. One in the chest for a map and phone. And side pockets, useful to keep hands warm if it’s not quite glove weather. I’ve been buying Polartec fleeces for years. I like this one.
Only problem I have is the arms are a bit long

Have tried various budget fleeces and none compare to this. Great fit and super warm, worth paying the extra for something that actually delivers.
Sizing a bit off, I have 2 other Berghaus jackets both fit perfect, unfortunately the sleeves on this fleece are 2-3 ins too long such a pity
The fleece is slightly big to fit inside the waterproof shell. As someone has already commented, the sleeves are quite long, though I do have short arms. Once zipped in it is then difficult to hang both satisfactorily. I do not zip the fleece into the shell and instead wear it separately unattached.

Purchased for a friend who lives in a part of the UK that can get very cold in winter, this is an attractive looking fleece jacket, minimally styled and with a functional high neck. For him this was a replacement for another Berghaus fleece a few years old. I asked recently what he thought of it and he was very pleased as he’d found it lightweight yet extremely warm as well as smart. As expected from this trusted brand – excellent!

Bought XL, black, which is a comfortable slightly loose fit for me. Heavier weight, good quality fleece. Looks smart,
two deep pockets for your hands, and a chest pocket too, which I like. Stitched Logos, oozing expected Berghaus quality.
Now have a few fleeces of different weights and colours, and a Cornice waterproof jacket, all from Berghaus and am delighted
with them all.

Berghaus have had the Activity jacket in one form or another on their product list for a very long time. I can certainly remember one from the early 90s. They are an outdoors classic that have been subtly improved but aren’t far removed from the original design. I bought a green one for my father a couple of years ago and that also used the Polartec ThermalPro fleece which you’ll get in the better brands but which comes in so many variants as to be pretty confusing. This one is very plush and tactile offering warmth between the 200 and 300 gsm classic fleece weights. Pockets are well placed; cut is fine for typical UK builds though not as athletic as some brands and it’s very well made. In black it pairs up well with most other layers and is fine for the pub as well as the hill. If you wait until it wears out you should get upwards of 20 years of use out of one of these so it’s a good thing the design is classic as it’s likely to be around for a long while to come. Grea

It was just what I needed to fit the berghaus shell I has, fitted perfectly. Brilliant.
Only criticism is the misleading colour description of Dusk when in fact it is actually Dark Blue as stated on the label.
To avoid confusion this should be corrected.
No inside pockets, but two large side pockets, and one decent sized breast pocket, so no issue with storing things. Excellent quality solid zip as well that’s zips easily. Lovely.
This jacket is ideal for late autumn or winter walks, either by itself or in combination with any of the Berghaus Interactive Fleeces such as the Cornice or Hillwalker. This is made from Polartec Thermal Pro material which is thick than the Polartec Classic Micro material used in other fleeces and offers far greater insulation
It looks really smart and, although made from a thicker material, still looks flattering for those with a fuller figure! The breast pocket is readily accessible and ideally sized for an iPhone X. The two hand pockets are also large and roomy. This is just one of those jackets that is so comfortable that you don’t want to take off at the end of a long walk!
I’m not sure the pockets shoukd be used for anything beyond tissues or gloves as I’m not sure how robust the open weave fabric is.
The men’s version gives you a pectoral pocket (I suppose a phone might go there, but it wouldn’t quite fit my physique.
I’m used to cheap fleeces. This is luxury.
